these two houses shared a lot before, but i built copies on two separate lots yesterday (with some minor changes) so here they are for anyone who's interested in downloading them. the book café is almost entirely without cc, the pub includes some cc decor.

another update on torneskär. a little house down by the sea

if i were to build this again, i would probably build it on a lower foundation, but i guess we'll see how it fits in with the harbour behind it

one of torneskär's resorts, this one on the smaller side (and still a work in progress, out of view there's a huge back yard with a beach that i have plans for). i'm excited to show you more of this area soon as i plan on building saunas, an open-air bath house, and a spa resort nearby

this is what my world is looking like at the moment. i'm inspired by the scandinavian building style and i try to stay within that vibe with this world, but i'm playing around and experimenting a lot with the gardens, trying to achieve a certain feel to them.

whatever grows here does so in spite of the elements, so i decided i didn't want it too green or lush. it might technically be desert or tropical plants, but what do we know? seeds from far away certainly could have made its way here and found conditions to grow in.

sometimes i go a bit overboard with plants so i've gone back to edit these gardens many times and probably will continue to do so, i'm going to try to pick out 3-4 plants to decorate with for each house so it feels cohesive and not so overwhelming.

but yeah :D

other than this, i recently built a book café, and a little fishing cottage (sjøbu/sjöbod) over by the bridge, down by the harbor (out of view on the one picture i included of the bridge) which is actually the criminal lair. i also built a fishing cottage by the harbor and a small red house on the other side of the island, but more pictures to come of course.

i recently got a new computer and i'm struggling with the camera controls in caw. using 2 and 8 to move the camera vertically doesn't seem to work. if you know anything about how to change the camera control hotkeys, please let me know.

a small update on the resort

tant brun

another house in reference to the children's book "tant grön, tant brun och tant gredelin" by swedish author and illustrator elsa beskow. "tant brun" means aunt brown in english.

i struggled with my package files conversion this time around so the house comes only as a .sims3pack file. the house sits on a 20x25 lot and is furnished enough for your sim to not die, nothing fancy.

it's been a while! i was a little low on energy, but i got so much done today, including a forest area.

here's what the island(s) look like at the moment, this is attached to a slightly larger island and connected by a bridge. most community lots will probably be located on the larger island, like the hospital, military base and stadium, but again, i don't have anything planned out. just vibes.

i might release just the small island as its own world, maybe, so let me know if you'd be interested in a torneskär tiny edition (i'm still trying to come up with a different name, suggestions are very welcome).

hello! here's another update on torneskär. i felt suddenly inspired last night, so i built a port and finished the pub i planned on being next to the book café. here's the result! it's not possible for your sims to get to the new port, but i'm looking to fix that, possibly by removing one or two of the retaining walls so there's one or two entrances. it would be nice to have sims sitting on the park benches or fishing from there.

the criminal hideout is going to be right next to this, fronting as a fish monger. or it might just turn into a fish monger, i'll move the criminal hideout to a factory/warehouse on the other side of port where the vibes are less idyllic.

furthermore i want to say thank you for the comments i get, it means so much to me that you're interested in my builds and it gives me the motivation needed to finish this, one small area at a time.

red sky at night, sailors' delight. red sky at morning, sailors take warning.

this is the california day lighting mod's sunrise and i think it's perfect. it turned into a somewhat cloudy day afterwards, which i like. the other lighting mod i had installed was pretty (it was this one), but not exactly what i wanted. i'll take some day time pictures soon. my sim ælis has made it through one entire day in the latest export of my world - one sunset, and one sunrise. i decided to make some changes to the commercial lots here (and i'm once again not following what i planned out on a map in regards to the location of... anything at all, but i guess i needed to draw that map to realise), update on that soon.

i'm thinking of making a pinterest board for inspiration. i'm probably going to do that now actually. instead of building. it's fun to daydream :)
