Hello Miss Raven! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to ask.. About the new Vil's Birthday Grooovy. I'm curious about your thoughts since you make analysis for cards as well 😭

I'm so surprised when I just saw it-

I do write the occasional analysis for card illustration (which you can read here and here)! But I usually mark what is and isn't an analysis with tags. Most posts where I discuss card art + groovies are just opinion pieces! What is going ON at Twst HQ… 😭

On one hand, yeah, if you're going to do a sleepwear themed line, it makes sense to have... feet out. It's not like there weren't other scenarios where it made sense to have exposed feet. Leona has them out in his school uniform outfit all the time, the Scarabia dorm uniforms have sandals, the Beachwear boys and Silk Adorned boys had sandals as well. I think the difference for me is that in most of these cases, the footwear was not visible in their card art. The only exceptions are the initial artwork for Beachwear Floyd and Lilia + Silk Adorned Vil--but even then, they weren't egregious because Floyd's feet are blurred/out of focus, Lilia's are off to the left of the art and not front and center, and Vil's toes were cut off in the shot. Not the case for Relax in Room Floyd and Vil 💦 They're... very much there in full, centered and pretty detailed. It's a new angle for Twst, so it's very jarring.

Vil is a character that has extensive routines, which do involve yoga. So... in-universe, this composition for his groovy makes sense for him. The pose could have been something else for sure, but 💦 I'm sure some people must like this...? (Otherwise why would Twst make multiple of these?) But it's definitely not for me.

Feet aside, I was very shocked by. The Vil boobage 💀 It's not that his physique is different than what I thought it was (he takes care of himself and is clearly fit), I just... I DUNNO, IT'S SO DARING TO HAVE'M OUT LIKE THAT. (<- possessed by the spirit of Rollo) I know it's not the only time; his Luxe Couture outfit was low-cut too (and even his Beans Camo was pretty tight) sbdkhyuasareora I'm not used to it, I guess...

The suddenly detailed teeth, dramatically scattering the (fake) money, fucking expression… IT REAALLY iS THE SAME ENERGY 🫣

Meeting you was not what Dyxl expected!

You were strange... Unfamiliar, sure. Nite-Mite knew of Richard Graysons' love interests in the past comic issues or alternative storylines.

Maybe you were a new character implemented by the authors?

"SO..."

"S-so...?"

The small creature sat on the desk chair of your room. Eyeing you carefully. While you sat nervously on your bed, half-expecting to wake up. "You must be the newbie! Or, more so.. For this plot. The love-."

You notice there's a knocking on your bedroom door.

"(Y/N)? Everything okay?" Dick calls out, half-way yawning.

You immediately grab a hold of the small individual, holding him close to your chest as you look for a place to hide him.

"Yeah-! Uhm.. I.. Thought I saw a mouse?"

There was silence from the vigilante, considering your words. "That so'?"

"Mhm, yup. Yes..?" You breathe out, getting closer to the door. Thankful it was locked. The vigilante heard your movements and sighed. "Oh.. Good! W-well, I mean- that you're okay! Not the mouse part."

You laugh it off quietly, agreeing as he finally leaves your door and heads back to his room. You sigh in relief as you slowly sink back to the floor.

You lean back against the door, head banging against as you wince!

"Ouch! That's gotta' hurt.." Your eyes widen as you look down at your small visitor who sat on your lap. Chilling out as if he didn't have a single care in the world.

"I think you have the wrong person.." You mumble quietly under your breath. Watching Nite-Mite buzz around your room as he grins at you.

"Nope!"

"But! I'm not exactly his.. Ya' know..?" You make a gesture as your face scrunched up. The words too sour on your tounge.

"Type?"

"Yes! That!"

Dxyl laughed it off. "So what? Sure, many.. And I mean.. MANY! People have fallen for the Grayson Charm, but that doesn't mean he always reciprocates those feelings."

"Then what makes you think -" You're interrupted by the fith dimensional imp. "There's just something un-canny about you. Your presence is there, but no romantic tension? I mean, seriously!"

Nite-Mite snaps his fingers as he shows a built-in board of notes, strings, and photos. Pointing at them as he tries to connect it all together.

You slowly smile, easing into this odd situation. Smiling as he holds up a issue of... Nightwing? Watching him ramble and point to the board, it reminded you of Dick. Who probably fell back asleep, hopefully.

