#a guide on how to get into qsmp

Hi, i just joined the fandom 3 weeks ago. Ive got you.

So this is the official youtube channel for the server snd it has 4 summary videos currently out that are really good for getting the broad lore bits. However some of the emotional parts kinda end up falling on the wayside because of that so i would also recommend this channel’s vids as well to supplement that.

Unfortunately neither of these channels vids are up to date with the lore so once you watch both of those, things getting a little more murky.

What i ended up doing is watching this playlist of clips starting at the point where the second channels videos ended. The only downside is that the channel that posts those clips that are in that playlist isnt the best at giving context for shit and getting so of those more emotional details either so i would recommend switching to this clips playlist after max’s leg gets fucky (youll know what i mean when you get to that point

Keep in mind that both of these clips playlists do occasionally have vids that aren’t super lore important and are more funny moments so you’re free to skip those or watch them depending on if your interested in seeing that kinda thing.

I would also say don’t forget you can track down the vod for most pov’s on youtube if you see a clip and you want to see more of a scene. Most of these clips are posted day of the stream/around the day of the stream so along with checking the character’s /lore page on the qsmp wiki you can usually find the exact one without too too much effort.

Speaking of which. There are two different Wikipedia pages that have slightly different information on their timelines. This one and this one. The second is the one i just mentioned for having the character lore pages which are really good for when you want to learn more about a pov you havent seen much of, especially if that pov is in a language you dont understand.

On that topic, theres a couple of ways to understand streams/clips that are in a different language than the one(s) you know:

1. Check the qsmp in game translator. It should be a rectangle with a bunch of text in it. Most streamers have it the the corner or top of their screen somewhere.

Downsides of it are that if a bunch of people are in one area the translator can’t keep up and depending on the streamer they may not have it translating to english.

2. Youtube captions. Pretty self expiatory for how to use, that being said if you do have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Downside is that not all videos have captions and uf they do sometimes the video gets set to being automatically in english instead of translating to English. This happens alot on videos where a non English-speaking streamer is reacting to a video thats in english.

3. Tiktok. Idk if you use tiktok but if you do you can find some good clips on there sometimes even if i would definitely not recommend getting all your lore from there.

For getting captions on tiktok, go to your profile then to your settings and privacy by clicking on the three horizontal lines in the top right hand corner. In there find languages and then set your translated language to English and always show translations to on.

Once you do get caught up or if at any point your like fuck it i wanna see whats going on in the lore rn would recommend checking/following the offical qsmp updates twitter accounts for both global and all the langauges on the server (you can translate a tweet by clicking on it and then hitting translate at the bottom) as well as the fan run update accounts for your fav pov’s.

You can also always check the latest on qsmp tab on tumblr as well in order to see people liveblogging streams which can be helpful in the same way.

Ok that was a lot of information and lowkey is a lot of work to get some story . Keep in mind that everything i just mentioned is my advice based off of what i did/am currently doing and you may not want to put in as much time/effort into this silly block game rp server storyline as me which is completely fine.

So, with the addition of 중력 to the qsmp, and even more KR ccs to come, I feel like it’s time to say it again; DO NOT LITERALLY TRANSLATE HIS NAME!!!

It’s okay to romanize it as ‘Jungryeok’, but please do not address him as ‘Gravity.’ I know we had this talk with 악어 (Acau) and to not call him crocodile, but I’m already seeing some people complaining about how hard his name is. It’ll take some time to get used to, but please please please call him 중력. If I had to give a guide on how to pronounce it, it would be like ‘jung-nyeok.’ It’s not one for one, but he’ll introduce himself and then you can base your pronunciation off of that.

This has been rattling in my mind for a minute and i need to scream about it.

The significance of the item display of the backpacks and how much that defines the QSMP characters.

If you dont know, Leo found out you can display an item in your backpack and show it off. Kinda like a little charm or a keychain. Ever since then, a bunch of people have been displaying items.

Lets start off with the trend setter.

Leo:

Her item is a totem. Obviously this is about Foolish. She spends the most time with Foolish and adores him. They are super close and are super similar. Another reason could be showing off her wealth. Also, a joke that she is immortal (she isnt) and its a bit of a hint to that.

Foolish:

His item is the player head that Leo always wears. Obviously, like Leo, it represents how much he loves Leo and the time they spent together. It also looks like Leo is in his backpack and showing that they are always together (Siempre juntos) no matter what.

Philza:

His item is a skull you can wear on your head. Now theres a lot to interpet here. The obvious one is that this represents Missa. Either that he always chooses Missa or that Missa is with him and Chayanne even if hes away. Again theres a lot to talk about.

Another reason is that death isnt scary for him / death is always there. Philza in general is associated with death (his irl wife's lore is being the goddess of death). With his son on one life for so long and now his granddaughter, he has come to terms with death. He isnt scared of the Code Monster. He will fight until the death no matter what.

