I think this is the scene that kicks off Eddie’s feelings realizations and coming out arc THOUGH HE WON'T UNDERSTAND IT.

After Chris makes his decision, after Eddie tells Ramon and Helena about the will, all that's left is Eddie and Ramon while Chris, Helena, and Buck finish packing.

Eddie is too angry, at his parents, at himself, to speak. So he listens as Ramon does.

And Ramon tells Eddie he wishes it hadn't come to this, that they'll look after Christopher until he is ready to go back, until Eddie is in a good place to be Chris's father again. He also tells Eddie that he has a good thing here, that he has created a family for himself and he is proud of Eddie for having someone in his life as special and as good as his friend, Buck who loves Chris as much as Eddie does, and wishes Eddie could see what it is he already has.

All of this flies over Eddie’s head, he doesn't understand it. Doesn't have the time to as Helena, Buck, and Chris enter the room.

as i start doodling xie lian and hua cheng more and creating my own little designs for them, im leaning towards giving xie lian softer and rounder features and hue cheng sharper lines… kiki and bouba theory

Aight, as someone who makes a lot of characters buffer when I draw them, I get why so many people in this fandom want to bulk up Xie Lian, but here's the thing:

The man doesn't eat. He's got a mortal body, and he canonically has wack eating habits (like, to the point I'm pretty sure Hua Cheng expresses concern about it book 5). How's the man supposed to be bulking up when he doesn't eat? (Also like... some people just don't get bulging muscles. Doesn't mean they're any less strong, it's just not immediately visible. Even during his first ascension, he was described as feminine looking to the point some people forgot he was a martial god, so I wouldn't be surprised if he fell into that category)

Anyways, unrelated, but I think it'd be nice if he got a slight tummy post canon. Let trash grandpa enjoy good food and retirement

i mostly see one-sided love as an angst trope but tbh. i like it more when it's not. i want more characters who aren't interested in romance with a friend who is into them romantically and they both just respect eachothers feelings about it. like "sure man we can do whatever and i don't care if you feel differently about it than i do as long as you don't push the expectation of feeling the same on me. and i won't push the expectation of Not feeling like that on you. come hold my hand"
