#a few minutes later as she tried to crawl away it came back and attacked her again. terrifying! for no purpose!

pet peeve is when a story tells us something is aberrant, but it seems to matter more about who does the behavior than the behavior itself. rorschach in snyder's watchmen isn't going too far; we watch nite owl and silk spectre ii snap necks and arms with gleeful, loving abandon, in slow motion no less, while they lecture the audience about rorschach's violence. heroes frequently torture the plot contrivance out of a villain and then moralize to the camera when the villains do the same. indominus rex's killing spree doesn't shock or appall me; all the jurassic world dinosaurs act like mindless killing machines, and the camera lingers, rapturous, on their cruelty. it's not an outlier. there's nothing interesting about it beyond as a set piece.
in a better script, the indominus rex would have had pathos; a chimera made for entertainment, for profit, stitched together with no regard for itself and placed in a lonely box. a freak among freaks. of course it would be mad. but the film wasn't interested in it as an animal, or a character, only as a moving piece of scenery for people to scream at or breathe tensely while it can clearly smell and reach them but doesn't, because it isn't a character and doesn't have motivations.
it's just sort of boring, i suppose. it tries like all other empty drab things do to cover it with bombast and roaring and soaring brassy scores but it's just sort of dull. a sprawl of nothing.
conversely peele's nope is a transcendent monster movie, imo, because it thinks about the the whys and hows, how jean jacket perceives the world, how the world perceives her, and lets that shape the narrative as much as jupe or emerald or gordy. they consulted biologists and behaviorists, digging into the meat of it. the creature as a camera as an animal as a device. nope has layers. it takes its own insane premise seriously, and has something to say, and is a goddamn good movie. i forgot where i was going with this.
#always rattling that quote from peele about the difference between horror and comedy being a matter of timing#creature horror is my favorite horror and most of it is Bad but i love it. sometimes you strike genuine gold and other times. well.#drives me crazy when monsters behave only in ways meant to be scary rather than how a real living thing would act. you can do both.#i remember hearing about a woman attacked by a moose in her own back yard. it gored and stomped her then left back into the woods#a few minutes later as she tried to crawl away it came back and attacked her again. terrifying! for no purpose!#a prey animal attack is often more frightening and vicious than a predator's imo#because to be eaten -- that carries its own logic. a prey animal though holds fear and rage and desperation in the core of it. it Knows.#a lion is a simple creature compared to a beef bull who just managed to corner the farmer against the fence#unlike say movie monsters continuing to chase and kill and attack while a volcano goes off around them and literally burns them to death#don't get me started on the icy swimming feathered raptor#also the goddamn dimetrodon in the caves like. i have never seen a beast less suited for a goddamn cave. why is it acting like that.#the book jurassic park goes into the behaviors and dynamics and such of the dinosaurs and what it means that we made them and why#using the cutting edge of science to craft both story and its monsters#but the franchise is dreadfully incurious#as many franchises end up being in the end#frog croaks#i guess i wanted to complain about the jurassic world franchise specifically actually#i haven't read crichton since high school. maybe i should revisit and see if my opinion holds lol

SVU team X Autistic Victim teen reader
Literally started watching Law and Order SVU yesterday and fell in love with the show well the sixth season at least.
This will be my first ever L&O SVU one-shot.
Summary: The team are called in after a Teen was beaten up by two other students.
Third person pov...
The smell of the hospital woke Y/N L/N up, they had always hated the smell of the rooms it made their sensory issues skyrocket.
Opening their eyes they are meet with bright white lights, groaning they close their eyes again, sitting up carefully being mined full of their injuries.
Slowly the teen opens their eyes again, this time the light was not as bad, Y/N looked around the spacious room, the teen was alone in the room.
They could not remember anything, rocking slowly trying to calm down they wracked their brain for something but could not remember. "Stupid stupid, what the hell happened to me" they shout smacking their head as they started to freak out.
As they were having a meltdown the doors opened and in came Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler. "Y/N what's wrong sweetie?" Calls Olivia as they rushed over to the teenager.
Hearing voices they did not know made Y/N look up and crawl out of their bed as they stood searing pain shot through their head groaning in pain they wobbled; Olivia grabbed the teen to stop them from falling.
Instead, they struggled in her hold trying to get away from her. "Stop let go off me" they yell eventually Oliva let them go. The teen crumpled to the floor against a wall rocking back and forth hands in their hair trembling all over.
Olivia and Elliot look at each other. "What the hell happened there?" questions Elliot watching the distraught teen work they way through a panic attack. Suddenly the doors opened it was Y/Ns parents, outside the room they answered the twos questions. "Y/N is autistic which is why they reacted that way, the new room and new people triggered them into a meltdown" explained Y/Ns dad as he held his wife.
Crying the woman looked at the two detectives "what happened to our child, why where they attacked" she cried, Olivia and Elliot look at each other before telling the two.
During Y/Ns 4th period lesson they left the classroom for a breather as they got overwhelmed, as they did the teen was followed by two students. 15 minutes later the two students walk back joking and shoving each other in the hall, Y/N know where to be seen.
Lucky for them the janitor was passing by and found them unconscious and beaten up, at the end both Y/Ns parents wanted to press charges but could not without Y/N present.
Days later Y/N had woken up again in the hospital this time a lot more calm and not as anxious. The 13 year old was sat up in the bed, they had a bandage wrapped around their head their attackers got in a few good swings to their head.
The teen also had bruises on their arms, they had tried to protect themselves from the attack though being surprised, the door to Y/Ns room opened the teen turned their head, it was the detectives from before.
Sitting up they continued to look off sideways as the two detectives approached the H/C Haired teens bed. "Hi Y/N, I'm Olivia this is Elliot" she introduces them. Y/N does not look at them but nods.
Elliot looks at the teen and stands closer. "Y/N we wanted to ask some questions about the day you were attacked?" he asks the teen, sighing the teen turns their head to look at the man.
"I didn't see their faces" they whisper, the adults could tell they were lying by the way their voice cracked, the two detectives eye each other before Olivia sits next to Y/N on the bed.
"that's a lie sweetie and you know it" she tells them gently, Y/N looks up at her tears in their E/C eyes. "I know, I can't tell I won't" they cry hands shaking in their lap. Olivia holds out her hand to the teen as an invitation to hold hers.
Two both hers and Elliots surprise the teen grabbed her hand squeezing tightly as they cried.
The team are stuck at the precinct Benson, Stabler, Tutuola and Munch all stand around the evidence board in front of them, it was filled with pictures of what happened to Y/N, the footage of the two students.
"That poor child, who in their right mind would beat someone for being different" says Munch as he stares at a picture of Y/Ns injuries pissed off. "Your right partner, little shits" Fin pats the man's shoulder.
On the desk next to them stand Olivia and Elliot. "If only we could persuade Y/N to tell us their attackers" says Elliot slamming his hand down on the table, Oliva sighs and looks at the forage. "We can't push the, they are already traumatised enough" as the team stand around someone pats Elliots back.
This scares the man; he had not heard any footsteps telling him someone was there. Turning around he was shocked at who was there. "Y/N" the name made the others turn around.
Behind Elliot stood their 13 year old victim, the teen had numerous bandages around their arms and head, headphones around their neck and a small stuffed toy. "I'm here to report an assault" the relief on the faces of the detectives is seen.
Olivia stands from her chair and beckons the teen over. "Come on sweetie, I'll take you to an interview room" she takes the teen to an unused room, the teen looks around and sets their bag and stuffed toy on the table.
Munch and Fin are disgusted at how the arseholes beat up Y/N, turning to Elliot they see a pissed of look on his face. "Those bastards" growls Fin, Munch agrees "they deserve to be locked up for good" he says, Elliot follows after Y/N and Olivia.
Hours later Y/N had told the two everything that had happened to the over the past year, they had been beaten up before by the same kids but not so bad they had to go to the hospital, lucky for Y/N both attackers were charged with category 1 of grievous bodily harm with 26 month in juvie with 100 hours of community service.
Y/N was more than happy with the charges, their parent profusely thanked the SVU team for their help.
The end!
I plan to skip most of the court parts because I know nothing about how they work so sorry I only really know about the kind of charges you can get, anyway sorry for any grammar and spelling mistakes.

