Luke’s death sets up a surprising role reversal: with her inheritance, plus Agnes’ son getting swindled out of the family fortune, it’s now Ada who holds the household purse strings, setting up a seismic realignment in Season 3.
"Cynthia and I were laughing, imagining that Agnes is up in her room while Ada, who’s such a bohemian — she’s inviting all the stray cats and the unwed mothers into the house."
Christine Baranski joking about Ada and Agnes | The Gilded Age

Only three episodes left in The Gilded Age season 2, folks. Larry and Marian went for a lovely walk. I have a feeling cousin Dashell is gonna propose to Marian (ITS SUPPOSED TO BE YOU LARRY). I love how they also show the servents in the show, I'm very happy that they discovered crazy lady's schemes and stopped them. I'm also very happy that Aunt Agnes decided to go to her sisters Wedding.
I'm hoping that Gladys will have her happy ending, and not how Conseulo Vanderbilt. (The Russell are based on the Vanderbilts).
I really wanna see more of newport mansions in the series, especially The Breakers. If they can show the Elms, why can't they do the Breakers?
MORE SEASONS PLEASE.

One thing I LOVE about The gilded age? The characters repeat clothes. It's so common that in period pieces you see characters wearing different dresses every day, but that just wouldn't be possible in real life. Love that for them, it gives a dash of realism to the show.

I really appreciate how Marian's rebellion is so...small. She's not going anywhere dangerous, or teaching people Agnes hates. She teaches watercolours one afternoon a week to girls of her own class, and Agnes still loses her shit, and Marian knew she would.
(Also, I wonder how much sympathy re Raikes she got vs 'I told you so'. Agnes's desire to control means every sin is heinous)
