Hello again! It's been a while since I asked a question, so I have two (Only with villains Mako and Bolin, and also Bolin but in the style of season 4)
Villain Bolin in season 4 How would the rest of the season have developed? And at the end of the series, Bolin could have used only lava to flood half the city. Although he would have taken an army to capture the city and Prince Wu. Mako would have tried his best to reason with his brother, but in the end he sees that because he perceived Bolin as a "child" his brother became like that because of HIM. Mako will feel guilty even after death lol…
2. What if: Mako and Bolin were villains/antagonists?
The season would have been called "Roots of the Past" or "Bonded" I don't know how they worked as antagonists. Bolin, as the younger brother and dependent on Mako, plays like a "reluctant villain" and his arc will be about him becoming independent and seeing that not all people are evil or something like that. And Mako will hold a grudge against the entire Republic city because the city didn't help them. And they could become the first antagonists with a redemption arc in the Korra series.
It's always so interesting to think of what kind of villain Bolin would be, since while he definitely has a lot of reason to 'go evil' he is very kind and sweet. Perhaps that's why I enjoy the heelspin these musings allow. Though I tend to struggle to see Bolin as a potential 'evil leader' or standalone villain, because let's be honest, our boy has henchman vibes.
Tumblr media
1.
as we've discussed previously, Bolin being a vilain in B4 would be terribly interesting. Though my favourite idea doesn't have Bolin as a villain perse, and simply to extend his loyalty to Kuvira further. This isn't a difficult idea to implement, since Bolin is easily manipulated and Kuvira is good at emotional manipulation.
So I can see him pushing away his morals because Kuvira concinced him that the awful things they do are "necessary". With a lavabender on their side, the Earth Empire would've been even dangerous. And it would be interesting to see Bolin's charisma ans fame be utilised for propaganda and morale boost. Like captain America but for the Nazis/Soviets lol.
But yeah, it would be incredibly tough on Mako. But not out of left field. Mako does often treat Bolin like a child, and I can very much see how part of Bolin's insistence on staying by Kuvira's side was due to him essentially going through the "stunted development and raised by sibling" version of teenage rebellion.
Tumblr media
Especially if this argument stayed as their last interaction before the brothers spilt and Bolin officially turns his back on the Krew in order to throw his lot in with Kuvira.
It would also be fascinating to see Korra and Asami's reactions to this, particularly Korra's, who I think would also feel a bit guilty.
Bolin's relationship with thw Beifongs and Wei would be so interesting due to this shift. I think Bolin would still be reluctant to let them come to any harm, but that might make him even more dangerous in an attempt to help Kuvira intimidate them into surrenderring.
Which would obviously take a huge toll on mental health. And that would probably make him even more unstable and desperate to both succeed in the Earth Empire's goal, but still keep those he love safe. I can very much see him trying to fulfill two opposite objectives at the same time, and probably ending up causing himself a lot of harm in the process.
Tumblr media
2.
When I imagine the bending bros as antagonists, I usually imagine them in two ways. Either seeing them as having remained in the triads and eventually having gained a lot of power over Republic City's criminal underworld. Or, and this takes a bit of finicking, having them working with the Equalists in a weird "benders hating benders" thing.
Tumblr media
I think the triad AU is pretty self explanatory. The bros remained with the triads and continued to grow in power until one of them, provably Mako was elected leader, or until they took power by force. From then, there's a lot of interesting ways this can go. Either the brothers have assimilated into the triad life well and simply treat crime as a survival strategy, having been conditioned to be used to it from a young age.
Or they take it on as a sort of "take it down from the inside" situation. Have them trying to take apart rival triads before they somehow drive the Triple Threats into the ground.
Tumblr media
Now, having the bros working with the Equalists would be rather interesting. Since they are benders themselves. However, they were also orphaned by a bender and grew up on the streets where the primary perpetrators of violence were benders.
I can see them sympathising with the equalist ideals and wanting to help. Or perhaps they are under the impression that Amon doesn't want to whipe out all benders but just those who use thir bending for evil.
And since Amon probably arrived in RC a few years before the events of B1, he could've met young Mako and Bolin, seen a bit of himself and Tarrlok in them and taken them under his wing. Trained them and indoctrinated them into his beliefs. Also Amon and the Lieutenant can be their adoptive dads yay.
This could also serve us to see more of how Amon himself dealt with being a bender and also show us a very interesting rare perspective on bending

Hey Vi! I have a question for Zach and you! How do you both feel about "A Henchman's Loyalty" so far from the posts I've made?
JIG Message: Thank you for the ask! I just love this AU!!! I’ll put both their answers below the cut!!!
Violet’s Response
Hi dear! From what you have posted thus far, I must say I am intrigued! I never imagined Rex falling this deeply into villainy, he just seemed so sweet and innocent. He seemed like he loved the idea of villainy, but he would never totally engross himself into such actions. It’s like, to put it bluntly, he’s gone wild. And that isn’t a bad thing, it’s more like he’s embraced his inner villain, his inner self, his true self.