Familial Rift
He slapped her.
She could still hear the sound- like a whip cracking. Her face still stung, and if she touched it, she could feel heat radiating off of what she knew was his handprint on her face.
The young woman sat straight-backed on her bed, feet still firmly planted on the floor, staring blankly at the wall, refusing to cry.
Well, she was crying, since tears streamed continuously down her face, but the young Uchiha was determined to not make a sound.
There was a quiet knock on her door.
"Sweetie. Are you alright?"
The Uchiha wanted to scoff. She knew her mother meant well, but she was angry at the older woman too.
Their mother hadn't done anything when Itachi had backhanded her across the face. She'd just stood as till as the other bystanders, not moving a muscle till her daughter had calmly walked out of the hall.
Of course, the party didn't continue. At least, not for long. Sasuke had followed her shortly, walking behind her silently, happy to shadow her until she started to veer too far off. Then, her younger brother, who'd grown a whole head taller than her now and wasn't so little anymore, had taken her hand none-too-gently and led her back towards their parked car.
Upon reaching the car, they were quickly bundled in since Mikoto and Itachi were waiting for them.
"Get in. You're all going home first. As the host, your father and I will see to whatever needs to be done and return," was all Mikoto said before rushing back to the venue.
Nobody spoke on the drive back home, and it had made the young woman feel a tad bit better to see her baby brother glaring daggers at Itachi from his spot beside her in the backseat.
She shook her head to get rid of the ugly, fresh memories seered into her mind.
"Go away, mother," she responded, only raising her voice loud enough to be heard through the door.
She ignored whatever else her mother said. From what she could see from the movement under the door, the young woman knew her mother remained outside her door for a few more minutes before eventually leaving.
It felt like days later, but what couldn't have been more than an hour or so, when she was startled awake by knocking at her door. In the haze of sleep, she moved on auto pilot, crawling out of bed to open the door.
Only, the moment the door opened and she met her brother's dark gaze, all the memories of the night came rushing back. And with them, the anger, the rage, the betrayal. Gritting her teeth, she didn't let Itachi so much as get a word out before she slammed her door shut again.
Or, she tried to.
He'd been quick to react, his reflexes much sharper than hers. His foot was wedged in her doorway, refusing to allow her to shut him out again.
"Fuck off!" she yelled, voice wobbly with rising irritation and a panic she couldn't place.
"Just listen to me," he said, voice low in contrast to her high pitch.
Even as she shook her head violently, Itachi pushed his way in, shoving her back enough to breach her sanctuary before closing the door shut behind him.
The lock clicking into place had the young woman backing away slowly, eyes warily watching him close the distance between them.
He had the audacity to look hurt and confused at her reaction.
"Why are you being like this?" he said finally, his voice quiet.
No response.
She didn't even want to look at him.
"For fuck's sake," he sighed, as if he were dealing with a disobedient child. "It was an accident, alright? I didn't mean to."
The young woman didn't even deign to scoff in response. She kept her gaze fixed on the wall behind him, just past his shoulder.
"Will you say something?" he finally demanded, his tone no longer passive.
"You wanna hear something?" she finally snapped, chest heaving from the strain of keeping a lid on her emotions. She didn't want to expose herself that way to him- to let him know he could have such an effect on her. "You are nothing but a goddamn brute, and I want nothing to do with you," her voice was strained, venom dripping from her words. She knew it must hurt him- good! She wanted it to hurt.
Despite her fake bravado, she took another step back when Itachi stepped towards her, a dangerous look in his eyes.
"W-What? You're gonna hit me again? Because you're so powerful and untouchable?" she said, standing her ground despite the tremours wracking her body.
Itachi didn't say anything. She flinched when he raised a hand, her eyes clenching shut, bracing for the pain.
But it never came. Nothing happened.
Her eyes snapped open when her face was gently cradled.
She winced when a calloused thumb stroked her bruised cheek.
"It must have hurt so much," he said eventually, eyebrows twisted in concern. "Forgive me, little sister. I really got out of hand."
Pathetically, she wanted to give in right there. She wanted to let go of the rage she was holding on to, and to throw her arms around him and weep into her older brother's chest like she used to.
But she could not do that. She was no longer a little girl; and he was no longer her protector. In fact, he'd laid hands on her in front of the whole clan- humiliated her without a second thought.
Taking in a shaky breath, she shoved his hand away, giving him a look of disgust.
"That's gotta be the understatement of the fucking year. And a shitty apology to boot," her voice was flat with considerable efforts to keep her emotions in check.
He opened his mouth to respond, barely uttering a syllable of her name when she held up her hand, glaring at him coldly.
"No, Itachi! I've had enough. You... You humiliated me, abused me, in front of everyone, for that brainless whore without even bothering to talk to me," she saw his eye twitch when she addressed Izumi as such, but she couldn't care less. This was the first time she had used such vile and harsh words for her brother's fiance, whom she had always treated with respect and tried to be friendly with. Well, no more of that, she thought bitterly to herself, now that Izumi had shown her true colours. "Since you so happily humiliated me in public, I'll only accept your apology if you make just as big of a gesture in public."
She didn't see Itachi's balled fists as he shook with barely concealed rage. What she said may have very well been true, but he was not listening past the abusive language she'd used against his fiance. He may or may not love the woman, but she was to be his wife, and the future co-leader of the clan. He could not have his sister getting used to talking about her that way.
In the blink of an eye, his hand was wrapped around her slender throat, grip vicelike as he choked her into silence, the only sound being her laboured gasps as she attempted to breathe past his hold. Her hands gripped his wrist, trying to pull it off her throat, but Itachi was bigger in stature and muscle and remained quite unaffected by her attempts.
"It seems I came too soon to apologize, little sister," he leaned in, tilting his head to breathe against her ear. "In fact, perhaps even apologizing was a mistake. A whore like you shouldn't be put on a pedestal."
He took no pleasure as he saw her eyes widen in shock at his words, tears immediately springing to her pretty doe eyes. His grip tightened reflexively when she swallowed, his gaze drawn to her heaving breasts as they brushed against his forearm.
After a moment of intense eye lock, he unhanded her none too gently, her head snapping back from the motion. With herculean effort, he turned his back and walked stiffly to the door, not wanting to stay and do something irreversible.
It was a small thing that broke his last holds on his sanity.
A shoe.
Thrown at him in hurtful retaliation. Colliding solidly between his shoulder blades.
It didn't even hurt, really. But it was the principle of things.
It hurt his pride, stoking the poisonous flames.
Within a moment, he was upon her, invading her space. A loud slap rung out through her bedroom, too sudden for her to even react with a gasp. Her wide eyes stared up at him, mouth agape as his palm-print started blooming on her other cheek already.
Idly, Itachi thought the look suited her. That he should keep her marked with his handprints.
"What the-" was all she managed to get out as he forced her to kneel with a painful grip on her beautiful, dark tresses.
One hand clenched in her hair keeping her in place, Itachi quickly freed his cock, which had come to attention sometime during his visit to her room, and shoved his angry, fat cock into her mouth just as she opened it in protest.
His gaze was cold as he looked down at her choking on his cock as he held her in place, his grip in her hair not allowing her to pull off.
Her hands clawed desperately at his hips, tapping, hitting, whatever she could think of to get him to let up.
But Itachi had a lesson to teach his beloved sister.
"Mhm," he protested, almost mildly in comparison to his initial rage, and used his vicious grip to shake her head in warning. "Since you like using this dirty little mouth so much, you'd better learn to put it to good use. Whether you like it or not, you have a lesson to learn, and I have all night to teach you."
The shock from his words made her mouth go slack, only the tiniest bit, and Itachi hummed in approval, pulling out minimally before sliding his cock back in, pushing in deeper. He knew he was girthy, but right now, he was in no mood to baby his sister.
The subtle, wet sounds coming from her throat were going straight to his groin. The fact that she was clearly inexperienced didn't deter him. Her throat kept constricting, trying to evade the penetration that he had no plans on taking away; more and more spit collected in her throat and mouth, making his passage more pleasurable for him, and the sounds that much more palpable.
Itachi wasn't in any hurry. Once he knew he had her in place, Itachi rewarded her by patting her head gently, only to then use his grip to pull her up and down on his cock. He bit back a groan at the sight of her puffy lips stretched painfully wide around his sex as tears streaked down her face from the repeated breach of her oesophagus.
"I'm surprised this is the best you've got, baby sister... Are you sure you're not holding out on me?" he couldn't help but mock, groaning in pleasure at the resulting reverberations along his fat cock when she made unintelligible protests.
"Alright, alright," he huffed patronizingly, fucking into her sweet little mouth a couple more times before yanking her face against his pelvis just as he slammed in.
He could feel her throat spasm in panic, her nails digging into the meat of his calves where she gripped him in desperation. But Itachi didn't want to let go. Not yet. He liked seeing her gorgeous face pressed into his pubes, her teary, panicked eyes looking up at him in a silent plea for mercy.
And mercy he did take, his heart always having been soft for his sweet sister.
He pulled out just as suddenly as he'd invaded her mouth, his big, fat dick now glistening and dripping with her saliva.
With a satisfied hum, he yanked her up. She swayed slightly, still struggling to catch her breath, lips swollen and slick with spit.
"How pretty," Itachi hummed, using his thumb to wipe some of the drool from the corner of her mouth. "This look suits you."
While she didn't respond, this time, Itachi knew it was more because of physically being unable to rather than doing it as a sign of disrespect.
Still, he wasn't done with his sweet girl.
She was still in the pretty peach dress she'd worn to the party- the only Uchiha to opt for such light colours. She'd been so happy to get dressed for today too, only for things to go south...
His hand went behind her to pull her flush against him using the grip on her tiny waist. She collided with him with a muffled huff, and Itachi stroked small circles into her back.
"Got nothing to say?" he said softly against the top of her head, before placing a little kiss there. "We're not done here, you know."
An amused smile pulled at his lips when she stiffened in his arms.
His sweet, silly little sister. Did she really think he was done with her?
With one hand, he held the bottom of her lovely dress up and our of the way as he pushed her back, arranging her on her back on the plush mattress.
"I-Itachi please," she said, her voice only a whisper now, throat too scratchy from being fucked so thoroughky for her to manage anything else.
"Shhh. Let big brother make it up to you," he said none too gently, leaving no room for argument.
While he was glad she wasn't loud anyway, Itachi suddenly found a newfound appreciation for the location of his and her rooms being at this end of the mansion, away from Sasuke and their parent's rooms.
Uncaring of her halfhearted plea, Itachi ripped off her sheer leggings, tossing them aside, before moving on to her panties. His eyes widened when he pulled them off, eyes zoning in on the thick, creamy wetness pooling in her dark frilly panties, thin liquidy strands stretching to connect back to the pretty petals of her cunt.
"Fuck," Itachi hissed, shoving her thighs wide open to watch her cunt being spread before his eyes. "Fuck... You little whore, you really did like me using your mouth like that."
"A-Aniki don't call me that," her voice was small and muffled from behind her hands.
Itachi gave in and pressed his lips to her wet cunt, licking into it with the hunger of a man starved. Her thighs clenched around his head, her long mewl like music to his ears. But he was having none of that.
With one hand, he bunched up her dress, making sure it stayed up her waist, he shoved her thighs open with his other hand, slapping the soft flesh for good measure.
"Don't close them," he commanded, voice low from strain.
Then, he was dipping his head again, practically moaning against her velvety lips, his longue laving into her slick, warm cavern as he tasted her, trying to bury deeper and deeper. He pulled back after getting her properly wet and the slick slurping sounds filled the room.
With a heated gaze, he watched her flushed cheeks, where with one hand she muffled her needy sounds while with the other she clenched and pulled at her hair.
Fuck, he thought, the sight making his cock throb as he idly palmed her pussy. Did he ruin her enough that she needed her hair pulled now?
Almost thoughtlessly, he raised his hand, before bringing it down with a resounding wet slap against her pussy. The impact made her yelp, her hips raising from the mattress, and Itachi hummed in appreciation.
Unable to wait more, he lined up his cock against her sopping entrance before pushing the fat, angry head in. Their groans mingled as his sheer girth stretched her tight walls almost painfully despite the sopping wetness easing the way.
He smirked as her legs dropped open wider, her hips raised almost needily, and she still refused to meet his gaze.
Using a few shallow thrusts to gauge the amount of force needed, Itachi finally slammed in, groaning as his heavy balls slapped against her ass on impact. His hand gripped the flesh of her thigh painfully at the sight of her mouth falling open in a silent scream as her voice caught in her throat.
"Not feeling so bitchy now, are you, sweet sister," he huffed, hands twitching against her skin. But she probably was too far gone to hear the need in his voice.
Adjusting their position so he was kneeling between her legs, his knees propping her thigs wide open, Itachi draped himself over her, caging her body under his by placing his hands on either sides of her head.
He leaned down, resting his forehead against hers as he started thrusting, setting a hard pace from the get go, watching her face scrunch up, her lip bitten raw as she tried to muffle her mewls.
This won't do.
Ever the caring brother, he slapped her across the face, lightly, only to swoop in and capture her sweet lips the moment she released her bottom lip. He licked into her mouth, moaning at the taste, his movements getting harder as she overwhelmed his senses.
He pulled back, breaking the kiss with a wet sound, and smirked down at her blown out pupils and slack mouth.
Mine, his brain ordained, and Itachi didn't even want to fight it.
With a gentle grip, he tilted her face just so, before spitting into her mouth.
There was a flash of something in her eyes- recognition, or awareness- but she met his gaze, blinking once, before swallowing. As if that wasn't enough to drive all his blood south, his sweet little sister then opened her mouth, sticking her tongue out for more.
And fuck if he wasn't a goner.
"Fucking filthy," he muttered breathlessly, fucking into her at a harsh pace.
Who was he to say no? He spit on her face, watching the clear, sticky glob slide down her cheek before finally spitting into her waiting mouth.
His pulse picked up at her happy little moan as she swallowed his spit again before licking her lips.
Something about the whole scene awakened something primal in him, and he descended upon her, licking into her mouth hungrily, their kisses becoming sloppy. He yanked the neck of her dress down, groaning at the sight of her large, naked breasts bouncing so prettily as he ravaged her on his cock.
When he gripped both breasts in his hands, the fat flesh oozed out between his fingers, her ample breasts practically spilling out of his palms. He squished them together, watching her squirm, before slapping them till they were a pretty pink, and her nipples swollen and erect.
His thrusts almost slowed down to gentle rocking while he played with her breasts, licking and sucking at her nipples, groaning in pleasure as she arched her back at the feeling, only further squishing her lovely breasts into his face. The young Uchiha was practically putty in his hands, moaning and mewling so prettily for him, her hand cupping the back of his head to her chest, clearly not wanting him to stop.
"You should see yourself right now, little sister," he muttered into her plush skin as he bit into an engorged nipple, earning him a pained shudder.
"D-Don't stop, aniki," was her only response, her legs wrapping around his waist, effectively driving her point home.
"Then again... It's my fault you're such a spoiled little princess," he chuckled breathlessly into her skin before pulling her ass onto his lap and angling them so he fucked down into her each time he slammed in.
Her moans grew louder as he drilled into her, reaching deeper with this new angle, his fat cock pounding her silken walls and rearranging her organs with each thrust.
As he slotted his mouth over hers, swallowing her pretty screams, he planted his feet firmly, continuing to pound her relentlessly. What his princess wanted, she would get, especially after the very harsh lesson he'd given her today.
Her nails dug into his scalp where her hand was still buried in his thick locks, while her other hand clawed at his back, her legs tightening around him as he kept fucking her to completion. Itachi groaned into her mouth when her pussy started clenching around him, set on sucking him dry on each pump. He kept thrusting as her walls clenched around him and she came on his cock.
With one last thrust, he shoved in, burying himself in her walls to the hilt and emptied his thick, copious load into her fertile womb.
When he broke away from her, their mouths remained connected by strings of saliva, and she pulled him back into an open-mouthed kiss.
"Still mad at me?" he asked, a smile in his voice as he pulled out of her.
She gasped at the sudden emptiness, her pussy clenching a few times around nothing, and the sight made him want to bury back home.
"M-Maybe," she said with a pout, idly rubbing their mixed cum back into her walls as it slowly dribbled out of her.
Itachi chuckled, retrieving a bunch of tissues from her dresser to wipe her dripping cunt.
"Still want the public apology?"
"... Something like that," she said, voice getting quieter as her eyelids grew heavier.
"Alright. Consider it done," he leaned down to place a kiss at her temple. "Now go to sleep, princess."
A/N: so... there's a mention of cars... i don't normally write modern AUs but this time, it just fit into the plot. also, i see it became kinda sweet at the end... i guess i just can't imagine itachi as being completely unhinged or for his gentle side to not come out at the end when it concerns his sibs?? anyway, hope you liked it anon!

