I just had to share this email I got so all y'all can appreciate the absolute state of welfare services in Australia with me:
Tumblr media
The NILs Loan Scheme is a government funded, no interest loan scheme for people on low incomes, but this leaves me wondering exactly who tf can qualify for their loans. Because it seems like if you have any symptoms of poverty it's a no.
I applied because I need the clutch replaced in my van, which I live in. It's lucky that I actually CAN afford the cost myself (due to living in a van & not participating in Australia's increasingly ridiculous housing market). I thankfully can afford such an expense these days & was just looking for a responsible financial buffer, just in case. But if this had happened to me a few years ago when I first became homeless and was far less financially stable, then my next living situation wouldn't be "affordable housing" it would be a fucking tent.
Anyway, the backwards ass state of a GOVERNMENT FUNDED welfare scheme refusing to assist those who need welfare the most because they don't want to encourage homelessness or whatever the dumb fuck? Just really rustled my jimmies tbh. Just screams "yet another govt welfare scheme that's actually just about handing out money to fake charities & not helping the poor". Good Shephard just got on the "do not donate to these grifters" list along with the Salvos😒

whoever stole my account information in order to spend $127 on [checks notes] roku purchases, i hope you have incurable hangnails on every finger and toe for the rest of your shitty life.
#does that seem disproportionate?#i promise it's not#because my former manager decided that me being in australia dealing with my dad's death#and me attempting to contact said manager about a dozen times and getting no response#and then me opening multiple HR tickets and getting NO RESPONSE#equates to me ''abandoning my position''#so i currently have no income and only $43 to my name since someone decided my broke ass was a good candidate for theft#plus because of all the fraudulent charges i had to lock my account#which had the utterly ridiculous and undisclosed effect of not only blocking charges to my account but CREDITS#which means that when i decided to make a sensible mental health decision#and withdrew from the class i was taking this quarter so that i could give myself time to grieve#with the intention of enrolling in the same class next quarter instead#the tuition refund got blocked#and is now just like. hanging in no mans land.#so i can't enroll in the class for next quarter yet because i can't access the money i intended to use for it#and the classes only have space for 15 students#and it's going to take 7-10 days for the bank to issue my new card and for my account to be functional#so now i've got a new thing to be stressed about#when i was specifically trying to give myself a break from stress#so yeah i hope the person who stole from me has a shit day forever#hope they get little bits of egg shell in everything they eat#and that they can always faintly smell dog poop as if they stepped in it but can never find the source#cass says things

i added tags to this earlier, but wanted to add more sorry if this is incoherent but I notice this so much in feminist spaces and i understand that it can be hard to reckon with as a feminist but like locking rapists up or sending them away or just killing them is not going to erase the problem of rape it’s not something inherent in men that they rape or do other heinous crimes and with the fact that men of color are much more likely to be falsely accused of rape than white men, it is so so so so soooo important that we don’t default to this position of like abolition for everyone except the people we deem “irredeemable” like we have to look at the societal issues at play here this is the whole fucking point of abolition and restorative justice and I know it’s hard to swallow but come onnnnnn u cannot call urself an abolitionist if u cannot get ok with the fact that it includes EVERYONE
"so youre saying we should just allow rapists and abusers to remain in society?" where else would they go ⁉️😭🙏 so confused can you show me this place outside of society

Carlos Sainz and rumored new girlfriend, Y/N - everything you need to know
By F1Gossip Contributor
Rumors have been swirling around the paddock this week as summer break comes to a close and the drivers are set to make their return this weekend. Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz, was caught at the beginning of the break leaving a posh dinner with a mystery girl. Since then the pair have been spotted out at dinner again, in a coffee shop and even driving around in Monaco.
Fans have been speculating that the mystery girl is, Y/N Y/L/N and the most recent sightings of the two in Monaco all but confirms this.
Now you may be wondering - who is Y/N? Y/N is your normal corporate girly by all accounts. Our sources have shared that Y/N met Carlos by chance one night in Australia while she was on vacation and he was out celebrating with some drivers. Not much is known about her - she’s from [home country], works as a [insert job] and has been with Carlos for at least a few months now. Currently all of her socials are private.