If this is what Rex wants, and he feels most comfortable with himself in this form, I am happy for him. But I do worry about him. He’s such a dear person to me, and I don’t want him to do something he might regret just because of the deterioration of his relationship with Paisley/falling deeper into villainy.
On a more positive note, I am loving his new look, he looks so badass and edgy… I just love it! I know he was not able to show this side of himself around Paisley, so the fact that he feels he can express himself with his appearance in his new position with Zach warms my heart! As I mentioned before, it is like he is embracing who he really is. He is trying to hone in and bring out this part of him that he had to keep hidden for so long, and it is a beautiful thing 🥹.
Zach’s Response
Well, I’m confused and alarmed by it, but also impressed. I’m confused because of the way Rex looks. Like… uhhh, why is he wearing heals taller than Violet’s, why is he wearing more makeup than her, and why is his hair so long now…I mean he can do what he wants, it’s his body, it’s a good look and all, and it’s what he likes, but I just don’t get it.
Then, I’m alarmed by his attitude toward me, he went from being all nice and happy to being flirty and touchy feely, and I am not into that if I’m not well acquainted with the person. I’m not saying it couldn’t grow on me, he’s a good looking guy and such a loyal worker and all, but it’s just off putting right now.
And speaking of him being a loyal worker…that’s why I’m impressed. I always knew he would do anything to please Paisley and complete her dastardly deeds, but the switch from him being a happy go lucky worker to such a devoted and evil employee and right hand man…I am so impressed.
He has this evil spark in him that cannot be quenched, and he has become such a valuable asset to me and our fellow villains in accomplishing our evil schemes and trying to take down the Wild Rats. It’s almost like his break with that goody goody Paisley has transformed him into the ultimate villain.

Another Pokémon AU thought.
Dr. Zor actually does care about their Pokémon to some extent, at least much more than they do for their employees. They know there's more to be gained from earning their loyalty through respect instead of using fear as they often do. It's much harder and riskier to bully a violent sea serpent or giant scorpion than a bumbling human henchman after all (also imo it would be kinda lame to just make them Ghetsis 2.0). This does require varying levels of patience-a freshly revived Tyrunt is easier to tame and train than a pissed off Heatran. But eventually they do calm down and learn their place, learn to obey Zor and kill for them...
Zor: Tells an operative that they don't tolerate failure and rarely give multiple chances as their finger hovers over the Sharpedo tank drop button.
Also Zor: Comfortingly pets their Tyrantrum's snout, assuring him that he'll get to devour Agent Phoenix next time.

Rank your hirarchie AUs/concepts based on how often they cross your mind
Not just mine because hirarchie is a group effort
Vampire AU. Any version of it really. The Lodges just work so well as vampires.
Hiram actually gets Archie to murder someone while Archie's still in high school.
"What if the abuse was textual and also (usually) worse" (Usually set in s2 but also works well in other seasons; s2 is the primary jumping off point though)
Archie is not the first. He is special but Archie is not the first boy Hiram has groomed. (This is connected with my standing headcanon that Arthur Adams was in a similar yet different situation from Archie a decade back, just that he never rly broke with Hiram. That's why Hiram uses him as the fake FBI agent. It's not just a test for Archie, it's a demonstration of his power over Adams as well. "You know what I'm going to do to this boy and you will play an active role in facilitating it." And Adams goes along with it until he doesn't which is crucially after Archie demonstrates his loyalty to Hiram and Hiram calls him a 'good boy')
AU where Archie becomes Hiram's henchman post-graduation (semi-related)

Okay, so I’ve got the stupidest AU idea:
When Boq encounters Elphaba after the intermission she became the “Wicked Witch,” he’s spooked and looking around for a weapon. But as soon as she says she won’t hurt him, and appeals to having known him in school, he jumps at the chance to get away from Nessa, and begs Elphaba to let him work for her instead. She’s a little offput and unconvinced by how quickly he’s willing to switch his political alignment, but he manages to convince her that he’s secretly harbored sympathy for her cause. He reminds her how much he admired Dr. Dillamond and his teaching back at Shiz, insists he’s helped an Animal or two on the run in some small ways, says he wished he could do more but he doesn’t have a head for organized protest and doesn’t know how to truly be of use, but if only he had Elphaba to rally behind. And besides, surely she could use a companion that didn’t fail Home Ec, but in fact aced it and knows lots of helpful farming trivia and can totally do her laundry without messing up the intricate beadwork on that fancy new Broadway-costume-cloak she’s got on. What’d’ya say? Need a lackey?
Elphaba agrees on the principle that the more people on her side the better (and also being reminded how long it’s been since she’s done laundry), and having helped Nessa, she sets off with Boq as her new sidekick. Nessa is dumbstruck and heartbroken that Boq is so eager to leave her (and with her own sister!!), but she doesn’t get a chance to cast any ill-advised magic. Boq gets to keep his flesh another day.
This is not the stupid part of the AU. So far this is actually rather plausible.