Chris Sturniolo-Panic Attack
pairing-chris sturniolo x reader
warnings-panic attack, anxiety, cursing
you didn’t even know how you ended up in this situation. you were helping the triplets set up for a group hangout that you didn’t even want to go to. and the three of them kept shoving each other around, and being loud.
normally this wouldn’t be a problem, you were used to it by now. but sometimes, it was all too loud. you felt your breathing quicken, and you attempted to balance it out.
4, 7, 8.
4 seconds in, hold for 7 seconds, breathe out for 8.
you had done the exercise thousands of times, and there were only a few times it worked. you were hoping this would be one of them.
just as you began to calm down, they started including you in their conversation. usually chris could tell when a panic attack was coming, but you guessed that this was not one of those times.
chris bumped into you jokingly, but this did not help the situation you were in.
“fuck off,” you snapped.
“ooh someone’s a little angry,” nick laughed out. you knew they didn’t mean anything by their jokes, but now was not the time.
you heard the doorbell ring, and assumed the others were here. the apartment immediately erupted with noise. someone told a joke and everyone laughed.
“y/n, are you okay?” madi asked as she came close to you. she made sure to not say it too loud as to not attract much attention, and for that you were grateful.
“fine,” you sighed.
they started playing music on a speaker and everyone began singing, who knew a group of less than 15 people could make this much noise.
your breathing quickened again, and you tried to ignore the noise but you couldn’t. you made your way to the nearest bathroom, but chris blocked your way.
“are you okay?” he asked.
“fine.”
“you don’t look okay,” he said, and you saw the look of concern on his face.
you could barely hear him ask again, as his voice blended in with the music. you felt disconnected, and you could feel the lump in your throat as you held back tears.
you tried to take a deep breath but it wasn’t working. you pushed chris out of the way, harder than you’d meant to, and ignored how he stumbled.
you went to the bathroom and closed the door, not bothering to lock it or turn the lights on. the tears began rolling down your face as you sat against the wall.
you hugged your knees to your chest, and began rocking back and forth. you could faintly hear the music and yelling in the background, so you covered your ears with the palms of your hands.
you muttered to yourself, ‘it’s okay’, over and over again. yet you couldn’t seem to believe it.
then that little voice in your head came around, ‘this is a stupid thing to have a panic attack over.’
you tried to get it to go away but it only made you cry even harder. you heard the door open and close, but didn’t bother to look up.
“hey,” you heard chris whisper.
you didn’t have it in you to respond. instead of trying to speak to you he just pulled you into his chest.
you tried to match his breathing and just listened to his heartbeat. after a few minutes you calmed down, but you knew something could trigger you in and you could go back to your previous state in a split second.
“i’m sorry,” you said. you meant to say what you were sorry for, pushing him and snapping at him, but you just couldnt.
“it’s okay,” he said, rubbing your arm.
“i can send everyone home if you want,” he said a few moments later.
“it’s okay, i think i’m just going to go to bed.” you said quietly. even in your current state you didn’t want to be a bother.
“okay.” he whispered, giving you a kiss on the cheek.
you crawled off of him and stood up. you opened the door and quietly made your way to chris’ bedroom. you knew he wouldn’t be up for awhile, but you still wanted to be in there.
you sighed and changed into one of his hoodies and a pair of his shorts. you threw your dirty clothes into the laundry basket, and picked up a few of his from off the floor.
you plopped down on his bed with a sigh, and you could still feel your heartbeat seemingly banging around in your chest.
after staring at the ceiling for a few minutes you heard the door open and close. you looked up to see chris walking in with a bunch of your favorite foods and a big smile on his face.
“i thought we could have a little movie night, just you and me.” he said, making you smile.
“you can go have fun if you want,” you whispered, messing with the strings in his hoodie.
“this is fun.” he said sitting next to you.
he handed you the remote and motioned for you to pick, after minutes of scrolling you handed it back to him.
“i’m too indecisive,” you told him. he nodded before picking your favorite movie.
he opened a bag of candy and began eating it, offering you some. you grabbed some and jokingly fed it to him.
he put his arm around you and you sighed as you put your head on his chest. he admired you, but from where you were laying you couldn’t see.
he admired your facial features, and the way your face glowed under the light of the tv. you looked up at him and smiled.
“i’m sorry i didn’t notice earlier.” he said quietly.
“it’s okay.”
“usually i can tell when you’re about to have a panic attack, but…i dunno i was being selfish. i’m sorry.”
you sighed before pushing yourself up so you were at eye level with him. you put a hand on the side of his face.
“chris, it’s okay. you shouldn’t have to take care of me.”
“but i want to. matt used to get them a lot. now he’s better at controlling it, but not being able to help him killed me. so i want to be able to help you in every way i can.”
chris’ small speech made you grateful for him. you reached up and kissed him, and felt as he smiled softly into it.
he rested his forehead against yours and kissed you on the nose, causing you to blush.
“i love you.”

71st Hunger Games - Day Four
“Fucking hell,” Nina murmured, looking at the pit under her feet from the branch she was sitting on. A tangle of snakes was nestled there, hissing, rolling over each other. So that was where those little fuckers came from.
They were mutts, she was sure of that. She had witnessed some of them attacking a tribute, two days before, and killing her on the spot. The curious thing was - they hadn’t seen her. They had come out of nowhere, and crawled for several minutes around her before darting in her direction. Probably, they were blind, like most mutts from the previous editions. They had already used snakes before, plenty of times, almost every year. The Capitol seemed to have a thing for them.
Nina gulped, observing the reptiles. She had climbed that tree to rest for a while, but when she had tried to get off it from the opposite side, that little surprise was waiting for her. She could’ve climbed back up to the higher branches and jump from the other side, but she wasn’t sure they wouldn’t hear her. Think, she told herself. There has to be a way out. A flaw in the system.
The snakes were most likely blind. That meant they either had a strong sense of hearing, or a strong sense of smell that allowed them to spot their victims. But she had made noise before seeing them, and yet she was still alive. Also, they recognised their own, cause they nestled together without attacking each other. It must’ve been the smell, then. Chances were, they were able to recognise what smell was and wasn’t familiar to them. Then an idea crossed her mind. What if she made herself familiar to them?
Nina took the useless napkin out of the backpack. It was still stained with her blood. Maybe it could turn out to be quite useful, after all. She held her shaking hand out, thinking it over. If she was wrong, it would either work as a distraction and buy her some time to run away, or give away her position and cause them to attack her. But if she didn’t try and later found one in her way, she’d be dead for sure. And she could be right. After a moment of hesitation, she dropped the napkin in the pit and climbed back up the tree, before climbing off the other side and running as fast as she could. She just hoped it would work.

72nd Hunger Games - Second Day
Lucas was dead. A surprise attack during the night, from one of the Careers. They had taken advantage of the darkness to hunt down the tributes they considered a threat, with a special attention to Heaven Lavey. But any collateral damage was welcome. That was what Lucas was, collateral damage. He wasn’t a threat, therefore not their main target. He had just found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The look on Alfie’s face when she met him that morning was all that Nina needed to know that something bad had happened. Maybe it was because of the shock of the sudden news, or maybe because Nora was still alive and needed them to be focused on, but it was as if she hadn’t fully registered that the boy was gone. There was no particular emotion if not a feeling of numbness.
The 72nd edition of the Hunger Games wasn’t just violent, it was brutal, and gruesome. Tributes were falling like flies, and it was only the second day. At that rate, it wouldn’t be long until the new victor was proclaimed. And if a few days ago Nina had thought that the girl from Seven could be the one who’d get out of the Arena alive, now she was sure. A part of her just wished it’d be over soon, at that point. All of those kids were gonna die anyway, and the quicker it happened, the less they would suffer. It was different to watch them now, with the awareness of what it truly felt like to be part of it.
Then it was Nora’s turn to go. Nina helplessly watched as she accidentally ate poisoned berries, the same ones she had mistakenly put into the “edible” section during her training. A few minutes later, the cannon went off for her. That awful noise was what made her snap out of the trance she had been in since that morning, and reality crashed down on her, ruthless and implacable.
Lucas and Nora were dead. They were both dead. They were walking the same halls she was walking now just a few days before, and now they were gone. Gone. They wouldn’t come back. They didn’t exist anymore. Her pulse quickened as the cameras focused on other tributes, and her head started spinning so much she thought she’d pass out soon. She knew that feeling too well. But breaking down in front of everyone was the last thing she wanted. Mustering up the last remains of her self-control, Nina discreetly got up from her chair and exited the room, walking without direction until she found herself in one of the various halls of the Training Centre.
Bile raised in her throat. The kids were dead. Their parents wouldn’t get to watch them grow up, their steps wouldn’t resound in the houses they grew up in anymore, their bedrooms would stay empty. She was responsible for them, and she had failed them. Unable to hold back anymore, Nina emptied the contents of her stomach in one of the plants.
When she straightened up and turned around, Tommy Shelby was standing there, a bottle of water in his hand. He wasn’t in the room when Nora died, but it didn’t take long for him to guess what had happened. He took a few steps in her direction, handing her the bottle without a word. Muttering an almost inaudible “thank you”, Nina grabbed the bottle, but her trembling hands made opening it a rather difficult task. Eventually, she managed to take a few sips. Her legs were shaking so much that she didn’t know how long she’d resist before falling to the ground, her breathing was getting more and more laboured with each second that passed, and her head was still a confusing whirl of thoughts.
Tommy watched as the girl’s eyes filled with tears, and she turned her head to hide them. As far as he had come to understand, she wasn’t one who liked to show her weaknesses, and he would’ve left her some privacy had he been certain she’d be well. From what he was seeing, leaving her on her own was not a good idea. The bottle fell from her hand, hitting the ground with a thud, and a sob escaped her lips. She was going into a state of panic, he recognised the signs all to well by now.
“Oi,” he said loudly to catch her attention, placing his hands on her shoulders. Big brown eyes set on him, wide with fear and something he couldn’t quite put his finger on. “Breathe. Breathe with me,” he lowered his voice, his hands moving to cup her face when her lost gaze told him she wasn’t actually seeing him. “You’re alright, eh. You’re alright, just breathe.”
Nina’s hands went to rest above his wrists, her fingers tightening around them as if that contact supported her somehow. She didn’t know what it was, but there was something in his hoarse voice that calmed her. That, along with the feeling of his rough hands on her skin, managed to ground her, and before she realised it her breathing slowed to a normal rate. Tommy was sure, steady, and strong enough to gain the upper hand over that frightening, violent feeling that took over her when she was at her most vulnerable.
“There you go,” he whispered, gently rubbing his thumb over her cheek before letting her go.
“I’m sorry,” she sniffled, taking a step back. If she hadn’t been too miserable to care, she’d have probably died from the embarrassment.
“Nothing to be sorry about,” he shook his head. His blue irises observed her for a while, as if to make sure she had truly recovered. He had the kind of gaze that could read right through people, and Nina found herself with no other choice but to look away, unable to bear it.
She cleared her voice, breaking the silence that had fallen between them. “Thank you,” she said, seized by the sudden urge to run away. But she didn’t want to make a fool of herself even more, so she forced herself to stay where she was.
“It gets easier,” Tommy reassured her, and even though he had hesitated before speaking, his voice held no hint of lie. He wasn’t saying that just to make her feel better. When she looked at him again, she noticed his cold expression had been breached by the shadow of an emotion.
“I hope so.”

