#actually it's just. the reason the show itself appeals so heavily to me. outside of it just genuinely being a good show lmao #trips to the north carolina coast as a child fueled an obsession with lighthouses and pirate history (yeah we learned about blackbeard #in school and stede bonnet too)#one of my favorite places in the world is the town that now exists in the spot where stede bonnet was captured #(and ofc im not trying to glorify the real guys i just like history!!)#but yeah lmao i have a bunch of pictures of me in the spots where sb got captured and blackbeard got killed and their ships were run aground #and the musuem where the queen annes revenge is #ANYWAYS. i have a lighthouse problem. my first tattoo will prob be a lighthouse #also sidenote the lighthouse stede and mary get married beside is the ugliest fucking lighthouse ive ever seen #and ive seen skeleton lighthouses #some college friends referred to oak island lighthouse as cigarette butt lighthouse

As a Hungarian I find the Hungarian poster for season 2 hilarious. Like, they just translated "your ship to be wrecked" literally, not realising the double meaning there.

They took these two gay pining pirates laying below one another gazing off to the sky and thought "oh yeah it's just about a ship being beached" like it's just that. I cannot with this xD
