i'm gonna be honest i do not see post-canon fiddauthor. ford knows how bad everything with bill was but still struggles with flickers of longing for him, for what they could have been if bill had been what he said he was. he literally rearranged ford's neurons and supplanted love songs in his brain and made him see shrimp colors. if he wasn't exclusively xenosexual before, he 100% is now.

i don't think every character needs a Happy Ever After Ship. it is nice to see them healing from trauma through romance but sometimes someone Changes you and leaves a Rot in you that never fully goes away. ford has to grapple with that for the rest of his life. he's resigned himself to that fact. he has the love of his family, and maybe the occasional hookup with a sea monster or two, but i think romance is off the table and he's content with that
