hiii :3
do you have any phobia headcanons for the main 6?
Ah yes hello small child yes I do have some phobia hc’s for the sillies :3
Cali:
Pyrophobia: the overwhelming fear of fire (this one’s pretty obvious as to why)
Hemophobia: the fear of blood (idk he just gives the vibe of someone that HATES the sight of blood)
Cynophobia: the fear of dogs (he seems like the type of person to have a deathly fear of dogs)
Florida:
Dentophobia: fear of dentists (….I genuinely have no explanation for this one-)
Lilapsophobia: fear of hurricanes and tornadoes (no matter how much he enjoys the chaos, he also is afraid cuz it hurts and he knows that people are dying or being misplaced)
Gov:
Scoptophobia: the fear of being stared at (listen he’s awake 24/7, you CANNOT tell me that he doesn’t hallucinate and that those hallucinations don’t include illusions of "people" and "creatures" staring down at him. Haunting him. He fuckin hates being stared at now cuz whenever he’s being stared at he goes back to those dark lonely nights.)
Somniphobia: fear of sleep (this one is also kinda obvious I think-)
Texas:
Trypanophobia: fear of needles/injections (…he really hates needles for some reason and anytime he’s needed something done that involved needles, Gov or whoever came with him had to hold him still so that CDC could do what he needed to do.)
Nosocomephobia: fear of hospitals (he has A LOT of doctor-related fears. Ain’t it ironic that he’s one of the statehouse doctors (other one being Mass).)
Lilapsophobia: Fear of tornadoes and hurricanes (From Galveston to Harvey, and Waco to Saragossa to Jarrell, he’s TERRIFIED of tornadoes and hurricanes. And yet he still watches them.)
Tomophobia: fear of surgery (he hates the idea of it and it’s also the reason that he hasn’t gotten top surgery.)
Agoraphobia: fear of crowds and crowded open spaces (it gives him SO MUCH ANXIETY AND HE HAS HAD SO MANY PANIC/ANXIETY ATTACKS.)
New York:
Pyrohobia: fear of fire (with how many incidents that involved fire, yeah.)
Aerophobia: the fear of flying/planes (….I’m not gonna explain this one cuz of how obvious it is-)
Agoraphobia: fear of crowds and crowded open spaces (hence why he has a love-hate relationship with the city)
Astraphobia: the fear of thunder/lightning (it’s loud and bright and scares him)
Atychiphobia: the fear of failure (*looks at England*)
Louisiana:
Achluophobia: the fear of darkness (this is when the spirits like to attack him the most)
Daemonophobia: the fear of demons (pretty obvious imo. little does he know, the demons are more afraid of him than he is of them.)
Lilapsophobia (I’m not defining this one again just look at Texas and Florida’s lists lmao /lhj)
Phasmophobia: the fear of ghosts/spirits (they hurt him and torment him.)

Live in the light (1)
Word for Today written by Bob and Debby Gass
Saturday 17th August 2024
'I am the light of the world... have the light of life.' John 8:12 NKJV
A pastor writes: 'Have you ever heard the term achluophobia? It is the fear of darkness...Being in complete darkness is unnerving. It induces a sense of helplessness. And yet physical darkness is nothing compared to emotional, relational and spiritual darkness.'
Today you may feel like you're in a dark place with no way out: 'My girlfriend left me for another man.' Or, 'I'm probably heading towards divorce. My husband has been cheating on me.' Or, 'I'm depressed and cry for no reason. When will these feelings go away?' Or, 'I'm wrestling with a terrible illness, and I'm basically housebound. I am in a dark place and need help.' If that's your story, there is help, and there is hope. Jesus said, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life' (John 8:12 NKJV). If you're willing to turn to him today, you will discover that he can illuminate your path and show you the way out of the darkness you're in. When you turn on the light, darkness has to leave. And Jesus is the light that removes your spiritual and emotional darkness.
Notice that Jesus didn't say he is a light, or one among many, but instead the light. He didn't say he is light just for some, but the light of the world. Regardless of where you live, your place in society or your life circumstance, Jesus is your answer. If you're living in darkness of any kind, he is inviting you to come to him and step into the light.

hi! I love your illustrations, and i was wondering if you had some tips for making wolves/werewolves look more unsettling? I'm going for a more folklore-y vibe but everything i draw comes out looking very... hot furry. which is a good vibe but not the one i'm going for.
Thank you very much :D!!