Anyway, Boq helps Elphaba for a little while. It doesn’t bother him at all, because he has about zero political opinions, and is neither supportive of Animal-racists nor quite as critical of them as he should be. Trying to help the Animals’ cause serves him well at the moment, so for self-preservation’s sake, he gives it his all. Boq’s motto for life is to just survive in whatever situation he’s stuck in, and do whatever emotional labor is necessary to be convincing(ish). So sure, he’s a passionate activist, abso-totally-lutely 👍. But then he gets the chance at a better position, and decides to flip his political opinions again and talk his way into somebody else’s good graces.
Actually, Elphaba goes straight from Nessa’s to the Wizard’s place, so either we change things so there’s more time in between events (my preference), or there’s no “illegal Animal-helping montage” and Boq never has to prove his commitment to being Elphaba’s not-so-evil henchman. But at some point, Elphaba goes to the Wizard to rescue the winged Monkeys and give him a stern talking to, and Boq sees his chance to be protected by the most powerful person in Oz. Boq, morally grey as he is, doesn’t hesitate.
Elphaba tries to sneak in and set the Monkeys free without anyone noticing her until it’s too late. Boq was instructed to go around to the other side of the cage to help her, or he snuck off, or something else happened that separated them, but as soon as he’s out of Elphaba’s sight, Boq runs to the nearest guards and the Wizard and raises the alarm. The Witch is here! Elphaba barely escapes being caught, but doesn’t manage to free the Monkeys. She doesn’t realize Boq is the one who alerted the guards, and assumes he’s been captured and arrested and imprisoned, and makes plans to free him when she comes back for the Monkeys.
Boq, meanwhile, is pleading his case to the Wizard. He claims that he was imprisoned by the Wicked Witch and forced to serve her, do lots of horrible anti-government things, but he never forgot his true loyalty. As soon as he had a chance to betray the Witch, he took it, risking his life in the hope that he might provide some small bit of aid to the wonderful Wizard who has done so much in the fight against wickedness. If the Wizard would have him, Boq would like nothing more than to enter the Wizard’s service as a way of repenting for the deeds he did at the Witch’s bidding, and to join the fight against evil by helping the most good person there is. :3
The Wizard, a seasoned conman, sees right through the flattery. And he’s impressed. It’s clumsy, of course, ameturish and obviously over-exaggerated, but it has potential. Boq reminds the Wizard of himself. Only acting in his own self-interest. Just clever enough to convince people to like him. Just a good enough actor to seem happy and admiring when he’s not. Just a straight liar when it comes to flattery, and good enough at bending the truth to fit his cause the rest of the time. Above all, they’re both opportunists. The Wizard hires Boq as a personal attendant (aka do whatever random tasks boss needs at the moment), but secretly the Wizard is considering Boq as a sort of successor. If he can train that natural talent as a conman, and get rid of the few morals that might interfere with things, then in time, Boq might be exactly the person he needs. He’ll promise Boq power, which equals safety, and that’s all he’ll need to say.
So Boq gets a snazzy green uniform and works for the Wizard for a while. He hopes he’ll run into Glinda now and then, considering they work in the same building for the same person, but tough luck, buddy.
Before long, Elphaba comes back trying to free the Monkeys again. She expects to have to rescue Boq too, so she’s surprised to be met upon arrival by Boq himself, looking like a very green bellhop. She initially thinks he might have been pressed into service, but the look on his face tells her all she needs to know. Sellout. It’s like Glinda all over again, groveling in submission to feed ambition and all. She’s furious that he betrayed her, and swears never to give anyone the benefit of the doubt ever again. 🎵 No benefit of the doubt / Will I giiiiiive / Agaaaaaaiiiiinnnnnn 🎵 and all that jazz. Boq says sorry not sorry, the fugitive life isn’t for me, I saw my chance and took it, and you’re stupid if you wouldn’t have done the same in my shoes. I work for the literal Wizard now. I have a snazzy uniform and health insurance. It doesn’t get better than this. lmao you wish you were me. ;)
Anyway. The Wizard was expecting Elphaba to return for the Monkeys, and Boq was sent to meet her when she snuck in and bring her to the Wizard’s throne room so she and the Wizard could chat. He does just that, with Elphaba fuming at him all through the hallways until they get where they’re going, which makes it a really awkward trip.
The following encounter goes roughly the same. The Wizard does a more professional version of Boq’s “put a nice spin on the truth to win them over” tactic, and almost convinces Elphaba to trade her rebellion for the Monkeys’ freedom, but then she sees Dr. Dillamond and tells the Wizard no, I’m nothing like you, I’ll never join you, as protagonists do, and makes her exit.
When Boq is summoned back in after this disappointing (to the Wizard) result, he’s more than a little horrified at seeing what Dr. Dillamond has become. Boq may be self-serving, but he’s not heartless (ha), and he may not have cared that the Wizard was behind the whole silencing-Animals thing, but he had yet to be asked to actually interact with the Animals the Wizard has captive. Maybe he didn’t think the situation was that bad for the Animals, or maybe it’s just harder to ignore injustice when you have to look it in the eye, but the Wizard notices Boq’s weakening resolve.