Tallulah:

Her item is a poppy. I believe she gives poppies to people she meets for the first time. For me, it represents her innocence. In the way she views the world and how the world views her. Everyone sees her as a sweet girl and is super kind. Majority, if not everyone, always loves her. For her, she always views the world with love. She is told by Wilbur and Phil that her kindness and love is necessary. In a world full of terror and fear, there needs to be love and gentleness

Chayanne:

His item is a potato. For anyone who doesnt know, Chayanne is deeply inspired by Techoblade. Technoblade is known for being a incredible warrior and a great Potato farmer. Please look up his videos. Philza told Chayanne about Techno and again is deeply inspired by him. The potato is a reminder of Chayanne's goals. To help everyone and to protect everyone.

Richarlyson:

His item is a heart container, one used to get an extra heart of health. I have so many emotions about this. I think the main one is that Richarlyson is the heart of the Brazilians / Favela Five. He is the core, for better or for worse. He always loves all his dads. Even recently with how scary everything is, he still loves and trusts his dads.

Forever:

His item is a Nether star. I honestly feel like this defines his character so well. An item that takes a lot of time, resources, and strength to get. Forever has put in that time and effort. His strength shines in his armor and how persistent he is. Also, the nether star is needed to make the highest level of the block reinforcer. Its needed to make everything safe. Forever has shown that over and over again. He wants to make everything safe.

(Update, Richarlyson changed his to a nether star so him and Forever are matching!)

Cellbit:

His item is the universal block remover. I dont know how recent this change is, but I noticed it when he was in his federation office. Just like Forever, this defines his character so well. He is there to break something, either the Enigma or the Federation. He is trying to get inside.

BadBoyHalo:

His item is a Scythe. For anyone who doesnt know, Bad said he is the grim reaper. Either coming to people to remind them to drink water or that he helps guide people to the afterlife. A lot of people thinks that why he cares so much about the eggs. He is the one to transport them to the afterlife.

Mike:

As im making this post, Tazercraft went live and I noticed Mike has a red block in his item display. I dont know a lot of Tazercraft/ Mike's lore. I do know that in tazercraft's game of hide and seek, a red block is represented to show who is the seeker/killer. Maybe it relates to that?

This is everyone I can think of off the top of my head. Theres probably more people who have it, but yeah.

- unlike twitter we don’t have any main updates accounts instead to keep up with whats going on in the smp a lot of us simply read through the qsmp tag as thats where the majority of liveblogging will be at. a lot of bloggers tend to do summary/update posts for cc’s:) however the quackityupdates blog is here as well and tends to posts updates on tweets !

- do not crosstag anything unnecessary. do not tag minecraft under any qsmp post. that tag is used by mineblr and people specifically talking about the game. instead the main tag you should always use for posting about qsmp is simply “qsmp”. if you post fanart then you can use the tag “qsmp fanart” :D some general advice is try not to clog up your posts with incorrect tags or too many tags. for instance if you’re liveblogging a philza stream do not do #qsmp #philza qsmp #philza minecraft #qsmp liveblogging ❌ instead you can do #qsmp #philza #liveblogging ✅ (using philza as an example because if you tag #philza minecraft it will get into the mineblr tag so please avoid using that tag)

- how to make mutuals.. the age old question. on tumblr we don’t do the whole List of Interests follow me thing. a lot of us simply post our silliest thoughts into the main tag and you’ll eventually gain followers and maybe make mutuals! its all based on vibes and if somebody thinks you’re cool enough to follow back!

- since tumblr doesn’t have the same algorithm like twitter and is instead very self curated following people is important as is reblogging! reblogging helps boost posts and get more people to see stuff!!! so remember reblogging is vital to our ecosystem. a lot of us leave funny comments and thoughts in the tags of reblogs not the replies!! so keep that in mind:D

- block liberally. if you see a post you don’t like simply block and move on. sending anon hate/death threats is immature. the best way to handle that is to avoid engaging with it! like previously mentioned tumblr is a self curated experience. you have control over what you see and don’t see. you can also filter content and tags you may want to avoid coming across in settings!

- anonymity is a privilege. nobody here owes anybody anything. if you so choose use fake names, hide your age, etc. bloggers here thrive on privacy. nobody is entitled to know anything you don’t feel comfortable sharing! everybody is different not every blogger wants to share a lot on their intro posts and thats okay. remember to be respectful and treat everybody with kindness!

- tag neg and critical posts. for instance instead of tagging #qsmp #neg ❌ do #qsmp neg ✅ as the majority of people who filter those tags do it as #(word) neg or #(word) crit !

Anyway Quackity was one of the people on DSMP who was most involved in and invested in lore. Las Nevadas and the Butcher Army and the Red Banquet and everything with L'Manberg. He clearly loved telling the story he wanted to tell and playing on a roleplay server.

