this is a Trobed prompt?? kinda?? partly a HC??

I'm making an Abed Playlist rn and it got me thinking about an alternate universe where Troy becomes an artist. I think like Donald Glover he would use a stage name, but only because LeVar Burton told him "your name kind of reminds me of that kid from High School Musical" and he remembered when that movie first came out people called him "wildcat" and he hated it. it would either still have Childish in it because of the boat, something like "Childish Buttsoup" OR, because this is how Donald Glover actually made his stage name, troy could use a Wu-Tang clan name generator, and it would be "Mercurial Rascal" (which is what I got when I put his name in).

sailing around the world without stopping takes 100 days, but it probably takes him more like 3-5 years. He would've had the time to make at least a couple albums, I think his debut album would be called "Abed" because of course it would be.

he would probably become some-what popular, maybe averaging a couple hundred thousand listeners a month, so there's definite speculation among fans who Abed is. I think it would be funny if Abed didn't know about the album until someone on Twitter tagged him in a post trying to figure it out, the person who tagged them being like "haha wouldn't it be funny if this random famous director was actually the Abed in the album and not a strangely named middle-eastern woman?? haha gay is funny". then Abed listens to the album and first realizes "oh shit that's troy" and then "oh shit Troy dedicated an entire album to me". I feel like Abed is more of a melody person so he wouldn't really catch on to the lyrics boiling down to "Abed I'm in love with you. Abed I am not joking I am literally in love with you" he's too busy kicking his feet and giggling

so when Troy gets back Abed of course is like "I love the album why didn't you tell me about it" and troy panics because he was NOT SUPPOSED TO FIND IT, WHO TOLD ABED ABOUT THE ALBUM?? WHO TOLD AB

i love being talked about 💅 when i imagine the reader persona for my abed drabbles funnily enough i’ve only imagined them in circumstances outside the study group besides one scenario which i have yet to write. the scenario in question is actually an annie!reader. you sit in annie’s seat and have a similar personality. probably because i love annie and i ship her and abed. since it was either completely outside the study group or an annie!reader i didn’t give the reader itself too much of a “thing” per se. the situation probably won’t ever call for it. great ask

"Guys, I've realized something about myself" Jeff said with a big smile on his face as he entered the study room. The rest of the group looked up at him.

"You are gay" Pierce guessed.

"Uh, no" Jeff shook his head as he set down his bag by the leg of the table and sat down. "I'm... Aromantic"

The room went still.

"Sorry, you're whatnow?" Shirley asked. Everyone else seemed equally confused- Except for Britta, that is.

"I call bullshit" the blonde spoke up. Everyone looked at her. Jeff seemed uncomfortable.

"Um-

"If you're aromantic, what's with all the advances you've been trying to make on me since day one?" she asked.

"I think you're hot and wanted to have sex with you, not a whole relationship" Jeff said and then winced as he realized how that came out. Britta scoffed. "I didn't mean it like that"

"Okay, Jeff" she rolled her eyes. The man looked hurt, which was odd, but seriously who the hell did he think he was? There were people out there who were actually aromantic and here he was flagging the label around because he had commitment iss-

Abed walked into he and Jeff's dorm room and took in the sad expression on his roommate's face.

"So, what's aromantic?" he asked. Jeff chuckled humorlessly.

"You heard what Britta said" Jeff sighed. "It doesn't matter"

"Britta tends to do surface-level research on a lot of things, but she rarely actually makes an effort to understand them" Abed replied. "I'd like to know what it means to you, since you're the one who this is actually about"

Jeff smiled weakly at his friend before taking a deep breath and giving an explanation.

"I've just never saw myself in a real relationship with anyone" he explained. "Romantically, I mean. Sex is nice. Friends are nice. But the idea of dating someone just isn't all that compelling to me" he continued. "And it's not just an issue of not wanting to commit"

"Okay" Abed said. Jeff stared at him for a moment.

"Okay?"

"Okay" Abed repeated. "Do you want me to tell Britta that?"

"No, no, I'll do it" Jeff replied before groaning in annoyance. "This whole thing is so dumb..."

"I don't think it's dumb"

"Well, thank you, Abed"

"Britta, hey" Jeff said meekly as he approached the blonde in the line of the cafe. She rolled her eyes and looked away but didn't tell him to fuck off, so he supposed he could continue. "I want to talk about what happened"

"Are you done pretending to be something your not so you don't have to own up to your bullshit?"

"Britta, I'm not pretending to be anything, I-"

"Right, right" she laughed humorlessly. "Of course. Because big and mighty Jeff Winger never does anything wrong"

"Britta, lis-"

"He'd never treat a woman like an object he can just fuck and then throw out. No, no, cause he's different and special"

"Brit-"

"He's 'aromantic', so it's all perfectly well and good if he-"

"BRITTA!" he shouted and a few people turned in their direction, concerned. Britta's mouth clamped shut as she stared at the agitated man. "Sorry... Sorry, I didn't mean to yell" he apologized. She still said nothing. "I just... Look, I'll buy your breakfast, but please just... Sit and listen to what I have to say?"

"Okay, Jeff" she agreed quietly before pulling out her phone to text him her order as she sat at one of the smaller tables.

