Design for mainframe pushbutton and t-ai
Teletraan 1 and his daughter
Although mainframe can't speak, they're the ones who've been telling the stories of the early autobots to the new generation, with push button acting as an interpreter
They've been here the whole time we just didn't see them because you don't get a lot of action when you do your best work behind a keyboard
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mainframe is a close personal friend of jazz and is stationed aboard the apex bomber as the ship's computer, inaccurately refered to as teletron 1. born with a cognitive error, mainframe's hardware is incompatible with the speech synthesis software that the rest of the autobots use, meaning he's mute, and comunicates in his own way, usually with another bot acting as an interpreter.
Although living with a disability isn't easy, mainframe wouldn't trade his experiences for anything, as the life he's lived, unable to express himself verbally has given him a unique perspective which allowed him to excel in places others could not, mainframe is a genius programmer smart enough to improve even vector sigma's programs, he believes that struggles create strong people which is not very autobot of him,
Not fully convinced of the autobot cause, having enjoyed working on the skirts of their territory with jazz for many years, the computer gets a little sassy when it's time for optimus prime to do his taxes not trusting authority, which contrasts push button who would like nothing more than to go into battle with their leader but is stuck working for mainframe who pays a pretty penny to keep her around and keep an eye on his computer screen
The computer in question is teletraan 1
Teletraan is the operating system transformer's brains run on, created by vector sigma. Just because something is standard doesn't mean it can't be improved, t-ai, named after the "transformer artificial intelligence" OS made by mainframe that she runs on, is intended to be the first to benefit from a new teletraan for the modern day but her fast processing speeds makes her frustated when other bots can't think as fast as she does

Do you have a 3d printer and a love of toys and action figures?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shapeways is shutting down. I need to move my library of material to cults, but I need test prints and pics to do that effectively.
I need one (or probably several) people with 3d printers who would like to get free access to the files I'm planning to sell in exchange for test printing and photographing the results.
A variety of my sculpts are shown here to give an idea of what you'd be working with, as well as some of my results for when I had an old ABS printer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've been doing this literally for a decade or more, so there's a lot of options.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it would help me keep this stuff in circulation so I can keep fed and fun can be had by all.

Thanks!

@thebigboy71 commission featuring his Prime OC hosting a holiday party.
It's tied to the Legacy toy line, fleshing out a story using his and my characters for Transformers as they all fight against Jhiaxus' machinations.
Most of the cast here comes from my Energon, Cyberverse and G1 Nucleon adaptions, and I'm pleased to finally have put colors to my main human OCs Meister, Thompson Grahm and alien Nucle-Ai.
Rattrap's colors are from his Fox Kids recolor toy, but its repurposed here to make him native to Transformers Armada, referencing the toy line using some Beast Wars characters to expand the line. He has a Mini-Con, but sometimes he uses one of the Street Action Team members to Powerlinx with.
Originally, there was supposed to be a gag where JD is visibly annoyed his Egg Nog isn't alcoholic, while Braverman comforts him, but I instead made them more cuddly, enjoying each other's company instead. Maccadam is very clear on not serving alcoholic drinks to minors, lol. It IS a kids franchise after all.

Stupid OC Idea: Transformer who turns into the Down With Cis bus.
The stupid part comes in when, while she is transfemme, that isn't all that big a deal on Cybertron after they got rid of the Functionist Council, she's just really concerned about Nucleon poisoning.

Transformers
R.E.D.
Optimus Primal
by Hasbro (2021)
I don't exactly remember when I got this guy, but it was sometime back in 2021. I guess it doesn't really matter anyway.
This is Optimus Primal. We've seen him before, but THIS version is part of the now defunct (or I presume it is by now) R.E.D. toyline or 'Robot Enhanced Design' line Just a fancy way of Hasbro trying to merge the concepts of Action Masters and Star Wars' Black Series figures.
I've covered a few of them at this point, and I never bought that many, aside from the obligatory Optimus Prime, Megatron, and a few others; I thought mostly the line was a bit of a let down.
But I would say Optimus Primal is (mostly) an exception.
Tumblr media
Bot mode:
I suppose it would be pointless to talk about the beast mode, considering he doesn't have one.
Anyway, Optimus Primal is in his Season 1 robot mode, and I gotta say, THIS is fantastic!
The sculpting of the fur is so good; some of the best in my opinion.
The Optimus head sculpt might be one of the best Primal head sculpts I've ever seen too (though I do think the blue of his helmet and the gray of his mask are bit too dark).
The range of motion on this figure is good. The toy is capable of a lot of different poses which is great for photography.
For some reason, the chest panel and the backpack are removable, and I'm not really sure why. There is some sculpting under the chest panel, so I suppose this could be a form of battle damage...OR maybe since some of the other R.E.D figures have similar removable pieces, perhaps they can swapped around to different figures...