But a lot of creators have pointed out that the most fun they had on the server was when they were doing improv, when they were reacting to things that happened and building the story naturally that way. When things got scripted, when creators had to come up with and write and execute their lore basically on their own, when it stopped being playing and started being acting, that's when you got players disengaging and losing interest and motivation. By the end, literally every bit of lore was scripted. Most of it was prerecorded just so it could end up telling a complete story, instead of starting a dozen plot threads that had to be abandoned when the other people involved didn't answer your DMs or the big lore day that was meant to move the whole server's story along didn't happen. The last big, whole-server lore event only happened because Technoblade was dying. Communication was so bad that was the only thing that could get everyone to get organised enough for a single day of lore, a story event that had been set up for months.

And so when Quackity comes up with his own server, he wants it to have a strong roleplay element (if that's what the other creators involved end up wanting). Quackity loved his roleplaying on DSMP. But he wants it to be fun for the creators as well as for the fans, and the way lore was fun on DSMP was for it to be improv, not for it to be creators acting out a script. But things got scripted because once they set up a story, it had to escalate in a specific way in order for it to be narratively satisfying, which made it less fun. A single arc is fine, but things just won't work for more than that without at least a loose script. By the end DSMP wasn't roleplay, it was acting. Some creators managed to tell satisfying stories, but it wasn't the same as when it was a bunch of friends messing around doing Hamilton Breaking Bad improv because it was fun. The DSMP, for a good chunk of its life, was not fun to play on. So people didn't.

But how do you set up satisfying, coherent stories over a long period of time while also maintaining the fun roleplay element? Someone needs to guide them and develop them, but it can't be the creators on a server if you're going to keep the fun roleplay element.

Hence the admins, and their role not just maintaining the server, but in developing and guiding the story. Their role is basically a GM, in tabletop roleplaying terms, and the creators get to be player characters roleplaying in reaction to that. Creators don't know much more than we do; how many times have creators said they don't get told shit, have they been told to log on and been faced with huge big developments they didn't see coming and have to figure out how to roleplay that? QSMP works kind of like Dungeons and Dragons but in Minecraft. Keeps the story consistent and escalating, without the need for creators to sacrifice their own enjoyment of their content.

I don't know how stuff like Karmaland works, maybe Quackity got it from there. But as a former Dream SMP fan, I see Quackity taking the best part of DSMP and finding a way to make it work for something a lot more sustainable and ambitious, keeping it fun and enjoyable for both fans and creators.

Happy mother's day to all QSMP's moms but I'll focus specially on Bagi and Tina.

Bagi is legit a supermom, she's the only mom in Empy's life that's consistent on her life, and I do not say this as a jab against the other moms (there's a divide here between the cubitos and the ccs, you can't expect everyone to take care of a minecraft egg everyday but alas) so she plays a specially important role emotionally for her daughter. Even though that's a lot of responsability, she stayed comprehensible, accepting and always validating Empanada's feeling and guiding her though a not very easy life. I probably mentioned Bagi giving Empanada her headphones a lot of times, but it's such a clear example of how much she loves her daughter and does anything possible to accommodate her.

On the other hand, even though Tina was the only that asked Bagi for a child (weird thing to say to your not girlfriend you met a few months ago, but we all know she's a freak) didn't had motherhood coming to her naturally. She messed up a lot on her first day with Empy, and got very scared of being a bad mom to her, but she kept on trying, and eventually she got the hang of it. She's not perfect, as anyone is not perfect, but I personally love the talk she gave Empy about girlhood, being angry at other and at yourself and mother-daughter relationships after she had a small fight with Bagi.

Happy mother's day to them, and I bet Empy would do something really cute for them, it's a shame we won't get to see it this year.

Don't imagine the Ender King was using Phil as a vessel this whole time.

Don't imagine the Federation found out about Phil being the Angel of Death and was literally testing him to see how strong he truly is.

Don't imagine that during the Election Party when Philza lost connection, that was the Code Monsters tried to take over him to be the Angel of Death.

Don't imagine that the Code Monsters succeeded and when Philza "Came Back" all he saw was Chayanne calling for his Dad and telling him to get Tallulah b/c the Code Monsters are after her.

Don't imagine Philza seeing Tallulah calling for her Papa scared outta her mind b/c of the Code Monsters and Ghosts are trying to kill her and Chayanne.

Don't imagine Philza turning on the others and fighting Etoiles, Bad, and Fit, thinking they're attacking his kids. And it's Fit that tells Philza that his kids are at home safe and shows him the picture to prove it.

Don't imagine that he it takes Philza a while to break the "Mind Control" and go after the Code Monsters.

Don't imagine the Ender King had been inside Philza this whole time and was watching/observing everything and taking notes.

Don't imagine the Ender King was trying to take over Philza b/c when Philza defeated the Ender King, Philza now is the new Ender King but the old one couldn't let go so they had to Possess Philza to become even stronger. The true Master of Death. The Angel of Death.

Don't imagine Chayanne doing an internal monolog when he goes to sneak out to fight his Dad and prays to his Uncle Technoblade to guide him to bring his Dad back.