June was a character I designed to solve the same dilemma! I wanted to make a werewolf that was scary/unsettling but had a more anthro design later in the story.
The first thing is to gather inspiration! Reference and research is incredibly important if you're looking to try a different art style. Look at various cultural art styles and folklore about wolves or lycans and so some style studies. That way you'll find ways to incorporate those styles into the way you draw.
I also looked at various werewolf designs and picked out all my favorites to make what I considered my ‘perfect’ werewolf. With June, I looked at Bad Moon, Van Helsing, Dog Soldiers, Royakan (Inuyasha), Foxx (Gargoyles), and The Beast Of Gevaudan for inspo. I like to tell people that if you can name at least 3 characters/references that influenced your character, congratulations, they're their own unique character! Use your inspirations and build off of them until you create something uniquely your own. And of course add your personal flare as well :>
For a while I tried to combine the two aesthetics which for me became very difficult. If I drew her too ‘scary’ as an anthro she came out with very little energy/personality. If I drew her too anthro, then she was too cartoony and not intimidating. That’s when I remembered We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story and how the dinosaurs had two separate designs. BUT even as a kid, I knew those were the same dinos, whether they were cartoony versions or the scary ones. So I realized, at least for me and for the sake of June’s design, that two designs were needed. One influenced by the more anthro work, and one by the more creepy/folklore look I was going for.
So after I decided on making two designs, I found more references. I followed a bunch of horror artists to see they conveyed unsettling energy in their work. I'm also just a big fan of both horror movies and horror anime, so I will watch a lot of that while drawing to see how to mimic that feeling in the media. June can't control her primal instincts for much of the plot, so I wanted to convey that feral nature and put most of the focus on her eyes, teeth, and claws. She has very few recognizable ‘human’ features and the features emphasized in her design related to various fears people have (scopophobia, dentophobia, and achluophobia).
So that’s my thought process when I do more stylized folklore/horror work! Research, reference, and experimentation. Some of my personal favorite things to go back to when making something unsettling but still animated are Primal and the demon designs in Inuyasha. They're both phenomenal!!!

maribelle for that oc ask thingy
Full Name: Maribelle Burnett
Gender and Sexuality: She's a cis girl but Laojin kind of makes that weird, but also she's homosex.
Pronouns: Mainly she/her, other people might call her by different pronouns though and she won't really bother to correct them.
Ethnicity/Species: Yene.......or in boring terms, Space French + American. her other parent's ethnicity is up in the air but given her weird jellyfish DNA there's a fat chance she is some part Pruq / Space Indian.
Birthplace and Birthdate: Northking, Duruta, on March 4th, 6003 [she was born in a prison!]
Guilty Pleasures: excessive shopping, but especially if she gets to use someone else's money .
Phobias: i lick my thumb. haphephobia, cynophobia, philophobia, and pedophobia. sort of achluophobia.
What They Would Be Famous For: being an heiress, I GUESS. she was somewhat famous in ophesia before getting kidnapped in a "extremely small, three-paragraph wikipedia page" sort of way. after she got kidnapped it got bumped up to like four paragraphs.
What They Would Get Arrested For: murdering people lol.
OC You Ship Them With: I would rather rub my entire body with VapoCool [i don't ship her with anyone because it makes me sad to try </3]
OC Most Likely To Murder Them: Benito tried! [But also, maybe Otto, if he wouldn't get sad and also thought he could get away with it?]
Favorite Movie/Book Genre: She likes Gothic literature, mysteries, and swashbuckler stories. She also enjoys science fiction, but it's not really "babes in space" type of science fiction that she likes. Think something more like 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. As for nonfiction, she's the type to grab anything she can get regarding biology.
Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: If it has even a shred of romance in it, she's out. Even worse if it has character, ah, ala Frollo.
Talents and/or Powers: Beating people to death Swordplay and archery, also tactical board games. If you show her a picture of a bug or plant she could tell you what it is fairly easily.
Why Someone Might Love Them: I've been told that people like her because she is relatable? [Are you people okay I am genuinely concerned.]
Why Someone Might Hate Them: She's written to be ANNOYINGLY PESSIMISTIC. The type of person to glance over at someone being happy and just be a bitch because "their happiness won't last long". She feels bad so everyone else has to feel bad.
How They Change: :)
Why You Love Them: I like feeling negative emotion when I write and sometimes she makes me sad.

Do You Think You Can Instill Morality...By Spreading Lies And Irrational Fears...?
Thousands of child abusing and congregation defrauding indoctrinated clergy, prove...“No you cannot!”
