I feel like Hiccup would try to pet a bear. His thought process is “Well I trained a night fury, I can become friends with a bear!” Meanwhile Astrid is yelling at him not to go near the bear.

Can not stop thinking about this.
Style thinks there is a 50/50 chance Fadel will kill him. That means two things:
1) Snark and confidence are Style's sword and shield
2) Style is willing to die for a chance at forgiveness
Style knows he messed up. He knows he hurt Fadel. He knows Fadel is capable of killing him and has reason to. Still, he doesn't resist and goes willingly, even if he's scared, because he loves Fadel and he wants a chance to fix this. So he literally gives Fadel his life and hopes it is enough.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even when Style is being confident and cocky to Fadel's face, deep down he fears love might not be enough. Even if he believes Fadel loves him, he knows love is not a guarantee that he will be forgiven. And in moments when he is sincere, and tired, and still, and has nothing to distract from the weight of his situation, his brave mask slips, and we can see the doubt and sadness Style works hard to ignore. Style doesn't want to die, but he will if that's where their love story ends because he refuses not to try.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still, Style is going to Style. He's going to be over confident, flirty and snarky as hell because that's who he is. And if he's annoyed, you're going to know it. Style has already made the decision to see this through and he told Fadel he wont run. Style doesn't need a gun in his face to understand the situation he is in and he's probably pissed to be reminded.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personally, we think Fadel wanted to believe he was 50/50 as well, but he was just lying to himself. In the end, Style got what he wanted and Fadel got what he needed. And now they get to love each other completely open and honest.
Tumblr media
We got confirmation of this Unpopular Opinion in Styles own words!
Special thanks @tortibomb and @aprilblossomgirl for the perfect GIFS!

Sorry 'bout that. My frankness can get me into a bit of trouble. No, I like it. I like to know where I am with people. ↳ Carla Connor & Lisa Swain + "You did not mean to be cruel. That does not mean you were kind." (x)

early aaron and andrew dynamic is giving eurydice and orpheus in the sense that andrew would turn around (of course he would, that is his brother, that is his blood, he has to know aaron is safe) and aaron would spend eternity blaming him for dangling false hope before his eyes only to take it away at the end of the journey (andrew would blame himself too)

The teaching moment with Mandy is primarily about euphemisms and human expressions, and that's what they've been looking for as The Teaching Moment, even more than the hookup potential.
Tumblr media
FURTHER: In the later seasons, we see quite a few examples where Dean and Cas are bantering about metaphors and expressions, and it's because they've been practicing that.
SEE: "I don't think that's the expression." & And "I know what the expression is." Etc etc.
This also an aspect of the diner scene with Jack in Ouroboros, where, as a family, they're engaging in vocabulary banter re: the meaning of the religious term, "lithurgical."
The lost in translation of it all is so, so cute.
///
ANYWAY.
Dean has a vested interest in Cas learning "human flirting," because Dean I-talk-in-code Winchester is trying so hard to send messages, and he wants Cas so badly to pick up what he's putting down.
Mandy is a walking embodiment of Dean's "coded" porn on the show, and is thus a stand-in for Dean's desire. Dean, who smells like food. Dean, who is paralleled to the working waitress with the double-heart pin in The Great Escapist.
Tumblr media
Dean is literally "stuck in the middle" of Mandy and Cas here.
He starts role-playing to create a space that feels safer/more comfortable for flirting, without acknowledging the unspoken tension between them. Mostly, the teaching moment is about pushing Cas to look harder at sexual cues.
Dean first starts to triangulate with the "carbs" line, but Dean isn’t just guiding the conversation—he’s actively inhabiting the flirtation, inserting himself into the interaction. He interjects as an overinvolved third party, and even echoes Mandy’s “handsome” line, reinforcing that he’s playing both sides of the exchange.
It’s a brilliant use of misdirection and metaphor, reflecting the core tension in their relationship—Dean wants Cas, but he feels the need to cloak it in layers of humor, flirtation, and indirectness to avoid exposing himself emotionally.
In "showing Cas how it's done," Dean is using the responses as a way to coax Cas into responding the way Dean desires. The "when do you get off" question is not only a classic way of signaling romantic interest, but it's Dean going: "This is what I want you to ask me, Cas. I want you to ask me, when I get off so we can spend time together outside of work."
Cas has been off searching relentlessly, first for Lucifer, and then for Kelly Kline. Dean has felt that absence in ways he won't say out loud.
"She's into you," Dean says, thrilled at the opportunity to play. He's the one who overly gamifies the interaction—“Score. Double score.” He says "score" whenever Amanda signals interest: "I get off whenever I can." And finally, in the script, there's plated waffle that slams down for Cas's order, the Sunrise Special... and Mandy has made sure to slather it with extra whipped cream. "Double score," Dean says.
LOOK AT ALL THESE SIGNALS OF INTEREST YOU GOT HERE, CAS!
The waffles and the breakfast motifs remain symbolic, tying it to the "waffle poetica" we saw from Dean in the beginning of Regarding Dean.
Dean doesn't just want a hookup from Cas. He wants the morning afterglow with him—the breakfast.
///
Two seconds later, probably, Dean is giving Cas a mixtape.
Cas. Cas, baby. He is into you.