Don't imagine Chayanne having nightmares of the fight and waking up from said nightmares, only to have to look extremely closely to make sure that it is indeed his Dad and not Him.

Etoiles is currently talking about the parties with the QSMP members ans so far he said:

-he really felt connection with them he usually doesn't stay much at parties cuz his social battery get drained out quickly but for those parties he was one of the last leaving (and he said he had no alcohol excuse since he doesn't drink)

-He said he really loved talking with Forever's girlfriend and Philza's wife. He said it was cool to talk about real life

-He keep saying how nice and social Forever was aaaaaah 🤲

-He was the one guiding everyone in Paris since he's the only french CC living here and it's why they ended up at Kameto's facilities/locals yesterday evening. He said Kameto talked more to the QSMP members this might than the whole time he played on the server AHAHAH

Once again I'm thinking about Richas being rushed and not supposed to be seen in the state they found him

I honestly think Richas was supposed to be the egg given to the french.

He knows a bit of the language (Yes, ik that the meta reason is bc Ricardão is an overachiever and was learning french before the QSMP) when he barely knew Portuguese when he was found. And the French arrived not too much after the Brazilians, in a planned crash

Probably Pomme and Richas were in development at the same time (as we saw yesterday that the Feds are still constantly creating new eggs) and Richas was further in development, just missing his leg. The Brazilians crash was unexpected (Or maybe even supposed to be after the French and Pomme would be their egg) and clearly alerted as an invasion and a problem to be dealt with

They were the only ones that the islanders had to fight to get to, while the French were clearly displayed without much trouble (Maybe this will be debunked with the Germans arrival, we'll see). They had no fancy theater either, going over a dirt patch

Now, back to the eggs and the comparison between Richas and the others

I saw some ppl say that Tallulah is also a "rushed" egg bc of her disabilities but I genuinely don't think so. Besides her hearing and asthma, she's a perfect egg on the outside. She might have some trouble but she'd be perfectly capable of finishing the Parkour tests or any other that would be given to her. Plus, she wasn't just thrown in the attic by herself, she had a cage. She was on display for Wilbur to find. She has a bed model fit for her

Same for Pomme. She was in a cage, and the Federation themselves guided people to get to her by giving her coords. On the very first day, Pomme also had a bed model individual for her, with her beret

Richas, to this day, doesn't have an individual bed. He uses Tilin's bed still. Also, the Feds would have the perfect opportunity to introduce Richas in the middle of the other cracked eggs when they were returned, but they didn't. When the Feds told the islanders to go get their eggs, they only specified the parents that already had eggs and that they had been returned. The Feds didn't call attention for the Brazilians to get their egg as well. Richas wasn't in a cage in the attic to be found together with the others. He was thrown, still covered with preservatives, in one of the empty cages down stairs and the other eggs that found him, specifically Dapper, Bobby and Leo, who got BBH's attention, who got Slime and Quackity's, who then called the Brazilians.

Richas was a rushed afterthought so they could pretend they were expecting the Brazilians, but they weren't. The fact he has one leg is just another proof, and yes it would mess with his test if they had time to put him through the parkour, because guess what? Richas was SHIT at parkour. They tried to teach him during the Immortalyson day and Bobby finished perfectly while Richas had a lot of difficulty with the last bits. His dads knew it was due to his leg and told him there was no problem, they'd help him learn how to do it in a way that was fair to him

Richas also always points out how he didn't have a cage or have a bed special for him, joking that it's because he's Brazilian and the Feds hate them. He also is the only egg that seems to have problems with someone else's memories being mixed with his, probably because the Feds had no time to give the last touches to his mind before dropping him at the Adoption Center

Anyway, Jinx random wartime q!hgduo spitball ramblings/ headcanons/ off-the-cuff analysis ig cuz I like thinking about them ^_^

I think they didn't meet at the start of the games but maybe a few months to a year or two in- I'd say either when Cellbit is about 15 or close to being 15.

By that time both Bad and the currently nameless teenager both had some sort of reputation as dangerous, ruthless, and maybe even downright cruel killers on the battlefield. One way or another they ended up becoming partners much to the horror of everyone else.

For Cellbit he'd recognize that sticking by Bad increased his chances of survival by a LOT and this dude doesn't even get mad when he takes bites out of him which is great.

For Bad I feel like he could've gone through the games alone with not much trouble but staying solo gets stale and lonely after while- he'd have teamed up with other players in the past but they all either died or left him eventually- he thinks it's gonna be no different with Cellbit but is pleasantly surprised when he's proven wrong.

And boy was that a good thing, because Bad has a bad habit of getting attached! He fed this stray cat a few times and now it's following after him and Bad doesn't have the heart to shoo the poor beast away!

Although Bad has much more experience and is vastly older he respects how much fighting skill his teenage partner has- he can hold his own on the battlefield- which is why he doesn't view him as his 'child' or a dependent but somewhere in-between an equal and a protege. Cellbit deferred to his leadership during fights, but theirs still a mutual respect between them.