71st Hunger Games - Night Five
The night was colder than usual, but Nina knew better than to light a fire. She sat on the roots of a tree, her back against the trunk, one of her knives clutched in her fist. The vegetation around her offered her some shelter, making her less exposed to the cold breeze.
There were nine tributes left. Time was passing slowly, an average of two kids died each day, mainly because of the traps. The remaining Careers were still working together, occupying the Cornucopia and waiting for someone in need to cross their path, and the others were too busy worrying about their own survival to hunt down the others. The situation was probably too boring for the Capitol’s taste, and she wondered how long it would take for the Gamemakers to take the matter into their own hands and stir things up again.
If she closed her eyes, Nina could pretend to be back home, laying under the orange tree that occupied most of the space of the small yard in front of her house. She had never thought of the district as a place she would miss, and yet now she longed to walk by the wheat fields, to feel the warm sun on her face, to bring her father and Pietro lunch during their break. She even missed screaming in Salvatore’s face as she helplessly watched him let himself go. She rolled the bouncy ball in her hand, observing it in the moonlight, and Vittorio came to her mind. Being closer in age, he used to be the brother she spent more time with, when he was alive. She followed him around all the time, doing what he did, saying what he said, no matter how much the thing bothered him. And even though he pushed her away at first, he’d always give in at the end, letting her stay with him. Would they still have been close, had he lived?
A scream rent the air, snapping Nina away from her thoughts, and she was on her feet in an instant, all senses alert. She put the small ball in her pocket, but kept her knife in her hand. Something heavy rhythmically landed on the ground, getting closer, but there was no way of figuring out where it came from. Whatever it was, it was getting closer, she could tell. Another scream reverberated through the forest. A chilling fear set deep into Nina’s bones, and she frantically looked in every direction to try and guess where it would have been safer to go. But the Arena seemed to have gotten even darker, and she couldn’t see much in the distance.
Then she spotted them. Giant shadows, going on a hunt. Following her instinct, she climbed on the tree, just in time to see one of them running toward her. It seemed to be a black jaguar, but two times bigger, and probably even faster. It growled, rabid, showing its sharp fangs.
The mutt jumped, opening and closing his big mouth in her direction, yellow eyes glowing in the darkness. It tried to climb the tree, but much to Nina’s relief, without result. She could’ve tried to reach the highest branches, but if were to fall, she’d end up right in its claws. However, she couldn’t stay like that forever, with the risk that it would jump high enough to catch her, or that the branch she was now sitting on would break. Or worse, that the Gamemakers would decide to play with her a bit, and destroy the tree. She had to find a way to make it go away, and quickly, so that she could hide further without it at her heels. She looked in her backpack, seeing if there was something she could throw, but none of her belongings was expendable. Actually, she did have something that wasn’t necessary for her survival. Letting out a sigh, Nina took the bouncy ball out of her pocket. Just the thought of separating from it had her heart squeezed in a painful grip, but she didn’t have much of a choice. She rolled it one last time through her fingers, as if to imprint that feeling in her hand. Then, before she could change her mind, she threw it as far as she could. The little ball bounced on the ground, shaking the vegetation. The mutt stopped, craned his neck, and soon it darted in the direction of the noise, in search for the easier prey. Nina wasted no time, she climbed on the higher and inner branches, where nothing and no one would see her.
Tumblr media
The first rays of the sun crested the horizon, hues of orange and pink melting with the dark sky. The growls had quietened, the screams had ceased, and the Arena had fallen silent, except for the chirping of the birds. It was as if nothing had ever happened. Four cannons broke that false peace, and a flock of mockingjays took off from the trees. It was over.
Soon Nina was on the ground again, wandering through the forest in search of a water source. Probably the hovercrafts hadn’t collected the fallen tributes yet. With some luck, she could snap up some weapons, or other useful stuff. The thought of exploiting the death of other kids to her advantage was gruesome, but if there was one thing she had learned from the Games, it was that when it came to survival there were no rules, no morals. It didn’t matter how much she told herself she wouldn’t let the Capitol change her, that she wouldn’t be a pawn in someone else’s game, they were all lies. She would’ve liked to be that person, but she wasn’t. At the end of the day, her only goal was to survive, no matter how.
When something caught her eye, Nina abruptly stopped in her tracks. A foot, peeking out from behind a tree. She hesitated, debating whether to get close or not. If that tribute had died because of the mutts, the sight wouldn’t be easy at all. Gathering all her willpower, she mentally prepared herself, picturing the worst thing possible in her mind to be ready for anything, then she approached the body with slow, uncertain steps. The blood froze in her veins at the sight. Nothing could’ve prepared her for that.
Oliver was laying on the ground in a pool of blood, his sternum ripped open. His empty gaze was lost in the void, but the horror was still readable in it. A strange sensation spread in Nina’s chest. Oliver was right in front of her, and yet he wasn’t there anymore. It was just his shell that remained. The handle of an axe was still tightly clutched in his hand, but was no trace of the blade. He had fought, in his last moments. With wobbling legs, she crouched down next to him. She gently brushed the curls off his forehead and closed his eyes, one last gesture of care before his body ended up God knew where, waiting to be released to his family.
After wiping away the few tears that had fallen on her face, Nina got up and moved on, without turning back again.

Wiltedflowers(Creepypasta OC)
TW: Heavy Gore, Decapitation, and Flowers..
Characters and Ages: (For clarification)
Juliet Anderson: 18 (Senior in High School)
Eleanor Anderson: 22 (Collage Student)
(Juliet’s POV)
It was a warm autumn night.. My friends and I used to come to this forest a lot. It was named Wildgrove Woods. It was a very peaceful forest. Until some rando came into the forest one night and in the morning he was found dead in a ditch. At first people thought it was a wild animal that got him but the bite marks on the man were not human and there were flowers coming out of his mouth and eye sockets. I overheard the police talking to the man's wife and apparently the flowers that were on the man’s body were his wife's favorite flowers. I thought nothing of it at first but after hearing that. It made my skin crawl. The forest was closed off and the police put warning signs but that obviously didn’t stop reckless and foolish teenagers because a week later a group of teenagers were found dead in the forest and they all had flowers growing out of them.
Some from partners and some from family members but the attacks on these teenagers were so disturbing. From what I’ve heard some were mangled, some had dislocated bones, and one of them was decapitated. Everyone was advised to stay away from the forest. My older sister Eleanor had stayed over for a week before heading back to college. I was always sad when she had to leave but my parents and I said our goodbye. Everything was fine until my mother got a call in the morning. She started crying half way through the call. When she hung up she looked heartbroken and dazed. My father tried to comfort her but she was inconsolable. My father told me to wait in the living room for him. I frowned but obeyed and went to the living room. I could hear the wailing of distress from the room that my parents were in. Minutes passed and my father finally came out and sat down next to me. My father had a look of sorrow on his face.
My father informed me that my sister was no longer with us. I was flabbergasted and confused. I asked my father what had happened. He told me that Eleanor had gotten into a car crash. Apparently a drunk driver had crashed into her but the scary part was that the police didn’t find my sister’s body. I asked my dad where my sister’s car was located. He told me that it was a few miles away from the forest. I thought about checking out the forest but my father saw right through me and turned that idea down. I was slightly upset about this but I decided not to push it. I went to my room and called my friend Jacob. I told him what happened and that I would be going to the forest. I told him not to tell anyone and that if anything happened to me. I told him to say that he tried to stop but I was too stubborn. Jacob tried to talk me out of it but I made up my mind already. I ended the call and grabbed an empty backpack and filled it with weapons and supplies.
♰˚☽˚。⋆Timeskip ♰˚☽˚。⋆
I stood at the entrance of the woods and I took a deep breath and headed inside. I was walking around the place and it was mostly quiet. It was more of an eerie quiet than a peaceful quiet. I roamed the place for a while but I didn’t find any traces of my sister. I started to think that was a waste of time but I couldn’t help but feel like I was being watched. I continued looking around until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I jumped in fright and turned around to see a policewoman. She told me her name was Officer Rebecca and asked me what I was doing here and if I knew this was a dangerous place. I told her the truth and she looked at me like I was crazy but she then had a look of sympathy. She told me that if anything popped up about my sister she let me know. I sighed sadly feeling disappointed but just as we were about to leave there was a low growling noise. Officer Rebecca and I turned around to see a tall lanky black entity that had sharp nails, flowers on its body both fresh and wilted and green goo dripping down its mouth. The flowers were scattered all over its torso, eyes and waist; it also had pointed ears and a long thick tail.
Officer Rebecca and I were staring at the entity for a good minute until it spoke in a raspy and demonic voice. “Ah, I knew there were humans in my forest..” It spoke. “What are you?” Officer Rebecca questioned the creature as she pulled out her gun. “Ah, quick to pull out your weapons? You must know that I am a threat, correct.” The entity said as it crossed its arms over its chest. “I’m am Azru..” “I roam this forest looking for prey to feast upon and once I am done with said prey I leave flowers of their loved ones as a sign.” Azru paused.. “I haven’t come up with what the sign would mean yet.. It’s a work in progress.” Officer Rebecca then glared at Azru. “So you’ve been the thing that's been killing everyone that comes into this forest.” “Yes, I have but I have a deal to offer.” Azru said as it smiled at us. I had an uneasy feeling in my stomach. “What’s your deal..?” I asked Azru cautiously. “I want you in exchange for your sister.” Azru said in a sinister tone.
“There’s no way that’s happening!” Officer Rebecca shouted at Azru. “The decision is not up to you, it is up to the child.” Azru growled at Officer Rebecca. “How do I know you're not tricking me.” I questioned Azru. “You don’t.. Sometimes life throws difficult choices sweetpea.” Azru said in a taunting voice. I scowled at them. “Alright, I’ll come with you.” I told Azru. Officer Rebecca frowned at my choice. “Kiddo, you don’t have to do that. We can’t lose another person.” Officer Rebecca tried to reason with me. “I understand your concern, Officer but this is my choice.” I said to her, “Tell my parents that I love them.” I said as I walked over to Azru. Azru smiled and pulled me close to themself. A weird pollen started coming from Azru and I felt my eyes start to close and the world went dark.
(Nobody’s POV)
Azru picked up Juliet and smiled wickedly at Officer Rebecca. “Well, I’ll keep up my end of the bargain. Azru started to gag and then something came out of his mouth. It was a corpse. Eleanor’s corpse.. Eleanor’s body was horrid to look at flowers were covering her eyes, her arms looked like they had been ripped off and flowers were growing out of where her arms would be, her hair looked disheveled, and black goo was dripping out of her eye sockets and her mouth. Officer Rebecca looked horrified at the state of Eleanor’s body. “This wasn’t part of the deal!” Officer Rebecca shouted at Azru. “I never stated what condition the girl would be in..” Azru said with a malicious tone. Azru then started running at a very fast pace. Officer Rebecca tried to keep up with him but he was too fast. “Come back here!” She shouted at Azru. Hearing her call him only made him go fast. Officer Rebecca started to get tired and couldn’t keep up with Azru.
Azru made sure that nobody was following him and made sure to cover up his tracks. Azru ran at inhumane speed until he reached his cabin. He opened the door and headed inside. He walked over to a couch and laid Juliet down on it making sure that she was comfortable. He walked over to the door and locked it making sure that Juliet couldn’t escape through the front door. He then started locking all the entrances and windows making sure she couldn’t escape from him once he made sure everything was secured and locked. He went over to Juliet and rested his head on her thighs.
(Juliet’s POV)
As I regained consciousness I woke up in a cabin? I looked and observed my surroundings; it looked like everything was locked so I had no chance of escaping. I felt a weight on my thighs. I looked down and saw Azru sleeping on my thighs. This freaked me out so much. Why was this entity sleeping on me? Why did he bring me here? Why was any of this happening? My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Azru start to stir in his sleep. I panicked as he started to wake up. My mind was racing with different scenarios of what would happen to me. “Juliet, you're awake.. I thought I’d never see you again.” Azru said in a terrified voice. Something told me that this wasn’t Azru. “Who are you? You’re not Azru..” I questioned the voice. “It’s me Eleanor!” The voice told me as it got off of me. I noticed that the flowers were replaced with different ones. Arzu had purple balloon flowers, pink snapdragon flowers, and blue irises but now the flowers were different. The flowers were my sister’s favorite flowers. Which were pink azaleas, yellow marigolds, and red carnations. “Really?” “Okay, so what’s one of our childhood memories?” I interrogated the voice. “Back when we were really little we used to make these magic potions with flowers, bark, grass and hose water. When you were in 10th grade, you told me that someone told you were related to Juliet Capulet from Shakespeare so you asked me to deal with her and you have a dragon with sunflowers tattoo just above your ass.” The voice told me. “Okay, but how do you know about the tattoo?” I asked her. “You were wearing a bikini that time we went to the beach with our friends.” Eleanor said in disbelief.
I felt my face heat up in embarrassment. “So, how are you here? I thought you were dead?” I asked with confusion. “This entity consumes souls to sustain itself but it take can’t any soul specifically. The soul needs to have the right amount of darkness and light for him to sustain himself.” Eleanor explained to me. “Okay, so I’m assuming you did some good and bad things.” I asked her. “Yeah, I might have sent that girl to the hospital.” Eleanor sheepishly admitted to me. “What the hell?! That’s why she avoided me?!” I said in shock. Eleanor nodded sheepishly. “Please don’t leave me.. I was so scared when he took me.” Eleanor pleaded to me. She sounded terrified. “I miss you, I miss mom and dad, I miss my friends, I miss my boyfriend Adam.” Eleanor said as she started to tremble while tears started to run down her face. I felt bad for Eleanor. It must suck being stuck with a dark entity and possibly having to watch him kill and eat people. “I’m sorry, I’ve just been so lonely and Azru.. He’s just very creepy and a bit weird.” Eleanor apologized to me. “No, don’t apologize.. I’m not going to leave. I can see you're very frightened by all of this.” I told her as I walked over and took one of Azru’s clawed hands and held it with mine. “I missed you as well. I’m just glad you’re kinda okay.” I smiled at Eleanor. “Thank you.. I’ll make sure Azru won’t harm you.” Eleanor promised me. I nodded at her. “Can we just sit down and talk now?” Eleanor asked me. “Of course” I smiled at her once more. Eleanor smiled back. We walked over to the couch and that’s when I realized this is a really bittersweet conclusion.