Carlos soft launched their relationship via instagram just a few days ago. We have to wonder - will we see Y/N in the paddock this weekend?

The side effects of newly discovered COVID-19 strain XEC might not be as severe, but is part of the more contagious variant class, experts say.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines XEC as recombinant or hybrid of the strains KS.1.1 and KP.3.3., both from the Omicron family that became the predominant strain in the U.S. late December 2022.
The variant, which first appeared in Berlin in late June, has increasingly seen hundreds of cases in Germany, France, Denmark and Netherlands, according to a report by Australia-based data integration specialist Mike Honey.
XEC has also been reported in at least 25 U.S. states though there could be more as genetic testing is not done on every positive test, RTI International epidemiologist Joëlla W. Adams said.
"We often use what happens in Europe as a good indication of what might happen here," Adams told USA TODAY Friday. "Whenever we're entering into a season where we have multiple viruses occurring at the same time, like we're entering into flu season, that obviously complicates things."
What is the XEC variant? New COVID strain XEC is a recombinant strain of two variants in the Omicron family: KS.1.1 and KP.3.3.
The hybrid strain was first reported in Berlin late June but has spread across Europe, North America and Asia with the countries Germany, France, the Netherlands and Denmark leading cases.
Is the XEC variant more contagious? While there's no indication the XEC strain will increase the severity of virus, it could potentially become a dominant strain as Omicron variants are more contagious. However, current available COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots are particularly protective against XEC as it is a hybrid of two Omicron strains.
"These strains do have the advantage in the fact that they are more transmissible compared to other families, and so the vaccines that are currently being offered were not based off of the XEC variant, but they are related," Adams said.
Like other respiratory infections, COVID-19 and its recent Omicron variants will increasingly spread during the fall and winter seasons as students return to classes, kids spend more time inside and people visit family for the holidays, according to Adams.
How can we protect ourselves from XEC and other variants? The CDC continues to monitor the emergence of variants in the population, according to spokesperson Rosa Norman.
"At this time, we anticipate that COVID-19 treatments and vaccines will continue to work against all circulating variants," Norman said in a statement to USA TODAY. "CDC will continue to monitor the effectiveness of treatment and vaccines against circulating variants."
The CDC recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older, with some exceptions, receive an updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the virus, regardless whether or not you have previously been vaccinated or infected.
Norman urged Americans to monitor the agency's COVID Data Tracker for updates to new variants.
KP.3.1.1:This dominant COVID-19 variant accounts for over 50% of cases, new CDC data shows
What is the dominant strain of COVID in the US? COVID-19 variant KP.3.1.1 is currently the dominant strain accounting for more than half of positive infections in the U.S. according to recent CDC projections.
Between Sept. 1 and Sept. 14, 52.7% of positive infections were of the KP.3.1.1 strain, followed by KP.2.3 at 12.2%, according to the agency's Nowcast data tracker, which displays COVID-19 estimates and projections for two-week periods.
KP.3.1.1 first became the dominant strain in the two-week period, starting on July 21st and ending on August 3rd.
"The KP.3.1.1 variant is very similar to other circulating variants in the United States. All current lineages are descendants of JN.1, which emerged in late 2023," Norman previously told USA TODAY.
COVID XEC symptoms There is no indication that the XEC variant comes with its own unique symptoms.
The CDC continues to outline the basic COVID-19 symptoms, which can appear between two to 14 days after exposure to the virus and can range from mild to severe.
These are some of the symptoms of COVID-19:
Fever or chills Cough Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing Fatigue Muscle or body aches Headache Loss of taste or smell Sore throat Congestion or runny nose Nausea or vomiting Diarrhea
The CDC said you should seek medical attention if you have the following symptoms:
Trouble breathing Persistent pain or pressure in the chest New confusion Inability to wake or stay awake Pale, gray or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds

we’re pulling at each other like magnets ¡! ❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— synopsis: it’s the end of the semester and your last few chances with your favourite accounting classmate danielle before summer begins.