Later on their bond would end up in a sort of vague area in the middle of a triangle between mentor & protege, equals, and something dangerously close to familial.

I find it hard to doubt that there were times when Bad would be shockingly reminded that his partner is in fact still a child... and perhaps times where Cellbit would find himself relying on Bad the ways a child would their parent or older sibling... Maybe at some point letting his funny little friend eat his flesh or spending resources healing him became less about keeping him healthy for the next battle and more about keeping him alive just a little bit longer- Maybe sticking by this powerful ally became less about pragmatism and more about companionship.

That said, as far as Cellbit's concerned he never had a family, as far as Bad's concerned his children are Dapper and Pomme... Cellbit's all grown-up now and so much time has passed that they see one another as something more akin to just 'old friends' who know what the other is capable of and thus know better then to underestimate each other... but I feel as they spend more time with each other again the echoes of the dynamic they once had become more tangible- especially given the major toll of the eggs being missing. Cellbit knows he can turn to Bad if he needs him and Bad will look out for Cellbit when he can even as he is (quite ltierally) falling apart.

Maybe sometimes even now he still can't help but see that nameless kid when he looks at Cellbit.

I honestly don't think Bad regrets the way he guided Cellbit during the war- nor do I believe that Cellbit harbors any resentment over Bad's influence in his life- even if it's left him with the same sort of fucked morals his former guardian has, his terrible self-sacrificial tendencies, and who knows what else. The reality of their situation during the games could never allow for softer forms of kindness- there was no time for them to be a 'family' and no time to think about what happens 'next' after this is all over. Bad couldn't teach Cellbit how to live, but he could teach him how to survive.

I haven't really settled on what I think happened at the end of the 'war' when they part ways... but sometimes I do think about how in the actual video Cellbit dies at the very end and man that can be interpreted in a lot of interesting ways- like obviously in qsmp canon Cellbit survives the war but it's still fun to take that into consideration!

Anyway, you know those images of predator animals with blood covered on their faces after eating a tasty meal- yeah that's them during the hunger games to me LOL

... Also does anyone else find it really funny that Foolish's adopted son and Badboyhalo's protege ended up getting married like- something about that is just really funny to me... Also I'm surprised no one has done anything about how the dude taken in by a totem of undying found love with the guy who was guided by a grim reaper like- I feel like there's some cool potential there!

My headcanons I use within my writing from DSMP, QSMP and beyond;

Dream SMP: -Emerald earrings are given to those blessed by the Death Goddess, which includes; c!Techno, c!Philza, c!Niki, c!Ranboo, c!Eret, c!Foolish, c!Wilbur and c!Tommy -c!Techno, c!Philza, c!Eret, c!Foolish are ageless beings who can travel across the Realms -c!Philza uses his crows to send messages across the servers and dimensions -c!Techno and c!Phil can force their will upon Wither creatures to somewhat guide their decisions, they are still rather unruly beings -c!Techno's hound army is made up of the souls of those he and Phil defeated in battle -c!Techno can summon them at any time to do his bidding -c!Techno and c!Phil can make the conscious decision to leave a realm when they feel they have accomplished enough -c!Phil wears a braid that now has seven beads around the end in my QSMP tellings; Rose pink (Techno), daffodil yellow (Wilbur), leaf green (himself), blood red (Tommy), indigo purple (Ranboo), caramel brown (Niki), ocean blue (Chayanne) and gold (Tallulah) -c! and q!Phil suffered from injuries that greatly reduced his ability to fly for long periods of time, in some of my tellings he loses one or both wings all together depending on the canon the story decides while I write it -c!Eret is also known as Themis, where c!Foolish is their Undying Totem -c!Eret is blind from the long-term exposure to Withers from when they were set to be sacrificed by a Wither Cult. The only way to prevent the diseases progression was the Death Goddess' blessing. -c!Eret is related to Herobrine, where c!Foolish is the Death Goddess' first child with DreamXD until he went off on a power trip. Then She found c!Phil and had c!Wilbur. Which means technicially, c!Foolish and c!Wilbur are stepbrothers in my pantheon. -c!Eret contracted c!Techno to assassinate c!George when he was crowned after c!Eret was dethroned. c!Techno's only exception to his anarchist demands is c!Eret because they are fair and leave him alone, threatening c!Dream to do the same post c!Eret getting their throne back -c!Wilbur can also communicate using his Mother's crows, whether that be within the same server or across dimensions -c!Techno went to comfort c!Tubbo after the fireworks execution cause c!Techno might act like an emotionless badass, but he will always have a soft spot for youth -The Death Goddess is the one who prepares souls for their next chance or ferries them off to their afterlife -Herobrine controls all limbos (I also dubbed them 'the Unknown One') -DreamXD's controls travel between dimensions primarily, the Goddess can also use this ability -c!Ranboo's earrings all have meanings; a small L’Manburg flag (a momento to the nation lost), a bee (c!Tubbo), an allium (c!Tommy), a fox (c!Fundy) and a cookie (c!Niki) all hung from silver chains beside the gold-gilded emerald -The scars of previous deaths persist on your skin in the DSMP universe, as a reminder of how you died. -c!Eret is Harpocrates in the Syndicate, there was just never an opportunity to reveal themself as such. They were sworn in shortly after c!George's assassination.