Blinking, your clothes felt heavier as you look down. Dressed in old fashionable garb?! What!

"Though I'm sure whoever Dick chooses is up to him, it's fun to see other routes!"

Instead of the usual skin-tight latex suit, the outfit showcased half of his bare-chest as the blue pants and brown boots reminded you of...

"P-pirate?" You laugh a bit, awkward and frazzled by these turn of events.

"Well.. -" Interrupted once again, the door rips open as a handsome young man storms in, his small puppy barked excitedly as she followed close behind. Yet stopped beside Dicks legs, blinking in confusion.

You immediately squeak in suprise. Your face a warm shade of color, too embarrassed to deal with all of these shenanigans so early!

Romanian here, and holy shit

the representation in Nosferatu was INCREDIBLE. I've never seen an American film in which the Romanian language and culture were shown so accurately, from the clothing to the phrases the characters used. Hearing "robul lui Dumnezeu" and many other familiar sayings in a huge production like this... Orlok being dressed like a boier... I loved it so much.

There were so many nods to the original novel and to the 1922 film and I genuinely felt like they worked together perfectly in creating a new story. So many cinematic shots and great acting and costumes and aaaahhh I am terribly picky with horror movies but this was GOOD!

Dardanne facts :

"Dardanne" isn't Dardanne's legal name until post BW1 where he gets officially registered. He transitioned when entering Plasma as a teen, and quickly made up a new name on the spot when Ghetsis invited him to join Plasma.

Pre-Plasma teenager Dar 100% had a crush on Jeff The Killer (yes, the cringe original creepypasta) and Pyramid Head (yes, the 250cm tall massive monster that tries to kill you in Silent Hill 2)

Despite me never talking about them, Dardanne has a family, including a sister and a brother !

Dardanne is suprisingly skilled in close combat thanks to his Plasma training. He isn't insanely strong, but he is fast and knows where to hurt the opponent. He is rusty by BW2 tho

I chose Dar's ace, mienshao, because it was one of my favorite unovan pokémon as a kid. I realized lately that mienshao's evolutive line is made up of two pokémons only, and as a combat type, it can sweep Zoroark. It's also a bipedal mammal. And it's in the same egg group as Zoroark ?? Fruitsaladshipping so real even their aces mirror each other

Dardanne's minccino, Duvet, has a personal beef with N.

While N calls Dar by many petnames, Dar only calls N "N". It took Dar months to stop calling him "Your Majesty", which is already incredible progress

Post BW2, N studies engineering, works for a time at Nimbasa City's amusement park, but then he experiments other jobs (Including but not limited to postman, pokémon center worker, forest guide, pokémon flight trainer...)

N often takes Dar on trips and travels !

Melony favors beating people up with his own fists rather than battling.

While Dar and N are on their funky little journey in BW1, Melony sticks by Ghetsis and follows him in Accumula, Castelia, Driftveil, the Dragonspiral tower... I guess Mel and Ghetsis have their own funky journey.

Mel knows how to cook, he just pretends he doesn't know.

Post BW2, Mel has trouble adaptating to being half-blind and keeps bumping into objects, as he lacks 3D perception now

Melony actually has way more experience with relationships than Ghetsis. It makes Ghetsis a bit shy.

Nach is purely an accident. Neither Mel nor Ghetsis wanted a kid, but the pregnancy was too advanced to end it (Abortion real in pokémon world)

Nach's name comes from NaCl. Because Ghetsis is a salty man and Mel is a biochemistry major drop out

Another Good Omens "hear me out" moment Though I want to work on original projects the Good Omens obsession won't let me rest

I remember Jesus in the Bible being very human. After double checking today, I can see so much potential with him interacting with Aziraphale and Crowley. (A little headcanon of mine as well, maybe God was genderfluid, so some periods it was Mother, some times Father)

He prayed three times to not let himself be crucified. Even if he knew it was the plan, he still begged his (at the time) Father to not let it happen. He took his chances, although nonexistant.

He'd be quite rebellious in character it feels. Praying to stop the plan, flipping tables at the temple, letting a fig tree dry out because it didn't have fruits even though it wasn't the season.

Some specialists theorize Judas could have been a lover (or at least very close to Jesus). In Good Omens, a cool headcanon I thought of, what if Jesus got so close to Judas, loved him so much, then learned from God he must be the one to betray him, he had no choice, manipulated Judas to betray him, and Judas kissed him before they were separated. Sounds familiiaaarr.