— warnings: mainly fluff, some angsty moments here and there, mentions of kissing, like one curse word in the entire story, based entirely in australia (au).
— w/c: 1.7k
a/n: danielle had me blushing in this as i was writing it out, help. based off of chan’s song, hope you guys like it!
the sun shone down brightly at the stable ground below. the parrots continued to dance around in the sky, happily chirping away at the heat radiating from the sun. trees brushed lightly amongst the buildings as the warm breeze flew through. the honking of cars filled your ears as you made your way around the campus.
ah, yes. summer has finally hit australia.
you thought as you carried yourself through the crowd of people as the semester had finally come to an end. you loved all your classes and you knew you would desperately miss them once they were over. you headed on over to where your marks were posted; right outside of your accounting class, praying that you had passed after working so hard for the final exams.
you reached the door where the marks were typed up onto pieces of paper and taped up against the glass of the door. you flipped through the pages until you spotted your course number. you bit your lip as you hesitated to let your eyes scan towards your final grade. breathing out in relief as you saw that you had passed with an 87 in the course.
you smiled to yourself as you took a step back, trying to breathe in all of the memories you had made in this course; with your friends and with your professor. your professor loved you because of how focused you were in his class but also because of how much you made him laugh. you felt yourself get emotional as you remembered that your accounting professor was retiring and that this was his last semester in australia.
“y/n?”
you jolted as you heard a voice. you looked around stupidly to figure out where the voice had come from until your eyes stopped on your classmate from accounting class.
danielle marsh—your only friend in accounting class who managed to fluster you no matter how hard you tried to keep a straight face.
“hey danielle!” you grinned at her as you saw a curious expression coating her face. she had always been there for you, whether it came to helping you study in the library for tests or even just going on walks when the world felt too heavy around you. you knew she was the one you would miss the most during the summer. sure, you had her number to message her whenever you missed her but something about being around her had your heart beating tenfold.
“sorry to scare you! i just wanted to say goodbye before the summer. i’m going to miss sitting next to you in accounting class” she spoke softly while gazing into your eyes. her heart was aching the moment she found out that this semester was coming to an end and now that you’re standing in front of her, she wishes she could sit next to you in accounting class in every lifetime.
“i’m going to miss you too, danielle. especially the jokes we would make with professor kim. i hope you don’t forget about me!” you joked at the end as you replied to her.
“fool, i would never forget you—not in a million years, not ever,” she said as she playfully punched you in the arm.
you only chuckled, not having much to say as you stared into the distance at the people making their way out of the campus site. your heart pounded against your chest as you saw danielle continuing to stare at you in your peripheral vision.
“so, i guess this is it? i mean, semester’s over and it’s time to go enjoy summer now,” you broke the silence. you felt like a loser as you jittered around. for the first time you felt awkward around her. it was odd since you two had always been really good friends.
“yeah. this is it” danielle sighed out; she truly didn’t want this to come to an end. not after how fun this semester had been, all because of you. she slowly spread her arms, initiating one last hug before you two were on your way into the world.
you walked into her arms, gently wrapping your arms around her. you two felt euphoric as you remained still against each other. she softly patted your head while you felt tears prick at your eyes from all the memories you had made with her. after all, she was the one that made you feel the most at ease, she made you successful whenever it came to anything. she had the patience for you that you didn’t even have for yourself.
you two finally let go of each other, stepping back with a small giggle as you two had tears coming out of your eyes.
the sun had changed directions now, headed for bed as it seemed from the colors it spewed out into the sky. birds had also began to make their way home, tired from all the flying around. the cars had started to honk much less than they had done before. evening glow was cast upon australia. shades ranging from pink, purple, and blue had been unevenly spread throughout the sky.
you had said your final goodbyes with all your friends, some of which were simply freshmen at university and others were graduating. your mind raced back to the time when you had just began university. you knew that high school graduation ended emotionally but for some reason you didn’t expect your junior year at university to end this way.
