just finished reading the hunger games trilogy and when i tell you it changed me

#screaming my head off #it destroyed me emotionally SO MUCH #but the writing is soooo good oh my god.#absolute blast #yet. i hate suzanne collins for supporting israel #honestly - SPOILER #the scene in book 3 where the capitol blew up a fucking hospital reminded me so much about the horrible crimes happening in gaza #and knowing collins got her inspo from the iraqi war (which i know quite a lot of #being born in iraq with iraqi parents)#i really hoped shed be aware of the shit going on and a supporter of palestine #because GOD the parallels are so?? strong??#mind you one of them is a bestselling dystopian trilogy and the other IS A GENOCIDE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.#i'm still enjoying the hunger games as a media - but i definetly am not a supporter of collins #uhhh yeah sorry for the politics rant #hamocrap

God the holidays were… I mean… Weird. I did have fun in places but overall, felt weird. It was very weird. However I did get to see a friend! Stayed till 11.30pm, arrived at 12. It was rather awkward with my mother sat right there, but what can you do. She seems upset that we’re not Together. But I swear! This guy is just me but with a moustache! I got to walk around and point at buildings and go “Did you know that in 17-something-hundred—“ and I had a rapt audience! He showed me how lime kilns worked when we walked by one! I love it!

It was really nice to see a friend and it was so so good to get out of this bloody awful place for a bit. I’m back now but at the very least my brother is in Germany and won’t be back for a few more days, so I’m safe there. But god. What a weird, WEIRD holiday.

#most people who meet my friend and I together think we’re a couple #usually it’s old people doing what they do lol #he’s my buddy #my mum has kinda given up hope of me ever having a spouse #she’s still not over the whole ‘I like women’ thing #and I’m not gonna explain bisexuality to her at this point I don’t have it in me #and I mean. I already do fancy someone? have for a while and I only just realised when I was buying milk a few months ago lol #but I’ll die before a) I tell even our mutual friend and b) telling them themselves #my gran did see a picture of my friend and said ‘your children would be GORGEOUS’#why are old people like this lol #I just wanna talk about local history with my Buddy My Pal my Good Time Cheese #(that’s not a saying)#we did start singing they were only playing leapfrog and got to 41?#absolute blast
