Abernathy Darwin Dunlap x reader

How you meet: The first time you and he met was in a café in town. You were sitting at a table near the window and that's when he entered. At first, you were skeptical, the way he acted told you he was super hyper, especially for an adult. "Hi there, my name is Abernathy Darwin Dunlap, but you can call me ADD, On the count that I have A.D.D. It's an attention deficit disorder. You know a lot of people thought it was a sugar addiction when I was six, and my mom used to cry cause she thought I'd never be a fully functioning member of society, like my neighbor who has Legionnaires disease!" he says chuckling and sitting down at the seat across me. I chuckle at his sudden burst "Well Abernathy, it's nice to meet you, I'm y/n! So, do you live here in town or outside of town?" he thinks about it for a second "Well technically, I don't live here, I go to South Harmon Institute of Technology here, but when it breaks and such I go right back home and visit, which is outside of town. So I guess it's a mix of both!" you nod and continue to talk to him, talking about loads of stuff, such as favorite games, music, hobbies and finally talking about our favorite foods and drinks. " So you go to South Harmon huh, Did you walk over here, or did someone drive you over here?" "Well, I walked, which is like my favorite thing to do on Sundays, Since I don't have to go to church anymore, My friends at South Harmon can't drive me anywhere. So I walk, cause it helps me calm down and also my meditation classes are a big help, but it's not the worse. Just everyone that bullies me at Harmon isn't nice, cause like, I guess they think I'm weird. But it's not my fault you know?" You listened intently to his words, taking it all in and trying to understand what he means. When he mentioned bullies that set you off a bit. "You get bullied! That's ridiculous Abernathy. Listen I know I don't know you that well but let me drive you back, please?" He looks down, covering his face with his hands, when he looks back he's smiling like a dork. "Sure y/n! I would love that!"

Second meeting: You and Abernathy had planned on meeting again at the same place but later that got cancelled. He blamed tests he had to study for, then again there had been many times when he had tests before, and he blew off studying to meet up with you, so you had your suspicions. You had talked to the guy that was in charge at the college and asked him if you could visit Abernathy. Surprisingly he said yes and let you come in. He told you the directions to his room and you were on your way. When you made it to the front door, all over it were post-it notes, all saying something rude and degrading. Pissed off you start to rip them off the door, balling them up in your fist you knock on the door. "Abernathy? Abernathy, It's me y/n. I came to check up on you, Let me in please!" after you say this, you hear light steps on the other side of the door. It then opens slightly and all you see is the left side of his face "Y/n, w-what are you doing here? Listen, I'm sorry I canceled are hangout, I-I-I just ha-have to study for this test that's coming up and it's really hard!" "All the more to let me come in and help you. That's what friends are for, right? Friends help friends and in this case, you have to study, let me help you do that?" he puts his head down and opens the door all the way and lets you in. Putting his head down in the process, he walks over to his bed and sits down. You see no books or papers or anything that screams 'test'. "Abernathy, whatever is happening to you, you can tell me. You may not trust me and fear that I may judge you like everyone else, but I'm not an asshole. I care for you and I am not gonna stand by and let some preppy assholes mess with you! I know that's what this is, I know you're being bullied. Just please, Ab, let me help you! Show me your face..." He starts to shake and you can tell he's crying. You walk over and sit next to him, hugging him you bring him closer to you. Leaning your head against his, he turns his face towards yours. You can see the bruise under his eye, his nose slightly red, eyes puffy and red from all the crying. You wipe away the tears gently and go to hug him again. This time though he pushes you slightly and you fall back while he is still hugging you. The position now is you laying on your back and him laying on his side next to you, his head in your neck and his right arm draped across your stomach. You both lay there in comfortable silence. Suddenly you hear slight snoring, smiling you hold him closer and fall asleep next to him.

What he thinks about you: Well he has a bit of a crush on you. He likes you and feels very confident in the way he approaches the situation, which in reality, is a lot of him blushing and stuttering when he talks with you. Even though he may not realize it, you and he have a thing? Like your together, but he's still trying to figure out relationships and things a boyfriend would do. Of course, he's freaking out a bit, so you reassure him that everything is ok and that he will be an amazing boyfriend, and he is! The sweetest boyfriend you've ever had. He likes to play games with you, like hide and seek, would you rather, truth or dare, you name he'll play it with you. So in his eyes, he's just a big ol' jolly camper and loves being with you!

When he realizes he loves you: Well today was normal, you stop by and visit him, keeping him company while he's doing work. You even got to walk him to one of his classes today, well that was what you thought you were gonna do, you just didn't expect this dude to just approach you both and immediately smack Abernathy's stuff out of his hands. " Hey, Jackass, why don't you fuck off huh!" You say shoving the guy in front of you. picking his stuff up, you grab your bag and put it all in there. Coming back up the guy is even closer to you now, even more pissed you give him a warning "Jackass, are you fucking deaf! Fuck off or I'll fuck you up!" You grab Abernathy's hand and go to pass the guy. He pushes you back and rips your hands apart and shoves him to the ground. "How about you come and hang out with me instead of this loser? I can show you a good time!" You nod "You know, when I was in college, a guy like you tried to get me to go with him, and you know what happened to him? I put him in the hospital, and I'm not afraid to put you there either bud." He chuckles then grabs your hand "Come on babe!" Smiling you rear back your other hand and punch him in the face, you hear a crunch and he falls, he groans and stays on the ground. Turning to Abernathy who has yet to get up, helping him you start your way to his class. "Oh shit, you need your books don't you?" You laugh slightly getting his stuff out of your bag, when you go to give it back to him, he's just staring at you in awe. " What you looking at?" "You stood up for me. No one has ever stood up for me before.....Thank you Y/n!!" He then hugs you and squeezes to the point where he is picking you up "Alright Ab, You're crushing me!" He sets you down grabbing his books that accidentally dropped when he picked you up. "Well, I'll see you after class for lunch y/n!" He says walking a little way and suddenly turns "Could I get a Bacon sandwich for lunch today y/n? They don't have any here and they're my favorite, so please, Pretty please!" Laughing at his behavior "Sure thing, I'll get you one, but you get to class now!" You say and he's off like a light and turns into a room quickly.

The moment he saw you hit that guy, he was immediately and totally in love with you. He was sure you were his soulmate and knew that you were the one. So you could say this was the real moment he realized he loves you. I mean the way he acts around you, makes you feel so happy, So of course, you love him back, tenfold!

His favorite thing about you: The way you accept him for how he is. He never had someone love and care for him as much as you do. I mean he has his parents, but the only time they were ever proud of him was when he got accepted, I mean that's all great and such but like, What the hell Mom and dad? Was there never any other time when you were proud, Well I don't know about them but, you are always proud of him, how dedicated he is to his classes, the way he pays attention, cause you know that can be a problem. You are always so proud of him, and he is so fucking happy, you don't even understand how happy! He even likes to brag to his friends, about you. How he goes 'Oh they are so amazing!', 'They just accept me for me and they help me so much, I'm so lucky!' literally every day. That's what he loves about you and it couldn't be any more sweet!