Jesus could have felt lonely, scared, abandonned on the cross. He was going along the plan, sacrificing himself, suffering. Judas just betrayed him, and he didn't feel God was there, calling for Him. Interesting, because that could make him relatable to both Crowley and Aziraphale.

I imagined maybe he wouldn't involve himself with the system and hierarchies of Heaven. Like, during his time on Earth, it's known he would go with the poor, the sick, the sinners. If it was up to him he wouldn't be on a throne like a king. So maybe he got away and found himself some nice isolated place in Heaven, closer to the lower ranked angels. I mean, so far even with God we haven't seen Her involved much in Heaven's affairs. The Metatron acts as the messenger, but maybe he's taking decisions as well. Wouldn't be surprising if Jesus wasn't involved either, and that's why high ranked angels seem to do as they please. God just watches.

Aziraphale could be struggling to fix the system, fail, and find himself wandering far in Heaven alone, lost, and he finds Jesus, and they have a talk, and Jesus understands and relates but the plan is the plan, nothing they can do. *That's* where Aziraphale could maybe tell him about the system, how he views the innefable plan, that Jesus *can* do something about it.

Jesus could be curious about Crowley. Maybe since he's been away so long he considers like other angels that demons are unforgivable and bad, period. But because of Aziraphale he goes down on Earth to the bookshop, somehow idk gets to talk with Crowley, and they kinda actually get along, Jesus understands him, maybe realizes that the system is indeed wrong, that he viewed demons wrong.

Oooh this could be sooo interesting

Because so far we know only Aziraphale and Crowley have been among humans so long that they have some humanity and can understand the system is wrong, so they have their own side.

But there's also Jesus that literally lived as a human. And so many things he did or said or happened to him could be relatable to Azi and/or Crowley.

I feel like it has so much potential I want to draw a comic about it but a short one aaaahhh

aaaahhh I'm a little nervous to say, but I spent a few hours today casually recording myself reading several of my Shatterproof fics aloud. I added the audio players to the tops of the fics—so far it's just #1-#6—so if you're interested, go check them out. :) I'm so very not professional, and mess up sometimes, but I have some experience reading aloud and performing in casual settings! I hope it feels kind of like we're sitting in a bedroom or car and just vibing.

Shatterproof on AO3

For those that are not aware, Shatterproof is a rather large Linked Universe AU fanfic series (currently 156k words over 63 works), focused on fluff and occasional light angst. The AU is nothing too dramatic, just each of the Links (and many of the supporting characters) has a physical disability. It's a passion project of mine and one I go back to often. I feel that it's appropriate that a lot of these works get podfic'd. :)

Funny thing happened on one of my TikTok videos where I was drawing and talking about fairly odd parents; my fairy Timmy au; and Nicktoons unite

With that crying emoji with it and I responded that yeah it does like I was surprised someone would ask like that being as Danny phantom was one of nicktoons most popular cartoons along with fairly odd parents invader zim; Jimmy neutron and SpongeBob for quite awhile until well Nickelodeon made SpongeBob their golden child out of its cartoons and devoted all it’s attention to it ignoring it’s other cartoons series (it kinda reflects in the nicktoons unite games because when those games started you could see they tried to include all the most popular cartoons main characters as it’s focused but as the game started to hit the end of their run the games got more and more focused on making SpongeBob the main focus witch is kinda sad they went that way)

Like I live in Australia 🇦🇺 and grew up in Australia 🇦🇺 so not all the nicktoons shows or games made it to here or were not advertised much other here ( also like most Australian families didn’t have foxtel networks like Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon; like in mine it was enithr have internet cable or tv cable and we went with having internet cable so would end up watching Danny phantom on YouTube as well as watching others game play of nicktoons unite games on there as well; think I enjoyed watching the cut scenes most)

So my guess that commenter didn’t really get to see Danny phantom cartoons ever being as here in Australia most of us got to watch Nickelodeon cartoons through abc kids channel here a lot of fairly odd parents cartoons made it on there and I think jimmy Timmy power hour made it onto there

(I was obsessed with cartoons as a kid and became obsessed with anime as a teenager; those both became a hyperfixtion for my adhd brain and I can tell you kid and teenager me REALLY hated those reality TV shows that got into way of cartoons/ anime I wanted to watch

I hated those sidcoms that were not cartoons because they stated to replace cartoons I enjoyed on other free to air channels here in Australia

Think I wasn’t the only kid who hated those I remember abc kids network asking it’s kid fans what they wanted on the network and a lot were asking for anime content so not many wanted those sitcoms)

So my guess is they only knew a handful of the nicktoons because probably only got to see only a handful of the cartoons from where they were from (what I do know Australia got SpongeBob on channel 10 network in the mornings I believe; not sure wasn’t as into SpongeBob as many others were I was more into fairly odd parents; invader zim; a very beavers cat dog Rugrats and Aaaahhh! Real monsters!