to all the friends you had made and to all the friends you saw graduate from university, this semester was by far the most emotional one. even the air had begun to feel humid from all the emotions still lingering in the air.
you saw danielle with her friends, giggling at some joke they had probably cracked about professor kim. she looked over to you for one last time and smiled. you smiled back, breathing in all the memories you had made in this campus during this semester.
you put your hands into the pockets of your jeans and began to walk towards the main gate. the evening was beginning to feel a lot cooler as you made your way to the bus stop. humming along to whatever random song had been shuffled to play now.
you felt droplets kiss against your skin as the heat of australia got to the sky. crickets chirped as the wind blew more harshly against the trees, shaking them out of their little homes. you closed your eyes, trying to relish in the feeling of being young.
out of the corner of your eye, you saw danielle once again making her way to you. she had probably missed her bus or couldn’t catch a ride since her parents were always out on business trips. she ran to you with her textbook placed on her head, giggling as she almost tripped onto the pathwalk.
“are you okay?” you asked, while also trying to hold in your laughter.
“yeah, i think so,” she said, a little dazed from the humidity getting to her.
you two stood in silence as you held her textbook for her while she tried to fix her hair that had been getting into her face, all sweaty, due to all the heat there was. you checked your phone to see how far the bus was since you had been standing there for nearly twenty-minutes before danielle had appeared.
“here, i can take the textbook back. thank you y/nnie” you blushed slightly at the nickname.
“no worries! also, i think your bus is here. bus 777, right?” you questioned as you made her aware of the vehicle pulling up. she simply nodded as she stepped closer to the curb of the bus stop.
“bye y/nnie!” danielle said as she hopped onto the bus. she sat down, gazed back at you, and waved as the bus had begun to drive away.
you sighed in agony. you couldn’t do much either way, danielle was on her way home now and you had probably just lost your chance. thunder roared from the sky, rain drenching you as you stood out waiting for your bus.
suddenly, you heard somebody practically racing your way. before you even had the chance to figure out who it was. their body crashed into yours, lips making their way onto yours in desperation. your hands naturally wrapping around their waist. your body physically calmed but your heart raced at the thought of who it was.
“are you insane? how could you just let me hop onto that bus? how could you just let me say goodbye? do you even realize how in love i am with you?!” danielle yelled out questions as she got off of you, enraged at the thought that you would let her go so easily.
“i-i..” you stuttered as if you just had realized what happened. first, you had been furiously kissed, then you got yelled at because she's in love with you. you slowly grinned from ear to ear as you stared at danielle in confidence.
“you’re in love with me too?” you questioned curiously as if it wasn’t already obvious.
“yes you idiot! i’ve been in love with you from the moment you began cracking jokes in professor kim’s class. it only hit me when i was in the bus that if i didn’t say anything today, i’ll regret it forever,” she mumbled the last few words, pouting as if she was scared to let that become a reality.
“i’m so fucking in love with you, dani,” you spat out as you softly reached for her waist and placed your hand on the side of her face, pulling her near you as much as you could.
before you knew it, your lips were on one another's.
you knew you would never let her go, you two craved the same direction, after all.
ah, yes. summer in australia was just about to get even better.

“Two sources familiar with the case but not authorised to talk publicly confirmed to Guardian Australia that a class action filed in New York was one of the possible avenues being considered.”
Hate to share the guardian (using “allegedly” when there are pictures, first hand accounts, none of the vile worms who attacked the jews Doxxed have been identified or even investigated, and the perpetrator !Natasha Frost! Already apologized and admitted to it is a wild fucking word choice. Also they put quotes around “creatives” in the article like a leftist would.)
let’s all pray and hope that both the nytimes and her get class action sued into bankruptcy.
Also they say “filed” not “filing” so maybe it’s already being done if the writer can actually use English correctly.

