If poets and engineers have something in common, it’s that we are also used to aid and abet genocide; professions and vocations do not, inherently, offer an umbrella of solidarity, just as individualized disabled identities, often if not exclusively rooted in western medical models of diagnosis, don’t either.

I've been promoting E-Sims for Gaza on Hi Nay since earlier this year, but they've been low on E-sims for the last couple of months, so I want to share this wonderful disability advocacy called "Crips for eSims for Gaza"

Crips for eSims for Gaza is a collaboration between Jane Shi, Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, and Alice Wong.

Super helpful for people who want to donate E-sims but are daunted by the process.

I know the Disability Day of Mourning traditionally commemorates disabled people murdered by their parents and/or caregivers, but I wanted to take a moment to also commemorate the disabled lives lost during the genocides taking place in Palestine, the DRC, Sudan, and across the globe (including in the US). There are many ways for a system to perpetuate ableist violence and we must struggle as a community against all of them.

May the disabled souls taken from us rest in peace, every single one, and may the members of the disabled community currently fighting for their lives and the lives of their loved ones receive the support and safety they deserve.

I know you have all probably seen the esims for gaza posts circulating. Some of you have probably looked at them and thought maybe you should help out, but have weighed up the daunting process of signing up for something you're unfamiliar with vs. the gut-wrenching scale of the things people are going through on the ground right now, and you've put it off or questioned whether it will make enough of a difference vs. some other future kind of activism you could put that $6+ towards.
