all headcanons are valid but tbh eridan is very masc, and seems to prefer it that way. even taking into account that most of his outfit emulates dualscar, when he does make clothing decisions that aren't inspired by dualscar, they're always masc as fuck - from the gaudy sneakerhead-type sneakers to the white-rimmed douchebag shades. like im never gonna tell people not to hc eridan as trans or w/e, but the canon suggests that eridan actually prefers to present masc even when there's no pressure to do so, and that's important to his characterization (being a right-wing radicalized 4chan boy, which is an overwhelmingly masc archetype)

everyone seems so convinced dalinar is going to be homophobic to renarin. maybe im just a delusional dalinar stan but in row 54 when dalinar is talking to renarin about him being an enlightened truthwatcher and he says, and i quote, "whatever you are son, it's a blessing. you may be a different kind of radiant, but you're radiant all the same. you shouldn't feel the need to hide this" that sure sounds like a parent who has figured out that their child is queer and is not going to press them on it but is trying to get across that they Accept Their Son's Differences. like im not saying dalinar is a champion for gay rights or anything and im certainly not saying that he's free of the biases of heterosexual society just because sadeas sucked him off or whatever, but what i AM saying is that he's a moderate liberal dad who is a little bit confused about how to be a good ally but who is trying. and maybe that trying doesn't hit at all for renarin. maybe dalinar being like "and that's okay" a little too affirmatively when renarin comes out to him is not going to actually help renarin feel supported in the gendered hellscape that is vorin society. but i certainly don't think that he's going to be angry or, like, disowning renarin or talking about what a disappointment he is. this man learned how to read for chrissakes. and when renarin learned how to read dalinar wasn't like oh son this is so shameful he was like well this is odd and unexpected! but i have a lot more important shit going on lmao. i think renarin coming out to dalinar would be like that.

Why do people assume that kids can't be passionate about things?

Every time I see a video on instagram of a kid being passionate about something or good at something, the comments are full of people going "😢how sad, just let the kid be a kid😢"

Like, that kid is having the time of their life or is a fucking Oscar worthy actor.

Kids can have hobbies, kids can be good at things, and kids can care about things. And the fact that you don't think so tells me you don't know many kids.

And like, the conversation around kids on social media and the exploitation of kids on social media is a valid discussion to have, but it doesn't mean every kid with a passion is being forced into it.

Rethinking the dynamics between kratos and the gods in the og series through the lens of siblings versus their shared dad makes things a lot more, idk, tragic? Kratos starting out as the older brother taking care of his little brother, then going on to seek his own older brother's help, ares trying to train his younger brother so that they could one day take down their shitty dad, and athena just trying to keep things together so that her siblinga don't all gang up on dad and kill him. Theres something about it that makes me sad

something I think about a lot when it comes to Vincent's design is that across VII, AC, DoC - the changes in his design are minor, usually shape related, but he keeps the same clothes. the others have multiple outfits, but he stays the same, adding to the fact he is, effectively, motionless in the river of time while others are able to move on or 'progress'... It gets to me ok

its been a billion years since I posted anything meaningful about mcga but I'm thinking about Alex helping Magnus with clothes.

I think Blitzen would love to help style Magnus, but I think he might accidentally end up being a bit overbearing, albeit with good intentions. He wants to help, but would probably end up tripping over his own fashion opinions more often than not, and Magnus would want to make his friend happy too much to actually voice his own opinions consistently. But Alex would understand that identity through fashion is something slow to be discovered on your own. It's not instant, it's a slow process of trying things and finding out what makes you feel good physically and emotionally. You can't pressure a person finding their own style, especially someone who's never had much room to do so and will likely feel guilty about making that room. She's gone through the process, and she'd probably be more than happy to help someone with it too.

I'm thinking about them going around to different stores and finding that Magnus likes second hand and low-end boutique stuff more than anything. Alex letting him onto her etsy account and buying his first piece of jewelry, taking him around to all of her favorite stores where she's greeted as a friend. Yeah, they could do all this in Valhalla, but where's the fun in that?

I think Magnus would like earth tones and dark, muted colors. He would avoid synthetic materials for their unnaturally soft textures and blue would make rare appearances. Alex would parade him around in his first pair of White Guy Khaki Shorts in five years, glowing with a silly sort of pride and Magnus feeling something kindle back to life in his chest at a growing collection or flannels, just like his mom. I'm imagining Magnus learning what it's like to live with his body, rather than despite it, and feel comfortable with himself in his surroundings for the first time since he was a little kid, taking a hike in the woods. And I'm thinking of Alex holding his hand the whole time.