So the students of Amity Park have noticed that when Danny Fenton runs to the bathroom a ghost almost always appears right after, right? Right. And eventually it becomes commonplace for them to mentally prepare themselves and to pack up their stuff when Fenton rushes out the classroom.
BUT
What about the few times where nothing happens? Cause now you've got this classroom full of kids who just automatically shove their papers into their backpacks and just...wait. They sit there, maybe making jokes about who's going to show up and at first it's all easy going but then. Then the anticipation starts to get to them. It's that nerve-wracking feeling of Knowing something should be happening But It's Not.
There's a slight buzz of nervous energy by the 5 minute mark where nothing has happened yet. It sets them on edge. Everyone is silent, shifting their gazes from the windows, the clock, the door, trying to spot anything of the usual. There's absolutely nothing.

I say this in the best way, but your characters feel like they're from an obscure but really good piece of media, and you feel like the artist who always draws the two main characters as ghay lovers

The way people view Bing-mei as a villain for having an appropriate (and I’d argue it’s actually pretty damn tame) reaction to being an abuse victim needs to be studied as a critique of how society very easily turns against victims who do not appropriately perform victimhood. In the story, the cultivation world outside of Cang Qiong Mountain are in the dark about how Luo Binghe was treated pre-Abyss, but we the audience know! We know he was abused horrifically for his first 14 years of life, 4 of those years under his shizun. Three years of kindness before being kicked into hell is not going to erase the scars left by that abuse. And just because we the audience also know that Shen Yuan’s Shen Qingqiu was not responsible for those first 4 years of Luo Binghe’s life as a disciple, that does not mean that he is let off the hook for them as the person assuming Shen Qingqiu’s identity, let alone the fact that he is the one who still forces Luo Binghe into the abyss, not Shen Jiu.
Meanwhile, Shen Qingqiu, himself, knows that he wronged Luo Binghe and spends the rest of the novel attempting to make up for it. After all, the abyss, itself, and that final act of betrayal are a point of trauma on their own level above those previous years of mistreatment combined. Shen Qingqiu never absolves himself of his actions the way fandom does for him, but the fact that he feared Luo Binghe’s retribution is somehow enough to flip who the victim is and who the abuser is in too many people’s minds. Even Bing-ge and Shen Jiu get this treatment: people act like because Bing-ge allowed his resentment to consume him in his thirst for vengeance that this not only absolves Shen Jiu of the grotesque abuse he subjected a 10-year-old to for 7 years in an attempt to kill him but that it also makes Shen Jiu the “ultimate victim” of the relationship rather than the reaper of the seeds of abuse he sowed. Cause as we all know, vengeance makes a villain, but somehow baseless abuse does not (🙄).
People take fear (or claims of it) as the sign of “true victimhood” while anger is assigned as an “abuser emotion,” especially in cases of abuse where the abuser is well-liked, and I see this sort of idea in the stated reasoning behind 95% of the Luo Binghe hate.

