A reminder to set your account settings so AI doesnt steal your art!

I’m stuck on mobile, so here’s how to do it there:

Go to your blog, click the gear at the top right, go all the way down to Visibility, and the selection tab is there.

Block AI sharing by going to your settings, then toggle on Prevent third-party sharing.

Hating the new Tumblr Live thing so for those that want to turn it off on mobile here's how. (All pics below)

Head to your profile and go to your settings wheel. Then click your Account Settings.

Dashboard preferences.

At the very bottom there is a "snooze Tumblr Live for 7 days." Hate that it's only 7 days, but better than nothing.

No matter what position the toggle button is at, I can't seem to get rid of the "processing media" popup thing in the settings (mobile).

Is this something that I have to do on desktop or is it a glitch?

I feel like I've complained about Tim's email situation in Gotham Knights before (edit: I have), but the truth of it is just so funny.

He's signed up for so many podcasts, video game streamers, and random news alerts; it's just a constant barrage of data going straight into his constantly whirring brain. Hell, he even floats the idea of the Batfamily having their own podcast as a way to correct misinformation about them (which Jason shoots down instantly), and it's made me realize something.

Timothy Drake would be a YouTuber.

In this universe specifically, Timothy Jackson Drake, the heir to Drake Industries and the foster son of the late Bruce Wayne would be a YouTuber.

Think about it. It'd be the perfect cover. Who would ever suspect that some 16-year-old nepo baby with a YouTube channel could ever be Red Robin? You'd have to be mad. I mean, look at him.

Red Robin just dropped out of literal thin air and garotted someone four times his size, and you expect anyone to believe that's the same kid who does 24-hour Minecraft charity streams and occasionally drops 6-hour video essays (his last one was on Lex Luthor's illegal bit mining operation on the moon)?

Hi, New People?

For some unfathomable reason, Tumblr has decided to suggest my blog to brand-new accounts to follow, so I've had a crazy influx of followers who, of the ones that are genuine accounts, probably have no idea what they've signed up for. (sorry.)

Oh, and I also have some new bittern-loving followers who have a slightly better idea but might not know the whole story!

for those of you who grew up in or currently live in a multilevel home with stairs (so like, stairs IN your own home, not stairs leading up to your door or communal building stairs)......

"stuff" can refer to anything besides carpeting/rugs or like, things hung on the wall. i'm talking "yeah there's just been a pile of books there since 2016 for some reason" or "yep, i put items i want to bring upstairs later there"

ALSO: if you have stairs that go nowhere rather than lead to another floor (like, as the result of remodel, they now just go up to the roof or down into a wall), do NOT count those. however please tell me what you use them for

As much as I adore conlangs, I really like how the Imperial Radch books handle language. The book is entirely in English but you're constantly aware that you're reading a "translation," both of the Radchaai language Breq speaks as default, and also the various other languages she encounters. We don't hear the words but we hear her fretting about terms of address (the beloathed gendering on Nilt) and concepts that do or don't translate (Awn switching out of Radchaai when she needs a language where "citizen," "civilized," and "Radchaai person" aren't all the same word) and noting people's registers and accents. The snatches of lyrics we hear don't scan or rhyme--even, and this is what sells it to me, the real-world songs with English lyrics, which get the same "literal translation" style as everything else--because we aren't hearing the actual words, we're hearing Breq's understanding of what they mean. I think it's a cool way to acknowledge linguistic complexity and some of the difficulties of multilingual/multicultural communication, which of course becomes a larger theme when we get to the plot with the Presgar Translators.

I spent all week hyping myself up to gather up all my work sketches like a scrapbook and clean it all up to post here, and then Kendrick had to surprise drop on a Friday morning and ruin my work day and my headspace all weekend long.

Anyway, here's a dangerous dreams sketch dump.

It's been a long quiet, but RL had taken such a fucking toll that I had a real hard time finding the fucks to get creative. Who knows how much this past US presidential election will fuck up the entire rest of my life, but I'll take solace in finding community and in the little things and in Andor Season 2 and in the telling of The Stars.

Now that I got this out of the way, guess it's time to go fucking write some fucking words.

Sometimes I’m like I wish I could sit my 17 year old self down & just force feed her all the lessons I learned so she wouldn’t keep wasting time on things that didn’t deserve it. And then I remember how utterly stubborn I was at 17 & realize that maybe everyone’s just stubborn at that age & what they rly need is to live a little a bit more & learn. & then I extrapolate that to me rn & imagine what me 2-5 years from now would want to say to me & I try so hard to behave reasonably against my deeply ingrained impulses. It’s absolutely hit or miss but it’s actually mind blowing to me how much strife I could dodge if I simply listened to the voice of reason in my head at the cost of momentary comfort