When I refer to zionists as textbook genocide denialists, btw, I'm talking about literal textbooks I was assigned in my genocide studies classes. Here's an excerpt from one, Genocide: A Comprehensive Introduction by Adam Jones, detailing common genocide denialist arguments. I've bolded arguments that I've personally heard from zionists (including ‘neutral’ fence-sitters, who are on the side of the oppressor by default) — during the current Gaza genocide, but also in reference to the entire history of the genocidal zionist occupation. It's important to learn to recognize these arguments and call them what they are, genocide denial, rather than excusing denialists as simply misinformed or misguided.
"Among the most common discourses of genocide denial are the following: 'Hardly anybody died.' Reports of atrocities and mass killings are depicted as exaggerated and self-serving. ... Photographic and video evidence is dismissed as fake or staged. Gaps in physical evidence are exploited, particularly an absence of corpses. Where are the bodies of the Jews killed by the Nazis? (Incinerated, conveniently for the deniers.) Where are the bodies of the thousands of Kosovars supposedly killed by Serbs in 1999? (Buried on military and police bases, or dumped in rivers and down mineshafts, as it transpired.) When the genocides lie far in the past, obfuscation is easier. Genocides of indigenous peoples are especially subject to this form of denial. In many cases, the groups in question suffered near-total extermination, leaving few descendants and advocates to press the case for truth. 'It was self-defense.' 'The onset of [genocidal] killing,' wrote Jacques Sémelin, 'almost always seems to involve this astounding sleight of hand that assimilates the destruction of civilians with a perfectly legitimate act of war. From that moment on, massacre becomes an act of self-defense.' Murdered civilians - especially adult males – are depicted as 'rebels,' 'brigands,' 'partisans,' 'terrorists.' The state and its allies are justified in eliminating them, though unfortunate 'excesses' may occur. Deniers of the Armenian genocide, for example, play up the presence of armed elements and resistance among the Armenian population – even clearly defensive resistance. ... Genocide may also be depicted as an act of pre-emptive self-defense, based on atrocities, actual or alleged, inflicted on the perpetrator group in the past – sometimes the very distant past. Sémelin, for example, has explained Serbs’ 'insensitivit[y] to the suffering they caused' in the Balkan genocide of the 1990s in terms of their inability to perceive any but 'their own woes' ... A substrategy of this discourse is the claim that 'the violence was mutual.' Where genocides occur in a context of civil or international war, they can be depicted as part of generalized warfare, perhaps featuring atrocities on all sides. This strategy is standard among the deniers of genocides by Turks, Japanese, Serbs, Hutus, and West Pakistanis – to name just a few. In Australia, Keith Windschuttle used killings of whites by Aboriginals to denounce 'The Myths of Frontier Massacres in Australian History.' ... Sometimes the deniers seem oblivious to the content of their claims, reflecting deeply embedded stereotypes and genuine ignorance, rather than malicious intent – as with the CNN reporter who blithely referred to the world standing by and 'watch[ing] Hutus and Tutsis kill each other' during the Rwandan genocide of 1994.
'The deaths weren’t intentional.' The difficulties of demonstrating and documenting genocidal intent are exploited to deny that genocide occurred. The utility of this strategy is enhanced where a longer causal chain underpins mass mortality. Thus, when diverse factors combine to cause death, or when supposedly 'natural' elements such as disease and famine account for many or most deaths, a denialist discourse is especially appealing. It buttresses most denials of indigenous genocides, for example. Deniers of the Armenian and Jewish holocausts also contend that most deaths occurred from privations and afflictions that were inevitable, if regrettable, in a wartime context – in any case, not genocidal.
'There was no central direction.' Frequently, states and their agents establish deniability by running off-duty death squads, or employing freelance forces such as paramilitaries (as in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Darfur), criminal elements (e.g., the chétés in the Armenian genocide), and members of the targeted groups themselves (Jewish kapos in the Nazi death camps; Mayan peasants conscripted for genocide against Mayan populations of the Guatemalan highlands). State attempts to eliminate evidence may mean that documentation of central direction, as of genocidal intent, is scarce. Many deniers of the Jewish Holocaust emphasize the lack of a clear order from Hitler or his top associates to exterminate European Jews. Armenian genocide denial similarly centers on the supposed freelance status of those who carried out whatever atrocities are admitted to have occurred.
