Star Trek Discovery's last season should have the hinted romance with Owo and Detmer happen. Scrap whatever else they had planned for the show, let's do ten episodes on just this.
They can get adopted by Culber and Stamets into the gay space family which then becomes the focus of the next Trek spin-off.

[Image Description: Six gifs from Star Trek of queer characters. The gifs are tinted various colors so that together, they look like a rainbow. 1: Lenara and Jadzia rub their noses and foreheads together. Then Lenara reaches up, preparing to kiss Jadzia.
2: Gray holds Adria’s head in his hands. Adira grins, then begins to speak and rolls their eyes.
3: Seven and Raffi kiss
4: Reno stands at a computer panel. She looks over her shoulder and speaks.
5: Culber and Stamets lie in bed together. They are holding hands, and Culber has a hand on Stamet’s cheek.
6: A live-action Mariner raises a hand and speaks, confused. End Description.]

I think this season was a very nice ending to discovery, similar to season 3 of picard. discovery will never be my passion and I think they fitted about 3 shows into one, but soft rebooting it into the 32nd century was a really good idea imo. I just don't like the 15th show (ok it's far from that many) being set in the past (in the star trek timeline) and especially the ties to already existing characters. discovery felt like such a knock off at the start, but with a very non-star trek vibe. but enough of the negatives, I think the plot of the last 2-3 seasons were very interesting and especially the last season it felt very much like star trek again. also, discovery marked the new era of star trek, which at that time, was like a dream come true to me.
I was never really invested in any of the characters except culber and stamets and there wasn't much to see in the last few seasons, but that's ok. the found family thing with gray and even more so adira, was really sweet. also adira as a character themself and the one other non binary character in the pre warp-water tower civilisation was a milestone for star trek! and a canon gay couple was about time anyway.
back to this particular season, I thought the epilogue was a tad too long and there was no reason to show michael and book in 25 or so years. leave it open to the imagination, people! saru and t'rina's wedding was really sweet though and kind of in the star trek tradition. and I was glad that nobody of the main characters died, which would've been a very discovery think to happen imo. but I also think the vulcan purist plot would've been very interesting to explore (even at the cost of their wedding), but that went absolutely nowhere for some reason. so definitely a missed opportunity.
at any rate, I'm not sad that this show is over, but think it's great they got a real send-off (unlike so many other shows atm). I recently found out that starfleet academy will be set in the discovery era, which is a bit of a letdown for me, but I still think it's a good idea. (more looking forward to legacy though, for obvious reasons.) also, the doctor will be there!

watched the first four episodes of discovery season three and IT IS SO GOOD. I liked the first couple seasons well enough but this is like. so much better imo. also usually when new characters get introduced to shows after a couple seasons it takes me a while to warm up to them but they added a few and I loved them within a few minutes. ALSO there are these scenes that are kind of cheesy kind of overdone in terms of presenting morals/not subtle at all about like talking rather than fighting and mental health and similar topics and i enjoyed that because I love dumb old sci-fi. I adore all of the characters and could literally write essays on them but in the name of brevity I’ll just say that Michael is as always my favorite because she’s just the best, I’m really excited to see her romance with Book because they have incredible chemistry and she deserves a relationship that brings her joy, Georgiou just gets more fun (and whoever said she was the Garak archetype of discovery is right: she is indeed a formerly evil bad lgbt rep icon who alternates between helping out and causing trouble for her own amusement), Adira is a wonderful addition to discovery and I can’t wait for them to start being referred to with they pronouns and the continuation of their relationship with Gray, and also that Detmer and Owosekun appear to be in love in my lesbian opinion.

Anyone else hoping the Discovery writers give us another instance of the "unburying the gays" trope they've used in the last two seasons? And Tarka and Oros are reunited? Cause I'd be happy with that...

I fucking knew they'd screw us out of a Paul meeting Gray scene. It's not as if that is an incredibly important moment in their lives or anything, right? 🙄 I mean, they pretty much screwed us out of any Paul scenes in general. I'm really disappointed at the lack of chosen space family scenes. We've barely even seen Paul and Hugh interact. I miss them. 🥺

short treks we need:
Hugh and Paul first meeting, going on dates, falling in love (before Discovery)
how Adira and Grey first met and fell for each other, little vignettes of their love story (before Grey was killed)
Book adopting Grudge the cat
vignettes of Jett Reno’s relationship with her wife (before she died)
Adira’s backstory, their life growing up
Book’s childhood growing up on Kwejian
Spock processing the events of season 2 (right after Michael left, grieving her)
Aurelio’s childhood (expanding on what he described in s3ep12)
more scenes from the year Michael & Book spent together before the rest of Discovery arrived in the future

Okay, I’m not done season 3 yet, but Stamets, Hugh and Adira forming a little queer family is honestly my favourite thing.
+ Jett Reno as the lesbian aunt, because she’s great.
