i try to remind myself its all in good faith but its my biggest pet peeve when im opening up to someone about what ive been struggling woth and they try to tell me how /i/ operate and that maybe im at fault for how im being affected. they focus on what im saying through a suspecting lense like maybe i misunderstood the situation and im affected for no reason, instead of talking to me like a friend who i can feel is on my side. and they start to list off very obvious things that i already tried doing but this didnt cross their mind before giving me their unasked unsolicited advice. as if i love struggling and am just continuing to struggle for fun and im complaining for fun and im sooooo dumb that i didnt think to do anything about it. fuck off

Sniper tf2 mentality

Today I will be talking about Sniper's personality because I often see people portraying him DRASTICALLY different abd I wanted to understand what's going on and why all of the interpretations are correct (in my opinion)

Let's name the most prominent thesises:

Sniper is shy and introverted.

Sniper is unhinged and bloodlusty and is annoyed by people.

Why do i think that these aren't exactly contradictory?

I think at this point it's safe to assume Sniper is autistic (I mean lol this is easier to prove than to disprove). As an autistic person myself, I can see why he could be perceived like that.

Sniper doesn't talk to people and mostly observes them and the situation. Very in tune with his profession. That, however, might be perceived as being shy or very introverted or both. People love talking and expect others to share information, yet Sniper never says half of the things he's thinking about.

But let me tell you, it's NOT because he's shy. If he was shy, it would show in his body language as being stiff and rigid. He's not. His body is pretty relaxed and takes enough space. Still crosses his arms, but in a "don't bother me" way, not a "please don't judge me" way.

He's just disinterested.

I relate to it a lot in real life! People at my job think I'm too shy to talk to them, but no, I just DON'T WANT TO. I'm not scared of any if you, there's just nothing to talk about. I don't know your business, you don't know mine, our interests don't collide. If I talked to you about my interests you wouldn't listen anyway. Small talk? Ew, are y kidding me?

However, I like to listen. I'm an extrovert personally (unexpected huh) so I love being around people, but it doesn't mean I have to takk to them. I'll just sponge the information they are babbling about so I know my community better. When I meet new group of people where everyone knows eachother but me, I'm not going to feel awkward, it's perfectly fine to observe.

Sniper seems to fit into this kind of behaviour too. So he's not shy in a social anxiety sense".

NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THE BLOODLUST!!

Yeah you all know his in-game voicelines. You feel either horny or assaulted after he rolls these sadistic words on his tongue. Yes I said sadistic, are you gonna argue?

"We professionals don't give speeches we just take a shot" he says in the comics. OH YEAH? IS THAT WHY YOU HAVE THE MOST FUCKING VOICELINES OF ALL OF THEM??

Have you ever noticed how much attention he puts into saying how 'professional' he is? Like, yeah no shit, they all kinda are. But why, unlike other mercs, he insists on calling himself a professional with standards and morals, detached from emotions and feelings, so much???

There's literally no reason to be ashamed of being a killer and to admit that you enjoy killing people, you were hired to Mann Co. for that specifically!!!

My assumption: it's a personal disgust towards himself and his anger issues. I've said it before already and I will again.

His so called 'shadow side' that he suppresses so much. It loves to cause people pain, it loves releasing the inner anger, it is being feral and impulsive in nature. Sniper cannot let himself be like that for whatever reason. He's already built a clear picture of what he is in his head and he doesn't want to destroy that.

The only time he allows himself to be a monster is in the battle because it comes naturally. However, when it's not a situation of adrenaline rush, when people want to talk about his persona face to face, he starts to defend himself and bury his face under the lies he believes in.

And THIS is anxiety. To be scared to be truly perceived. Not like many people tried, but I assume he wouldn't like it.

Bro really thinks he doesn't have feelings lmaoooo imagine being so emotionally immature the only way to process your emotions is to shot a human dead.

So, is Sniper anxious? Yes. Is this social anxiety? No, he's not shy. Is he an unhinged murderer? Yes. Does he identify as one? No. It's really a little bit more complicated than the two thesises from the beginning.

He's a person. Obviously not mentally healthy. High dimensional. Can be potentially broken or healed in terms of a good character study.