Sora x Tifa
Part 21
Part 20 below
The following week passed with nothing special on the way. Sora and Tifa woke up as usual, ate something and went for a jog. They split up at 7th Heaven doors as he made his way to slay some creatures outside the slums. The guarding guy nodded at him and opened the gate.
This time Sora stood against a new monster. It was huge, blue and yellow, crawling like a snail but with ugly face, long arms and a scorpion-like sting. Sora's face contorted with disgust but he rushed towards that something. It was much quicker than he thought. Immediately it called for its alikes, a little smaller and in darker color, now making it five enemies. The biggest one spit on him making him unable to move under a sticky discharge. The creature wasn't wasting its time and attacked Sora with its sting. Multiple hits and the injected poison almost made him lose consciousness but one of the smaller monsters hit his head with its tail which helped him stay awake. In the last possible moment Sora felt that he's able to move again and pushed himself beyond limits to run away. As he went back to the gate, the guardian wanted to help him but Sora refused. He slowly made his way straight to 7th Heaven feeling like his whole body was on fire. He felt his heart beating painfully hard but also extremely slowly, like it was going to stop any minute. “Tifa should know what to do.” Completely worn out, he entered the bar and wanted to approach his girlfriend.
- Hey, babe. - he took only three slow steps and fell to the floor.
- Hi, dar… Sora! - her smile vanished immediately.
Tifa jumped over the bar top and kneeled to check on him. He looked terrible with many puncture marks and a huge bump on his head.
- Barrett?! Come, quick!
- What's wrong?
Barrett came out of the background. He took Sora on his shoulder and carried him to the hidden basement where he laid him down. Tifa was already making a potion to stop the poisoning.
A few hours later Sora woke up, feeling beaten up and weak. He looked around and noticed Cloud taking a nap on a chair near him. He tried to sit but just groaned in pain and laid back again, which woke Cloud up.
- Tough day at the office, huh? How many of these grashtrikes were you facing?
- Five. And one was bigger than the others. - even talking was painful.
- That was the queen. They're really dangerous. Get some rest, I’ll go get Tifa.
Sora fell asleep ten seconds later.
The Keyblade wielder opened his eyes, feeling much better but still weak. He looked to the side and saw Tifa nervously sweeping the floor which already looked pretty clean.
- You’ll make a hole if you’ll keep doing that.
She turned around and looked at him with a worried face. One could say she was extremely tired but even with those black eyes Sora was stunned with her beauty.
- How long was I asleep?
- Two days and - she checked the clock on the wall. - fifteen hours.
- Talk about taking a nap, huh? - he was already tired.
Tifa sat by him on the bed and took his hand in hers to kiss it. He felt his palm getting wet, she was crying.
- Hey, don’t cry, it’s alright now.
- I was so scared. - she whispered. - I was afraid you’ll never wake up again.
- I’m not that easy to beat. - he smiled at her. - What were these creatures called?
- Grashtrikes. They spit with something sticky to slow you down and then poison you with their venom. You were lucky to get away with all those injuries.
- I’ve been too reckless, that’s all.
A few minutes later Sora asked:
- Have you been sleeping? You look terrible. I mean, you’re still stunning but you look terrible.
Tifa giggled.
- I’ve been here for the whole time since Cloud called me. It’s been two and a half days.
- Oh, come on, you cannot do that. Who will defend me in a state like this? - he smiled and tapped the bed next to him.
She laid down and cuddled with him. Sora could feel her heart racing, pushing against his body. They were asleep in a minute.

part 2 to seering
Summary: After getting comfortable, You, Marc and Layla go out shopping. Unfortunately one of your dads friends decides to ‘catch up’ with you after you wonder off from Marc and Layla.
Warnings: panic attacks, flashbacks, Marc being the biggest softie for you, threats and violence, slightly ddlg themes??
Tumblr media
A few weeks had passed since the accident and the bond you had with Layla and the boys was practically un-breakable. The only problem was that the closer you guys got, the more possessive they came. Not that it bothered you entirely but whenever you wanted to go to the store they had to go with you no matter what, if you wanted to simply collect mail, one of them needed to be by you.
Yes, you felt incredibly safe and you could never ever be more thankful that you finally found people who truly care for you, but sometimes the possessiveness reminded you of your father’s aggressiveness.
One time you left the house without permission to pick some flowers at a nearby field as you never got to do so before. Once you got home, Jake grabbed you with tears in his eyes “Dont!” he pauses and kneels down to look into your eyes “don’t leave like that, i thought you were hurt little one” he sees your teary eyes and quickly pulls you into a comforting hug, rubbing your back and pulling away to plant a kiss on your cheek.
Steven fronted a little later and told you that Jake didn’t mean to grab you, he was just so scared and it didn’t help that he had no clues as to where you were. He told you that Jake even broke down and that is not like Jake at all. They’ve never seen him shed a single tear.

Your legs were propped up on Marc’s lap as Layla persuaded you into letting her give you a facial. You hesitantly agreed with a giggle, now she was smiling down at you, every few minutes leaning down to kiss the tip of your nose.
“You’re using too much of that soapy stuff!” you squirmed and she nudged your shoulder “Stop being such a baby” she laughed and wiped away the soap from your eyelashes. You scoffed “I wouldn’t be such a baby if you didn’t like…drown me in soap” she cackled at your dramatic response while Marc shook his head with a smile. His hand rested on your knees, squeezing them often as to soothe you when he noticed you slight flinches when Layla brought her hand down a tiny bit too fast.
Layla started to trim your eyebrows using some string and lord did it really yank out your hairs.
“stop” layla tries holding you down “stop squirming woman!” she laughs and you grunt when she manages to trim more of your hair except this time she makes a dramatic gasp, causing both you and Marc to sit up. You looked at her panicked “What?! what is it” you plead and she shakes her head “i’ve cut your whole eyebrow off” she gasps again and you rush to the mirror only to scowl when your eyebrow is perfectly fine. “Marc” you whine and he tuts at Layla “Leave her alone” he says playfully as you crawl onto his lap and hug him while Layla is clutching her stomach howling with laughter.
Marc slid his hand up the back of your shirt to massage you and you nuzzle into his neck “i love you” you whisper and he groans lightly “i love you too babygirl” he pulls away and looks up at you with a sweet smile. Layla whistles lightly and you scoff “Yeah okay” you laugh and Marc looks between you and Layla, loving how you and her are so inseparable.
“Hey, how about we go shopping?” Marc suddenly suggests and you tilt your head in confusion. Your expression made Marc furrow his eyebrows so you told him you didn’t know what shopping was entirely. This made Marc sigh and lay his head on your chest “I’m sorry sweetheart.” he tells you with a sad expression but you just smile and jump off his lap.
“Can we go?”
Layla gets up and so does Marc, getting you changed into some clothes before heading to the car and driving off.
++
The three of you decided to go into a nike store, Marcs favourite place to just stare at things, tell Layla how good they’d look on him only to not buy them. Layla always laughed about it but this time he seemed to be putting alot of shirts in a basket.
You were holding his hand when he walked into the trainer’s aisle. Your eyes lit up and you let go of his hand when you ran down the aisle to a pair of white shoes.
“c-can i get them?” you turn and ask him with a smile, he was just staring at you with almost a proud look on his face but of course it wasn’t something you were used to, you assumed it was a sarcastic look. “i-i’m sorry i’ll put them ba-” you were cut off when Marc asked for assistance.
“Whats your shoe size honey?” he asks with a smile and you panic as you cant get out the words because you’re so surprised. When Marc saw you fiddling and your cheeks heating up he quickly put down his basket and walked over to you, cupping your cheeks “Hey hey, it’s okay do you know your shoe size?” he asks with his thumb stroking your cheek.
You shook your head and he nodded, assuring you it’s okay before asking if he could check. Layla found the two of you and when you gave him permission to do so, he gently took off your shoe and read the size out loud to the assistant who immediately gave a thumbs up and rushes to grab a pair of the shoes in your size.
Marc pulled you into a hug when you let out your tears. “There honey it’s okay” his hand soothingly stroking up and down your back. You felt so pathetic. You can’t even check your own shoe size because you were worried if you did, Marc would get angry at you for taking so long. You knew he wouldn’t, it was just paranoia from your father.
+++
It was 5pm when you left the last clothing store. Layla told Marc they needed to go grocery shopping and you smiled “Grocery shopping?! like..like food shopping?” you ask and Layla nods “Exactly that honey” she confirms, petting your hair and placing a kiss to your hairline. Marc was holding your hand the whole walk to the store, they didn’t bother getting back into the car because you would only be parking in a different space, the store was just a 3 minute walk from the clothing store anyway.
The store was huge, people coming in and out with shopping carts full of food and you turned to Marc and Layla with a shocked but happy face “How do they afford all this food!” you beamed and Marc huffed a laugh “You want to get a cart? we can fill it right up with all the food you want how about that?” he nudges your shoulder playfully and you look at him, jaw slack “Really?!” “Yeah really” he smirked and you wasted no time to rush to the line of carts, yanking one out and running to the front of the store, Marc and Layla jogging to catch up to you.
The first area you went to was of course, the aisle full of snacks.
Marc smiled at you while you scanned the aisle with wide eyes, seeing so much to choose from. You had this idea in your head that again, you were only allowed one thing but Marc noticed your hesitation after picking up a kinder chocolate egg. “Honey, take as much candy as you want” he shouts from the end of the aisle, his arms spread out as if to grab armfuls. You got giddy and turned back to the candy.
“Hey, we’re just gonna be in the freezer aisle, we’ll be right back sweetie” you hear Layla tell you before kissing the side of your head and walking away with Marc.
You spent 5 minutes with a finger on your lip in thought of which candy/chocolate to get. You had only still put that kinder egg in the cart. The sight of a bunch of rainbow strips bunched into a bag caught your attention, you giggled and went to grab it until a voice you recognise spoke behind you.
“Y/n? Hey!”
You dropped the bag of candy and slowly stood up straight, turning around with a nervous smile. Your hand waved out slightly while your other clutched tightly to your sweater “H-hello” you replied to him, ever so slightly moving away but the man took another step forward “How’s your dad? had any temper tantrums yet?” he laughed at his own sarcasm but you stood frozen, sudden memories of your dad losing his temper and throwing things at you.
The moment he placed a hand on your shoulder to shake you, asking whats wrong with you, one of the children dropped a vase from a different aisle and your heart immediately sunk, you pushed yourself away from the man you saw as your father in your rush of panic. You whimper and covered your ears to block out the screaming and shouting coming from your father.
“Get your fucking hands off her!” A deep voice yelled, arms shoving away the man in front of you.
“Sweetie? hey hey look at me” Layla stroked your hair out of your face and cupped your cheeks “It’s okay baby it’s okay” you were pulled into her chest, your sobs loud but your hands still instinctively reached for her shirt, gripping it tightly and burying your face into it while she rubbed your back.
“Are you him?! huh?”
“i’ll gut you in this fucking store i don’t care who-”
“Marc!” Layla yells, making him stop. Marc let go of the man and rushed over to the pair of you, kneeling down to take in the sight of you desperately clinging to Layla for some sort of relief but it wasn’t working, Marc was oblivious but Layla was not.
“She needs you” she spoke softly, Marc shook his head “no she- why would she need me? she needs you” he rambled, he was confused, but Layla gently moved you into Marc arms where you went straight back to clinging onto his shirt and burying your face into it. Marc was shaky, he didn’t know what to do because he was scared of hurting you. But when he finally wrapped his arms around you, the feeling of a man finally being gentle and caring with you, you relaxed into him, your breathing evening out.
Layla kissed Marcs forehead and stood up to gather all the different types of candy to put into the trolley. They had gotten what they needed, but as soon as they heard your distress they had dropped it all in a heartbeat to see what was wrong, so layla had to go back and collect it with the trolley.
Marc held you protectively, picking you up when he saw Layla coming back. He gave Layla a quick kiss before carrying you all the way back to the car. He laid you down in the back seats as you were falling asleep, he wasnt sure why you were falling asleep but all you knew was that you were safe, you were loved and you were cared about deeply, and that was enough reassurance to let your inner child peacefully sleep.

