From Luo Binghe's perspective, he is scamming a somewhat-helpful Demon Dude who's been living under a rock, and thinks that Luo Binghe is the kind of Heavenly Demon Royalty who, when not stranded in the Abyss, spends his time leading armies or lounging around a Palace while beautiful women feed him grapes.

What Shen Yuan might do when he finds out that Luo Binge is ACTUALLY a half-human bastard of a deposed Heavenly Demon Emperor who was sealed under a mountain nearly 2 decades ago, and thus NOT in a position the Richly Reward him for his assistance?

Well, that's a question for if/when they both make it out of the Abyss alive!

DAY 25: VOID

Standing on the void. Being one step away from death. Being supported only by a chthonic deity with unknown motives and practices. Icy sweat flows on her back.

 

– It's your turn! – Zam shouts to her as if they were not standing ten blocks away from her, – don't be afraid, just give yourself up to enter and jump!

 

That's what she realizes at this moment: she can't. She had never even heard the Abyss, not even as a whisper or suggestion, as surface contact with it was described. She didn't stand a chance. She's already lost. And they didn't even try to buy it, did they?

 

– Yes, give me a little more time! – She answers and forces herself to pull herself together. She was infinitely far away from the divine bullshit, but right now she just needed to make herself feel like one of the Abyss members. It's not so difficult. She knew how to play a role, after all.

 

She just needs to- yes. She is a member of the Abyss. She looked into the Abyss and saw its deepest charms and spoke to her. She is an adepus dedicated to her goddess and the fulfillment of her will and was endowed with knowledge and abilities for it. She is devoted to the Abyss and devoted to her team, who saved her from loneliness and gave her a new home and purpose...

 

She feels a faint prick on the top of her head. She gets a strange and incomprehensible feeling of lightness. This body is both hers and not hers at all, and all the muscles are relaxed in it. She's definitely in a trance. Is this what was expected of her?

 

She slowly walks to the very edge and looks distantly at the people standing below. For some reason, she feels absolutely nothing. A whisper in an unfamiliar language covers her ears.

DAY 14: KILL

Zam swore never to make deals with the Abyss again – not because she was necessarily evil, but because her knowledge and abilities indulged him in the old ways, pushed him to violence and murder. But this time, the Abyss didn't ask for anything from him – no knowledge, no sacrifices, nothing. 

She came to him in the middle of an infinitely long night, shortly after Planet got banned, and with Leo's hands, she presented Zam a sword. She does not need to say anything for him to understand that this is not a simple sword. She activates it, and ink flames rise from the surface. It's thick enough to completely overshadow the original blade.

He's scared. Leo stares at him, but his iris is completely filled with black.

– Why are you doing this? – he asks distantly, and then, hesitating, – I have nothing to give you in return, – and this is true.

Leo smiles at him. He had never smiled like that.

– It's not a commodity, – she says softly and thoughtfully, – it's a gift to my most devoted follower. 

– I haven't been led by you for a long time, – he objects, – I gave up on you even before the start of the season.

She shakes not-her head.

– It doesn't matter at all. She belongs to you.

The sword does not exude heat. Tight voidfog flows from its blade. 

– What's the catch? What is it? – he asks tensely.

– There's no catch, – she replies calmly, and Zam is forced to believe because the Abyss never lies. 

– Is this the weapon of a murder? – he asks anyway.

– It's a warrior's weapon. Only a warrior decides how to use it.

He is silent for a second. The truth is that she did not seek to harm him at any point before. Yes, she gave them dangerous magic, but they always knew the risks, and she turned the server against them, but that was their goal from the start, and she told them to feed her, and that was the perfect way to kill. But he still didn't want to take anything from her hands – maybe out of pride, or maybe out of fear.

But... along with that... It was his fifth season. He had not been a naive newbie for a long time already. He knew that all the cards were worth having.

He takes the sword, and it, having lost its fuel, turns back into an ordinary diamond sword, but even in this state feels like a torn wound in reality. His fingertips are tingling.

– Her name is Galaxia, – she says, – take care of her.

– Thank you, – Zam says anyway, because people thank others for gifts, – will you let him go? – he asks, nodding.

– Of course, – she confirms, – don't worry about him. He knew what I would take in return. 

Zam shakes his head and sighs.

– Goodbye, – he says with an incomprehensible tinge of regret.

She smiles.

– Goodbye, my child.

(He hides Galaxia in the wall of the voidhole, almost at the bedrock level – the closest place to the Abyss he could use. He thinks he's not going to take it away for a very long time. The moment turns out to be much earlier than any of his expectations)

like previous years, the au is mostly the same but has been updated, and is still about zhongli and zhongli only.

here's the main feature this year: zhongli's first job was the yanluo king. (or i guess king yanluo he has a lot of names)

which makes him as a consultant at wangsheng way funnier

Basically Evil version of Lumine and Aether.

They rule Teyvat together after defeating all Archons minus Tsaritsa who joined them.

Lumine is the true leader, Aether was persuaded by her after the end of his journey, his options were kill his sister or join her.

He obviously decided to join her in this AU.

on a completely separate note; shizun luo binghe with a disciple shen yuan who fell into the abyss??? *thinks about LBH canonically stealing SQQ's corpse for 5 years* he'd hallucinate i think. like, like visual and audial hallucinations.

Keeps thinking he's seeing SQQ in the corner of his eyes, or wandering between the trees, amongst a group of disciples. Thinks he hears him calling for him, but its just the wind or another disciple.

Gets Xiu Ya reforged but patently fucking refuses to make a sword mound. Because his disciple Is Not Dead :))) There was No Body. He's Not Dead. And If You keep Insisting That He Is, He's Gonna Skewer You :). He's holding onto Xiu Ya so he can return his most favored disciple's sword when he returns. It's on his hip right next to Zheng Yang where it's supposed to be.

Also this motherfucker?? does not sleep btw. He has the image of SQQ, wide eyed and hysterical and standing at the mouth of the abyss burned into his fucking eyelids. Can't use the dreamscape to escape it either because he keeps trying to save him and either he does and it's an incredibly cruel trick to wake up to, or he doesn't and he gets his heart broken in several different pieces again.

There is no convincing this man that Shen Qingqiu is dead. Absolutely nothing at all. He is buried so deep in denial that moles would be jealous of how deep he is. He keeps making tea for two in the bamboo house only to remember that it's just him. SQQ's fans are hiding everywhere, little reminders of his presence. He goes to wake up SQQ on the mornings he sleeps in-- only to find the room empty.