“Scaring kids (childish mentalities!) with (holy!) ghosts and (religious fantasy avenging god) monsters can have psychological effects.
...a patient related to me a problem with her 9-year-old son, who’s so afraid of the dark (the world outside religion!) that he can’t sleep with the lights off (religious addiction, clutching onto fabricated unverifiable religious make believe etc).
Up to now he still wets his bed (gets physically overwhelmed by irrational religious fear mongering*!). Apparently, the son’s yaya (religious babysitter, ie the church!) used to frighten him with stories of scary creatures like ghosts (evil spirits!) and aswang (devils, demons, Satan!).
It’s sad that even parents sometimes use this scare tactic (on behalf of the church!) to make their kids go to bed early (give more money to the church!), or else, “the moomoo” (holy! ghost) or monster (god!) would come to get them.*
Sometimes, they (pastors!) would even feign seeing the monster in the closet (demons in the secular community, science etc!) and describe it to their children (church sermons!). They would assure their kids (congregants!) that they had killed the monster or driven them away (performed an exorcism, cast out demons, sanctified an area!)—but they might come back if the kids don’t behave or sleep early (be manipulated by them!).
Such mindless tactics can have a double-whammy effect on children (congregants!), whose imaginations can make these stories seem real in their minds. They believe everything adults (manipulating clergy!) tell them, especially their parents or their yaya (religious babysitters!).
The first whammy is, the secretion of melatonin in the children’s pineal gland will be impaired and since melatonin is a multitasking hormone, there can be complications in the child’s (congregant’s mental!) development. It may predispose the child to cancer later in life or even at an early age.
Impaired secretion of melatonin may also be a reason why child actors and actresses are at risk of not attaining full physical (or mental!) development.
The second whammy—a much more serious one—is the long-term psychological consequences on a child whose fear of the dark was exaggerated.
Scars
“Instilling undue fear in children can cause damaging psychological scars in the long-term,” warns Dr. Bess de Guia, a member of the very active Batch ’77 of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) College of Medicine, and a respected psychiatry consultant at The Medical City (TMC).
“Such fear may be the root cause of problems like post-traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks and anxiety disorder,” Bess explains .
“The common psychological effect is chronic phobic reaction, which may extend to adolescence and beyond,” adds Dr. Nina Halili-Jao, another member of UST Batch ’77 and a child psychiatrist at TMC.
According to Bess and Nina, when fear of the dark reaches a degree that is severe enough to be considered pathological, it is called nyctophobia or achluophobia, one of the most common phobias in both children and young adults.
The two psychiatrists explain that such fear, which can conjure images of scary creatures lurking in the dark, can leave a deep, negative imprint in the child’s subconscious or unconscious mind that can have a lasting effect on his or her mental health until adulthood.
Parents who scare their children to discipline them are unwittingly causing them potentially serious harm if not resolved or “processed early enough.”
Fortunately, with my (atheist adults!) parents’ comforting care and assurance that my yaya (pastor!) was just kidding (deceiving!), I overcame my fear.”
Defense mechanism
Fear of the dark is actually an evolutionary instinctive defense mechanism of humans, which protected ancient men from nocturnal predators. So, somehow, it’s hardwired in our brain to be wary of the dark.
“This is actually part of our survival mechanism, similar to the ‘flight or fight’ response,” Bess explains. She says that one generally outgrows this (religious fantasy!) fear, but when exaggerated in childhood, it becomes a lasting phobia.
The bed-wetting of our patient’s son is most likely related to his extreme fear of the dark, Bess says. “Bed-wetting (consumed with irrational fears!) is a common disorder among children (the religious!) with psychological problems. They may also be other causes of post-traumatic stress disorder, triggered by the child’s exaggerated fear of the dark.”
Aside from bed-wetting, other symptoms may include tantrums and screaming, thumb-sucking, feeling cold, regression to baby talk, refusal to sleep without a light on, nightmares and wanting to sleep with parents.
Older children and adults may develop some of the following physical and psychological symptoms: hyperventilation (shallow, fast breathing when tense); chest pain, palpitations or feeling choked; getting tired easily; appetite problems (poor appetite or binge eating leading to obesity), and feeling cold, shivering or shaking.
