A Color Story: New Texture Effects +Pack!

I am so excited to introduce my newest effects +pack for A Color Story, Texture!

I’m very excited about this +pack since it’s so different from all of the other effects in A Color Story. You may have noticed them on some of my photos lately. I love the subtle imperfections and noise it adds to photos. It’s an editing look I am really into right now!

I named all of the effects witchcraft- and sorcery-related names (think Harry Potter meets Hocus Pocus meets Sabrina The Teenage Witch). I hope you love this new pack as much as I do!

Texture comes with 15 different effects that vary between subtle scratches, scuffs, grain, and light leaks. These effects give photos a nostalgic look, as if they came from an old photo album. I LOVE it!!

Being chronically ill, I’m anxious especially right now. I’m also anxious because of something that doesn’t generally come up—a fear of mine. A phobia, really. You know That Moment in dystopian or zombie horror movies where people en masse act horribly? The soldiers in the house in 28 Days Later? The people fighting over vehicles in War of the Worlds? Many scenes in The Walking Dead? That’s a big fear of mine. I lived through Hurricane Hugo in Charlotte, and people acted like that on a smaller, much less graphic scale. I was threatened over a bag of ice, and I was a kid. So, what does this have to do with my meds, hydration, and my @Ipsy haul? Self care. I ordered some groceries online, which makes me feel safer, and now, while my friend Laura the chef’s popover recipe is in the oven, I am going to: take my meds, hydrate properly for POTS, stay off the net, apply a conditioning mask to my hair, apply a deep pore treatment to my face (blackhead bomb is the phrase, ew), put on my new apple-scented perfume, and read. These things still matter. They matter more. I need to listen to my body now more than ever, and it’s asking me with extra chest pains and extra anxiety to love it more. The family masks completed from my engineered #facemask pattern from Jonathan Beall’s Old Shale Face Warmer pattern. Pictures: 1) Mom wearing hers to her doctor’s appointment—she received compliments from every health professional, so my work here is done 💁🏻‍♀️ 2) Mom’s laid out, with my mother-in-law’s in grey underneath 3) my mother-in-law’s inside-out, so you can see the pocket, and 4) me wearing my Dad’s. I have decided that the best extra barrier, should one be desired, would be disposable gauze bandages, the kind you tape on a cut. Fold them up, slide them into the pocket, then throw them away when you’re home. If you don’t want to do so, there’s still two layers of thick, worsted-weight cotton there. As written, (link below) it fits my big Scottish head, and so fit my Dad. I reduced it to CO 76, removing 3 repeats of the K2P2 rib of the neck band, for my mother and my mother-in-law.
