Guys so apparently - out of 4.5, 800+ page books, SJM did not want people to pick up on the actual Elriel scenes on the page. She was both building and destroying the Elriel romance before ACOSF through a secret code that only ELs & GAs picked up on.

I'm here to translate what we should've picked up on years ago, that apparently is common knowledge amongst the other side!

SJM wanted us to pick up the 3 separate times she used sunlight in regards to Elain & the zero times it was used in regards to Lucien (but this still means they're mates)

She wanted us to notice an alleged dagger lesson Azriel gave Gwyn

And pay attention to the 183rd time someone looked at someone with amusement or challenge in ACOSF only- that specific moment which happened to have Azriel and Gwyn (and Nesta and Cassian and Emerie and the other priestesses) was more significant than the past 3 books.

She wanted us to remember that she used the word spark for multiple things in the TOG series and not remember the other time she used it in ACOTAR with Feyre & Tamlin.....

And Idk if you guys picked up on her "secret code" but she actually wrote the first 3.5 books for you to use as kindling and doorstops.

Apparently in ACOSF, through a series of Morse code blinks first mentioned in TOG and also her elusive book Catwoman, SJM basically tells us that the first 3.5 ACOTAR books are useless and we should just act like they don't exist.

We're getting into weird 'what if' territory, as in my head they're not here yet. No where close. (They're not even together in my head yet, they're still in the 'murder each other' phase). But they have too much trauma and trust issues to be this intertwined that they would kill their bosses for one another. Kura is too afraid. Takemi is too hopeful. So this is more of a possibility; though an open conflict such as this would be unlikely.

Kura would kill her boss father while he slept. Takemi would likely just hang up his garbs and quit the Sekisegumi - but neither of them are willing to do that just yet. Takemi has too much hope that Kura can overcome her demons, Kura has too much fear and guilt and respect for her father to ruin his family and end him.

Plus, Kura knows if she got away with it, she would be next in line. Which creates more issues. But, that's why he adopted her, after all. To build a child to be the perfect leader of a syndicate because his biological daughters are too precious to be in such a dangerous line of work; someone else, though. Not blood, but almost.

How do you escape fate when you have been so finely crafted for the role?

The elven isolationism must hit different if you're romancing Tyril

As someone who isn't with Tyril in my main playthrough, it felt like the elves reacting to the increasing exposure to outsiders (the battle, the Heroes of the Realms, Tyril's advocacy, etc).

But if you're romancing Tyril, it must feel very personal. Because I can only imagine Tyril and MC are going all around town calling each other uluvalir. Making it very clear to everyone that they're in love, it's Undermount that's wrong and needs to change. Especially upsetting to the status quo if MC is a human or *sarcastic gasp* an orc. And Undermount has not accepted that gracefully. Even if Bakshi (elven God of Love) has.

It doesn't matter that Tyril is from one of the most influential noble families in Undermount and MC is a hugely powerful mage who has saved the world multiple times. MC is not welcome and neither is their relationship with Tyril.

They could theoretically commit to living in Undermount forever, but why would they? Undermount clearly doesn't accept them or their love. So why let them benefit from Tyril and MC's continued presence? Why let someone restrict the person they love to be "locked away forever?" Why chose Undermount over the world that does accept them?

Instead, let's see how well Undermount can save the day alone next time.

It is also a teeny bit weird to make Zoya being prettier and thus a more ideal sun summoner be set up as thing to be proven wrong in the beginning but then Zoya actually becomes the Queen with lots of focus on how gorgeous she is and Alina fades into obscurity and wears old shawls.

I mean yeah.

Because apparently one of the messages this trilogy wanted to pass was how nothing is what it seems. Alina is not weak but very powerful, she just doesn't know it. Aleksander is not a man to be trusted but a selfish, power-hungry bastard, except Alina doesn't realize it until it was too late (*inserting dramatic tones if you didn't notice*).

Normally, Zoya wouldn't get that much spotlight. But, alas, Bardugo has said many times that she's one of her most favorite characters so she was bound to become important. A Squaller (among hundreds) became important by becoming a Saint as well.

Saints in the Grishaverse normally have very distinct, unusual powers. Alina had her light, Aleksander his shadows, Elizaveta's Materialki powers manifested themselves through her ability to control nature while Ilya didn't allow his powers to be restricted at all (he was both a Healer and a Durast as well as an inventor). Plus, they get martyred and Zoya is...well....alive.

Her push to the spotlight was, for me, too forced while, at the same time, the author tried to remove Alina's presence (as if she wasn't the main character for three books straight that the antagonist fell in love with and his plans revolved around her). Whether someone likes Alina or not, we have to admit that it's not going to be the same without her on the front. The story doesn't really make sense without her. It's like removing Harry Potter from his own books.

And it seems that whether Alina has powers or not, she stays hidden. And Zoya got what she wanted all along: the spotlight.

I feel like the existence of the skirmishers (and everything from Chimera Squad) make XCOM come across as massive pricks wrt the aliens. Like the game goes out of its way to dehumanize the aliens (exclusively referring to them as it, saying their all brainwashed and mind controlled, etc) but then turn around and have ex-Advent be people who were at least aware during their time as drones, vipers and sectoids and mutons being obviously sentient and having their own culture, hell, the Ethereals are clearly people too. And then Chimera Squad shows us a future where they're actually treated as such and nobody makes as big a deal about it as I think they should.