I might be very wrong though and most of the assumptions are simply guessing by grasping the patterns, but usually when I analyze someone like thus, it turns out mostly right. But correct me if you feel like it.

Hello folks.

So, I waited a while to let everything marinate in my brain before writing this. Haven is an interesting album to discuss in the grand scheme of the Trench discography. Everything feels familiar & status quo, but different, new & exciting all at once. Its production is fantastic throughout and truly allows for everything to shine. It’s also their most cinematic album to date, which is saying something given what Astoria was inspired by.

So let’s break down each track, shall we?

A Normal Life: Already gushed about this one when it came out and my thoughts haven’t changed one bit. This just might be my new favourite opener. There’s just a little sprinkling of everything from all across their discography that allows this beauty to marinate and stand on its own.

Lightning & Thunder: I’m torn. I like it still, but I do think that when you listen to it within the context of the album it loses something. It was definitely made to be a radio single. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I’m Not Getting Better: Straight to the point, catchy & fun. I really have nothing else to say on the song.

Down To You: Arguably the biggest earworm on the album. This one gets in your head and it just stays with you.

Now or Never: The By Now of the record for me. Soft & yet full of momentum all at once. This is a dream worth fighting for, indeed. Also, while both INGB & DTY show off a more R&B/Funk flow, it really sticks on this song, and now that you’ve noticed it, you’ll be hearing it a lot throughout the record.

Into The Storm: Hello, Porcelain. But also… it’s own thing. It might not be giving up, but I don’t see it as surrender either. I see it as going with the flow, facing your problems head on. This is also the first true dive into Josh’s relationship with Amanda on the album, and how he’s so happy they finally figured out how to co-exist.

Ancient History: Oh hi, Astoria. You mind if I take elements of Burning Up & Yesterday and blend them into something new? And how about the past arguments in his and Amanda’s relationship don’t matter, and how it was nice to meet back up with her. It shows how time can heal relationships. Also, SAXOPHONE. That is all.

Stand and Fight: The actual Porcelain of the record. People thought they were gonna go in a This Meets War for this song, when instead it’s a slow burn that truly stays with you.

Turn & Run: Here’s how you do a sequel song and then make it stand out from its older brother. Much like the combos of Celebrity Status/Perfect & B-Team/Toy Soldiers, both sides of the coin make me giddy inside. And holy cow… welcome to the edge indeed. That hint of Fix Me screaming… I need more of it Josh. Please? I’ll be a good girl. There’s also a lot of Masterpiece Theatre II on this one. Easily my favourite of the short songs.

Worlds Collide: I go back and forth on this one in my head. There’s parts of me that love it, there’s parts of me that feels it’s too similar to the two tracks before it…. And then we have the end. And that just… made me smile. Also, I love Josh SCREAMING “Nobody’s Safe” and the fact they left in the vocal crack. That’s how you can tell his emotions are in full display here. So yeah.

Nights Like These: The comforting palette cleanser after three songs hit you with whiplash back to back to back. It’s very reminiscent of tavern songs, sea shanty’s & is just a warm hug of a track. Also, breaking down the fact that sometimes it’s nice to have just a cozy, relaxing night with friends. Feels like the Who Do You Love of the record too.

Remember Me By: Um, Micheal? Did you just possess Josh again? This feels so 80’s R&B I can’t help but love it. Also, Ian! Nice to hear you sing, bud. We’ve heard the other three all throughout this record and now we get your voice on top of the amazing percussion. Kudos.

Haven: So, here we are. The closing track. And, it’s good. It feels like they took The Killing Kind , Masterpiece Theatre III & End of An Era Abd threw them in a blender… and the result came out great, but… it does lack something to me? And if anything, it brings out the fact this album fits into the Relationship Theory too: It is about starting anew like I said ages ago but also about how their relationship (Josh & Amanda) isn’t perfect but he loves the imperfection now that they’ve figured out how to make it work. She might’ve broke his heart once but he reconciled & became stronger because of it. And now he can show that all across these 13 tracks.

So yeah. Haven’s likely my album of the year, and I do like it. But I do think that while it has some of the highest highs the band had ever reached, I do think they didn’t fully nail the Hero’s Journey theming & that it’s not as cohesive as some of their other work. It’s a sturdy S-, easily #2 or #3 in my overall rankings, even #1 depending on the day.

