a little more serious answer: they can tell something is going on with optimus and they desperately want to pretend it's not. they don't want to know how he's aware of things he shouldn't be, how he knows stuff that should have long been forgotten, how he seems to be more familiar with them than he should be. how sometimes he speaks and it's like the dead are talking through him. how sometimes he will answer to empty air and somehow they can just tell what he's responding to. who he is talking to.

they Know. and they really, really want to pretend they don't.

they already carry the guilt of failing them once. the idea of doing it once more is unbearable and they'd rather deceive themselves than face it. they'd rather their friends stay dead and gone than think of them seeing what they've become.

cannot stop thinking about the scene where the being/sir sparklepuff lands on aaravos in the middle of the fight in the last episode, and aaravos is so thrown off for a split second (iirc pretty much the only time we see him that way in that whole fight!) like. there's something there that i don't quite have the braincells to connect rn. the fact that the being was in the in-between at all, when it seems to be implied that he knew he was the sacrifice/was okay with it, and even aaravos seemed discomfited by his presence in a way that's entirely different from his demeanour in the rest of that fight. something about how casually aaravos treats the being and his sacrifice when he is also his child, whereas leola and at this point even claudia's deaths either did or would unbalance him (and he outright states this about claudia too in the same episode). like we saw the being's role in viren's arc very clearly but i'm very much wondering what place he has in aaravos's, and if/how that'll come into play

Immortal Leon. Like, you've just got Merlin over there sulking about while he waits for Arthur to return. Then there's just Leon, living his best immortal life, doing the most randomest shit known to mankind