He returned a few minutes later with two coffees, a croissant, and the sandwich that Britta had asked for as well. He sat by her at the table and handed her her breakfast before contemplating his next words, grateful that she just remained patient.

"I've never felt... The urge to get romantically involved with people" he explained. "It's not that I have a fear of commitment or anything like that, I just don't want it" he continued. "And yeah, sex is nice. I like having sex with people, but just so long as we're... Friends. The thought of anything becoming more than platonic fuck buddies just... It isn't appealing to me"

"...Jeff-"

"What?"

"I'm sorry" Britta sighed. Jeff's eyes widened. "I mean, I'm sure you can understand why I was on guard, but still... I shouldn't have said those things. If this is how you really feel, then I'm sorry, and I accept you"

"So... Does that mean we can be fuck buddies now?"

Jeff walked in for study group with a weak smile on this face. "I'm gonna try this again"

Abed smiled. Britta nodded.

"I am Aromantic" he said, this time with more confidence. In response to the confused looks, he continued. "It just means I don't feel the want or urge to date people. I don't feel that spark, and I'd like for all my relationships to remain platonic"

"Oh, okay" Troy nodded genuinely. "That makes sense"

"Thank you for telling us, Jeff" Shirley smiled.

"This actually makes a lot of sense" Annie laughed lightheartedly.

"Pierce?" Jeff asked, looking at the old man. The man seemed to consider this for a moment before speaking.

"So... You're still gay, right?"

Soulmate au (draw on each other’s bodies) trobed

Troy, not a nerd, doesn’t like having nerdy Star Trek doodles and doctor who quotes and iron man theories written on his body. Especially because in the locker room everyone else just has to do lists groceries and small abstract drawings. So he writes angrily for his nerdy little girl (he’s a hetero football man obv) to stop. (Maybe he will secretly remember each movie soulmate really likes and when alone watch it) it’s better to have no soulmate than a cringe one because again hetero football man don’t like emotions and being tied to one girl. Also he only ever draws dicks, boobs or math equations to cheat. Or girls phone numbers. (When people write on his cast, would that show up on abed?)

Abed does stop. He uses a notebook for his movie thoughts (or uses invisible ink that he can reveal with his flashlight) he’s slightly hurt and confused as to why his other half is so mean and different and hateful of him. (He decides soulmates are BS(?))

At greendale college, everything is like canon, abed never draws on himself, Troy without his football team doesn’t get ducks drawn on his face while drunk at a party and is actually studying so doesn’t really need to cheat. They are clueless. But abed is very passionate about the movies soulmate was. And maybe the 7 start talking about their soulmates? And then they get together with an angsty misunderstanding guilty confession and the world is happy again.

“What are you doing?!” Annie exclaimed, waving her arms to get her roommates’ attention. They both turned to face her and looked at her as if she was an oncoming train and they were deer grazing by the tracks.

“Well, we want to attempt the Spider-Man kiss, so we thought that one of us could hook our legs over the fire escape and the other could stand on the level below it,” Troy explained. He was currently standing with one foot inside their apartment and one foot out the window, much to Annie’s dismay.

“It seemed like the easiest solution and authentic enough to the source material,” Abed added.

“Is there...I don’t know, maybe a safer way you guys could do it? One that doesn’t involve hanging off of the fire escape?” Annie asked hopefully.

“Hm...I suppose that we could use our bunk bed,” Abed reasoned.

Troy gasped. “Our bunk bed! How did we not think of that yet?”

“I did. I just wanted to utilize the old brick wall outside as a background,” Abed said.

Annie shook her head as Troy climbed back through the window and latched it shut. “That seems like a better idea. And maybe I could sit on the top bunk and hold your legs down so that you won’t fall? And help you back up when you’re done?” she suggested.

Abed nodded. “That seems like a much better idea. Reduces our chances of injury.”

“Great. I’m happy to help,” Annie said with an almost relieved smile.

“I’m happy that you were here to say something before one of us fell off the fire escape. And that you’ll still help us do it!” Troy said cheerfully.

“Of course. Now, the question is...do we take our bed into the Dreamtorium? Or do we make do in our room?” Abed wondered aloud.

“I don’t know, it would be kind of cool to render the environment to make it more realistic...” Troy said.

“Hey, Annie, want to help us move the bunk bed?”

Her smile widened, knowing that this would likely be the start of one of their many great adventures. “Of course I do.”

“I’m glad to have your commitment early, because we’ll probably have to take the whole thing apart and put it back together,” Abed noted as he stepped into him and Troy’s makeshift room. “This might take a while.”

“That’s okay!” Annie quickly assured him, “I don’t care if it takes forever as long as I get to spend time with you guys.”

Her statement elicited an audible “aw” from Troy, who stepped over to wrap her up in a tight hug. Abed quickly joined his roommates, delicately placing a hand on each of their shoulders.

“Maybe when it’s all done, we can rotate and each take turns being Spider-Man and Mary Jane!” Troy enthusiastically suggested.

Annie laughed as he let her go and Abed set to work inspecting the bunk bed. “That sounds great, Troy. Just...promise that you won’t let me fall when I’m Spider-Man.”
