thoughts of the day: I'm really thankful I taught myself to cook when I was pretty young

#dont know how i did it #but i did #food obsession is a double-edged sword i guess #but i truly love food #it brings me joy and makes me happy #i need to learn to balance that #but i appreciate that trait even if it's inconvenient sometimes #and i can't imagine being someone to whom food is an afterthought or obligation #what about chili on a cold day?? or a perfect fried fish filet??#a roasted vegetable?#a meatloaf?#a smashburger?#a perfect salad when you're in the mood for it?#food is humanity food is day-to-day life food is memory food is believing in the future #food is remembering you are mortal but you are also alive #food is God's providence every single day

can't stop thinking about the quinoa i had for lunch. here's that quinoa

quinoa, cooked, 250 grams

yellow onion, diced, 30 grams (or red onion if you're feeling spicy)

pomegranate seeds, like 40g (as much as you like)

parsley, chopped, 10 grams

mint, chopped, 5 grams (prefer parsley)

craisins, 35 grams (i chopped these small)

feta, crumbled, 40 grams (or whatever man. it's your salad)

chickpeas, cooked/canned, ~75 grams

olive oil, ~20 grams

lemon juice, ~20 grams

salt, pepper, sugar if the lemon is lemon

fuck it we ball (mix well)

made about 2 servings!

artichokes are one such thing.