Boq knows that the conversation with Elphaba was supposed to go a little differently, and asks what now? The Wizard sighs all regretfully, in the way that’s very ominous coming from villains like him, and looks at the cage where his winged Monkeys used to be. He says that he had hoped it wouldn’t come to this, because he had such high hopes for Boq (another ominous thing for a villain to say). Given more time, Boq could have learned to shut away old ideals and become powerful, influential, etc. etc. etc. But the Wizard has become a little desperate, and it’s time for the backup plan, and Boq is the perfect, candidate (because… I don’t know, some reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯).
Madame Morrible shows up, standing behind Boq so he can’t try to leave. Ominous trifecta!!!
The Wizard tells Boq that nothing is going to change, not really. Boq can still have all he’s ever wanted… as long as he continues to do as he’s told.
This. Is where it becomes stupid. I mean, I like it, but so far this AU has been fairly well-thought-up. The last bit is the part that makes me cringe self-consciously a little. But good news, cringe culture is dead, so I’m just gonna keep going.
Soon after the last, there’s some kind of third interaction between Elphaba and the Wizard. Don’t ask me how they get in the same space, they just do. Also Elphaba is hovering on her broom out of reach. She has the high ground!!! The Wizard says something to the effect of “you stole away my spies. So I had to make a replacement.” And Elphaba is like “more spies?” thinking oh man how many rescues am I gonna have to do in one week? Then the Wizard says “better than just spies. I have created the perfect soldier… for catching witches.” A blur flies out from behind a curtain and straight towards Elphaba in midair. She’s shocked to find her hands being tied by Boq, still wearing emerald city green, but having a pair of feathery wings and looking very ill at ease with the whole situation. Also in pain, very much in pain. This isn’t the result of a magic spell, not with Elphaba on the opposing team. This whole (literal) operation was like 20% Morrible magic tops, and the rest was questionable mad science. The Wizard didn’t even give Boq three full days to recover, and Boq is not only in pain but terrified he’s gonna pull out the stitches on those wings and plummet to his death, or bleed out from his back if the fall doesn’t kill him.
Suffice to say that working for the Wizard no longer feels like a “safe” job.
Elphaba basically says just that, trying to convince Boq to let her go by asking him if he’s really willing to suffer like this for the Wizard’s sake of all people. Stop making your “I’m on the clock” decidedly neutral face and answer me honestly, do you want this? Because you look miserable.
She can see that she’s winning him over. He loosens his grip on her.
Elphaba then launches into her recruitment campaign. She tells Boq to think of everything he’s been through, and how the winged Monkeys were forced into this exact same scenario before she rescued them, and that Animals are suffering like this or worse every single day, and if he would want someone to help him when he’s suffering than surely he can do the same and support the Animals’ efforts to push back against—
Elphaba is then interrupted by the Wizard, who put a lot of effort into this hyperobedient flying soldier of his and doesn’t want to see all that psychological manipulation go to waste. The Wizard talks again about how Elphaba is evil and he’s good, and how Boq is just like him and he’s proud of all the Boq has done, and if Boq stands by the Wizard, he can have power and fame even, everything he’s ever wanted—
And this is where Boq interjects to say that he’s never cared about power or fame or saving anybody. Literally all he’s ever wanted is to just get on with his own life like a normal person, without having to do weird and difficult things like this! Neither Elphaba or the Wizard care about him, they just care about how they can use him. And, you know, fair enough, because that’s exactly how Boq thinks of them as well. Glad we’re all on the same page.
Boq unties Elphaba’s hands, but makes no further move to do anything helpful to either side of this argument. He glides to a landing, exhaling in relief at no longer having to put stress on wings that haven’t even healed yet, and says that he’s not going with either of them, please and thank you. He’s going to leave right now, and don’t they dare try following him, or… else! In the short term, he is going to find someplace to get a decent coffee, and in the long term he is going to find a nice quiet farm to work on or a tradesman to apprentice for or perhaps even risk trying to fly over the great desert at some point just to get away from ALL THE CRAZINESS AROUND HERE. GOOD DAY TO YOU BOTH. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR REBELLION OR ATTEMPTS TO DEFEAT SAID REBELLION. BOQ OUT!
And he throws up his hands in exasperation and turns on his heel and marches away.
This isn’t bad. It’s just the wings bit that’s a little badly written, because it’s sort of unnecessary. I think I just like it for the drama. We can’t have (musical) Boq without a little transformation-related body horror at some point, now can we? He’s just lucky it’s not as all-encompassing this time.
Really though, the fact that it’s unnecessary and dramatic maybe just adds to the humor. Like, wow, good job giving me wings and making me look like a super powerful protagonist, I’m going to squander that immediately by wanting nothing to do with flying or protagonist-ing. You chose the wrong test subject, loser.

((Villain AU Shy is basically full of poorly controlled rage and no way to channel it until she finds someone to follow.
She's aimless but destructive and more than anything, desires approval and love. She lives to serve because to her, being submissive and acquiescing is the way she shows love. Destroying for her loved ones is the necessary way to show loyalty, and a joy to enact. She needs someone to help her channel her hatred and rage, and usually ends up as a sidekick or right hand henchman for it.))