-c!Technoblade and c!Philza make a point of brushing and braiding each others hair every morning they live together.

ALRIGHT QSMP TIME; -Everyone forgot their previous lives except q!Philza, the Angel of Death, for the first few weeks of that world. Also q!Wilbur, q!Niki, q!Bbh, q!Foolish -q!Philza still closely guards the emerald earring he will always wear

Chapter two: the bear

After a day’s travel, Jimmy finally arrived at the costal port the letter had specified, all the fog from the ocean covered the sun and seemed to sap the color and life out of everything, including the residents, who all wore neutral grays and browns, Jimmy had bright yellow wings, blonde hair, and a frosty blue denim jacket, which made him stick out like a sore thumb amongst the locals. ‘Where is my escort? Phil said that they would find me but I-’ he felt a hand on his shoulder, snapping him out of his thoughts.

“Hello.”

Jimmy whipped around to see the person whose voice was so robotic and- oh. He was face to face with a strange 8-foot-tall bear. At least it looked like a bear, the closer Jimmy looked, he saw stitches in the white fur and a speaker poking through the fur on its chest where the creature’s heart should have been. The bear creature tilted its head, holding out a book. Jimmy looked it up and down again before taking the book.

“Are you Jimmy Solidarity?” he read, “uhm- yes. Why do you ask?” Jimmy looked up at the bear again. The bear gestured for the book again, Jimmy gave it the book and waited patiently while the bear wrote in the book, “Are you some sort of mascot?” he asked, hoping to get some sort of confirmation that the bear wouldn't kill him. The bear ignores him, handing him the book again. Jimmy took it, “I am a part of the QSMP Federation and your guide to Quesadilla island.” Jimmy looked up, “So my brother sent you? That seems odd… I mean I don't have anything against you but I feel like my brother wouldn't send something like you.” The bear simply took the book from Jimmy.

“Follow me.”

It started to walk toward the dock, leaving Jimmy to scramble behind it. “Wait up!” Jimmy called out as he dashed after the bear, he didn't expect it to be so fast for how large it was!

The bear stopped at the end of the dock. A small boat in front of it. Jimmy ran up behind it, “You gotta give me a warning next time- I nearly lost you for a second.”

“Hahaha”

“Don’t laugh at me..! Now is this the boat we are taking?”

“Yes.”

Jimmy nodded, pushing down the feelings of dread and fear that had been forming in his stomach. He slipped into the boat and sat down on a nearby chair, and the bear walked to the control panel. ‘Why does this bear give me the creeps…’ Jimmy thought, glancing around nervously, ‘This whole thing feels super sketchy to me, how do I know this is actually my escort? This may be a ploy to kidnap me or get to any of my friends through me, maybe I should go back-’ the boat roared to life, causing Jimmy to jump. “I actually forgot something, if you wait here I can quickly fly back and grab it-” The bear froze, prompting Jimmy to walk to the back of the boat, unfurling his golden wings.

Before Jimmy could lift off, something pricked the back of his neck. Jimmy reached back and felt a small tranquilizer dart. As if on cue, the world started to spin around his feet. He tried to talk, but his tongue felt like a rag in his mouth. As Jimmy tried to get his bearings, the white bear walked to him, tranquilizer gun in hand. Jimmy blinked and found himself on his knees, the spinning world making him retch.

The bear stood over him, then knelt beside him.

“Hahaha”

Jimmy looked up one last time at the bear in a moment of clarity before passing out.

Before QSMP, I had DSMP

…

I remember when I first learned about Karlnapity really fondly, and it was genuinely the first time I’ve learnt about polyamorous relationships. I saw throughout stream clips that they all loved each other and had adorable interactions. They were fiancés and had plans on having a wedding

But it never happened

They lacked communication skills. Karl didn’t tell Sapnap or Quackity about the fact that he’s a time traveller and that he loses his memory every time he travels to the past. Karl and Quackity got into an argument because Karl forgot about him while Sapnap had to watch both of the people he loved dearly argue with each other. And yet, I still thought they’d pull through…

But it never happened

DSMP ended and they never got a happy ending, they never got to reconcile and actually communicate

They never got their wedding

So I did whatever anyone else would do when canon fails them, and read fanfics. Fanfics where they lived together in domestic bliss, fanfics where they met in a different universe but still fell in love, fanfics where they got their wedding

…

But then, something new came up

In all honesty, I knew about QSMP ever since Quackity announced it and it seemed really interesting too, but since I was (and still am) in High School, I couldn’t really catch up. So I mainly relied on liveblogs to help guide my way throughout its story. It wasn’t much but at least it was something. And I was semi-interested in what was happening on the first multilingual server in Minecraft

