hey. hey hey hey. you. fanfic writer. you need to kill the critic in your head right now immediately. your fanfic does not involve too much focus on an oc. your characterization is fine. whether you chose to write first person or 3rd person you chose what was best for your story. never ever start second guessing your fanfic based on imaginary critics and the memes you see making fun of things you ended up doing in your fic (first person/oc focus/formatting) it will kill your drive for your fic slowly and insidiously. kill the concept of your work being marketable; your fanfic does not need to be marketable; your fanfic will never be marketable. mute and delete anyone who leaves shitty comments or bookmark blurbs on your work. if you finish writing a chapter at night wait until the next morning to edit and post it. I love you. remember to skim over your work in ao3's rich text box to make sure strikethroughs and horizontal lines are where you want them to go and there's no extra space between italicized words and periods. I love you. "no archive warnings apply" means none of the listed content warnings apply to your work; "creator chose not to use archive warnings" means you're not sure if they apply or not or you want to avoid spoilers by not specifying which warning applies and you should use this at your own discretion and for the love of god don't use the first one when you mean this one. I love you. "&" means friendship/parental/platonic and "/" means romantic. I love you I love you I love you

What your western classics tattoo means:
-Inferno: cringe. you think about hell a lot but don’t believe in god. You like the boiling river of shit. You say you think Paolo and Francesca are romantic but you don’t understand courtly love.
-Purgatorio: pretty good. You probably payed attention to the reading. You should take up endurance hiking with a bag of rocks
-Paradiso: excellent. You’re annoying about the existence of the sublime in music. You were really into string theory in middle school. If I give you a drink you’ll start talking about Hildegard
-Lysistrata: you had a lesbian separatist phase. You're really into your community garden, or you want to be. Every thirteen months, one of your posts goes viral
-Iliad: your meat is huge
-Odyssey: your wife is smarter than you. You're a killer tabletop DM. You would fuck a witch if pressed
-Don Quixote: based. unless it's the picasso illustrations, then you're basic.
-Pascal: if it's math, you're gay. if it's philosophy, you're a stoner
-Aeneid: you also have a tattoo of the Capitoline Wolf. You love the origin story part of superhero movies
-Middlemarch: you don't exist. nobody has a middlemarch tattoo
-Jane Austen's works: you're the person people text "can i be mean." You're good at parties but you hate them. You're think you're funnier online than in person
-just the word "logos" in Greek: you didn't do the reading
-Sappho: you are a trans lesbian
-Proust: you post a lot of "slut in theory" memes. you get anxious going to the seven-eleven
-Euclid: you taught yourself to draw a perfect circle. You think about geological formations a lot. You've memorized that Edna St. Vincent Millay poem
-Herodotus: you're a worldbuilding geek. You wanted to talk about the necrophilia passage more in class. You will buy any novel with a map at the front

✨Axel's Ultimate Batman Video Game Play Guide and Reviews
You guys seemed to enjoy the previous version of this I did with all the Batman Animated shows, and now that I'm done with all the Batman games I thought I'd post my thoughts on those too! I decided to do this one in just like. Regular text format. Bc I didn't feel like editing all these into images like I did for the last one. So uhhh lemme know which format you prefer lol.
Anyways, please enjoy my comprehensive thoughts and feelings on (almost) every modern Batman game, five months in the making because I have no life. Enjoy!
🦇
Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009)
My Personal Rating: 7/10
My Total Hours Played: 17.1
Steam Rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (96%)
Description: The first game in the Batman Arkham Series. Based off the iconic Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth comic from 1989 (aka the only good thing Grant Morrison has ever produced in his entire feeble life). The inmates at Arkham Asylum have begun a violent riot, and as Batman goes through the hospital to stop them, he uncovers a sinister conspiracy involving his greatest enemies.
Play If You're Looking For: An intro to the Arkham Series, a very different interpretation of Arkham Asylum compared to other versions of Batman, and some really dark aesthetics. Also, this isn't explicitly canon, but according to this series’ timeline, this game takes place in the space between Jason's death and Tim’s arrival, so if you're interested in a very dark, brooding, traumatized Bruce, playing this game with that information changes it a lot.
Things I Liked:
Genuinely really scary
Incredible atmosphere
Both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil are featured in their iconic roles
Really well written
Birthed a bunch of really iconic Batman memes (go to the r/Arkham subreddit, it's so funny unfortunately) (OFFICER BALLS.)
This was actually my introduction to Oracle and I love her more than anything in these games
Things I Didn't Like:
The graphics aren't fantastic but to be fair it was 2009 so
THE FUCKING BANE BOSS FIGHT. GOD. FUCK YOU BANE. THAT SHIT TOOK ME SO LONG.
The Killer Croc boss fight wasn't super difficult but it was so scary that I cried the first time I played it so. Keep that in mind.
