Hard weekend very similar to 2 weeks ago when I did 20.2 and the hyrox 8km race. I actually felt better this weekend as my body is gradually adapting to this type of abuse. 😁 Will you underperform if you don't rest and eat at least to maintenance? 100% yes! Especially if you have to travel overnight. But can you still hold your own? 100% yes. My approach with the #fitnessadaptationprinciples and #adaptivetrainingprinciples has allowed me to get very lean and still perform at a high level. Not a 30lbs in 30 days program. This was a 30 lbs in 90 days program without starvation, without any extremes, just good solid planning and programming at #ufcgymkendall. No eating every 2-3 hours, no eat lean eat clean BS... no starving... Huge shoutout to my boy Nik... 20lbs net lost in 2 months (about 9% decrease in bodyfat). 26 lbs was fat loss and 6lbs lean mass gain. He's about 2-3lbs ahead of schedule then what I anticipated. The kid trains 3xs per week at #ufcgymkendall, he doesn't starve, and just shows up everyday to train hard!! Cardio endurance is up, strength is up, I expect fat to continue melting. He is very active so I tailored his nutrition to take his job into consideration. The fact that he's faster and stronger let's me know he's dialed in just right. Barbell Snatches are probably one of... if not the hardest exercise I've ever done. Years of bodybuilding have built bad habits that I'm determined to eradicate. Today for the first time I FELT my body snatching. It only took about 1000 practice reps. Soooo... #Deadlifts 415 x 3. I took a little too long between sets. I decided not to go for 1 rep max today. I ran out of time and needed to eat before going back to training clients. I was also very fatigued after 3 full rounds of ATP training. Rushing heavy sets can lead to injury. Came home, did some snatch work, and I'll wrap it off with some cardio.