Your life is precious to him, a life force that he’d never put on the line; he’d sacrifice himself if it meant keeping you alive and well

Loss was a part of his job, he’s already lost countless friends and students, he couldn’t lose you–that would break him

So on one of your missions together when he saw you just stop mid-battle as a curse was seconds away from tearing you apart–he raced into action, adrenaline coursing through him as he ran faster than ever to get you

Your portal was open, it was there for you to easily defeat the lower level curse before you, but you just stood there

That’s when he knew 100% that something was going on with you

He’d seen little signs of it before, like seeing you distance yourself from him little by little, noticing the dark circles under your eyes, your sudden reckless actions, mood swings– all the signs were there, yet you managed to cover it all up so well

It wasn’t until this very moment that it became certain you were trying to die–you were trying to leave him all alone, how would he move forward without you–the love of his life?

This mission was supposed to be simple, he invited you for the sake of spending more time together since you were slowly pushing him farther and farther away

Almost losing you wasn’t in his agenda for the day

He could feel his pulse echoing in his throat as he pulls you away from the curse, quickly exorcizing the last few curses before approaching you

His adrenaline is still racing, so his initial response is rage

“What were you thinking?! Were you really trying to get yourself killed?! Your portal was open, why did you freeze up like that?” He chokes up on his words, falling to his knees before you as tears fall from his eyes, this snaps you out of whatever trance you’re in

You hadn’t seen Nanami so worked up to the point of crying since he lost Haibara back in high school, that’s when you realize what a mistake you almost made

“I-I’m sorry” it’s the only thing you can manage to say to him

He tries to calm himself down, feeling exhaustion hit him from the sudden adrenaline rush

“No, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap, I just…I almost lost you. I can’t allow that to happen. I don’t know exactly what’s going on with you that you felt like this was your only option, but I can’t lose you, Y/N. I love you so much, you’re my everything, please don’t leave me. Please” he begged, taking your hand in his as he leaves kisses to the back of it, scared to let you go, in fear that he’d never feel the warmth of your hands again, never feel your heart beating against him again…he was terrified

You didn’t think being gone would affect someone so much, sometimes you forgot that you had people in your life that really cared for you, your depression clouding your mind so much

It isn’t until you both go back home and settle down when you open up about your struggles with him

Your internal battles and your troubles at home that all became too much to handle at times

He’d quietly listen to every word you had to say, tracing circles on the back of your hand whenever you stopped speaking at times, finding it difficult to emotionally open up to someone, but he was there. He cared. He really cared

Nanami would ask you what you’d like him to do; of course he’d help in his own way, like asking if you’d like to speak with a professional for help, but if not, he’s more than okay with helping you in any way he can

Moving forward, he keeps a closer eye on you, whether it be holding you more often, inviting you out, staying at home, talking things out–he’d go to the moon and back if it meant helping you feel better and not wanting to leave this world without him

One day at a time–you just need to get through each day one by one, and you’re definitely not alone, he’d be right by your side, taking your hand and walking every step with you

Hi, in the lieu of the lastest chapter of MHA I want to do a post bc ...I almost fall on the mistake to respond the izu hate vitrol

To all the stans of shig and LoV, please, if you have to hate a person for what befall on Shig ...hate Afo or hori (NO DEATH THREATS! HE IS NOT IMMUNE TO CRITICISM BUT HATE AND CRITICISM ARENT THE SAME) but not Izu!

Take a wild guess who is blamed for all Shig did? Izuku Midoriya ofc.

And is bizarre how you lot are ready to jump on the Izu hate when he is, canonically, the only one who wanted to save shig...who btw doesn't deserve an ounce of consideration from Izu. Shig is undeveloped (to be fair, Izu is too. But if you guys call him deku knowing it means useless, then please let's all call Shig the dark deku bc he is a broken doll who can only destroy)

Shiga has show, canonically, he doesn't value any life. He is a terrible leader, he is immature and knew afo was manipulating him and went along (guys all I cited here is pure canon)

I talked to @bibibbon about this and like what would even be Shig's plan here? He knew afo was manipulating him....so he was waiting for an opening ....in the worst time possible?