Batman: Arkham City (2011)
My Personal Rating: 9/10
My Total Hours Played: 27.5
Steam Rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (95%)
Description: The second game in the Batman Arkham Series. After the riot at Arkham Asylum, Sharpton ascends to the mayor's office and cuts off about 6.4 acres of Gotham as ‘Arkham City’; a walled off portion of the city where crime runs rampant and mostly untethered.
Play If You're Looking For: Agonizing Brutalia angst, a fight with pretty much every Batman villain who's ever existed (except for Scarecrow but that's for AK), a tiny sprinkle of Brucie Wayne right at the beginning, and an INCREDIBLE story that is generally agreed to be the best in the series.
Things I Liked:
TONS of collectibles
Taliaaaaa my angelllll <<3
The side missions are really great
If you get the DLC, there's a special game section focused around Harley where you play as Tim’s Robin and it's super fun
The story is just. My god. It's so good. It's SO good.
The map is massive and there's so much to do, I was still playing weeks after I finished the story
Things I Didn't Like:
As much as I loved the collectibles there's like over 400 of them in the game and I couldn't get all of them and it still pisses me off
You have to play as Selina a few times in order to progress and she's like super weak compared to Bruce (not in a misogynistic way on my part I mean like she genuinely dies after like two good hits) and her dialogue annoys tf out of me. Sorry I'm a hater.
Batman: Arkham Origins (2013)
My Personal Rating: 9/10
My Total Hours Played: 27.2
Steam Rating: Very Positive (89%)
Description: The third game in the Batman Arkham Series– but this one is a prequel! I actually played this one after Arkham Knight but. Shhh. Anyways, this game is based loosely off the world presented in the Batman: Year One comics, and follows a younger Bruce in his early days as Batman, including the origins (lol) to many of his greatest enemies as they try to hunt him down, with their efforts spearheaded by a certain someone behind the scenes. Also it's Christmas!
Play If You're Looking For: Little baby angsty Bruce being a problem child, a game where you get to punch cops, and tiny tiny tiny baby Babs being adorable (she's like twelve and she's so cute).
Things I Liked:
I don't usually care about the soundtracks for video games but. FUCK the music is good. It's all based on Christmas/Nutcracker music and it's really really cool
This game genuinely helped me get over a lot of really deeply ingrained trauma surrounding Christmas /gen
Fun little Mad Hatter side mission!
Batman and Riddler argue like teenage boys (because they are)
Alfred and Bruce's relationship has some genuinely really beautiful characterization in this and their arch is really enjoyable
Things I Didn't Like:
FUCKING. BANE. HE HAS LIKE THREE SEPARATE BOSS FIGHTS AND THEY'RE ALL SO HARD AND SCARY AND AND AND AHHHH
The graphics are a little iffy but to be fair my view was skewed bc I played this right after finishing Arkham Knight
Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)
My Personal Rating: 8.5/10
My Total Hours Played: 47.9
Steam Rating: Very Positive (91%)
Description: The fourth and (kind of) final installment of the Batman Arkham Series (not counting Arkham Shadow because idgaf). Scarecrow is back, and threatening Gotham with a new fear toxin compound, resulting in a mass evacuation… but something else is going on here too, and Batman has a new enemy who may be his most dangerous yet.
Play If You're Looking For: agony, pain, suffering, nightmares, tears, emotional exhaustion, etc.
Things I Liked:
Really well written story (it's just really traumatizing)
Some of the most beautiful graphics in any video game like. Ever.
The DLC suits are SO COOL, you can play as Flashpoint Batman….
Really really great fighting mechanics that make combat actually really enjoyable even though that's not really what I'm here for
Amazing side missions; there's basically a side mission for every mechanic in the game, so whatever your favorite part is there's a little section where that's pretty much all you do
Things I Didn't Like:
This game took me WEEKS to get through because the story is so painful it was genuinely not fun half the time
The ending isn't very satisfying (to me)
You know the concept of the “all is lost moment” in story telling? Yeah, this game’s “all is lost moment” is like 80% of the game. Everything is lost like. Most of the time.
Oh we're just not gonna talk about Talia. After all that shit in Arkham City. Okay. Cool.
Selina is so annoying in this game, there's this whole side mission that's basically just her and it's really irritating
FUCK YOU EDWARD NYGMA THAT DRIVING COURSE WAS BULLSHIT AND I COULDN'T GET THROUGH IT NO MATTER HOW HARD I FUCKING TRIED
I actually just kinda hate driving games generally and there's a LOT of driving in this game but you get used to it eventually and it becomes easier
Gotham Knights (2022)
My Personal Rating: 10/10
My Total Hours Played: 46.9
Steam Rating: Mixed (68%)
Description: Batman is dead, leaving Dick, Jason, Barbara, Tim, and Alfred to pick up the pieces and finish what he started.