WARNINGS: Serial killer on the loose implied, mentions of serial killer's victim in the hospital
“Hurry up!” Max hissed to El who hesitated for a moment and glanced to the door. She could hear Billy laughing at the TV. It didn’t feel right to sneak out. “He won't even notice. We’ll be back way before he finishes the movie.” Max insisted.
El followed her through the window and they carefully crawled their way around the house. They froze as the front door opened and a bright light was thrown across the lawn. “You know if Hopper finds out I let you sneak off he’ll kick my ass.'' Billy said and motioned for them to get inside. Max frowned at him while El nodded and hurried in first. Max followed her.
“We have to figure out a way to distract him.” Max whispered. El paused as she looked at the phone.
“You know. Joyce said that Billy always gets distracted by (Y/N).” El whispered back. Max pulled a face as if she didn’t believe El.
“(Y/N)? You’re sure?” She asked and El nodded.
“She said ‘Jim. You can’t blame Billy for getting distracted when (Y/N)’s around. You know what young love is like.’ Then he said ‘Joyce I don’t want to hear about young love or any other kind when it comes to those kids.’” El mimicked their voices as she spoke which made Max giggle. Billy, who had sat back on the sofa frowned over at them.
“Come on!” Max hissed. They went into El’s room and waited until Billy was watching the Tv and El floated the phone across as far as the wire would stretch. It was only just far enough to go around the corner into El’s room.
“Hello? Is everything ok?” Joyce said as soon as she answered the phone.
“Yes. but Billy is sick and we were wondering if (Y/N) could come and babysit us.” El said slowly as she read out what Max had scribbled down on a page of one of El’s not books from her desk.
“Tell her we’re spooked out by being out in the cabin on Halloween when Billy’s sick.” Max whispered.
“We’re creeped out because it’s Halloween and Billy is sick.” El said quickly.
“Oh, honey. Yes, of course. Will’s at the Wheelers and Jonathan’s busy or I’d call him and have him come up. Something came up or I’d come and look after you all. Tell you what I’ll call (Y/N) right away.” Joyce said. El thanked her and she hung up, sending the phone back and high-fiving Max.
Half an hour later you let yourself into the Hopper cabin. “Billy?” You said in surprise. Billy looked over at you, he’d taken over Hopper’s chair, something you knew he only did if Jim was out.
“(Y/N)?” Billy said in the same tone. You both stared at each other for a moment before you said.
“Why’re you here? Joyce said you were ill and must have gone to bed.” You said quickly. You held up a back of supplies and added. “She hunted me down at a party and sent me with soup.”
“Huh. Well, that’s great because I forgot to get the prisoner's dinner. One second.” You watched Billy get up and go round the front of the house. He came back a few minutes later with Max, in her raincoat, over his shoulder and El holding his hand. They must have climbed out of El’s bedroom window.
“Put me down!” Max demanded.
“You keep running off when you know Joyce and Hopper are out looking for something attacking kids. So if I have to pick you up and keep lugging you back in here every time, be it. Now. Go see what movies are on Tv and we’ll sort you some food.” Billy dumped Max on the sofa bed that was now where he slept at night and motioned to El that he was watching her. She joined Max on the sofa without complaint.
“They keep trying to sneak out?” You asked him and he shrugged.
“That kid that’s always hanging around Harrington bust in here and tried getting them to leave with him. Almost didn’t catch them when I was in the bathroom. Hopper says this one is bad and he isn’t sure that it’s… you know. Otherworldly this time. He said not to say anything to them. In case we scare them.” Billy glanced at you and you could see he was stressed. Behind him, El and Max were peering at you both over the back of the sofa. They’d clearly heard what Billy had said and it had dawned on them that maybe running off into the night wasn’t the best idea.
"How did I get stuck with helping you babysit on Halloween?" You joked and nudged Billy who rolled his eyes and looked over at Max and El.
“You’re part of a scheme to distract me.” Billy answered and grinned. You chucked and went to get the pilot light on the oven started.
“You two help me get the table done.” You insisted. El helped set the table while Billy heated up the soup, pumpkin, left over from the Byers Halloween party the day before when everyone had carved pumpkins. Max had found a loaf of bread in the bottom of the bag and had carefully cut thick slices. Once she was done you put it in the oven to warm up a little while El found some butter in the fridge.
“We need to go food shopping.” She said as she closed the fridge door.
“Well, Joyce put in some snacks and pop so we’re good for tonight.” Max said with a smile.
“You're going to rot your teeth with all the pop you drink.” Billy muttered.
“They’re my teeth to rot!” Max said defensively. Billy laughed and held up his hands.
“Alright. Alright! Bring me your bowls.” He served out the soup and pulled the bread from the oven and dumped it on a big plate in the middle of the table. By the time you’d all eaten Max and El were ready to watch a movie. They pulled their blankets into the living room and bundled up on the floor. You and Billy managed to get the fire going and squished up together on the sofa. The girls made it halfway into the movie and fell asleep.
“At least they’re not running off.” You muttered to Billy.
“Yeah.” Billy said quietly. He fidgeted in his seat and sitting so close to him you could see how tired he was after a good meal.
“How. How long have you been babysitting?” You asked.
“Two days. Like I said. Hopper thinks it’s bad. There’s already a girl not much older in the hospital. I can’t sleep. In case something happens. It’s not a monster this time. It’s some guy. That’s what Hopper said when he called. They just can’t find him.” Billy clenched his fists and let out a long, tired sigh.
“Maybe we should go to Joyce’s. She said if they were scared to come down. She’s stocked the house up and once she’s helped Murry chase down her lead she’s planning on staying home with Will and Jonathan. Safety in numbers?” You pointed out. Billy ran his tongue over his teeth.
“I-I can keep them safe.” Billy said quickly.
“I know. But If me and Jonathan were there we could take turns sleeping plus Joyce had neighbours. Hopper doesn’t. You know.” You pointed out quickly.
“Is Jonathan even there?” he asked you. “Urm. I saw him earlier. He's gone with Nancy to make sure she’s safe. I don’t know what they were doing. He told Joyce he’d be back by midnight. So in an hour?” You said as you grabbed his arm to look at his watch.
“Ok. We’ll pack up some stuff and call the station. Then we can head down.” He said as he got up. You nodded and helped him gather some of his things into a bag and then found El’s small suitcase. You woke El and asked her to put the things she needed in there and gathered Max’s things, putting them in her bag. Billy called the station and was told that Hopper was out on a call but they’d ask him to call the Byers house. Billy picked up Max who woke up just long enough for Billy to tell her where they were going and for her to tell him she was too tired for him to be talking so loud. Everything was packed into the boot while Billy put Max in the back followed by El who stumbled a little but shuffled in. You locked up while Billy waited in the car. As you got in, El leaned forward from the backseat.
“Billy will… dad be ok?” El asked quietly. Billy took a pause before he gave her an answer.
“Yeah. he’ll be fine. There’s just. A bad guy that he can’t quite catch but he’ll get them.” Billy said and turned in his seat to look at her.
“I should be helping him.” She said even more quietly than before.
“No. No. We are going to the Byers house and we’re going to… keep Joyce safe for Hop. ok. You don’t need to be out there. You’ve got to stand where I can keep you safe.” Billy said hesitantly but firmly. You watched El’s face in the rearview mirror. She hesitated before nodding and leaning back in her seat. “We can keep Joyce safe.” El said with a little less hesitance than she’d had before. You reached over and squeezed Billy’s leg, seeing how stressed he looked.
“Can we just go? The cars cold.” Max said barely awake enough to open both eyes. She was slumped against the window with her blanket around her. El pulled her blanket over her lap as Billy started the car and turned up the heat.
“Hopper will find him and then everything will go back to normal.” You muttered to him as the car ride made the girls fall asleep. You arrived at the Byers house at the same time as Jonathan who helped you both get everything in the house. He managed to give you both an update which meant that when El woke the next morning Billy could tell her that Hopper was still ok.