The unresolved nyctophobia can expand to other psychological and emotional problems: an inferiority (persecution!) complex and over-consciousness of how one looks (religious status, insane religious titles and silly religious robes!) ; pessimism (end times obsession!) and depression (perpetual impending Armageddon!) (always thinking about getting sick (impending tribulation !) or dying (after-life eternal hell-fire!); obsessive-compulsive traits like repeated checking of places in the house (the world!) for imagined monsters (demons, evil spirits!), or checking several times if the doors are locked (fearful prayers, rebuking Satan, claiming the blood of Jesus) ; refusing to go out after dark, or into dark places or rooms (the world!); frequent awakening at night or insomnia (interrupted religious fantasizing); sleeping with a light or television on (religious distractions like constant church meetings, religious fantasy songs and religious fantasy stories, and religious TV!), and problems with school or work due to poor concentration (zoning out of reality back into religious fantasy!).”

Fear of darkness (Achluophobia/Nyctophobia,) is a common phobia among children, but adults can also have this phobia developed. This phobia is the fourth most common phobia in the US, under fear of the public, speaking, fear of death and fear of spiders. In 2014 11% of the population had this phobia problem, and they were adult! Fear of the dark is even more related to children, so roughly 73% of them have this phobia. NAME OF YOUR MUSE: Sophocles Smithfield ONE PICTURE YOU LIKE BEST OF YOUR MUSE’S FC:
(he’s so happy and it’s adorable)
TWO HEADCANONS YOU HAVE FOR YOUR MUSE THAT YOU NEVER TOLD ANYONE:
He worries (much more than any child his age should) that he’s going to die suddenly, be it from a machine-related accident, someone shooting him or whatever else, and he has an in-progress will written up as a precautionary measure. (Pretty much anything of value so far has been noted that it should go to Molayne.)
He has absolutely no clue what he’d ever do if his Togedemaru took interest in the idea of finding a mate. (On one hand, baby Togedemaru are adorable. On the other, there is not a single Pokemon out there that would ever even come close to being good enough for her, in his opinion.)
THREE THINGS THAT YOUR MUSE LIKES DOING IN THEIR FREE TIME:
He likes to draw whatever comes to mind (though he never shows anyone the results).
He enjoys coming up with different ideas for inventions, oftentimes noting down everything that he can about them, even if he doesn’t actually plan to build them.
It’s not terribly uncommon to find him reading a book.
SEVEN PEOPLE THAT YOUR MUSE LOVES/LIKES:
Molayne -- This man has done so much for him over the years, and it’s a persistent kindness that he will never forget. He loves his cousin and will do everything within his power to make sure the older of the two of them is happy and healthy.
Professor Kukui -- He really admires the man’s intelligence and physical strength, but even more than those things, he really appreciates how kind the professor is to what seems like everybody.
Togedemaru -- She isn’t technically a ‘person’, but she has been his best friend and constant companion for years; He’d trust her with his life in a heartbeat.
Kiawe -- Sophocles really appreciates how kind the older trial captain is, and though he’s not sure he really deserves all of the kind, brotherly behaviour shown toward him, he really wants to be able to return the favour--he just doesn’t know if he can.
The other trial captains -- Despite how he insists that they aren’t friends, he doesn’t care about them, etc.--he does. They may not be extremely close, but he could be pretty easily persuaded to fix any tech issues they might be having (which may not seem like much, but it really does mean a lot coming from him).
Zeus -- Also not a human but whatever. Sophocles is puzzled as to why the Togedemaru seems to like him so much, but by this point, he’s pretty fond of the little fellow. He’s not-so-secretly thrilled that someone (who isn’t family) seems to enjoy spending time with him, and it’s never a bad thing to have another trustworthy friend. Plus--he’s a Togedemaru; What’s not to like about that?
The protag -- He thinks their feats are admirable. (Given how protag portrayals tend to differ from one another, I can’t really specify more than that.)
TWO THINGS YOUR MUSE REGRETS:
Leaving a fair amount of his belongings at his parents’ house when he moved away. (He dreads the idea of going back for it all because it means he’ll have to talk to at least one of them.)
Any time he has mentioned to someone (Molayne, Kukui, and so on) that he had been treated cruelly by someone else. (Though they tell him that they are glad he said something, Sophocles still feels immensely selfish that he has taken up someone else’s valuable time with what he sees as stupid and petty complaints.)
A PHOBIA YOUR MUSE HAS:
Achluophobia - The fear of darkness Anything more than a few seconds is absolutely terrifying to him, and his anxiety skyrockets quicker than he can process it, leaving him effectively stuck in his own mind and forced to revisit every single awful memory that his mind can bring forth for quite a while or until someone attempts to snap him out of it.