And then, June 1st happened

Cellbit proposed to Roier and they had plans on getting married. Part of me was excited that those two were gonna tie the knot and become husbands, but on the other hand, I had a feeling this might be karlnapity all over again. And low and behold, the wedding got called off

But, things went differently this time

They managed to reconcile after the wedding got called off (ngl I’d forgive my fiancé too if found out that my relative [which said fiancé murdered] was still alive /j) and they even went on a date. And then Cellbit proposed to Roier again, and Roier accepts

I finally managed to watch a QSMP stream live on the 16th of June, and it was one of the best things I have ever seen. People dressed their cubitos up for the big day, Cellbit walked down the isle to the alter where his husband waited for him, and they were pronounced married, they kissed each other and walked hand in loveable hand to where they had a wedding cake, they tossed their bouquets, and they sang a duet that forever changed how I listen to ‘The Reason’ by Hoobastank

They finally got their wedding

And I couldn’t have been any happier.

Qsmp September 14 Event with Tubbo, Roier and Slimecicle: A Summary

-Tubbo, Roier and Charlie were given clue books to start the event containing separate parts of a coordinate they had to combine and go to; they waited around for 20 minutes before they realized this

-Roier's Maxican Lag came with a vengance

-Charlie learned how to say blowjobs in Spanish

-Charlie became from hostile towards Fred's presence to egregiously horny for him (Tubbo was not pleased)

-Fred lead them to an underground cavern entrance and left them to it, saying they were on their own now

-The three of them infought continuously throughout this entire process

-Roier tried to break up Charlie and Tubbo fighting over Fred by telling them to kiss

-The three found a redstone contraption that got blown up by a creeper, making Fred have to guide them to a new area

-Fred aka "Freddy Fastbear" occasionally disappeared around corners they were to follow, and left torches that led the way

-Roier had to pee in the middle of finding an important clearing

-They found an entity with an inverted Cucurucho's skin of a black body and red facial features; "Cucurevil" let out an ominous laugh before disappearing

-They found a room with the center encased in protected invisible blocks; the center had the clothing of the missing eggs with a spin wheel right at the core (Charlie made Roier take pictures of him twerking in front of them while Tubbo refrained the urge to kill them both)

-Tubbo found a way into the area with his last enderpearl, not realizing he would need another to get out

-Tubbo spun the wheel, causing lava to cascade and almost kill him if not for his grappling hook; Roier told him Tubbo didn't do anything wrong and did his best while Charlie told him he killed everyone (a very angel and devil on the shoulder situation)

-The lava kept coming until it covered the whole area, and Tubbo was forced to warp out to Tallulah's after a mental breakdown over potentially killing the eggs

-Mobs started swarming Roier and Charlie; the mobs downed Charlie and Roier swooped in in the nick of time to revive him so he could warp to Spawn

-Roier remained in the dungeon for a bit, fighting for his laggy life until he was able to escape the mob swarm and warp out

-Charlie had a keycard for a door they couldn't get into previously that he didn't think to bring up until after they had left, so they went back (this time they actually prepared for a dungeon run)

-Roier revealed that Polispol was the very first gamer in existence

-Roier and Tubbo fought together to clear the entrance hallways of mobs while Charlie scouted

-Lava started cascading down from the ceiling of the entire cave system, forcing them to run as fast as they could to the exit (the imagery of these lava moments make for great fanwork material imo)

-Tubbo caught an invisible admin laying down mines in the act, of which his callout was promptly met with him being doused in lava

-Explosions opened up an area below the ground the three accidentally fell into, showing a Federation room with a locked door; Charlie's keycard didn't work for it, and it got flooded with lava and mobs, forcing the three to warp out again

-This second warp did not make them realize they should place a warpstone in the dungeon

-They sung Shakira on the third way back, deciding not to pursue the inner dungeon anymore but rather a ladder they earlier passed by; they did not find it, but they did accidentally find Missa's basement

-Overall, a hectic, laggy, horny, and very chaotic lore event. 10/10

hi ur a tumblr blog that i like a lot who's really good with wording things when it comes to discussing fandom stuff. i'm wondering what ur thoughts are on fandom being really obsesssed with writing characters exactly "right". whether it's in character or writers only writing this character with other characters they like, etc. i've seen people feel self conscious about their writing and even stop because fandom will just go "why are you guys writing them like this/i'm so tired of seeing this trope/so repetitive." Fanfic writing should be fun. it shouldn't feel like the end of the world if they're writing the same things several times over. even if a character isn't 100% accurate, or they don't include that character's other lore or relationships or background or whatever. and i'm saying this as a sbi fan who got so tired of all the typical sbi tropes back in the day! sorry for this long tangent, i'm just wondering what your thoughts on this kind of stuff?

HELLO. Okay, so.