Play If You're Looking For: Batfam content, a perfect mix of “holy shit I haven't cried this hard in years” and “this is the funniest thing anyone has ever produced ever, goofy dialogue and one liners, and casual queer rep.
Things I Liked:
The map is HUGE and genuinely feels so unbelievably alive in a way that I don't think any other Batman game even comes close to in its depiction of Gotham– like I could write ESSAYS about how well this game captures the experience of living in a big city like Gotham (let me know if you want me to make a post about that actually lol)
Collectibles that are actually reasonable and fun
Super fun side missions
Absolutely gorgeous graphics
The characters can emote and all the Batkids have their own dance moves :( and Jason dances like he's 70 years old it's really cute :(
Even after completing everything in the entire story it's STILL fun to go patrolling because it keeps generating new crimes– premeditated or otherwise– for you to fight and it's really fun
The Batkids have a pride flag in their house ☹️ and Dick has a bi flag mug ☹️
Things I Didn't Like:
Literally everyone hates this game for NO FUCKING REASON it's genuinely fantastic you guys are just losers
Talia is unfortunately characterized kinda shitty and it makes me sad bc her design is incredible but she does some OOC stuff :(
You can customize your suit but not as extensively as I would've liked
This game gets kinda hard to play at points because it's really hard to see your screen through all the tears (cough cough the last boss fight cough cough)
Batman: The Telltale Series (2016)
My Personal Rating: 5.7/10
My Total Hours Played: 9.1
Steam Rating: Very Positive (86%)
Description: A 5 episode point-and-click adventure following Bruce Wayne as he faces some of his biggest challenges, both as Bruce and as Batman.
Play If You're Looking For: Minimal combat and story-centered gameplay.
Things I Liked:
I love love love the character designs in this game, this is actually one of my favorite versions of Bruce possibly ever
You get a lot of opportunities to make Bruce and Selina kiss in this game and I said no every single time and it was very gratifying for me
Alfred and Bruce have an incredibly sweet father-son relationship (if you play your cards right, anyway) and it makes me really emotional because Bruce literally loses EVERYTHING over the course of this game and Alfred is there at his side the whole time
The ending was really satisfying overall and actually made me enjoy the game a lot more
Things I Didn't Like:
Chapters 2-4 are INCREDIBLY stressful, especially for me because A) there's an involuntary psych ward commitment and B) there are a lot of themes around the Wayne's developing a bad reputation and being hated, which are massively triggering for me personally and because I don't have the spoons to play through the whole thing at once I had to sit in that stress for a while before it concluded in-game
Batman: The Enemy Within (2017)
My Personal Rating: 4/10
My Total Hours Played: 10.2
Steam Rating: Very Positive (91%)
Description: The sequel to “Batman: The Telltale Series”. John Doe is let out of Arkham and seeks to take you up on that favor you promised him.
Play If You're Looking For: BatJokes, Angst, and a lot of “Is Batman Good For Gotham?” Stuff.
Things I Liked:
The opening chapter with Mori was kinda fun
I think Amanda Waller was written pretty well overall
Things I Didn't Like:
Fucking any of it lowkey 😭
Same as the other Telltale game tbh
For me, it was emotionally exhausting and really upsetting, but that's just kinda because I HATEEEE the “impossible choice” trope in any almost any media, I just never enjoy it, and there's a LOT of it in here
The ending made me wanna kms because there's literally no good option here what the fuck
Like I get that's the whole point but. Okay what if I kms what then.

Creating Aesthetic Posts On Tumblr! 🎨
Do you know the exciting thing about formatting on Tumblr? You get to do what you want with your post.
However, if it's still confusing how you can make that happen, let's dive in right away.
♡ 🌹 ♡
STEP ONE: Know your post.
Figure out what your post is about and get it ready. Is it a prompt, an excerpt from your story, your characters, or writing tips and advice?
Ensure you already have the draft edited and ready.
STEP TWO: Major headlines or titles.
If your post has headlines, use the biggest font for the title. Examples:
⚔️ Five easy ways to get a novel done in 6 months.
Chapter 2: A Broken Mirror. 💔
👉Interview with my characters.
STEP THREE: Minor headlines or subheadings.
If you have subheadings or minor headlines, use the bigger font. Examples:
✯✯Read books to be a writer.
✯✯Attend local writing events.
✯✯ Share your work for feedback.
✯✯Write consistently
✯✯Set goals.
STEP FOUR: Colour and highlights.
You can colour your text too, to prove a point, highlight an important message, or for beauty. Long press or highlight the word, phrase, or sentence you wish to add colour to. Example:
With the recent activity happening lately, it has been concluded that it's dangerous to go outside at night.
Give me a reason why you chose to call at such an odd hour.
Cats and dogs are great pets.
Be my bestie!
STEP FIVE: Bold and italics
Long press or highlight your words to bold or italicize.  Example:
I can't believe she just said that.