'There weren’t that many people to begin with.' [*] Where demographic data provide support for claims of genocide, denialists will gravitate towards the lowest available figures for the targeted population, or invent new ones. The effect is to cast doubt on mortality statistics by downplaying the victims’ demographic weight at the outbreak of genocide. This strategy is especially common in denials of genocide against indigenous peoples, as well as the Ottoman genocide of Christian minorities.
'It wasn’t/isn’t genocide, because ...' Here, the ambiguities of the UN Genocide Convention are exploited, and combined with the denial strategies already cited. Atrocious events do not qualify as 'genocide' … because the victims were not members of one of the Convention’s specified groups; because their deaths were unintended; because they were legitimate targets; because 'only' specific sectors of the target group (e.g., 'battle-age' men) were killed; because 'war is hell;' and so on. 'We would never do that.' Collective pathological narcissism occludes recognition, or even conscious consideration, of genocidal culpability. When the state and its citizens consider themselves pure, peaceful, democratic, and lawabiding, responsibility for atrocity may be literally unthinkable. In Turkey, notes Taner Akçam, anyone 'dar[ing] to speak about the Armenian Genocide ... is aggressively attacked as a traitor, singled out for public condemnation and may even be put in prison.' In Australia, 'the very mention of an Australian genocide is … appalling and galling and must be put aside,' according to Colin Tatz. 'A curious national belief is that simply being Australian, whether by birth or naturalisation, is sufficient inoculation against deviation from moral and righteous behaviour.' Comedian Rob Corddry parodied this mindset in the context of US abuses and atrocities at Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad. 'There’s no question what took place in that prison was horrible,' Corddry said on The Daily Show. 'But the Arab world has to realize that the US shouldn’t be judged on the actions of a ... well, we shouldn’t be judged on actions. It’s our principles that matter, our inspiring, abstract notions. Remember: just because torturing prisoners is something we did, doesn’t mean it’s something we would do.'
'We are the real victims.' For deniers, the best defense is often a strong offense. With its 'Day of Fallen Diplomats,' Turkey uses Armenian terrorist attacks against Turkish diplomatic staff to pre-empt attention to the Turkish genocide against Armenians. In the case of Germany and the Nazi Holocaust, there is a point at which a victim mentality concentrating on German suffering leads to the horrors that Germans inflicted, on Jews and others, being downgraded or denied. In the Balkans, a discourse of genocide was first deployed by Serb intellectuals promoting a nationalist–xenophobic project; the only 'genocide' admitted was that against Serbs, whether by Croatians in the Second World War (which indeed occurred), or in Kosovo at the hands of the Albanian majority (which was a paranoid fantasy). Notably, this stress on victimhood provided powerful fuel for unleashing the genocides in the first place." * Zionists make two demographic claims to deny genocide, and specifically to deny the Nakba: the first parallels what Jones says here — that there weren't many (or even any) Palestinians ("Arabs") in Palestine to begin with, and/or mass expulsions were actually voluntary migration. The second is a reversal, where zionists point to demographic data and claim that Palestinian population growth must mean genocide never occurred (as if genocide survivors aren't capable of having children). For further reading on Nakba denial specifically, Nur Masalha's work is a good place to start, especially The Palestine Nakba (2012), Politics of Denial (2003), A Land Without A People (1997), and Expulsion of the Palestinians (1992).