This legit makes me think of Aizen and Ichimaru from Bleach. To summarize: Ichimaru decided to betray Aizen ....when Aizen was in god form. Poor choice, poor plan indeed

Yes and no. Grooming would imply he spend time with shig, and what is showed is how...afo tossed shig aside, communication happened, ofc, but it was via phone or cameras....why?

I don't think Afo groomed shig, per se, it was more coaxing him to the worst conclusion....and shig says yes.

At the end of the day, while we can blame afo ... shig's actions are his.

Now onto Izu. Izu who values himself so little ...he went to save Shig bc anyone is worthy saving but him ...and you lot think this is normal or smth to mock Izu. Izu lost his quirk and arms (yes, he got it back) to save a man ...he barely knows. Everyone wanted to kill him and they are right. Gran Torino is right here and yet...Izu tried....but Shig failed himself.

"I'm destruction" He says.

Izu tried to save a monster.

And the monster choose death.

The only plotline Hori gave to Izu ....and he failed. Please be mad at the author for his abysmal incompetency here. The moment shig accepted afo he was extra doomed.

Abd even if in the next chapter Shig is brought back....what good this will give? He will rot in prison.

spark n fark are still a rural couple that are known for shenanigans and still get in a lot of trouble often in their small town but now theres a supernatural twist to it.

okay so me n a friends reasoning for fark being vampiric and spark being a werewolf is we imagined a LOOONG time ago fark would really enjoy using reaper jester. its a brutal powerful outlet for a lot of his anger hes never really had a chance to fully express. abd what with its inherent fixation on others' energy/lifeforce/blood/whatever and specifically how to Drain it it gets easy for fark, someone curious about life, to latch onto reaper.

we both kinda nudged into the idea of people changing gradually qith the use of Any jester power, not only reaper, so thats where the demonic esque appearance came from, not really what looks like a traditional vampire.

however in this spinoff au of a spinoff au theres not really Powers. i think the need to feed is just something fark has had through whatever means, havent figured out how he got it yet.

spark is the werewolf for reasons i already explained its just the association i have with her! rumors about her spread that shes a lot stronger than she looks and all the kids in the town think shes a werewolf and she does nothing to contest it. if anything she feeds into it because 1. she doesnt care what people think 2. people arent gonna believe it anyway its just "the small rural town rumor" 3. it takes attention off fark, who is trying DESPERATELY to hide anything about his own situation from others.

this hiding, on top of him being disgusted by feeding, makes fark really hold out on eating for as long as possible and then loses control from that hunger. his form keeps gradually changing the hungrier he gets so spark and co Usually have a bit of a warning but he always tries to hide that too so he often loses it for a bit until he eats.

hes had many a scolding where sparks like i have to go out and kill wildlife and eat it raw weekly AND avoid authorities for hunting out of season AND deal with that huge mess afterwards, and you cant drink a little blood!?!?!? IDIOTTT

X (Darling's Alter Ego)

First Meeting - X met Yulian and charmed him into marrying them. After some time passed, Darling was killed and it devastated Yulian.

Infinite Dystopia - Yulian went on search for Darling abd sometimes stumbled into X instead (all meetings varied)

Loose End Noose - Yulian met Darling and had to save them from Eleanor.

Utopia - Varied meetings but all are vanilla ^^ (Until it's yandere genre mode on... it's mostly only around the Dystopia route)

I can't say much because I do plan on writing a story for this... but let's just say the first few meetings were unpleasant yet pleasant for X, you, Yulian, and the others. Lots of parties involved in your death, lots of trickeries used against each other.

finally started miracle mask! (yes im speedrunning the games because hyperfixation is still going strong)

its obv different from the ds games so i have some thoughts!