the to-do list
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!Reader
Summary: Reader is worried that she’s not adventurous enough in bed. So, she makes a secret checklist of things to try with Spencer. Based on this request.
Category: Smut, 18+ ONLY, minors dni
Warnings/Includes: switch!Spencer, (sort of?) corruption kink, exhibitionism, mile high club, brief description of oral, unprotected sex, creampie, brief mentions of other stuff but no descriptions
Word Count: 3k
Tumblr media
Spencer’s girlfriend has a secret checklist. It could be called a bucket list, of some sort, but really all of the items on it pertain to sexual acts to perform with Spencer, on Spencer, or in front of Spencer. So checklist is a more appropriate term.
The list came into existence after a girl’s night game of Never Have I Ever, in which she discovered there was an embarrassing number of things she’d never done. Some of them seemed nearly impossible to have gone twenty-something years without doing, especially when in a committed relationship. That was made abundantly clear to her when the girls pointed it out, teasing her — and by association, Spencer — for being more than vanilla.
There was no real reason she hadn’t tried those certain things — she wasn’t adverse to the idea of most of them at all. Really, it was just that she never bothered to dip her toes beyond what was familiar.
When Emily, Penelope, and Tara had nearly all ten of their fingers down after a couple rounds, she finally realized she might’ve been coming up short in the sex department. She figured it was about time to find out what she’s missing, so she made a list of everything she needed to try. And one by one, she and Spencer checked the items off.
One of the more simple things on the list, and perhaps her favorite, was giving her first blowjob. It wasn’t something she felt compelled to try with any of the guys she’s been with before, and Spencer, though he was very curious about it, was too much of a gentleman to ask for one.
So when she asked him to sit on the edge of his bed and dropped to her knees in front of him, he didn’t stop to ask questions. His mind went blank the second her fingers undid his zipper. It was Spencer’s first, too, and his fingers knotted in her hair as she took him in as deep as she could, hollowing her cheeks around his cock and swirling her tongue as her head bobbed up and down. Spencer always made pretty sounds in bed, but in this instance she envied his memory because she wished she could replay his moans and gasps from that first blowjob all over again in her mind.
Another favorite was allowing the favor to be reciprocated until completion. She figured she might just be someone who couldn’t get off from oral, because though she always welcomed Spencer to go down, she got impatient every time and pulled his head up by his hair, demanding him to fuck her already. Spencer was one to oblige every request, but he couldn’t pretend that he wasn’t overjoyed when one time she never stopped him short.
There were no interruptions, no hands shoving his face away from its rightful place against her, just increasing moans and shaking legs as Spencer was encouraged to give more. She can still remember the half-moon shapes his nails left on her thighs from where he had to grip them so tightly as she rode out her high. And she definitely remembers the almost feral look in his eyes after, because since that first time he insists on doing it again nearly every day.
There were more or less a dozen other items that slowly but surely got ticked off the list.
Handcuffs in the bedroom — fun, but perhaps better saved for special occasions. Or if Spencer was being extra good and deserved a treat.
Various new positions — a reminder to stretch more. And that sixty-nine is not as easy as it sounds on paper.
She let Spencer put a blindfold on her — it was decided they both prefer it more when the blindfold is on him. It keeps him guessing.
Spanking — both of them like this one, either giving or receiving. Surprisingly, she thinks she might like receiving it a little more, and Spencer is always excited to give.
Shower sex — a bit of a logistical nightmare, yet still a weekly staple. It’s slippery, yes, but it’s also relaxing and intimate. And Spencer just enjoys putting his hands on her wet, soapy body.
Sending dirty texts — great, but Spencer prefers taking nude polaroids of her instead. He keeps a few in his wallet for easy access. And because he knows Garcia can’t hack his wallet and find them.
And there were more items that went in the same tune until there was just one left. The one she was most nervous to attempt.
She wondered if joining the mile high club was better or worse if it was on the BAU jet. They’d have ample opportunities to do it, but they’d also be surrounded by their colleagues, and there is no coming back from getting caught.
But the main challenge was convincing Spencer to do it in the first place.
The initial plan of attack was to drop some “subtle” hints. She brought it up for the first time one night in their shared hotel room, right after Spencer fucked her against the bathroom counter, her legs wrapped around his waist.
“We could totally do that in the jet bathroom.”
“Yeah, I guess the basics are the same. Cramped space and a ledge to lean on.” Spencer was completely aloof as he picked up the scattered articles of clothing from the floor, rattling off about the size and dimensions of the airplane bathroom and missing the entire point of the comment.
She mentioned it again a little later, hoping the repetition may help him catch the drift.
“What’s the craziest place you’ve had sex?” she asked, completely catching him off guard as he ate a breakfast of frosted flakes in his kitchen.
“Um.. I don’t know? You tell me,” he shrugged, knowing that whatever the craziest place was, it was definitely with her.
“What about doing it on the jet?” It couldn’t get more obvious.
“We haven’t done that, silly. OH! I’m gonna say it was in my car,” he nodded with a wide grin, confident in his answer that unfortunately brushed past the proposition far too quickly.
It was time to change methods.
The new plan was to see if she could get him turned on enough on the jet to motivate him to do something about it right then and there. It seemed easy enough.
She sat next to him on the small couch, as she always did, and cuddled up to his side as he read his book.
Once everyone was distracted, she snaked a hand onto his thigh, allowing it to rest there long enough for Spencer to get over his initial shock and relax into her touch. As soon as he let his guard down, she moved her hand up another inch or two, watching him squirm again as he fought his mind from wandering. She repeated that cycle every five minutes until it drove him insane, his willpower diminishing in tandem with the proximity of her hand.
When everyone finally fell asleep, she craned her head to press small kisses on his neck, alternating between quick pecks and lingering ones, sucking warm and wet little flecks onto his skin that drew soft sighs without fail.
“What are you doing?” his breath was raspy and low as he muttered into her ear.
“Nothing.” She kept her tone innocent and sweet as she continued to sprinkle the teasing kisses across the column of his throat.
Her hand finally found its way directly on top of the bulge straining against his slacks and gave it a gentle squeeze. Spencer grinded himself into her palm, desperate to feel some friction, his jaw slacked and pupils wide. She dragged a thumb across his length, stopping to rub slow circles over the sensitive tip, drawing out a wet spot at the front of his trousers.
But even with his skin flushed red and his cock leaking and half-near orgasm, Spencer still found the restraint to stop her from jerking him off right on the jet and ripped her hand away, placing it in her lap as if the action could permanently force her to keep her hands to herself.
“I can’t go to the crime scene with cum in my pants,” he hissed, squeezing her wrist tighter.
She smirked at the opportunity, wrapping her warm lips around his ear lobe and tugging with her teeth before whispering with hot breath. “Then put it in me.”
For a second she saw him consider it. His eyes had a dark cast, gaze flickering between her eyes and lips as he swallowed the thick lump in his throat. But then Emily woke up and it was yet another failed attempt.
She resigned to the fact that it just wouldn’t happen, and that the item might remain unchecked on the secret list. So she cleared the idea from her mind, not wanting to keep pushing Spencer toward something he clearly didn’t have an interest in, or to keep embarrassing herself by trying.
And then a couple weeks later, as the team wrapped another case up, she came back to their hotel room to find Spencer sitting on the bed, facing away from the door.
“Hey, baby,” she greeted. When Spencer didn’t respond, she crawled onto the bed behind him, placing both hands on his shoulders and attacking the side of his face with kisses, giggling into his messy curls. “I said hey.”
Still nothing. Her eyes followed his line of sight down to his hands and went wide with realization.
“Spencer, where did you get that!?” She tried to snatch the crumpled piece of paper from him, but he was too quick to pull it away.
“I was looking for gum in your purse,” he explained, reading the sheet over again in complete amusement, “but I found something better.”
Spencer was much too excited about it, bordering on smug, and she rolled off the bed away from him in annoyance.
“Is this what I think it is?” She remained silent, suddenly feeling very insecure about the note. “Did you... did you make a list of things to do in bed?”
“You weren’t supposed to see that, it’s so stupid.”
“Hey, who said it’s stupid?” He tugged on her fingers, pulling her back onto the bed next to him. “I just wanna know where it came from.”
“Well... when I went out with the girls, we started talking about all the things we’ve done…” she paused to see if Spencer could guess where this was going, and of course he didn’t, “... in bed. And I hadn’t even done half of what they have, so I wrote some of them down. I — I wanted to try them with you.”
“So you… you’ve never done these with anyone else?” Spencer’s eyes widened as he pieced the puzzle together. He looked down again at the discarded sheet laying on pillows, his pride swelling at how long the list was. “I’m the first?”
She nodded in assent and no sooner was Spencer pushing her back flat against the mattress, settling his body on top of hers.
“God, that’s so hot,” he spoke into her neck as he sucked purple bruises into it, allowing his hands to roam freely under her shirt. His nimble fingers made quick work of her bra clasp, pulling the hem of the top up to attach his lips to her exposed nipple. He rolled the other in his fingers, tugging gently as she arched into his touch, rolling her hips up to grind against his. He groaned and pushed back, nestling himself perfectly between her legs.
Suddenly his motions halted and he popped his head up, looking at her with wide eyes and freshly ruffled hair. “We haven’t finished the list yet!”
“I — I didn’t think you were interested in the last one.”
“If my girlfriend makes a list of ways she wants to fuck me, I’m interested.”
A devilish grin took over her face. “Well, we fly home tomorrow.”
And true to the plan, they arrived on the jet the next day with at least a vague sense of strategy: wait until everyone is asleep then go at it in the bathroom. It wasn’t the most elaborate of plans, but there wasn’t much else to think of.
Except for the possibility that the others might not go to sleep.
The flight was already halfway through its journey and everyone was still wide awake, and Spencer was growing incredibly impatient. Perhaps even more than his girlfriend, now that he knew this would be part of a long list of things he got to be her first for.
That fact seemed to encourage him, the thrill of forever being her first at something. Never mind that she’d be his firsts, too.
Spencer’s not stupid, he knows that bending her over the bathroom counter while everyone is awake to hear it is a horrible idea. But his willpower doesn’t extend far enough to stop him from dropping his hand to her exposed knee, rubbing it softly just to be able to touch her. It seemed innocent enough in case anyone might see.
He kept his eyes on the open book he was pretending to read as his fingers traced the inside of her thigh, pushing up the hem of her skirt ever so slightly.
He inched his hand up and slowly spread his long fingers apart until they covered the length of her inner thigh. The tips stopping just below her cunt, delicately tracing lines back and forth parallel to the seam of her underwear.
And she quickly discovers there’s no taste worse than your own medicine. There was gentle brushes and concealed touches, all the things that she did to him. But where Spencer would’ve stopped her teasing before it got too far, she wouldn’t have done the same.
She covered up his hands by bringing her own down to her lap, silently encouraging him to continue unseen.
Spencer looked down at her through his thick lashes, bottom lip stuck between his teeth. Looking for more confirmation that she wanted this. The answer came in the form of her shifting subtly down the seat, pressing her clothed pussy firmly against his hand.
His cock twitched against the confines of his slacks when he felt the damp patch on the fabric. His knuckles brushed against her clit and her knees clamped shut, holding him in place as she brought her lips close to his ear to let him hear her soft whines.
He has to put his book over his lap to cover how hard he is, and it almost makes him regret starting this game. Almost.
Because just as she starts desperately grinding against his hand, squirming for more friction, he notices that everyone’s asleep. And then it’s a race to the bathroom, Spencer positioning her directly in front of him to cover his bulge as they stand up.
Their mouths are on each other before the door even closes, her hands wasting little time in going for his zipper. Both desperate to have each other after all the anticipation. She immediately perched herself on the countertop, spreading her legs wide so Spencer could fit in between them, just like in that hotel room. A confused whine fell from her mouth when he lifted her off from the ledge, interrupting her plan.
“No. Like this,” he growled, turning her around and pushing her hips against the edge of the counter, bending her over it. She muttered a “Fuck,” under her breath as he pressed his cock against her backside, knowing he preferred this angle because he could get deeper.
His lips trailed down her neck as he tugged the skirt up to her hips and pulled her panties to the side, running his cock along her folds to gather the wetness that had been pooling there.
“Shit, you’re so fucking wet.”
He quickly inserted his thumb into her mouth to stop any sounds from escaping before lining himself up. Her moans vibrated against the digit as he slowly pushed in, stretching her out and letting her adjust before starting to move. Slowly and deliberately, at first, then quickly gaining speed.
She pushed her hips back to meet his thrusts until he pinned them against the ledge with his own, holding them still so he could set his pace faster.
The hand that was resting on her waist came up to her chest, groping at the flesh over her blouse. Her spine arched into his palm, bending forward to give him more leverage to get deeper to that spot inside her repeatedly.
He alternated between a few quick thrusts followed by a deep one, holding himself there for a moment before repeating.
Her cunt tightened around him as he held still against her, applying firm pressure to her spot with the head of his cock.
“Fuck, do that again, please,” he grunted against her neck, pushing his hips into her ass with bruising force to get impossibly closer. A loud whine nearly escaped her lips as he did so, the motion sending her over the edge.
She sucked harder around his thumb, using it to keep her cries at bay as she reached her climax. Her walls fluttered around him as she did, giving him exactly what he needed.
“Remember what you said before, baby?” he hummed in her ear, “Do you still want me to cum inside you?”
“Please.”
Immediately his thrusts became erratic, hips snapping forward a handful of times before he spilled into her in hot spurts, biting down on her shoulder to stifle his moan as he came.
Still heaving from the comedown, he pulled her panties back on, using the fabric to keep his cum from spilling out.
She turned to feverishly attach her lips to his, panting into the open mouthed kiss. When they finally broke apart, both looked completely wrecked with swollen lips, flushed skin, bruised necks. Still, they tried their best to fix themselves, straightening out their rustled clothes and smoothing knotted hair.
Before Spencer turned the door handle, he pulled her side into him, pressing a kiss onto her forehead. “We should make another list.”

Thank you for taking my request!! I loved it and if you’re willing to do another one for Kaz, could you write Kaz headcanons about his crush aka reader getting injured on a heist because of an accidentally mishap by Jesper? Thank you either way!!
Oops?, Kaz Brekker
Injured s/o might be my favorite trope. Got a bit carried away while writing. Sorry in advance.
Headcanons, genderneutral s/o
Tw: Angst, descriptions of a fight, being smashed into a wall, blood, injuries, stabwound, concussion….basically the whole shebang. Shooting, killing, breaking someone’s bones, Jesper did an oops, passing out, worried Kaz (that’s new), throwing up, Kaz touches hands with reader. That seems like enough, don’t you think?
Tumblr media
- This job wouldn’t even be that difficult or complicated. All you had to do, was to steal a key for a heist that would occur at the same evening. It was a small pickpocket job. One that Kaz could’ve easily done if he hadn’t been busy helping Wylan get hold to a bunch of bombs.
- So there you stood, with Jesper, in the middle of a busy street. The people were swarming around you, but it would only make the job of stealing easier. Jesper’s job had been to distract the victim as you slid past him, grabbing the key from his pocket. Jesper had even gotten lined from Kaz to ensure that he wouldn’t screw up.
- “There he is.” Jesper had announced, pointing towards a man with an awfully obvious mustache, walking towards the pair of you. You quickly separated from Jesper before the target would see you. Just then, you fellow crow put on his disguise as a lost boy.
- “Excuse me,” he had started, walking up to the confused man. “but do you happen to know where the docks are? I fear I’ve gotten myself lost a bit.”
- You rolled your eyes at Jesper’s attempt of appearing lost. If you had not known him, you would’ve perhaps believed him, but right now, it was just stupid to look at.
- You found yourself placed on the other side of the street, behind the man. Without attracting too much attention to yourself, you walked along with the crowd, now approaching his back. With a quick hand, you fished something out of his pockets, walking away just as quick as you had approached. Your steps not wavering.
- But just then, a second voice was heard; “That does not belong to you, girl.”
- You did not stop your pace, only speeding up a bit, but not too much, just in case the speech had not been directed towards you.
- But it had been.
- You see….Jesper had been talking to the wrong person. It was another man with a big mustache, but not the one he should’ve been looking for. You however, had found the right man, but now, there was no distraction.
- Suddenly, you got grabbed by your arm, being dragged into a side-alley. Quickly, you feigned a confused expression, turning towards the man, pretending to speak another language.
- “It doesn’t matter what language you speak; you have something that belongs to me.” At those words, he held up the key you were looking for.
- “This is what you wanted, wasn’t it?” Looking down towards your hand, you found a blunt piece of metal, the same weight and size as a key, but not so much the shape of one. It had been a decoy.
- “Who sent you, girl?” He question, taking a threatening step towards you. You didn’t move one step. Instead, you fiddled with the metal, trying to find a sharp piece to attack him with, but when you found none, disappointment struck you.
- “I asked you a question, dear.” With that, you dropped the metal, punching the man in his face. It worked, but only for a minute. He wavered but came to his senses as quickly as it went.
- From behind you, someone pinned your arms, throwing you towards the nearest wall. The man had been expecting this and had even gotten back-up. And Jesper was still talking to a random civilian, probably wondering why you haven’t shown up yet.
- The impact with the wall caused the air to leave your lungs, the back of your head hitting the concrete. A loud ringing had filled your ears, leaving you incapable of hearing anything else at the moment. But you were smart. Rolling away quickly, you pulled the man down to the floor.
- Climbing over him, you grabbed one of the knives Inej had so kindly gifted you once. Without hesitation, you plunged it into his neck, ensuring he wouldn’t attack you anymore.
- You hadn’t been given time to get back up. A sharp pain suddenly filled your side, the feeling as if a cut brick had been thrown against it.
- “You’re not the only one with knives on you.” The target growled, now kneeling down to come face to face with you. Your vision became blurry. Whether that was because of your earlier impact with the wall or the blood seeping out from your body, you didn’t know.
- “I don’t need knives.” You managed to get out, grabbing the man’s hand that held onto the dagger, pushing his pinky back, effectively breaking it.
- While he fell back in pain, you crawled away from the scene, trying to stay hidden. With your current state, defense was something that would only slow more over time. From corner of your eye, you saw the target getting back up, but he fell down the moment both feet touched the ground, a loud bang following his fall.
- “Saints, Kaz is never going to live this one down.” A familiar voice mumbled, quickly nearing you. “You stay awake or we’ll both be in big trouble, okay?”
- No answer came out of you. The spinning in your head made you nauseous beyond belief. You had already started to lean down, feeling the vomit coming up. The last thing you remembered were Jesper’s hands holding your hair back while you threw the nausea out.
- You had woken up in your own room a few hours later. Your waist had been covered in bandages while semi-wet towel rested beside your head, which had probably fallen off during your sleep. Nina’s perfume hung in the air, letting you knew she had been here not too long ago.
- As your eyes tried focusing on the room, a sting hit your side, causing you to turn over and grunt in annoyance.
- “Don’t move. We just changed the bandages.”
- The voice made you freeze, halting your movements to your side, instead laying back down. You had expected Nina or Inej to be here, maybe even Jesper, but not Kaz.
- “And don’t think too much or try to talk. You’ve suffered a heavy concussion.” If your eyes could’ve allowed you to roll them, you would have. But it hurt like hell at the moment, so you deemed it wise to not use them too much.
- “Would you rather I fall back asleep?” You mumbled teasingly, yet the sound of sleep did come off as appealing. Passing out was not like sleeping at all. You felt exhausted, but you could not pass an opportunity to annoy Kaz.
- “That would be wise, yes.” Was his simple response. You slowly turned your head towards his voice, scanning your surroundings at his side of the room.
- “Tough luck, Brekker.” He did not respond to that comment. You took it as a sign to continue; “Did Jesper get the key?”
- “Along with three weeks of cleaning duty, yes.”
- When silence overtook the room once again, he slowly reached for your hand, placing his on top of yours before linking your thumbs together. The entire action left you frozen, scared to move even the slightest bit.
- “Go to sleep. You need to recover. We’ll talk tomorrow.” Was all he said, before slumping back in his seat on the chair beside you, his hand not once straying for yours.
- The need to annoy him had now completely subsided and had instead been replaced with the annoying feeling of bubbles in your stomach. That tickling feeling that was nowhere near funny, but could only make you stop your train of thought.
- Perhaps it was best for you to close your eyes. You mission had succeeded and judging on Kaz’ comments, so had the heist at the same evening. You were too tired to ask how long you were out and whether the heist succeeded or not. You started to obey Kaz’s command, closing your eyes, focusing on the feeling of Kaz’s hand on yours, no gloves or piece of fabric separating you. It was just you and him. And for now, that was enough.