Une's Nonsensical Ramblings Episode 4:
Evil!Stan
This au is a goddamn treat and I love every second of it. However, as great as it is, there could be some improvements to be made.
What is this AU about?
Essentially, a branching timeline from the portal incident onward. Stan gets shoved through the portal and, instead of escaping the Nightmare Realm presumably, Bill instead corners and catches him and messes with his mind and body - turning him into a Ford killing henchman with vicious body mods.
Pretty cool right?
Well, this is me we're talking about, so how about we go into details and make all of this so much worse?
How I would add to this:
We see that Stan is heavily polluted by Bill, via his slitted eye and sharp teeth, but I feel like we could push the extent of physical changes a lot farther.
Make his changes far more prevalent, and horrific. The area around his affected eye is brick like, the hard edges fading into porcelain cracks in his skin. The area black and almost necrosed. In a certain light he looks janky, stiff. Like he's standing far too roughly for something made of flesh and bone. Bill's corruption is in his every fiber, at times he will move in a jerky, non-fluent way that makes him almost look like a puppet on strings. He is uncanny, incorrect. Bill's blood stained puppet on rotting strings. Bill ripped him apart, and sewed him back up to his liking.
Instead of it all rapidly aging him like in the source, I think it'd be more apt for it all to have cut his life expectancy shorter than the usual. That he needs to make every blissful moment Bill has graced him with count, because he will die eventually, and sooner than later. His health is terrible, short lived. Bill is like a life support machine for him, without Bill he'd fall apart. He doesn't mind the dependency, he doesn't care about his life being held in the balance. That's not what it's about for him.
He knows he's expendable, and yet his loyalty is undying. That's the crux of it. Bill is so cut and dry that Stan knows in his heart the moment he dies he will be replaced and yet still he will follow Bill to the end of the world.
His mindset is like that of an extreme cult member. He thinks Bill as his Boss, his God, the end all be all of who he is and ever will be. The man that hung the moon and showed him freedom. And just as similarly, he sees Fords as an entity entirely as a lie, a fallacy, something horrific that he feels he is saving every Lee out there from. That they're selfish, uncaring villains that deserve no remorse or empathy from him. He loves his job, because he truly believes he's doing the multiverse a good service.
His head is a mess, a jumbled up nightmare of what it once was. The only thing in his mind is what Bill wants him to know. What Bill decides is the best for him to know. Stan truly believes that the only he needs to have in his head is what Bill has placed there for him. When he's thinking too much, or too loudly, Bill is sure to remind him at every turn that he's getting a bit too sharp for his liking.
He's a walking arsenal, a trained assassin for a Chaos God, he is quiet. Calculating. Malicious and sadistic. Yet the most painful part is just how much he's still Stan. He makes shitty puns, he laughs at word play, he loves money and gambling, and cars and smoking. He lives the life he wants. He even has family, in a twisted way forming through Bill and the other criminals and nightmares he calls kin. And Stan calls them family, because as far as he's concerned, they're the only thing that's ever treated him as such. He still loves family, the concept and the familiarity. It's his lifeblood, even now. It's just now, Ford no longer holds that place in his head.
He doesn't remember much of the portal incident, or anything past the day he woke up in the Nightmare Realm - his new home - but he swears his Ford had thrown him in as a sacrifice. And so, that's what he genuinely believes.
He isn't perfect, however. He has bouts of lucidity, moments where he'd come to clarity and become horrified, breaking down into a mess on the floor. They never last long, and he never remembers them when they do happen, but they exist. He has attempted escape before, each time being dragged back for more washing out of his mind.
The occasional incident never goes without punishment. Bills are especially brutal. A favorite of his is removing Stan's Bill-like eye for a period of time, lessening the focal connections between Bill and Stan and therefore making him weaker, forcing him to feel just how awful it is "without him", and to remember it the next time he feels like running.
What would a story for this be?:
This AU seems less like a story and more like a multiversal theme, however I have genuinely contemplated what a fic would look like for a narrative with an ending (and talked about it with @koraesdoodles and @trangenderstan on Discord respectively) and have come up with something I'd be excited to do.
To give a summary;
Being a multiversal threat, Stanley "Piranha" Pines is a menace to all those who share his face. A group of Fords, after searching many dimensions for him, manage to contain this Stan and try their hardest to rehabilitate him. Come to find the lead Ford of the operation was actually the original pair to this Stan. That they both went in that fateful day, but ended up in different dimensions, a side effect of Ford diving in after him whilst the Portal was self destructing. And all this time this Ford has been searching for him.
It would be a rough road for all of them. And a majority of the Fords would eventually give up hope on ever seeing anything from this. But not the origin one, he would continue trying.
And eventually, some breakthroughs would be made.
Other Add Ons/Misc. Stuff:
I did some sketches of this AU, my own additions to his design (though the original art is leagues above mine and I adore the design) and am currently in the middle of lining and coloring these. I will also be making an additional drawing mapping out scars because of course I will.