STEP SIX: Embedded link and link box.
If you have a link you want to share, you can do it in two ways.
👉 Embed the link in a text by long-pressing or highlighting the word, phrase, or sentence, clicking the chain icon, and inserting the link. Example:
Buy me a rose if you love what I do to support me.❣️
👉 You can also click on the chain icon to generate a link box, then paste the link in it, and click enter. It would show the content of your link. Example:
If you'd like to support me, buy me a rose.
STEP SEVEN: Emojis.
Use emojis to enhance the beauty of your posts when you feel the need to. Example:
My beautiful plushies just arrived, guys; unbox with me!! 😍🧸
STEP EIGHT: Emoticons
Use emoticons. They are similar to emojis, but made up of signs and symbols. You can use them as emojis or as beautification. Examples:
✅ I pranked my brother with water balloons yesterday; now he hates me. :(
☞ Some items my friend asked me to get for her birthday. ☜
☞Heels
☞Balloons
☞Dress
☞Cake
☞Confetti
☞Donut
☞Punch bowl
STEP NINE: Use listicle
To organize your work and keep it clean, make use of lists. Examples:
Wake up in the morning.
Brush your teeth.
Wash your face.
Eat breakfast, and
Drink coffee.
OR
Wake up in the morning.
Brush your teeth.
Wash your face.
Eat breakfast, and
Drink coffee.
STEP TEN: Images and image descriptions.
You can use images that are free for use on sites like Pexels, Unsplash, etc. Example:
Tumblr media
OR
You create your own images on Canva. The image could be infographics, mood boards, etc. Example:
Tumblr media
Image descriptions: To increase accessibility, click on the ellipsis on your image, click 'add alt text, then enter a description of your image. See examples above!
If you are an artist, your art can be added to your post where necessary.
STEP ELEVEN: GIF
Use GIF when you feel like it.
Tumblr media
STEP TWELVE: Memes.
Create memes on sites like Memix to add a comical side to your post. Example:
Tumblr media
OR writing-related memes like:
Tumblr media
STEP THIRTEEN: Polls.
You can add a poll to ask the audience questions, giving them specific answers to choose from. You can also set how long you want the poll to last from the drop-down icon, and have up to twelve options.
To create a poll, click on the beach wave-like icon located in the lower right, next to the two human-like figures. Example:
STEP FOURTEEN: Music.
The headphone icon is to add any music to your post. Could be a music that speaks more of your character, etc.
STEP FIFTEEN: Tags
You can tag your mutuals, friends, or people you want to see a certain post. In most cases, writing games and challenges.
@tahbhie
Before posting your formatted post, add # to increase the visibility. There's an option under your post that lets you do that. Click the plus icon and you're on your way. Popular writing tags: #writerblr #writers #novel writing etc..
☞ You can mix all of these ideas to get what works best for each of your posts.

Just finished Several People Are Typing and I see why @peripapaya rec'd it to me so highly, this is EXACTLY my jam
I'm a little flabbergasted that it's tradpub and not.... on ao3 or someone's blog??? Not in a snob way at all, to be clear, I think it's great if Doubleday wants to publish really excellent chatfic. But for me this story feels like The Northern Caves or Caught Up in Our Stories or Q.A.B. and it's messing with my mind to get the same kind of experience from an ebook I got on Overdrive.
(Note: this does mean if you like SPAT, there's a wealth of similar content to find on AO3! I highly recommend the first two links above -- TNC is an original work, and CUiOS can be read canon-blind.)
Well, okay, two caveats on that claim: First, genre-wise Several People Typing is more like Bellweather (dysfunctional workplace comedy) or Welcome to Night Vale (similar type of wacky-existential-horror, also gay). Although I'll note that the three AO3 works i linked above are all very different genres from each other as well -- the common thread is the epistolary-for-the-internet age format. Which is a thing I happen to enjoy a lot, so if you want more recs just ask. I could keep going...
Second, SPAT is a purely a chatfic, whereas the three stories I linked above are *impressively* multi-media. And they do some really brilliant things with that formatting!! SPAT, on the other hand, does some brilliant things with the *constraints* of it's text-only, trad-pub formatting. Tripp & Beverly's subplot, in particular, relies on the fact that all the emojis are written out text codes ( instead of 👍 and of course the infamous :dusty-stick: ).
I will say in the realm of pure chatfic, I haven't seen much on AO3 that rises to the heights of SPAT in my esteem. Maybe The Origin of the PresAux Sexy Group Chat (though it's very short); Adventures In Attempting To Purchase A Book From That Weird Old Soho Bookshop, A. Z. Fell & Co. (why do these all have such long titles) if you want to count forum posts as a kind of chatfic; and of course the deservedly-much-lauded RE: Thesis defense issue (definitely check out the article it's based on as well) if you want to count emails. I love all three of these a lot. But SPAT has a little more meat to it. Gerald and Pradeep's developing relationship, the whole thing with sunsets, Gerald's (and Slackbot's) philosophical meditations on corporeality... I'm not saying it's the deepest thing I've ever read but there's some interesting stuff there!
