Honestly, I’m mostly rooting for IzuChako to happen because I doubt the series will end with Izuku without a partner and if that isn’t Uraraka I could actually see Horikoshi completing his descent into the pits of Tartarus and giving the BakuDekus what they want
Even if there's no Izucahko, I doubt Bakudeku is ever going to be a thing, and for one simple reason: the way he turned on the originally impressive development of the various female characters, among other things, means he's going to be defaulting to a lot of more typical shonen tropes. One of which is, well, in a typical shonen story the main character isn't gay. It just.... never happens, up there with woman having real roles of importance. The Main Character almost always hooks up with a girl, or is implied to, and on very rare occasions just doesn't hook up with anyone.
*shrug*
It's weird to phrase it this way, but Hori is so locked onto the typical way this kind of story progresses, to MHA's overall detriment, that he's not going to deviate from that formulaic approach in any way at this point, and for this one specific thing it actually works out for the better, because fuck. There is so much unhealthy bullshit with Bakugou and Izuku that Bakudeku just sounds like the start of an abusive relationship... you know, since Izuku and Bakugou started with an abusive relationship, and still haven't resolved that in any healthy way. That's not even talking about if you can ever have a truly healthy romantic relationship with a background of such an unhealthy power balance, resolved or not, or if that would taint the relationship forever, which is kind of in the air in it's own right.
I'd honestly rather it be no relationship, though, rather than a empty shell of a relationship made just to pair up The Hero with The Girl, but... I don't think we're that lucky.

Sometimes the government will spend money in ways you don’t like. That doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be government spending.
Sometimes the government will regulate things in ways you don’t like. That doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be government regulation.

One of my fanfic pet peeves is when people try to write Orihime as a bad cook, which is to say, the food she makes is disgusting or makes people sick. I could pull out receipts from canon about how in truth she is just adventurous and enjoys off-beat combinations of things, but I really just want to talk about this absolutely genius creation from Bleach 330:
oh. my. god. I would eat the hell out of that.
You may be thinking, hmm, it's kind of like a dessert pizza, eh? Well. Maybe. Kind of. I feel obligated to point out that there is spicy mayonnaise mixed into the chocolate. But on the other hand, mayonnaise is a legit cake ingredient (it's just an egg/oil emulsion, right?) and chocolate tastes great with a bit of heat.
Chad and Ichigo are skeptical, but they are teenage boys and also WRONG.
Here's the real verdict:
Nozomi knows what's up, and so do Ichigo's sisters.
#orihime inoue#reigai arc#my filler arc opinions change every time i watch them but frankly: the reigai arc is Good#it's got friendship! fights! fits! food! what more could you ask for??#also in this episode: ichigo invites ishida over for orihime's dinner 'so that it will be livelier' because kon is bummed#it's really sweet actually?#then kon goes on at length about how good orihime's cooking is (that was a different meal which is why i didn't include it here)#i guess he also knows what's up#even a stopped clock is right twice a day i guess

Huh
The republicans (maybe) just spiked KOSA and aren't going to bring it to the floor. It's now DOA
As is their usual MO they didn't want the the Democrats to 'win' anything if they could help it.
Now is a great time to call/text/email your Democrat reps and senators to let them know it was a bad bill before it comes back around.
I read this in the Punchbowl Newsletter. Hasn't been announced elsewhere yet.

