I think referring to the James Somerton situation, or the hbomberguy and Todd in the Shadows videos in general, as "YouTuber Drama" is really underselling the level of academic dishonesty, intellectual theft, and malicious misinformation being discussed and spread by this man and others like him.

This isn't makeup gurus accusing each other of being inappropriate at a birthday dinner or a philosophy channel getting in hot water on Twitter for having a controversial queer celebrity do a voiceover line without fully vetting everything he's ever said.

It's large scale plagiarism and hundreds of thousands of dollars of profiting off other people's work without even credit.

(And 64k in scams. That too.)

And no, I didn't know who any of these people except Harry and Todd were until now, with the exception of MAYBE having heard of Internet Historian in passing, so I had that same "who even are these people" response as most of you.

People like James are why I cannot in good faith just Tell people my college major.

the semester hasnt even officially started yet and im already going insane over department drama. apparently the new department head has been using department funds to order himself designer satchel bags (while also trying to cut a very popular astronomy lab class due to "costs"), and told one of the secretaries that because she is the person primarily organizing the department picnic that SHE'S NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO ANYONE AT THE PICNIC?? BECAUSE SHE'S TECHNICALLY WORKING??? like absolutely going feral can you imagine how this man treats service workers. anyways my friends and i are gonna go hang out with that secretary for the entire picnic bc we already liked her and enjoyed interacting with her and if new department head has a problem with it im gonna roast his silly little $300 designer leather satchel bags that he bought on department dime

Noah didn’t used to try in school, he was lazy and made As and high Bs so why would he?

He gets paired up with Alejandro, which Noah thinks he’s just like every other rich kid, stupid and going to ask him to do all the work. But no, Alejandro questions him and challenges most of Noah’s answers, even if Alejandro was wrong he made Noah second guess himself.

That pissed Noah off so much.

Who did Alejandro think he was to make him second guess his correct answers in his favorite subject. Did he just enjoy playing devils advocate?

Slowly but surely in class Noah started to participate.

Alejandro had an opinion about an opening paragraph, Noah would tell him why he’s wrong. Noah shares his thesis, Alejandro immediately tells him what he needs to fix.

The teacher had to move their seats away from each other and yet they still argue across the classroom. Constantly challenging the other to be better, do better, have the higher grade. Until Alejandro seemingly changed his tactics.

He decided to sit next to Noah. Luckily having a substitute that day so the teacher didn’t move him.

Noah tried to get up to move but the rest of the seats were taken. Whatever, he could use this to his advantage too. Noah’s mission was to annoy Alejandro, Alejandro’s mission was to get Noah to fall in love with him.