I mean, okay, I'm not a super philosophical reader, I was mostly here for the fun characters and wacky workplace drama and even wackier metafictional elements. 99% of chatfic on ao3 is just recycled memes and, frankly, i like a lot of those too. But sometimes you do find chatfic with a little more actual plot and characterization... still, Several People Are Typing is really is a cut above the rest. Which only makes sense b/c it's made it through (presumably) something like a traditional publishing gauntlet.

A Business Proposal
A little while ago, I posted an interest poll for a series I'm planning. Since many of you responded that you were at least curious, I come today with... limited information. Limited, because the novel version of this series is currently being read by a literary agent.
But I've always felt that this story was too big to be contained in book format. Under a traditional publisher, I would lose the rights to my own property, so if they didn't want to see more of it, that's that for myself and the characters and the readers who fall in love with the characters. Self-publishing is harder. It needs to be a collaborative effort between writer and readers if it's going to succeed. Thus, I turn to the only audience I have with my "business proposal."
(Note: If you've been around long enough, you might recognize some of these characters from posts that have since been deleted.)
~*~
Working Title: Trainwrecks Length of Series: 8 seasons Length of Seasons: 24 episodes, 12 main and 12 bonus, posted biweekly. (Each season will last three months.) Episode Length: 1000-2000 words Setting: Seattle, Washington and its surrounding towns, between the years 2004-2015 Genre: Contemporary, YA to New Adult
Trainwrecks follows a diverse group of six best friends from high school to their mid-twenties, with all the romance, heartache, college and career decisions, and confusion that entails. Our main cast:
A bubbly, fat Puerto Rican girl with a passion for art and matchmaking (Ages: 14-25)
Her adopted, Argentinian brother, who is adept at music and pretty much nothing else (Ages: 16-27)
Their childhood best friend, an Asian/British/American guy who hides years of trauma behind a flamboyant and overbearing personality (Ages: 19-30)
His ill-tempered younger sister, who has just moved back to the United States from London after their parents divorced fifteen years ago (Ages: 14-25)
An equally bad-tempered Hawaiian/French guy with a love of photography and a hatred of bullies (Ages: 14-25)
The coolest, most beautiful Chinese girl you'll ever meet, who is fighting a sex addiction after a history of abuse (Ages: 16-27)
Main episodes will be written in story format. Bonus episodes will be in epistolary format: MSN chats, text messages, letters, blog posts, and eventually Twitter posts. Y'know, cuz Twitter didn't exist in 2004.
The main series (8 seasons, 24 episodes each) will be completely free to read and delivered directly to your email inbox. There will be character artwork, a bio page to keep track of everyone, a tie-in Tumblr account for memes, Spotify playlists for each character, and helpful things like family trees and relationship charts as well. Each season will have its own key artwork---cover art, if you will.
In addition to the completely free story, there will be extra content for paid subscribers and Patreon patrons, including but not limited to:
Sneak previews/early updates
Side stories
Back stories
Character and universe development notes
Entire AUs with different relationships or different genres
Money raised will either go towards paying artists or towards my student loans. And if the series gets really popular, I intend to launch a Kickstarter for physical copies that will include all the artwork and maybe some bonus items as well.
That's my business proposal. If you like it or have questions, comment on this post, scream in my inbox, chat me---do whatever but do it vocally because I need to know you're out there. And then, feel free to follow my Substack for updates.

My posts
Initially I wrote, “I ran my mouth about the Watcher streaming/paywall situation because I make bad decisions,” but I think the post has actually gone over well? In short, I want to see them succeed but I am also deeply fuckin’ baffled. I so desperately want the tea about what was really going on behind all this, and how the guys are reacting to it now, and I really hope they can turn this around somehow.
Side note, Friday was CHAOTIC.
Reblogs of interest
The Hot Vintage Lady Polls are escalating in round four. We got to a point where I posted propaganda for Ava Gardner AND Dorothy Dandridge in their matchup. Probably the biggest scandal of round three was Vivien Leigh getting knocked out, but she’s now High Chancellor of the Shadow Realm. The most contentious matchup this time seems to be Judy Garland vs Natalie Wood, which is nearly 50/50 as of this writing. But keep your eye on Hedy Lamarr, who may have Mifune Sweep energy.
(I think I love these brackets for the same reason I love Dracula Daily: it’s delightful that thousands of people on Tumblr actually have deeply-held opinions about things from many decades ago, and if they didn’t before, they do now.)
(“I’m Katharine Hepburn, and this is Jackass!”)
--
Happy Bread Day (Observed)!