First of all, I absolutely am tracking with the paralyzing fear that you're writing someone or a trope Wrong, and people are going to get mad at you, they're posting right now, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... maybe I just don't write it. I have put story ideas on the back burner because I'm scared of writing specific people in the idea. I noticed it especially in QSMP, you can come up against the issue of depicting people from languages you don't speak and with disabilities you don't share, and the fear that a) people will be mad at me, b) I will write something Actually Bad And Harmful— that's a vivid fear. If you decide that writing a specific character or specific read on a character is not worth the risk of blowback if you do it wrong, that's fair and I can't fault you.

But on the other hand, if you find joy in a character and you're afraid to depict them, and you step away from them, that's kind of a tiny tragedy. I understand the fear, but if your fandom participation is driven by fear, I would say that's a good sign that you need to step back from the fandom— find a new way to participate or find a new place to belong. I have a lot of anxiety and I have had to take a step back from keeping up with fandom several times, I go "okay I leaned into this a little too hard, time to unfollow some people" cause I can track in myself if my fandom creation is being modivated by fear rather than joy. And there's enough fear in my normal life, I want this to be a place of joy.

Because the thing is, if the way someone's love of a character plays out is that they post impassioned posts about characterization in the character tag, that's also fair. They get to do that. They love the character, and this is a guesture of love. If they are specifically calling out other fics that they think "did it wrong", there's a sliding scale there from "pointing out egregious racism/sexism" to "straight up being an asshole to baby writers" and that could be anywhere on there, but someone dropping an impassioned two thousand word guide to how best to write their favourite character is not hurting me or anyone else, they're also following their joy in fandom. That's not my joy, but it's a valid one.

Cause I think there's something that draws us to the characters (or the plotlines) and it's perfectly fair if someone wants to go "okay here is point by point how to depict the character that we all love", and you're running the risk of being an asshole if you go too far into it but there's also nothing wrong with going "I do not know why everyone writes this character as a humourless fighter, guy could not go more than two seconds without cracking a joke, did we even watch the same streams", as long as you're not being actively rude. Especially with people pointing out ableism, racism, sexism, etc— I can see why they would not want those tropes to continue unchallenged, and I think much of the fandom would not want to be accidentally doing a racism. I see those posts and I go Good To Know and I sock that information away.

But also, on the other hand, like, if the fandom police show up at my door/in my comments, they can come back with a warrant. If I want to take two characters who never met in fandom and have them passionately make out, that is my god-given right, no matter if it's butchering the characterization. Maybe I am the True Knower Of The Character and I know that their real true love is somebody who they never met. Maybe I just think it's funny. That's perfectly fine. This is a space where we do work for free, for fun. This is about having fun, no matter if it's cringe or cliche. If I want to write a trope that has five thousand hits on the archive about those characters already, just try and stop me. I will be writing superhero aus till they have to pry me out of this fandom with a crowbar, I think. Overdone trope? Insert "You've told this story before" "AND YOU"LL HEAR IT AGAIN" gif. My Ao3 is my little yell hole for writing things that please me, and by god am I going to write the same two characters over again in the same series of situations. This is for fun, I'm doing what's fun.

I think you just have to do a check on yourself and go "is this hurting anybody", and if it's not, straight up do what you want forever. Other people can go "I only want to see this character written as a bear" and I can go "I respect that but this fic is not for you" and write them as a nerd, and they're not hurting anyone to say that, but I'm also not hurting anyone to do it my way. I do care about depicting the character as in canon, cause that's the character I fell in love with, but also if I write a story in which I turned up the dials on his anxiety and made him adorably worried about social misteps so I can reassure him that he's fine— I also get to do that. It's not hurting anyone to be silly or cliche or cringe or make the blorbos kiss or have them be friends with different people or ignore all aspects of lore that do not bring you joy or what have you. Our fandom now, do what you want.

I think that there are a lot of different ways to do fandom, and a lot of learning to exist in fandom is letting other people do their own thing over there, and then you follow your bliss over there, and you can be as aware of them or not as you wish, but you don't have to cater to what other people like. In MCYT we do sometimes worry about creators who are only doing things because their fans/twitter want them to, and how that will lead to fear and creative burnout, and the same applies to fandom people. I think it's not a bad thing if you personally are concerned about writing the canon character and you keep going back to canon to check that, but it's also not a bad thing if you are four generations down in fandom characterization just having fun with it. And in both cases I think it's fair if the person who really likes canon doesn't read the fanon one, and the fanon person goes "but where is the [fandom tropes I like]" and doesn't read the canon one. Not everything you write or draw is going to be for everybody, and that's fine. I even have friends who love unhappy endings and I do not, and we're still friends, I just do not click through on their unhappy ending fics.

Mostly I just think you have to check yourself and go "is this actually bad or did I see someone post a rant about how tired they were of it" and if it's like "this is sexist" maybe consider if you agree with that person or not, and if it's "this trope is overdone" then do whatever you want forever.