Ok now that I think about it it was abc kids and channel ten that would air Nickelodeon cartoons/shows to Australian audiences one would do mornings or Saturday mornings while the other would do afternoons after school

You had to get the times just right to watch your favourite shows

And I know jimmy neutron did well here because his movie did make it here as did fairly odd parents because that ended up showing until like seasons 6-7 on abc kids in afternoons then just stopped so kids knew about those cartoons heck avatar last air bender ended up on that network as well for a time but the thing was invader Zim and Danny phantom didn’t end up on either of those free to air tv; you had to watch on YouTube or a friend would have dvd box set of the show and you could watch it from them (that’s how as a teenager I got to see invader zim and Danny phantom I had to go to YouTube for that)

So maybe that’s why half don’t understand Danny’s family/ friends got his back while many misunderstood how Timmy’s life truly sucked for him or why he needed Wanda & Cosmo

They may not of gotten many episodes to go off on and maybe what other fans have told them or maybe I’m overthinking things

for me, nostalgia 100% without a doubt, happens when i'm listening to any song by my michael or his band. i love listening to him sing specifically. he has such a voice i never heard before, distinct, unmistakablely michael. never fails to make me slip into thought of moments where he'd sing to me, guitar on his lap, eyes on me like i'm the last person he wants to ever lay eyes upon. just cause of this ask, i had to turn on my current favorite just to hear him 😭

the moon. i am always looking at it. i got a scope sometimes i'd look at it at night just to count and recount the craters on it. 'oh, my, what a beauty. i'd do anything to live there'. rings. never seen without my jewelry, especially ones on my fingers. doe eyes. my eyes are round and big just like them and are known to be the reason why i always make others swoon. monkees biggest fan. i am always regarded as their biggest fan. i know every song, every lyric, every voice and who sings what. every production. i am always there to support even if i'm busy with my own career to cheer the boys on. it'd be weird if i wasn't.

favorite inside joke? on the show, the monkees, in my dr, michael often refers to himself being 'married' with kids in seasons 2-4. it seems like a nod to his relationship to me and the kids being our pups. favorite weird food combo? none...i'll come back if i find something lol. how do you feel about surprises? uh..depends? i like surprises if it's executed a certain way about certain things but absolutely hate surprises if it's public. i like to be prepared (ex. not knowing about a nomination and then winning it with no thank you speech prepped). analytical vs creative? definitely creative given my career and general lifestyle. i make music. it's my most creative craft. then i like to crotchet too when bored. me in three words? uh- hard-working, versitle, loving.

I know you didn’t ask but I have to get this out there…

I like Delly. I like that people like Delly. And that there are so many stories and deep dives into this character we only got a slice of…

But it annoys me to no end that they just disregard some of the only facts we get about her!!

Delly was described as “a lumpy girl with yellowish hair”. And I always liked this because “lumpy” implies/by definition means bigger bodied/curvy/larger. Katniss also indicates Delly has “a few extra pounds”. Bigger bodied people can still be malnourished from poverty in the most impoverished district and be larger. I don’t understand why we get a good friendly character who is described to be this way and then she gets defaulted by so many people to be thin petite conventional…

And I know Katniss mentions Delly being thinner in MJ due to grief. But a lot of these stories, etc, don’t take place in that timeline, remove this quality of hers without explanation or acknowledgement. While I also find reason to argue that Collins in the books has underlying implications, associating larger bodies with greed/badness/Capitol, I don’t think it should excuse fic writers to buy into that narrative and not challenge it.

AAAAHHH BUT IM SO GLAD YOU WROTE THIS

Because, I have theories.