thinking about what apollo and nahyuta's relationship would be like immediately post-aa6 is funny because yes they haven't seen each other in over a decade and when they did finally meet again nahyuta was acting like a total dick but. while i think things would be awkward (sometimes extremely so) at first, i don't think there would be any, like, coldness to the distance between them. maybe there would've been if they didn't find out dhurke was dead together and then also got held at gunpoint (during which apollo kept trying to run his mouth until nahyuta in particular begged him to stop) but considering All Of That Happened.....i think there would be a sort of frankness between them. like yeah they still have to tackle the whole "apart for over a decade" thing but unsurprisingly it's a lot easier to do so when the absolute terror of potentially losing each other, so soon after dhurke's death, is recent enough to still be breathing down their necks
#i've been looking around and looking at people's different interpretations of how it would go#and i've seen both ends of the spectrum i.e. 'they act like they never left each other immediately' vs.#'they are constantly at each other's throats' and i don't think either of those are really....right. at least in my opinion.#i think Everything That Happened would inspire a sort of frankness between them that isn't really shared by anyone else. which makes sense#given that despite so many years apart they were still raised together from the time they were babies. apollo was a year old or less#when dhurke pulled him from the fire and nahyuta is older than him by a year or slightly less. even when they were apart there was never#a time where they weren't aware of the other's existence because absence is a reminder in and of itself#so. frankness. and a combination of starting anew and picking up where they left off during their first separation in their own way#they are not the same kids that they were then and that's obvious to everyone and ESPECIALLY them. But.#fear is a powerful motivator. and that same fear that turned apollo into a stuttering mess when ga'ran threatened nahyuta and#led nahyuta to literally beg apollo to shut the fuck up lest he be shot in front of him is‚ i think‚ what would enable them to push through#all that initial awkwardness. aa has never been about perfect family relationships but it HAS always been about love. and the love is there#as little as i think of the writing in the game...the love was definitely there. it persists so they persist. so it goes

Battle in ink
||Tw: Calypso||
"I wander in search of a light upon your desperate face!”. Lascivious nymph of chalky fingers, elusive as an eel, murky and cold, let her burning fingers glide across the face, damp and cold, of the castaway.
Burning, sweet and vile bones of the nymph kept slithering, searing. In unnoticed possession, never truly casting spell or charm. "I keep begging Theos, for you to never leave me!.”
Odysseus, still, awaiting turn in this dance: "I am… searching…". Words escaped his lips, from his very depths within, man of thousand paths and missteps, struggling to chart this step.
Laërtes’s sweet words had carried him from Skýros to Ílion, Ténedos to Lēmnos. Voids of air slipping through his mind:
"By walking, one makes path, and upon glancing back…" Back, all his steps yearning to be undone.
"One sees the path that feet had crossed enough." Path by gnarled trees hiding Home. Olives, in which this infernal reef refused to sprout.
"Son, there is no path, but wakes upon the sea." Wakes Foamy paths in which Ithákē was built. United archipelago his domain. A kingdom never seen since his arrival, In barren foam turned his sweetness lost
The Ithacan monarch had never let his father’s wish fall to ill thought, but before the nymph who boiled his lymph and blood, he let those words fade.
Calypso waited, anxious, reluctant. He had been her lover, but what was there to expect from him?
From the weeper on her isle?. From the twat who never follows her in the daylight?. Yet he cried her name in her empty chamber under starlight?.
The eel coiled the wolfish sailor in its embrace while; Odysseus, man of a thousand tricks and wits, shot her a sharp grimace: Belly, chest, and face, At the two first, without joy, only indifference or ire, but in the last?. He gifted a lecherous and cold gaze in equal measure to the one he saw each dawn, in the second rosy fingered dawn by Calypso’s hands.
"Calypso, my queen." Anyone who heard it would have read the lie in his voice, the false melodic inflection, the lack of harmony as a neglected lyre’s threads, as his broken voice upon the cold sand of that bay.
"Forgive my rude behaviour," the honey he tried to wrap in his mouth was as insipid as his regard for his jailer. Learned movements directed at an essence, absence, breathed life into the corpse of 600 lives lost..
"My girl, my queen, the woman who waits for me." Penelope at the tip, a name so perfect and pure, so easy on his lips, cried out forcefully to escape from the voice of this liar.
"If I had…" he hated in his soul, hated, as in his name —the one that is hated—, the universe who cursed him in name and fortune. The Ithacan writhed within while the nymph?. Smiled, naïve.
"Knowing your embrace was so fine," fine as the skin of sharks, who knows how many of his men were devoured by those sea dogs.
