you ever have situations that make you want to take people by the shoulders and go "you are not 15 any longer. this behavior is no longer quirky and cute. it is exhausting for you and everyone else to act like a teenager you haven't been in a decade or longer. knock it the fuck off"

very obvious that carnivorous plants live in the wild but none of my times seeing carnivorous plants in various commercial and enthusiast settings had prepared me for almost stepping on them at [redacted southeastern US location] i got to go to on the conference plant field trip last weekend. they were actually eating flies and stuff next to like mud and grass and some sand. sundews and pitcher plants there too. just in the bushes. crazy stuff out there folks

just had the sudden question of what happened to my weighted blanket in the fire. it was one of the fancier kinds where the weight is glass beads, so I just imagined a vaguely blanket shaped sheet of melted glass in the rubble and thinking how satisfying breaking it would be
#i found it while traveling to the states while i lived in canada#and it was so steeply discounted cause of a minor stain on the fabric that i bought it#and then paid an overweight baggage fee on the plane in order to bring it home#and it still was cheaper than buying the blanket full price in canada#can you tell the edible hit during the first sentence of this post

Check out this upcoming indie game - Kun'tewiktuk: A Mi'kmaw Adventure
youtube
A fantasy adventure game inspired by Mi’kmaw legend and folklore. It chronicles the adventures of siblings Wasuek ("Flower") and her brother U'n ("Fog"). They get separated one summer morning and they go on an adventure through the spirit world to reunite.
The game is produced by Green Robot Studios and Kji-Wikuom Studios (the later of which is located in Eskasoni First Nation).
The creation of the game primarily stemmed from a desire to preserve Mi'kmaw language and culture.
There will be a version that is all in Mi'kmaq.
The game's villains and adversaries are inspired by Mi'kmaw legend and folklore. They include ogres, ice creatures, giant spirit animals, and much more.
The game features art from Loretta Gould.
All voices are performed by Mi'kmaw speakers.
Upon release it will be available on Steam and Epic Games.
#!!!!!! this is awesome!!#will be checking out#i used to work with a local Mi'kmaq group on conservation and wildlife rescue#one of the cool things was gathering the dropped feathers and quills from birds and porcupines at the rehab to be used for ceremonies#and for pieces
