tell me why not one, but TWO of my coworkers legit thought i was married?

for context, me and one of my friends (also a coworker) are “married” and often mention it in conversation (like “dearest husband, why have you betrayed me” “husband, can you help me lift this heavy thing?” etc) in a joking manner. he got ordained online because he thought it’d be funny, and “got married” by agreeing to marry for tax benefits in front of two other friends. we all think it’s hilarious, in the eyes of the church we’d be married, but we never signed any legal documents and thus aren’t really. (i joked about being in schrödingers marriage)

well, one of the newer employees who got hired a few months back, right after the “wedding,” heard my “husband” talking about his girlfriend the other day at work. she asked if he was poly because of it, and come to find out she has actually thought we were married the whole time.

the other person who thought that (that we know about) was the manager who was there when it originally happened. he thought we’d actually gone and signed papers after work or something, which is crazy

Danny being Danny was never caught doing something normal instead it was always something weird.

⇸ eyes darting all over your face, trying to figure out which part of you they want to set their eyes on the most (it's impossible)

⇸ gazing at you like you're miles away only when you're a few feet away, standing with another person. their stare is hard, intense, but also melting and blank.

⇸ a featherlight touch to your arm with their eyes softly peering up at you. they can't believe that you're allowing them to touch you like this—so innocent, so softly.

Danny's human form ages like normal, but his default form as Phantom is still the 14y/o he was at his time of death. Luckily he can change that with concentration, since his ghost form is malleable. But he has to a) have the time to enact the change and b) consciously maintain his form. His superhero colleagues don't know he's half alive, so he's typically got his adult ghost form firmly in place before they meet. While fighting a powerful enemy, Phantom's concentration slips and he reverts to child form. Doesn't matter, it's just aesthetics and the enemy is what's important. He’s equally strong in his 14 y/o form. Except, his colleagues are very concerned to “discover” that their teammate is a child who has been lying about his age all this time. So now Danny has to figure out how to convince them that he's just looked 14 for over a decade now, or bite the bullet and show them all his secret identity. Preferably before they demote him to a team of teen heroes, or he gets forcibly adopted.

DC x DP Prompt: Bruce is bad at emoting but at least ghosts are empathic (too bad bat kids are not)

Was reading Twincognito on AO3 when I stumbled across this gem again:

They glanced at each other and shrugged.

Then Danny hauled himself out of the bed and walked over to Bruce.

Now I really want to read a story where Bruce adopts Danny post Meta trafficking and is being his usual emotionally constipated self. His kids keep getting mad at him because he's treating their new meta brother who was trafficked poorly (generally being stilted in conversation with him, walking away hurriedly mid-conversation, avoiding Danny when he's feeling really awkward, etc). They think Bruce is discriminating against Danny for being a civilian, meta, dealer's pick, but really it's just Bruce being horribly socially awkward. Danny knows this because of ghost empathy and find the whole thing hilarious. The whole thing comes to a head with the Bat Kids staging an intervention in the Bat Cave.