I think Katniss was jealous of Delly, because she was curvy and bigger than the rest of them. Because like, she talks about how being bigger is seen as an accomplishment, and probably would be their beauty standard, and says that she doesn’t understand the Capitol liking smaller bodies. So I read the “lumpy” as Katniss jealous that Delly has boobs and an ass. (I also think Delly had a crush on Katniss and that’s why she was so happy and sweet to her but I digress)

Anyway. I love Delly. I grew up with food insecurity and was also curvy/midsized. It’s entirely possible. I’ve been a variety of weights(yay medication side effects) but the one thing that has never changed is the size of my boobs and hips, and I think it’s the same for Delly. In fact, lots of poor people tend to be bigger, because of lots of reasons but not least of all because it helps us survive. People in generational poverty can usually still manage to be a bit fat on very very little. It is nearly impossible for me to lose weight on my own(without stimulant adhd meds) even when I was only eating once a day. Again, I might drop about 15 pounds but I’m still the same shape, and I’m still curvy and still in the upper ends of straight sizes.

I think erasing Delly’s bigness is…more than a bit not good. Especially when it’s a romantic story, or modern day. There’s no reason to shrink her, no reason at all. There’s only one, and it’s that people are uncomfortable writing characters that aren’t stick thin. I’ve noticed it with a lot of modern aus about Katniss too, that she’s super super thin, and like, very thin is also a body type that some people cannot change, but. I don’t know. There’s a lot of subtle fatphobia in a lot of fan works, that I think a lot of people just. Don’t unpack?

Anyway. All this to say, you can be any size and still under nourished. You can be any weight and still need more to eat, better things to eat. You can also be any weight and be healthy, fwiw, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. You can also be any size and still be hot. Just because you don’t fit a certain look doesn’t mean you’re automatically unattractive. There’s people who are attracted to bigger bodies, that that is their preference (it’s me, hi!) so there’s really not a reason to shrink someone down to make them more attractive, just. Write the person that’s attracted to the character…attracted to bigger bodies?? It’s not that hard?? Or don’t, but then don’t write that story.

I’m not going to sit here and say that thin washing is as bad as whitewashing, but like. Fat people are oppressed in our current society. Erasing Delly’s size to make her more appealing is erasing a part of her. At that point, she’s not the same character anymore.

Hi! Some time ago I said I started ISAT thanks to your post, and I finished it (and it did indeed emotionally devastate me), now I'm looking to try Sky to understand the AU better, and since it looks cool. I'm kinda confused on what kinda game it is tho, since it's a F2P MMO apparently? I played Journey (and loved it), but this seems like a different beast, haha

I know I could, just, google it, but it's fun talking to people who actually play <3

AAAAHHH WELCOME TO THE ISAT CLUB!!!!!!! now you know how it feels.

So! If you played Journey, you'll find that the first time you play Sky the 2 games are very, very, VERY similar. Same mystic and mysterious vibes, same wonders and monsters, more or less same lack of explanaition on many lore aspect that are left open to interpretation.

However, Sky is much, MUCH more developed than Journey, after your first playthrought, you'll slowly fond more and more places to unlock, secret entrances, events, seasons, characters, spirits, challenges, trials and many (oh so many) cosmetics.

It's a game that you can play as much as you want and eventually just leave there, nothing will happen unless you really want items from one season.

The reason I feel in love with sky are 2: freedom and humanity.

The game is just visually beautiful. I played Journey as well and I loved it, but Sky flying physic has something that leave me hypnotized everytime. You truly feel like you are soaring throught the clouds.

The world is just so peaceful (for the most part ahah) and you truly feel like you are part of this world along woth its creatures.

Most of my recent times playing I've been just standing on grass fields to enjoy the background music and sounds, or just fly around and feel the adrenaline of a freefall

As for the second aspect, no other MMO is like Sky, as you can only unlock chat and other stuff only after you spend in game currencies with other players. You can't even see how the player look like unless the 2 of you decide to lit the others.

This makes it so every interaction is truly special, as you can only use your call and the expression you collect throught the game. And incredibly you don't need more to create a frienship. I had so many sessions with strangers just playing songs togheter, or copying the others emote, or just honking to each other almost in morse code.

Everything is just so wholesome and cute and it's my little refuge.

It's a very human game i would say :)

The Wanderer is such a problem, that the army of drinlings who stayed back to stop him all died, and Grodicc killed Nia, Del, Jasher, and Farfalee in ONE CHAPTER!! ALL IMPORTANT CHARACTERS