Tumblr media
I admit I had a fun time drawing stiddies who doesn't.

I absolutely love the Hermitcraft kingdom arc they’re doing right now because my brain is getting so many ideas (this became really long so I put them all under the read more)
We’ve got:
A sad pathetic wet dog of a king. Trying so hard to become menacing and enforcing rules but his pathetic vibes just overshadow his “kingliness”. If the pathetic hermit survey ever makes a comeback he would absolutely be my first option on there. Also his establishment of a new type of currency (~Royal Emeralds~) because his diamond coffers are empty is giving me DerpCoin flashbacks and I see absolutely no issue with this uh huh no siree this will go down well in Hermitcraft, a diamond currency server, mhmm, no problems here at all chief
A yes man with a knife ready to stab you in the back, the kingmaker Bdubs has once again put another person on a position of power that he is actually the true owner of. This scrunkly moss man has enamored me with his really obvious “villainous henchman who is ready to replace his boss any moment” vibes and honestly you go king— I mean, Royal Architect, sir
A king’s court that are like, one second away from taking the throne away from Ren themselves. 4/6 of them were at the Xisuma party (Bdubs, Cleo, Joe, and Cub) and yet only Bdubs was the only one who owned up to it. Their loyalties to the King are on absolute thin ice that I won’t be surprised if several (or all of them) become moles for any resistance brewing up on the server (or pull an Eret and betray Ren for like, The Perimeter or something). Cub’s video has most them ready to jump ship (or attempt regicide) during the part where King Ren is asking for their loyalty and paying them with ~Royal Emeralds~ so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Plus, the king’s court and the lack of diamonds in his vault isn’t even the only issue that our king has, we’ve also got:
Menace #1: Pesky Bird himself. I absolutely love that he is aware that we’re expecting a resistance from him, and his N.A.R. bit is very funny because it feels like he would break any second now and just pull out a resistance plan board behind the N.A.R. wall (not to mention his Rift thing because his way of telling a story with the AU Grumbot slaps)
Menace #2: Just a Tomato Farmer, Docm77, ruler of the independent state of the Perimeter. Honestly he feels like an overpowered supervillain who got bored of being a villain, so he got a piece of land that he could use for tomato farming and other farms that are gamebreaking but mostly for fun, but now King RentheKing is pulling the tyrant arc and Doc is like “whoops, time to go back to being super evil, I guess” and just pulls a L’manberg arc but he’s the overpowered one in the situation so what is Ren even going to do about him? Also, his Goat Tapes and the Perimeter National Anthem are ABSOLUTE BANGERS I highly recommend giving those a listen if you want to hear cool music alongside gamebreaking
Menaces #3, #4, & #5: the Soup Group. I’m not even surprised that Impulse, capitalist CEO of several shops on the server, is the first to take a stand against King Ren “thy must throw your diamonds into the pit” the King. Pearl “cleaning lady who likes to make soup but my past life is an absolute wet cat of a serial killer and a queen who will kick your ass” is also not a person that I’m surprised about. Gem, however, has that “my friends are doing this thing so I might as well join them” vibes and I love that for her. Also, GeminiSlay will be fun to see right alongside the other two who are admittedly bloodthirsty in their own rights (though for Impulse an interesting thing to think about is how Bdubs being on the other side of this “conflict” affects his plans, seeing as the Life series is vaguely canon on Hermitcraft so that is also fun food for thought). In their trio meeting as well, the way that the three of them plan to do a resistance by annoying the king off the throne is top tier, and the way that their vibe is “We’re going to destroy a monarchy :D” is something that I want to see further because I want to imagine a future Hermitcraft episode where this trio has “Committing Regicide | Hermitcraft Season 9” in their episode titles and it is just them putting Ren in a death loop while still using their positive vibes voices (This is me just wanting to see more GeminiSlay, Unhinged 5AM Pearl, and also maybe a bloodthirsty Impulse, don’t mind me)
This isn’t even my entire rant I can keep going with the rest of the hermits but yeah I love Hermitcraft Season 9 so much any hermit posting a new video is a joy to watch (even if it isn’t Hermitcraft content because I am here for the content creators on Hermitcraft and not necessarily Hermitcraft content itself). I am that one guy who is camped at the Hermitcraft website and being excited when the “All Videos” section updates, don’t mind me kskskksksksks

So I’ve had this idea rattling in my noggin ever since last night. It’s kind of set already in this vague world I had made for that one Deuce scenario I did of him being within a historical manhwa world. So like, take the world and apply it to this idea.
Seven kingdoms that are trying their best to stave off Phantom Blot monsters and trying to keep a general peace for all the lands. Though truthfully the kingdoms don’t really get along with one another and only collaborate in efforts to fight against a common enemy. Any other matter though like disputing over territory or supplies, the kingdoms are horrible at negotiating something peaceful. For each ruler of each kingdom is too haughty and self-centered for his own good.