Hozier Watch 2024: “Why Would You Be Loved” has arrived on the Wasteland, Baby! special edition. I like this post about how that song is in conversation with “No Plan,”one of my favorites. (I wrote about “Movement” a while ago, but I could have fully inflicted an essay on you about how “No Plan” pulled me out of my six years of hiding from the internet. Anyway, it’s a great album from a few years ago, check it out if you haven’t.)
Generally I keep my mouth shut about Taylor Swift, but the new songs sure have some lyrics. I love Florence Welch, but I’m scared.
You’ve heard of spoon theory, now check out spell slot theory
“You’re either frolicking in this field with me, or...” is funny, but then you get to the reblog.
What if we lay in this field together and held feet
A deep breach of etiquette with a little dog named Gucio
A story about statue vandalism with a delightful twist
You gotta fight mint with mint (like I can bring in my lemon balm, but at what cost?)
I saw this post about feeding wild skeletons on Pinterest and I loved it so much that I tracked down the original.
Once again, Holy Shit, Two Cakes theory
Remember the haunted house I grew up in? Yeah, it had a carpeted bathroom like this.
“gonna start formatting my posts like fics on ff.net circa 2008” will do you exactly the psychic damage you’re imagining
The Round Table attempts to use Zoom
Video
Lil Nas X covers “Jolene,” Dolly Parton loves it, and @oscar-wet-and-wilde has further Black Country recs
A big loud steppy
“He’s retrieving”
Crispy meows
Watching this angel of a Doberman get a full spa treatment is also self care
AND YOU DARE SAY NO MORE TREATS??!?
The sacred texts
I don’t like thing, now with artist credit
Personal tags of the week
I love when I can use a really niche, specific tag, and this week, it’s mouth perfect size for meme, with a little shaped on the side.

Tumblr Content Mastery: What Resonates with Users and Why It Works
Creating content that resonates on Tumblr involves tapping into the platform's unique culture and understanding what its users gravitate toward. Here’s a breakdown of content types that tend to perform well:
1. Visual Content
GIFs: Tumblr is known for its love of GIFs. Animated GIFs, particularly those that are humorous, relatable, or fandom-related, are highly shareable.
Art and Illustrations: Original art, fan art, and creative illustrations gain traction. Artists often find Tumblr a supportive place for sharing their work.
Photography: Aesthetic photos, especially those with a distinct style or theme (e.g., nature, fashion, architecture), are popular. High-quality images are more likely to be reblogged.
2. Fandom-Related Content
Fan Fiction: Writing stories related to popular movies, TV shows, books, or video games. This content is often reblogged by members of the fandom.
Memes and Fandom Jokes: Content that captures the inside jokes of a particular fandom can spread rapidly within those communities.
Fan Theories and Discussions: Posts analyzing plot points, characters, or future events in popular media.
3. Text-Based Posts
Quotes and Poetry: Short, impactful quotes, poetry, and micro-stories are widely shared. Posts with a strong emotional appeal tend to resonate well.
Personal Stories and Anecdotes: Posts that share personal experiences or thoughts, often with a touch of humor or vulnerability, can attract attention.
Tips and Advice: How-tos, tutorials, and life hacks are useful content that gets shared, especially if they’re presented in an easy-to-read format.
4. Niche and Subcultural Content
Subcultures: Tumblr users often rally around niche subcultures (e.g., goth, cottagecore, vaporwave). Content that caters to these subcultures can gain a dedicated following.

So, it’s pretty obvious to everyone that I haven’t really been here lately. Life happens, and things changed, and I have had to come to the difficult conclusion that… my interests have changed.
Up until now, I have spent my time on this blog using icons, writing extensively, using the queue system, using a complicated tagging system, using a thread tracker, and trying desperately to keep up with every single one of my interactions. And although the writing and creating stories alongside you all has been an amazing experience, I have to take a step back, at least from the way I was doing things before.
Let me make one thing clear: I am not leaving Tumblr. I may or may not move blogs, but at this point, I’m not leaving.
However, I have decided to become a low activity, iconless, casual roleplayer. What does this mean? Well, I’m not going to have a thread tracker anymore, nor am I going to use icons. I’m not going to write in small text — or do any formatting at all, really. I’m going to start and drop threads as I wish. I’m going to answer memes at my own discretion. I’m going to only answer IMs if they don’t make me anxious. I’m going to use muses that I want to use, when I want to use them. I’m going to write with the people that I want to write with, and the people that want to write with me. I’m finally going to prioritize my own needs.
I understand that this may sound harsh. I understand that this may sound selfish. But one thing that I’ve had to learn and accept lately is that there’s a fine line between selfishness and self-care. Putting yourself first is not selfish; it’s necessary.
And if people don’t want to write with me because of this, that’s okay. And that’s something that I have to accept.
