I’m actually super proud of this piece, I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone to do something dynamic & complex with hopefully a somewhat interesting composition, and I really worked hard on it. I’ve been feeling kind of down on my art recently tbh, like I’ve stagnated a bit, and this piece really helped me to experiment a bit more & try out some new brushes & techniques. Can’t wait to experiment & draw more soon! 🩵

Read Right to Left (Manga Format)

I have returned to watching demon slayer after a year and it came up while I was having a serious late night talk with my big sister. I was talking about the relationship between Michikatsu/Kokushibo and Yoriichi and it turns out we both see each other in Yoriichi's shoes and ourselves in Michikatsu's place. Definitely surprising, but really relieving to know that we both worry too much and we are not so far apart in skill as we believe.

This is technically the first piece of fanart I've ever made for the characters in Demon Slayer, I have made OCs before but I never drew an actual character from the story. For context this is mostly just a fun "what if" scenario with them meeting in the afterlife. I like to think Yoriichi's love would reawaken Michikatsu's humanity.

im just saying i think its interesting that despite how ultimately bleak, selfish and cruel the city and its residents are - its still extremely common for people (mainly fixers) to work together. and yeah i know its because there's strength in numbers, but at the same time a lot of those people get attached to others in the offices or syndicates they work in. they celebrate together, go drinking together and some of them even fall in love with each other. despite everything, there's still love and companionship to be found in that hellish world

man i love open endings. the fact that thanks to yuuji there might indeed be the next time sukuna talks about in case some idiot decides to eat a finger again. and we need fics where yuuji is that idiot

i don't think it was talked enough about how much jon's "but what i can forgive, i do" was so important to theon's arc. like he has spent all this time drowning in self-hatred and repentance, refusing to let sansa absolve him of his past actions, and struggling to reconcile these warring identifies of his. then to come face-to-face with the person who was essentially his only equal in winterfell and to hear that blatant forgiveness is so healing. who better than jon to understand the struggle to find a place for yourself in a world where your family name is the most important aspect of who you are?

jon and theon are arguably the two characters most alike to one another yet their intense dislike and competition with one another prevented any understanding or camaraderie with one another. it's such a tragedy.

for that reason, the show's lack of faithfulness to the source material is always a disappointment, but theon and jon's meeting will forever be one of my favorite moments.