the thing about taking advice from anyone on tiktok or instagram including catholic and christian type influencers, parenting advice, relationship advice, etc, or internalizing any stories of horrible relationships and betrayal people tell on those platforms, or reading about all the ways interpersonal relationships can end horribly and be cycled through extremely quickly on those platforms is that you are necessarily then consuming the thoughts and experiences of someone who is willing to put their face and name on a public social media platform to talk at you. and like 1% of those people have a good reason for doing so and the other 99% are completely unhinged. so everything you’re consuming has first gone through the filter of "is this person weird and insane enough to make Instagram reels of themselves crying?" and if the answer is yes maybe their advice doesn’t apply to your life because you’re a normal person who would not do that.
#i don’t know if this makes sense but it’s something i was thinking about today#not that i really live my life according to Instagram reel advice but as a human being when i see something stated as fact i naturally seek#out the parts of it I believe or compare it to my current worldview#and when that person seems to have a lot of “clout” for discussing spiritual things….idk sometimes I’m like wait is this true? should i#believe this? and other times I’m like well is this a real pattern of behavior that can be observed in many people from different walks of#life including my own? this thing that all men do or all women do or the way all couples will eventually behave#this makes it sound like i am constantly on social media consuming hours of content which im really not#I’ll be on a train and scroll a little bit and something gets stuck in my craw#but with me I’m always like am i rationalizing this away because i don’t want it to resonate?#and I think in the case of anything on social media the answer can almost always be no#because im like wait. why would i take advice from someone who has a public Instagram account#im not saying a stopped clock isn’t right twice a day but really how much of my perspective and life experiences can they share in#when we have this totally totally mismatched worldview#(i mean this also applies to basically anyone offering any type of life advice who isn’t catholic about that)#(but when they are Catholics doing this that gives me slightly more pause for obvious reasons I’m like we are on the same team though?)#(and we are but only kind of and i do not have to listen to you because being an Instagram influencer is still cringe in 99% of cases.)

I’ve always wondered what kind of evidence Piper had for McDonough being a synth, because there certainly wasn’t any in her article, and I finally found it — in some random Deacon dialogue, of all places. Arturo tells Deacon the mayor “keeps late hours, with strange visitors.” Deacon replies, “That’s not proof.” The informant says, “Hey, not even Piper’s dug up anything more yet.”
SO WHERE EXACTLY IS THIS WHOLE STORY COMING FROM, PIPER?
#i mean yeah she was right but a stopped clock is right twice a day#game kinda just glosses over how piper fosters enough paranoia to get a man killed at the start of the story#with apparently no evidence whatsoever#fallout 4#fallout#deacon fallout#deacon fallout 4#piper wright#piper fallout#piper fallout 4#mayor mcdonough

Someone just criticized Midnight for being open-ended…
Stupid takes are part of the experience of a fandom as large as DW, but holy crap.
Midnight is not about the alien. It’s about how easily ordinary people can fall prey to tribal tactics. The emphasis is on ordinary. None of the people on board are special. How quickly othering can turn to exclusion, and to dehumanization. How their undoing is not the monster itself, but the fear the monster inspires. By the end of the episode we aren’t even sure if the monster is just trying to communicate or actively hostile.
If the othering metaphor wasn’t strong enough. Sky is canonically queer:
SKY: Oh, the usual. She needed her own space, as they say. A different galaxy, in fact. I reckon that's enough space, don't you?
It talks about how dangerous adventure tourism can be. How a healthy respect of the other is important. That even if you spent many years studying the danger, pretending it isn’t dangerous can be catastrophic.
That’s not even talking about the phenomenal acting. The lady who plays Sky is so good. She does the repeating bit so well. And the whole episode hinges on it being that good. Because the episode needs you to empathize with those who are scared of her. To show you how far they’ll go and in turn ask you how far you would go? Obviously, DT does a phenomenal job. You can see him fighting and loosing it.
The other fantastic thing is that the doctor doesn’t save the day. It’s another ordinary person. The train‘s stewardess. Delivering the perfect ending, when everyone realizes that she saved their lives and they never even asked her name.
When recommending Doctor Who. I recommend this episode, Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, and Smile because I think it does a good job encapsulating the range this show can have.
#doctor who#Midnight#David Tennant#rtd#you also see rose in one of the screens#trying to contact the doctor#see how none of these were written by Moffatt#though to be fair I’d add empty child and#the doctor dances#pretty much right after that#the quality range on this man is astounding#or it’s more like even a stopped clock is right twice a day thing

Eventually a new supervillain rises. A scientist lost their entire family to what was supposed to be a genuinely harmless April Fools prank the previous year (but things are known to spiral out of control like an oversized Rube Goldberg device / Final Destination scene in Gotham, depending on the tone of the story).
The scientist was trying to use time dilation technology to skip April 1st entirely. Instead they created a time bubble that trapped Gotham within the morning of April 1st for an entire year.
It was said that to escape the time bubble, someone needed to endure 1000 years of feeling trapped in their own body as they ran across the dividing line beyond Bristol and back into real time. The people who did it won't talk about it.