Accessories:
Optimus Primal comes with few accessories; a pair of closed fists and his two swords.
Starting with the swords. They're fine. I think they look really nice, they feel solid, and look accurate to the shows design.
On the downside, however, is not with the swords, but with Optimus' gripping hands.
The plastic of the gripping hands is very thick and not very maleable. I had to exert some strength in order to wedge those sword handles into the hands. It's not fun.
Swapping out the grip hands for the closed fists is very simple. And once you got those dukes on, Optimus Primal is ready to box.
They look fine, but I wish Optimus came with another pair of hands, with open palms or something.

Final Thoughts:
R.E.D. Optimus Primal might be one of the best this line had to offer (in spite of its flaws) in its brief existence.
The sculpting is good, the level of articulation is good, the accessories...are lacking. But at the end of the day, it's just fun. Maybe not $20 worth of fun, but fun nonetheless.

I do have to say that I think 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime scales in well with RED Optimus Primal

Dear, Vector Prime.
Are there any Cybertronians who see the Transformers transformation as an art form?
Dear Aspiring Aesthete,
Indeed! Most Cybertronians are as aware of changing trends in "conversion art" as they are of popular sports. There have been countless movements over time, existing simultaneously and in conversation with one another, but common consensus is that the history of conversion art can be charted across five main eras:
Pre-data: The only surviving records of some of the earliest conversion art come in the form of circuit diagrams, which illustrate how the transformation cog interlocks with the rest of the body. From these, one must interpret the individual sequential steps of the transformation.
Gridism: During the "First Five Cities of Darkness" period, the classical forms of Conversion Art emerged. First, you must begin with a pose. Each bot has a unique pose, according to ancient artists, and you may wear faceplates or masks that differ from your everyday appearance. The next two forms are poses showing you in mid-transformation. Classically, you should be in 25%-alt, 75%-bot in the second pose, and 75%-alt, 25%-bot in the third pose. Finally, you wind up in alt-mode. If possible, you should project a backdrop of a grid of neon lines, preferably with a red or purple gradient.
Defunctionism: As Cybertron's many wars erupted, gridism became associated with the out-of-touch ruling class, and both Autobot and Decepticon alike wanted to break out of such staid restrictions. You begin to see transformations that behave more like vague "shimmering", "quivering" or even "crackling dots" representing transformations as T-cogs continued to evolve. It was now likely that you could not tell how a bot mode connected to an alt mode at all; indeed, this was a deliberate aim of the movement.
Neogridism: As the wars dragged on for millennia, both factions began to yearn for a simpler time "when everything made sense", and found defunctionist transformations to be excessively indulgent. Grids returned, though at bizarre angles. Poses returned, but sometimes with dozens of intermediate steps.
Postgridism: In modern times, neogridism exists alongside postgridism, a highly-deconstructed form of transformation. In some contests, there is only an alt mode or a bot mode, with no transformation at all. The artist will say it is the viewer who transforms while regarding the performance piece (usually just a car or jet on a pedestal). The most devoted postgrid artists call themselves "Actionless Masters", and will sit motionless for millions of years, until their T-cogs cease to function altogether!

I don't mind if the New Kick-Off Toy is a Retool of Origins Jazz
(Because Takara Tomy and Hasbro doesn't wanna make New Transformers Figures for the Action Masters Characters Unfortunately, though I think Mainframe is the Only One who is NOT a Retool, which is Good for him)

Action Masters remain a fun curiosity, reviled for not being able to Transform, but compensating with the various pack in partners and vehicles that could.
My goal with these things is to be toyetic as possible and advertise the toy gimmicks, but also add in my own toys. The idea of the Autobots driving around in their own cars is funny to me, and to advertise the gimmick better as the Autobots that had the cars, I gave Mainframe his own. The joke is itā€™s supposed to look like a circuit board somewhat because Mainframe is the computer geek (and quite possibly turns INTO a computer). Though a running gag on my end is Mainframe used to turn into a car, but heā€™s a terrible driver.
I havenā€™t decided what Mainframeā€™s car turns into just yet, but Push-Buttonā€™s gun mode attaches to the port on the back.
Mainframeā€™s Cog visually resembles the IDW Magnificence relic, which was later retconned into Epistemus, the progenitor of the Brain Module in IDW to tie into Mainframe being the smarty pants of the group.