-i love that they made the episodes a part of the games now! it was one of the best festures for me in the last game, i was overjoyed to see it again

- the use of 3d is not as fleshed out as i saw it in plvspw (obviously) and im a little sad since the hand drawn sprites were lovely...its still very layton aesthetic and i can see they put lots of care into the models AND i love that the 2d animated scenes are still there (i think those are outsourced based on the credits? so if artirts got a break from use of 3d im fine with that)

- counterpoint: THE BUNNY GAME!!!! gosh i didnt think they would basically nintendo dogs their way into a professor layton game but im going to kill everyone in the room and then myself if anything haplens to that bunny.....AND we get a choice???? AND we get idle animations???? and the fur texture is 10/10 please im going to cry and i dont think it would be possible without 3d

- not sure how i feel about change of UI...on one hand its a staple from then on (since i played katrielle way before this) and its much easier and less time consuming to have the magnifying glass; on the other, i loved poking different random places to find puzzles and collection items so im going to miss that (in fact, collection items are not as fun without random poking tbh) + i know they fixed it at least in plvspw but not being able to use the buttons still is lowkey a pain in the butt when playing on the go and pain in the hands generally, you changed the UI please make it accessible for hand pain i beg

-just in addition the horse minigame was fun as hell, i love horse games and it was very badass of them to ride horses (and a donkey???), i would play professor layton spinoff horse ranch game anytime

i also think it was the case with the last game at least but dont prequels seem....easier? in terms of overarching plot twists? i havent played far yet but i alrrady have some inklings about the resolution which wasnt the case even in curious village (abd in diablocal box my late theory was 100% wrong)

i dont think it says anything about quality of writing but as a person who mostly predicts the ending in most media it was so fun to not know whats up until the last second...plvspw also had that effect on me so i assumed all games would be the same

im still enjoying professor layton to the max tho, one of the best series ive ever played through

for the first one, I feel like it was originally (in Legends) just to get her parents out of the way so she'd has a reason to ally with Ky Narec and make her story more tragic. She was the daughter of two warlords who were killed by an opposing warlord (who also killed her Jedi Master eventually), and she ran away after their deaths. In TCW she wasn't orphaned at all but she was given away by the Nightsister nad her mother (who we see in a flashback in the episode "Nightsisters"), and was later raised by a slave owner who was killed by Ky. So she's basically an orphan to benefit her origin story.

yessss Rattatak!!! my glup shitooine. my love my sunshine my favorite Star Wars planet ever. It only appears in a few comic issues and two tv episodes and I'm still not sure what is the appeal it has on me but I love itttt. It's the planet Asajj grew up and was trained as a padawan on, and it's this war-ridden wasteland with bald people and a whole lot of problems. There's not much lore for it, and most of the lore there is comes from the Old Republic video games that I haven't played, but its people are prone to have Force Sensitivity and I just like its vibes. I have a lot of headcanons about it and the wars there, and I love the Rattataki a lot, it's just a fan playing ground for me and it may not sound like it but it is miles more interesting to me than Dathomir.

a fun fact um wait a minute. when developing her younger model for the flashback in "Sisters", Katie Lucas wanted her to have a mohawk. that led to these fucking concepts (from TCW season 3 witches and monsters featurette)

also she canonically once stole a Wookie doll from a Gungan child for some reason (hyperspace stories 3). very silly of her

my favorite source material for her is Star Wars: Republic #60. it's Obi-Wan and Alpha 17 trying to escape her castle and find out her origin story. I'm very normal about it. It's honestly a great issue for her and it establishes many of the things I love most about her (Ratttatak, Aidus, Ky, Warlord Origin, castle Ventress, and more). Haden Blackman's writing is in is so good. the cover is amazing. a close 2nd is her Clone Wars (2003) appearances for many reasons. least favorite is very very unexpected. Dark Disciple. I don't need to just erase it from existence I need to travel back in time to the pitch meetings where it was suggested and burn the paper and the computers it was written on. For the whole version of ID in my head, I imagine they can also drink animal blood, like they definitely hunt humans but it's more like. A rare occurance because I don't feel like people go into the woods in small enough groups at night that often, especially with the knowledge that a lot of people end up dead in the woods in that area? I think human blood would be most preferred tho, like they'd need less of it and especially if they need blood to strengthen up after injury, animal blood wouldn't suffice.

Keeping that in mind, I imagine Ripley did tag along on a hunt in that period where she wasn't part of either coven yet. She expected they'd just chase some deer and she'd properly get out the pent up feeling of Needing To Chase Something and get a nice meal afterwards. The idea of killing animals also wasn't fun to her, but in a way it felt morally better than the whole blood bag stuff. Plus she eats meat anyway, it'd just be something she'd have to desentisize herself to? But then in the middle of the hunt everyone ended up being like 'Wow Ripley you're so lucky, there's people in the woods tonight!' And in the moment she joined in, everyone's excitement actually hyped her up! And in the moment it felt great and the cries and pleas just didn't make her feel Anything.