My muse list is going to become fluid, meaning that I will have a list of muses that I will write, but I will focus on the muses that I want to focus on at any given period in time. My tagging system will change; I will start to tag things much more simply. OOC posts will simply be tagged “ooc.” IC posts will simply be tagged with the muse’s name; for example, if I was writing a reply from John Kramer, it would be tagged as “john kramer,” and so on and so forth.
I hope these changes aren’t too drastic. If they are and you no longer wish to write with me, I wish you the absolute best, and I completely understand. I truly do love each and every one of you, and I’d like to personally thank you all for being a part of this amazing journey so far. And although my interests have changed, as of right now, I will still be here. You know where to find me! ❤️

CANON DIVERGENCE NOTES & RULES BELOW THE CUT:
RULES:
NO DRAMA. this blog has a strict no drama rule. i do not have a lot of energy and so writing is my only hobby i can really do anymore. i deal with chronic pain daily , so i do not have any time or patience for drama. do not bring it to me. i don't want to be involved. i will block people who break this rule.
RATING / CONTENT. do to the nature of this blog , this blog is a mature blog , and you must be 21+ to interact. this is for my own comfort and there will be no exceptions. this blog will feature very triggering content. i will be tagging any triggering content with the following format ' tw trigger here. ' so you can block any triggers accordingly to protect yourself. i also will not be offended if you don't follow back. we are all in charge of keeping our spaces safe for us. ( any threads dealing with HYDRA muses will be tagged ' tw hydra muse. ' as i know some make people uncomfortable. smut may also find it's way onto this blog as well , and will not be placed under a cut , but tagged with ' usfw. '
FORMATTING. i will be formatting my posts , and will be using custom spacing , bold , italic text as well as page breaks and icons. you are by no means required to use any of this to write with me. this is for my own amusement. i judge if i want to write with you based on if i think our muses will mesh well.
SHIPPING. i love shipping with people. it's also very easy for me to ship something , as i am a shipping whore. that being said , please approach me before assuming a ship. i promise i am a very nice person and would be happy to discuss it. this is just how comfortable i am with shipping. just a quick im will do. i also prefer to plot out ships so the asking helps with that too.
NOTES:
STEVE ROGERS IS BI / MALE LEANING: i've tried writing him straight , bi , pan and gay , and i've just found it to be the easiest to write him bisexual , and leaning toward men over women. there are some women who he is attracted to , but it usually takes time for him to get to know women before he'll develop feelings for them. (this blog does not ship steggy.)
STEVE WAS FOUND IN THE ICE IN 1982: howard stark never gave up his efforts , and would eventually find steve in the ice where he crashed the plane in 1982. he was brought out and heated up but there were some complications with thawing him , leaving him with joint pain that doesn't go away completely. after coming out of the ice , and recovering , he was kept in a cabin away from society on nick fury's orders until he was ready to join society. that lasted two years. in 1984 , he began working for SHIELD , working closely with agent romanoff.
SAKOVIA ACCORDS DID NOT HAPPEN: plain and simple , i do not partake in any of the plot for CW , and have no intentions in doing so. i am happy to rp non MCU CW plots , but i just don't vibe with the way they portrayed steve rogers from that point forward. i'm also more than happy to rp trials of muses and stuff like that. but just won't be engaging in any MCU CW plots. (that does not mean i won't rp with muses from that movie like zemo)
STEVE DOES NOT GO BACK TO PEGGT AFTER EG: seeing as i don't ship steggy , it doesn't make sense for my steve to go back in time to live the rest of his life with her. instead , steve stayed in the current timeline , helping bucky with settling into his life outside of HYDRA , he spends some time as director of SHIELD and training new avengers , and mostly just enjoys his time being retired. he is no longer captain america , and still passes the mantle to sam , and continues his her work as NOMAD if he steps into the hero game. (he says he's retired but we know it doesn't stay that way)
more will be added as i think them up. i will make posts to let people know this has been updated.

QUESTIONS FOR MUN
1. Who has been your favorite muse to play?
ughhhh this is hard...im gonna cheat and go for nostalgia ok
although i think i missed the mark with her muse in some places i have a special fondness for dahlia hawthorne and her specific brand of caustic sarcasm.
Tumblr media
i don't think i've ever come up with so many different creative insults during her runtime...also she had the neatest mix of relationships with random muses, not just in AA cast (tho i remember her tormenting at least 3 different feenies??) but beyond, notably izaya and edward cullen comes to mind.
i also really liked my run as kasen kanesada because he's a very lyrical sword (or at least works hard to cultivate that image) so i had to express that in writing and ended up having a lot of fun doing flowery replies and making up poetry and generally going big ham. (it did take a lot of mental energy though so i started losing steam later on.)