So subsequent to being a robodebt victim I sort of fell into this funk of ‘not only is there no point in trying, but in fact it’s better if I don’t, bc every time I have ever tried to do something good it’s backfired horrifically, so I’m just going to make like a tree and exist, no trying to do anything for myself, just drink some water, get some sunlight, and that is all’. And recently, after a few years of living a tree-like existence, I thought ‘you know, this is illogical, like there is no rational correlation between ‘trying’ and the universe taking a big shit on you, let’s just try again, yeah?’ So I signed up for a one hour a week job and the Australian government took that as an excuse to call up all of my previous employers of the last decade to ask for payslips and as an aside tell them all I’m homeless. Additionally all my online government accounts are being overrun with entirely fake income data from a century ago, not to mention apparently thousands of dollars in superannuation I have never had. And the logical part of me is just like ‘ok cool yeah, obviously they’re mistaken, someone just got their wires crossed, it’ll work out’, but that’s exactly what I told myself the last time a whole bunch of fabricated data was flying around my government accounts bc of robodebt, so I already know what’s coming. In conclusion: irrational belief system confirmed✅

America, what have you done!
I am tonight sitting here (Australia) speechless from what has transpired these last 12 hours or so, what the hell happened?
Why on earth did he get voted back in?
What in the world went wrong?
8 years ago he was elected whether you choose to believe it or not, through nefarious means (Russia influence) at the time people fell for his charisma & charm, but soon realised just like women realise when they fall for the charm and the boyish behaviour, there’s a darker side they don’t reveal until it’s too late. Congratulations America, he revealed it pretty early on once he got his claws into the Resolution Table in the Oval Office.
We (the world) watched in horror as he separated families and deported illegals. He overspent on his billionaire friends and made middle and working class suffer. Had no health care plan, no infrastructure or employment plan. No commerce or education - nothing, zilch. He employed sycophants who bowed and grovelled to do his biding (half of them his own family - nepotism much?) he ran America like one of his bankrupt businesses and almost brought America to the ground. He was responsible for not taking responsibility when a pandemic hit the world and over 1 million died under his watch.
America impeached him twice, investigated him multiple times. Decided then they’d had enough and voted him out. You had four years of peace, of prosperity, of employment health care, higher wages and lowering costs. Your country opened up again and healthcare was restored, you started bouncing back, you’re coming has never been better. Meanwhile he ranted and raged the election was stolen, even though every court hearing and document was thrown out. America had turned a page in history for four years.
What the hell happened?
Joe Biden stood for another term but that wasn’t good enough, the America media had an axe to grind and so did it seemed those who were influential in the media circus and he stood aside for a women he picked as his vice. A woman with an incredible record in prosecution and protection of law. A woman who had fought against cartels and won. A woman of scruples and integrity. Who was willing to stand up to him and hold him accountable. A man who has current,y 34 felony convictions including falsifying business records and inflating assets to hide tax fraud. A man with 6 bankruptcies and multiple accusations of predator and rapist behaviour AND YOU HAVE VOTED HIM BACK IN?
Why?
Was it because you like someone with a need for vengeance? Someone who had made it very clear he intends to run America like Russia? A man who stole your nations top secrets and in some cases sold them off? A man for whatever bizzare reason is allowed to do whatever the hell he likes with no repercussions, because he’s Donald Trump?
This is not the America I remember as a child. This is not the president I saw growing up, who took care of his people, who cared for his country, supported their military and stood up to foreign enemies.
I sit here tonight devastated for all the brave and wonderful women and men, who voted to protect theirs and their daughters basic human, reproductive and civil rights. To the persons of all colours and religions, to the victims of domestic and sexual violence. To the wonderful trans community, to the gay marriages built on love. To all those who have fought both home and abroad in service. To the dreamers who see America as a shiny beacon of light & hope. To those who have crossed many roads in search of protection, in a country who had always welcomed you. I feel all of your sadness and anger at what has transpired.
None of this makes sense, none of this adds up.
Kamala Harris was a future light of hope and peace, of working with both sides for democracy to move America forward - now it seems she will be pulled back into the darkest part of her history. Back to when women had no right to vote, no opinion that was listened to, no voice protecting her own body.
She will be silenced once again.
Immigrants will no longer be welcome.
The church will control what happens in marriages and government decisions.
You will no longer be accepted as a trans or LGBTQ+
If you suffer a medical emergency during pregnancy, you will be forced to endure the consequences of either the child dying inside you, or be forced to give birth at “God’s will” Rape is just a word - a pregnancy from it will be unfortunate but a necessary as your right to choose will not matter anymore.