A mysterious entity and its entourage makes itself know among the lands, a foreigner that is far from humanoid. A monster that is kin to the Phantom Blots. Yet unlike its mindless counterparts, this monster lord is much more intelligent and wise. It offers its services to protect the kingdoms and ensure longer periods of peace so that no more young adults have to be drafted to fight for their lives in campaigns.
There’s a catch though. The monster lord asks for a bride. The candidates? Any of the monarchs or somebody of their court from the seven kingdoms. Someone has to step up. At first, the monarchs are probably so against the thought of them or a court member being married off to some mysterious beast that can somehow protect their homes.
But the results don’t lie as the monster lord is able to take on hordes of Phantom Blots by themself with their magic and sheer strength. However, because the monarchs/courts are still somewhat villainous, they all have a plan that whoever marries the monster lord, they shall plan to assassinate it to harvest it off its magical components, teeth, and claws in order to fashion a proper weapon to be wielded against the Phantom Blots.
But haha, my little romantic ass thought, what happens when someone truly falls in love with the monster lord? The others may still want to hunt the beast… Will they fight to protect the monster lord? And where exactly did this monster lord come from? Drama, drama, and other things to mull about, but that’s the gist of it. So run down is:
Yuu/MC is of course the monster/beast lord. They’re HUGE, even bigger than Malleus and are very inhuman looking. Often hides their face behind a veil of some kind. While their actions are very strange and aloof, they’re actually a soft-hearted creature that yearns to understand what it means to be a humanoid thus them demanding a bride to help develop their understanding. Has a strong urge to protect the seven kingdoms for a mysterious reason.
Grim is Lord MC’s servant and closest confidant. While to some he may seem very unskilled to be called a proper servant, he has great loyalty to his Lord and will strike down anyone who says otherwise. Thinking of him being a catboy rather than just a talking cat in this AU.
I also liked the idea of Lord MC having a bunch of other various monster creatures and whatnot as their henchman and servants. They got a big ass, abandoned creepy castle to take care of anyway.
Of course, all the dorm leaders are the monarchs and each dorm member is a member of their court. Any of the guys could be shipped off to be wed to the monster lord.
But yep, that’s my idea. A take on the beauty and the beast sort if scenario and I just wanna play more with the thought of any of the guys next to a huge hulking monster of an MC/Yuu. If folks be interested, I’d def like to write more about this AU.

“SMS as someone else’s henchman” AUs can be really fun or funny but ultimately I don’t believe in them because while the conditions for SMS’s loyalty are extremely simple I still wholeheartedly believe JGY was the only person in the cultivation world who could have fulfilled them. the only person who would never look down on him.
and I am- a little bit emo about how that one line on the Jinlintai steps is so strongly held against JGY, by NMJ and also by the haters- that he’s accused of thinking he’s better and more important than other people- when what makes him so special!!! what makes SMS love him!!! is that he doesn’t think some people are better and more important than others! and that sets him apart from the entire rest of the cultivation world

seonghwa mafia au
absolutely have no idea where this came from but here ya go | masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“so why do you stick around?” seonghwa asks,, as you wrap the bandage around his shoulder,,
ah the million dollar question, wasn't it?
you had met him by accident,,, strutting into the building and seeing a murder wasn't exactly on your list that day,, but life works in mysterious ways,,,
you were a witness
and seonghwa wanted to erase all evidence,,
terrified,, you ran as fast as you could,, knowing you saw something you weren't supposed to see,, and seonghwa being the smart ass he was, caught up with you and confronted you,,,
begging for your life, you told him you wouldn't tell anyone and that he should spare you,,
and so he did,,
you thought you'd never meet him again,, erasing the memories of that particular incident
except the one day,, when he had no one to call,, he ended up right on your doorstep, blood seeping through his white shirt, a gun strapped to his waist,, collapsing in your arms,,
you took him in without any questions
and it had been like that ever since
any time he got injured,, you were his number one contact,
heck even most of the boys in his so called ‘clan’ or whatever it was,, came to know you,, and visited pretty often,, thanking you for taking care of their ‘eldest’
“i don't know why,” you answer,, despite knowing it all too well
you remember the first time you went out with him,,,
he had taken you out to a roadside restaurant as a ‘thanks’ for saving his life,,
“why were you injured?” you asked, straightforwardly,,,
“right to business, aren't we?” he chuckled,, running his hand through his silver hair,, “just some deal that went bad,” he replied.
“do you work for a mafia?”
he laughs at your eagerness to find out,, “’m just a henchman,” he says. “nothing too special, darling.”
“don’t call me that–we aren't even on a first name basis,” you hiss,,
“and yet, you still saved my life,” he grinned in response.
“yeah and I won't be doing it again,” you retort.
you laugh at the memory,, how many times had you done this before? how many times had seonghwa just said that something bad happened and rubbed off all questions? how many times had you gone out to dinner with him as a thanks for saving his life over and over again?
too many times, that's what
this is lethal,, and it's killing you, inch by inch, knowing that one day, he might die, considering who he owes his loyalties too, his pathetic clan that is,,
“don’t lie to me,” he growls, his tone, stern, grabbing your jaw to look at him,
he was still as beautiful as the first time you saw him,, tattoos lacing his skin,, his silver hair now dyed black,, the scar on his lower neck that he refused to talk about,, brown eyes that you could melt into,, and a face carved by god himself,,
“what do you want me to say, then?” you ask.