Tumblr media
i remember he had a thread with FGO Shakespeare that was pretty nice cause we got to be nerdy and talk about eastern/western literature lolololol, then for his challenge he had to kill like 5 ppl in 24 hours so i actually got 5 volunteers to get decapitated and RP'd mini threads with them all, which was wild (and again a very, very random mix of muses including X-Files Fox Mulder)
i didn't RP OCs back then but i like them a lot now too! the lack of art is an unfortunate reality but the amount of customization you get in exchange...so powerful.
5. What is the most difficult thing about writing your current muse?
stupid guy won't just kiss klaus and marry him that would solve 99% of their problems hey klaus are u listening u need to seduce this idiot or something so his brain has nothing but u all day to keep him out of mischief hey hey klaus
ahem
also his unspoken obligation to be lawful good (in his POV) really limits his ability to "act out," so sometimes i need to find different ways to de-escalate situations before he hits moral event horizon. you know, flattery and adoration goes a long way in wrapping him around your finger, i'm surprised more people don't try (i guess they can't stand him long enough to get there lol)
7. Who was the very first muse you ever wrote?
i remember answering this question on another meme maybe...?
there's a more accurate answer now: pre-tumblr, i remember RPing a Lopmon on some digimon forum once upon a time. also remember the mod that was RPing with me called me out for "slight godmodding" because i was describing how my digimon was crossing a bridge and apparently that was taking things too much into my own hands LOLOL
8. Have you ever written a novel? If not, does it interest you?
i've started written novels but i haven't finished any except for like, a couple of original oneshots. technically Veoc is a supporting character/love interest (spoilers: he's not the canon pairing) in a sci-fi story where i have the general plot laid out but y'know, actually writing it is... *flops down*
9. Do you write fanfiction, or have you in the past?
i definitely wrote more in the past but i've slowed down to a trickle since then. uhhhh i want to start up again, maybe with drabbles/oneshots, but i need to catch up on canon first before i try to do the characters justice
10. Do you like stylized icons and formatted text or do you prefer to keep things simple?
god a part of me regrets giving Aury his fancy brackets b/c i have to copy/paste that thing in every reply
so yeah i am never doing that again i just wanna open up a post and type my reply and be done with it, bless.
same with icons as long as they show a face and expression (or even body part) im happy wheee i've got plots to write
11. When did you start roleplaying?
i can't remember...gotta be probably early to mid high school cause i didn't know RP existed back then
12. Have you roleplayed anywhere other than tumblr?
forums, emails, tried a LJ group but my app got rejected so i didn't even get in (ROFL), tumblr has been the most stable medium with most long-term interactions though

♫ if HOME is where the HEART is, then we're all just fucked ♫
private, selective, && low-activity multimuse; featuring canon muses from animanga, video-games, literature, && more; loved && despised by anja ( she / they ); 21+
drafts: 27 inbox : 10 queue: 0
RULES && ROSTER BELOW
Tumblr media
♫ THE WRITER - i'm 27 years old, && i'm a tumblr veteran; i work a full-time job && have passion projects on the go. i enjoy hard cider, fall out boy && my cat. also i can't stop yapping. this blog is mostly to engage with friends ( old && new ) && to appreciate the stories && characters i love; i'm prone to tumblr anxiety && the occasional creative block, but at the end of the day i'm very much LIVE, LAUGH, LURK && can be reached easily OOC; i'm also happy to hand out my discord to mutuals.
♫ THE BLOG - due to the themes present in the source material, this blog will contain sensitive subject matter, as well as dark && possibly triggering content; i will do my best to tag everything appropriately. regarding certain* characters, i do NOT intend to water down // sugarcoat their morals, nor do i intend to romanticize // glorify any toxic dynamics rooted in canon material. NOTE: MY VIEWS DO NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS OF THE CHARACTER OR THE CREATOR.
♫ WRITING // FORMATTING - theoretically, i prefer paras. that being said, i prefer quality over quantity, && don't expect anyone to pull their hair out trying to match my freak. i stick to formatted small text && no longer use icons out of personal preference; how you format on your end is entirely up to you. my only request is that threads are trimmed && ask memes are carried over to separate threads.
♫ ETTIQUETTE - standard rules apply: no godmodding, don't force ship, respect me OOC, etc. also it's the year of our lord && saviour jesus christ && i shouldn't even have to say this but racism, homophobia, transphobia, proshipping, etc. are all big nonos, && if i catch a whiff of any of that nonsense, it's an instant hard block.
♫ SHIPPING - generally speaking, i don't like to start threads with pre-established relationships unless they are based on canon material, or are discussed in advance; i prefer to ship with people i know && am comfortable with. also, despite being much older than 18, i will not be writing/posting explicit nsfw material on this blog. nsfw mentions might come up and will be tagged.
♫ TRIGGERS - while i don't have any specific triggers per se, it should be mentioned that i am epileptic && would appreciate photosensitive content tagged (tw: epilepsy); if there is something specific you would like tagged, please let me know, && if i do forget, please yell at me to go back && tag it