None of this adds up.
I will not accept that a man who got almost the exact same amount of votes as he did in 2020 can be declared the winner and Kamala only got 60 million, where did the other 20 million go? The votes came in too quickly the declaration called too soon. I’m by no means a conspiracy theorist but the math doesn’t add up?
Bomb threats - is America the Middle East? Interference through social media via Elon Musk and China. Giving away money to people who would vote for Trump. It stinks like rotten fish on a warm summers day here in Oz.
My final take.
If I devoted my entire like in government, in prosecution, in upholding the constitution - I would have questions, I would want answers as to how this happened with no increase in Trumps collective votes from 2020, he didn’t increase, he stayed the same.
President Joe Biden in his last few months of power, should launch an investigation because it’s not a case of well America decided to perform a lobotomy on itself and completely wiped the years between 2016-2020 from her memory and only remember the last 102 days, or something or someone played a hand in some very nefarious and illegal vote tampering.
Madam Vice President - do not concede.

This never gets brought up enough in "why did people used to be thinner discussions". A SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGE OF ADULTS HAD NO BLOODY TEETH. And a lot of the food tasted like garbage, of course they didn't eat much!
So, in the kindest way possible, I'd like to unpack this. Because I feel like there are some very common fallacies here.
When/where exactly are we talking about? 1780s Mediterranean France? 1960s rural Australia? New York City, 1857, upper-class neighborhood? It's possible to make some time/ place generalities when speaking broadly about cultural trends, but a lot of people talk about a nebulous Back Then so nonspecifically as to be meaningless.
My (limited) research has turned up evidence of preemptive- ie not immediately medically indicated -tooth removal and replacement with dentures, as a rare but not unheard-of practice, among young adults primarily in the UK, Australia, and Atlantic Canada around the 1920s-1970s, mostly in rural and/or working-class communities. Usually with existing tooth decay and expectations of further issues in the future. With some mentions from the US, Denmark, and the Netherlands, same time frame. So the question would then be "were people thinner in those communities at that time? if so, how much? and what role, if any, does voluntary toothlessness play in thinness if we take into account food insecurity and physical labor?"
2. People weren't necessarily thinner "back then." There are a myriad of factors that conspire to give this impression nowadays, from survivorship bias leading smaller clothes and shoes to be disproportionately represented in museums, to photo editing in eras where many of us are now unaware that it existed, to the prevalence of celebrity images over pictures of ordinary people, spotty record-keeping on the subject, improved nutrition in the modern day, beauty standards that caused people to have unhealthy but celebrated body weights, and so on. Further, the so-called "obesity epidemic" only dates back to the 1970s even among those who accept it uncritically, and the adoption of the (flawed) BMI system led many people to be newly classified as overweight who previously were not. I highly recommend historian Kenna Libes' excellent Instagram, Stout Style History, for images of larger women in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
3. You can still eat solid food with dentures (albeit sometimes with difficulties). And a big part of this whole cultural practice was the "replace with dentures" step. For the even smaller subset of patients I've read about who did it for aesthetic reasons, that was the whole point- like capping teeth today. So that's not necessarily an impediment to eating, and therefore to eating-related weight gain/maintenance.
4. Many people in many eras liked their food, or at least some of it. I know the food in mid-20th-century Britain- a nexus of voluntary tooth removal in my research, and I'm guessing where you're from due to the use of "bloody" -is notorious now, and every period and place has folks who aren't fans of some common dishes. But it's hard to believe that these people (especially after first one war with rationing and then another) were turning up their noses enough to lose significant weight, or maintain non-genetic extremely low body weights unrelated to physical labor, sports, etc.. Tastes change- in my own country, the USA, I have to believe that SOMEBODY liked those fluorescent Jell-O salads, or there wouldn't be so many recipes for them.
I hope this doesn't come off too critical or combative; I just had many Thoughts on the premise of your ask.