But then afterwards she looked at herself in the mirror, covered in blood and it all dawned upon her what just happened. And she was so fucked up about it all like 'what the fuck have I become..' And thinking about how she killed people who likely were innocent and had hopes and dreams abd a life and how their families would get the news and have to mourn them, how they wouldn't even get to see the bodies because they were too mangled. And in that moment she just swore off hunting. And instead looks for alternate ways to deal with her prey drive.

Before the hunt she was disappointed that Cas wasn't part of the hunting party that night, but honestly, if he was it would probably not have been great for their relationship, because Ripley would've been mad at him afterwards if he didn't ground her and talk her out of it. And I don't think he would've because in the moment there was no hesitation from Ripley because she was just focussed on satiating her thirst, really.

Eventually she'll join the Clements, I think at first she just hated the idea because she just hates Lewyn so much lol 😭. I don't think it'd affect her relationship with Cas much, I think it's actually better if that whole side of him just stays mostly hidden from Ripley, though she understands him better after turning into a vampire herself and noticing how it even changed to way she thinks and views humans to some degree. The idea of Cas being in a relationship with TWO Clements is also just really funny to me.

Also Ripley's first hunt is really similar to how I imagine Cas' first hunt, like regarding being 'lucky because there's people in the woods rn.' But they dealed with it very differently because whereas Ripley felt like she should not embrace that part of herself and shamed herself afterwards, Cas pushed through and pushed any uncomfortable or complicated feelings about it away because it was just part of being a Real Vampire.

Hehe, ORDER UP!

Ben was shopping for restocking the ship when he met a little boy named Luffy. Soon the kid started asking questions and Ben happily answered. The man didn't know why he liked the kid, he normally disliked kids but Luffy just pulled him into his little orbit. Luffy followed Ben for the next few days, Shanks loves the kid too but he loved even more to tease Ben about it. After a wile the crew nicknamed Luffy Ben's kid and anchor sense he can't swim.

Luffy saw Shanks as a cool older brother and Ben as a dad but being so young he doesn't realize this. Over the year the red haired pirates came and go Ben started teaching Luffy some basic stuff like math, reading, and writing.

Once Luffy was trying to read Ben helped him, and Luffy said "thanks dad!" With the brightest smile not knowing what he just said abd how it made Ben freeze in shock and happiness. Ben didn't mind the teasing anymore.

When Luffy cut himself under the eye Ben scolded him a lot. Then after the scolding shanks started teasing Luffy once again and got Luffy riled up and ate a devil fruit on accident for stress eating. It was shanks who got scolded. Bandits came in demanding booze and Makino said she didn't have any more. Shanks offered his unopened bottle then the bandit leader smashed the bottle on the red haired man. Luffy got upset and stormed out but Ben followed him to cheer him up and to try to explain that sometimes there are times to fight and when not too, Luffy didn't get it yet. After a few weeks the bandits came back dissing the red haired pirates but mostly shanks and Ben.

Shanks still loses an arm, and Luffy still gets his strawhat.

Garp drags Luffy to Dadan's. After Ace, Sabo, and Luffy become brothers Ben comes to visit.

"BEEEEEN" Luffy yelled with so much happiness. "Hay anchor, how you doing?" Ben ruffled luffy's hair. Before Luffy could respond ace chimed in "hay Luffy who is this?" Sabo nodded also wanting to know. "This is Ben! He is the first mate of the pirates I told you about" Luffy smiled once again. "aahh so this is the dad that he doesn't realize he has" Sabo joked.

After a bit Luffy told Ben what has happened sense he left. Ben went to kill the blue jam pirates before he left in a few weeks. Soon ace and Sabo started liking Ben but didn't see him as a dad like Luffy did, abd they never will.

Over the years Ben came to visit ever few months for a week or two. Sabo never got taken because Ben was there to help out.

Ben still visits Luffy once he set out, they met up at alabasta, the rest of the straw hats where shocked who his father figure and his brother was.