“the truth,” he speaks in a low voice. “I want the truth, no matter how much it hurts. I want to hear you say it,” as he removes a strand of hair from your face.
“why should it matter?” you chortle. “it won't stop you anyway.”
seonghwa stays silent,, of course, he has no reply,,,
but then the answer he gives is another bullet to the heart.
“I want you to get mad at me for once, for being so reckless, so bothersome, to show me that you're hurt, so that I have a reason to stay,” he argues.
“you want a reason to stay?” you repeat. “isn’t me bandaging your wounds despite being mad, enough for you?”
“it is–but I want your words, not your doings for once.”
“fine.” you hiss, leaning back on the counter. “i want you to stay. I want you to stop getting hurt by this stupid clan and stop painting yourself as the bad guy for the choices you never had. I want you to be happy, to live life the way you deserve because you deserve so much more and i–”
seonghwa interrupts your sentence, as hips lips collide with yours, jolts of electricity pulsing through your veins, his lips taste like heaven mixed in with sin,, the lips of a fallen angel who had no choice but to make a deal with the devil,,
you break the kiss,, chests heaving up and down,, seonghwa’s hands still cupping your face,,
“and i want you to never leave because–” your voice breaks. “i can't deal with the idea of you never coming back,” you complete, finally looking at him in the eye.
he pulls you in for a hug, kissing the top of your forehead,,, as you let your tears fall,,
“then I'm never leaving,” he whispers.

JC, JGY & LWJ for the character ask?
Hello Anon!
Let's see.
Jiang Cheng
favorite thing about them: the fact that even if he broke, he found enough strength to raise his head again and become who he is. That requires a lot of strength and I admire his headstrong attitude
least favorite thing about them: JC I love you, but you need to learn how tocommunicate your feelings in other ways than anger. That would truly improve a LOT of things.
favorite line: I'd have to rewatch the drama, but I don't really have a favourite line.
brOTP: JC/WWX
OTP: SangCheng, Xicheng, XiSangCheng - but I am a multishipper
nOTP: IDK, I still have to find a pairing that will make me go ew.
random headcanon: feel free to choose
unpopular opinion: he deserves a way less harsh treatment and more understanding, JC haters can s*ck my metaphorical d*ck.
song i associate with them: Let's see... Lazzaro by Subsonica, To every heartache by Lullacry. Man more, but these songs unhinge me
favorite picture of them: this one. it is just so soft and so asdfghjkl
Tumblr media
nJin Guangyao
favorite thing about them: the patience he has is unnatural, I WISH I had his patience and calm. He can pull on a perfect poker face, just slightlypulling it off when erge or even dage are around.
least favorite thing about them: he thinks too much about every possible outcome, thus resulting in a Power Rangers villain - yes, if he had just fled at Guanyin temple without involving anyone, he'd be in Dongyin way with his one (1) henchman very far from any drama, but he NEEDED to be a dramatic little shit and that was his biggest mistake. Because JGY is a dramatic little shit when he wants to appear oh-so-grand
favorite line: :) *dimples* - jk, I would need to rewatch properly the series
brOTP: you know, JGY/SS is a good brotp, but in my good AU that lives in my head JGY and JZX are bros
OTP: XiYao, 3Zun, NieYao
nOTP: I don't dig a lot the dynamics of JGY/XY. I mean, it would be hilarious, but not my cup of tea.
random headcanon: he truly fell in love with LXC, he fell for him like a ripe pear falls from the tree. And that is why he never wanted to hurt LXC
unpopular opinion: he should have known better where to place his loyalties. A lot of bloodshed could have been avoided.
song i associate with them: emperor's new clothes by Panic! At the Disco
favorite picture of them: unhiged_dimples.png
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji
favorite thing about them: he is such a dedicated man, who tries to understand the whole black and white vs grey morality. He tries his best to make sense of crazy situations.
least favorite thing about them: the fact that if it is not Brother or Wei Ying he is talking to, he is a complete asshat to everyone else. Pls, my boy, try to understand that you will NOT have always Brother and his Political Power to excuse your behaviours.
favorite line: the "you are not qualified" sticked with me for its pettiness
brOTP: LXC/LWJ, you know what, I'd love to see more of LWJ/NHS, considering that the respective big brothers are best friends I would love to see more interactions
OTP: WangXian
nOTP: I have not really considered a lot of ships, the power of WangXian is too strong
random headcanon: whilst mourning in seclusion he composed so many requiem songs that it made both brother and uncle worry.
unpopular opinion: IDK if it an unpopular opinion, but I think that composing WangXian.mp3 was a highly romantic gesture
song i associate with them: in your likeness by woodkid
favorite picture of them: LOOK AT THIS LOVESTRUCK IDIOT, NO THOUGHTS HEAD EMPTY, ONLY WEI YING.