hello! do you think you could do a chapter with fem!reader whose afraid of thunderstorms and wakes up in the middle of the night because of it but doesn’t wanna wake alcina so she just stays awake but the storm goes on for like a week and this keeps happening until she notices and comforts you through it by like cuddles or talking you to sleep to distract you from it :)
Oh my god I hate the way this came out. My brain just could not process this for some reason. I also couldn't make it as long as a week, my apologies.
**************
One dark evening at Castle Dimitrescu a storm rolled in. Relatively speaking, it was quite harmless and most of the inhabitants of the castle were unbothered by the storm.
Except you.
Late into the evening, whilst most were asleep, the storm was at its strongest - the crackle of thunder rolling through the halls as flashes of lightning illuminated the darkest corners of the room. You were trying to sleep, honest, but just as you felt the drowsiness of rest come to take you - a loud crack of thunder would jolt you awake and paralyze you with fear.
You sat with your back against the headboard, your breathing rapid.
You pulled the covers up to your chest and hugged your pillow close to your chest. Resisting the urge to run and hide in the closet like you used to do as a kid was becoming more and more difficult.
Another flash, another boom.
You knew it wasn’t logical, but you couldn’t stop yourself from flinching or jumping as the sounds of the storm roared outside. It was just so loud and you could swear the castle was shaking with it.
You squeezed your eyes shut, white-knuckling the pillow held tight against your chest and humming a song to yourself in order to distract your brain.
The sound of constant rain was suddenly accompanied by heavy hail falling, and that’s when the thoughts started charging at you full force.
What if the lightning strikes the castle? What if the castle collapsed? Did it have the right infrastructure? What if-
“Stop it, God. Stop it!” You begged your brain but to no avail. Your mind kept generously providing you with possibilities and images you did not ask for.
Another loud boom and this time you couldn’t help the cry let out before clapping a hand over your mouth and diving under the blankets.
When you didn’t hear anything for a few minutes you felt it safe enough to come out of hiding. Thankfully the vampire slumbering next to you wasn’t disturbed by your pathetic cries and whimpers. She had a rough day dealing with a very pissed off Mother Miranda and needed rest and relaxation as much as she could possibly get.
You forced yourself to lay still on your back and focus all your energy on controlling your breathing. That was the key to saving yourself a panic attack. You don’t know how long you were staring up at the ceiling, but dawn eventually came and your partner stirred from her sleep.
She would have been happy to see you if not for the redness in your eyes and puffiness surrounding them, obvious signs of lack of sleep.
“Are you alright, draga mea?” She wrapped her arms around your midsection and rested her head on your shoulder, kissing your cheek.
You didn’t answer, even though you knew Alcina wouldn’t just drop the question. She was sweet and caring like that, which is probably why you never had the heart to tell her how much of a coward you actually are.
“You didn’t sleep very well, did you?”
“Nightmares,” you rasped, trying to focus on Alcina more than the low rumbling outside. “I’ll be fine after a cup of coffee.”
She looked as though she didn’t accept that answer but quickly hid any doubts behind a warm smile. “If you’re sure.”
It felt wrong lying to her. You had never felt the need to hide anything from Alcina before, but this was just embarrassing. She’d probably laugh at you told her you were still afraid of thunderstorms.
The day progressed with relative normalcy despite the occasional sounds of rumbling. Alcina busied herself dealing with the mountain of paperwork on her desk for Mother Miranda and the girls were running amuck in the basement. Depending on which room you were in you could hear their laughter below you. Their mischief down there has always been a mystery to you, even now after living in the castle a couple of years. You knew what they were doing, but couldn't fathom the idea of enjoying it so much. You did find it rather disturbing that their torturing frightened you less than a stupid thunderstorm.
You huddled in the back section of the library behind the bookshelves so you couldn’t see the lightning out the windows. The loud rumbling still had you on edge, but a good book is always a welcome distraction. It worked so well, that you didn't hear Daniela approaching. You practically jumped three feet in the air when she was stood in front of you.
“What’s wrong with you?” Daniela asked, her voice was stern, but it also had a concerning tone to it. She had dropped her bag, keeping the knife at her side. Your breathing was heavier than usual as you tried to think of what to say. It was more than embarrassing to tell Daniela the truth. You knew for a fact she out of everyone in the castle would laugh at you. "You scared me,"
She rolled her eyes. "No, Dummy, I mean what's really wrong?"
You shrug and turn the page of your book. “Nothing.”
Another boom. You couldn’t fight off flinched.
“Oh, I think I get it. You’re afraid of-”
“Don’t tell anyone.” You clenched your fists, shutting your eyes tightly. Daniela wanted to laugh, but she didn’t. You watched as she cautiously sat back down. The redhead sat in front of you, the rain somehow sounding even louder than it had before. You looked over at Daniela, feeling the embarrassment creep upon you.
Daniela started at you with a rather confused expression, resting her arms on her knees. “Out of everything we’ve been through,” she began, “everything you’ve seen us do. Everything that goes on in this castle just below your feet,” she paused. “And you’re scared of thunder?”
You sat silently and twiddled your thumbs.
“Why?”
“Doesn’t matter,” you whisper. “It’s not important. You’re only going to run off and tell everyone.”
Daniela rolled her eyes and picked up her bag, headed once again for the basement. “Whatever, y/n, have it your way.”
You spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening shuffling around the library hiding from the white flashes. It was only when Daniela came to fetch you for dinner that you left. Luckily you were eating in the kitchen instead of the larger Dining Hall. The kitchen is much more manageable; marginally fewer windows to see the lightning. The meal carried on as it normally would; the girls boasted about their successes in the basement, Alcina discusses all the work she got done today and complains about the work she put off for tomorrow. It was almost enough to take your mind off the chaos happening just outside the windows. Almost.
The storm carried on just as confidently throughout the evening and into the night. It showed no signs of relenting, which in turn meant another sleepless night.
You wasted no time stripping your clothes and crawling into bed, back to the open windows. Alcina didn’t think much of it, simply chalking it up to being exhausted from the previous night’s lack of sleep. She wasn’t completely wrong, you did feel like you were ready to sleep for the next 24 hours. But you knew the storm wouldn’t allow you that luxury.
Pressure against your back and an arm wrapping around your midsection snapped you out of your thoughts.
“I hope you sleep tonight, my love.”
“Me too.”
An hour later and you were still wide awake listening to the rain being pelted against the windows. An anxious voice whispered impossible scenarios of the rain breaking through the windows and lightning striking you down in the safety of your bed. You tried your hardest to not toss and turn as to not disturb the woman next to you. She's not asleep yet, you can tell by the lack of snoring, but her breathing is starting to even out. You were curled up on your side, back to Alcina. She wrapped you in her arms, her chest against your back and arm across your waist. "Dove..." she whispered in your ear. "Y/n... "
"I'm sleeping, Al." You murmured snuggling further into the vampire’s arms, your eyes still closed.
"No, you're not." She stroked your side absently. “Are you sure you’re ok? You aren’t falling ill are you?”
You sigh. “No, I’m not getting sick. My body is just too exhausted to relax.”
Alcina hummed, burrowing her face in the crook of your neck. “I’ll stay up with you for a while.”
“You will not. Go to sleep Al, I’ll be fine. You had a long day yourself, one of us should be able to sleep."
"Why don't we go sit in the Drawing Room or the Library? I'll hold you in my lap and read to you." God no. Way too many windows. "Goodnight, Alcina." You feel her sigh against your skin, pushing a few stray hairs around. "Can I do anything?" "Stop worrying, it's just insomnia." "I'll stay up with you then. You shouldn't be up all by yourself staring at the ceiling." "I'm not alone, Love, you're right here with me. Asleep or not I'm still in your arms, and that helps a lot." You feel her smile against your neck and pull you closer against her front. "wake me if you need anything."
You actually slept fairly well; only waking up a few times to have Alcina soothe you back to sleep. Being tucked away in her embrace did a world of help, but you still woke up hours before Alcina did. Her eyes fluttered open and focus on your groggy face. She frowns.
"Did you sleep at all?"
You smile and kiss her lips. "Yes, I actually slept a lot better last night than before."
"Good," she pulls you back to kiss you again.
*******************************************************************************************
Later in the afternoon Bela and Cassandra invited (dragged you really) into the Drawing Room to play a game of cards.
Everything was going really well. You were laughing and playing with the girls like everything was as it should be in Castle Dimitrescu.
You were made astutely aware of the situation outside again when a loud crack of thunder shook the castle. There was another flash and clap of thunder, this time loud enough to make Cassandra flinch.
You abruptly shot up from the table. “Sorry. I need a minute.” You rushed down the hall into one of the guest rooms. Cassandra and Bela shared a confused glance and watched as you hurried away. They’d never seen you so flighty and nervous before. Neither could tell what was wrong.
They laid on the carpet and silently counted to sixty before following you to down the corridor.
“Y/n?” Bela softly knocked on the door. “It’s been a minute.”
There was no response. More thunder. Bela frowned. “We’re coming in, okay?”
She opened the door a crack and poked her head inside. You were nowhere to be seen. “Y/n?” Cassandra called, stepping further inside and glancing around the room. The sisters checked under the bed, then under the covers, even under the shade of the bedside lamp. Then Bela peered out of the rain-soaked window for good measure. Where else could you be?
Just as Cassandra decided she was stumped, she heard a rustling from behind her and a muffled, “I’m in here.” She turned around in confusion because the only place they hadn’t checked in that direction was…
They crept over to the closet and carefully slid open the door. The girls smiled when they found you sitting on the ground, curled up with your head between your knees. “Playing hide and seek now, are we?” Bela said. “Next round I call being the— um, y/n?”
“I’m fine,” you mumbled, staying right where you were. “Sorry.”
“S-Sorry for what…?” Cassandra crouched down beside you. The closet almost had enough space for the three of you to fit.
“Y/n, please. Something’s obviously bothering you, can’t you tell us?”
All three of you startled as another flash of lightning cut into the room, followed by another growl of thunder. You tightened your grip around your legs. Bela’s jaw dropped.
“It’s the storm,” she said, half a question, half a statement. “You’re scared of thunder?”
“It’s childish.”
“Oh, y/n…”
“I’m weak. Something as dumb and simple as loud noises shouldn’t make me so—”
“Y/n. Look at me.” Cassandra’s gently stern tone convinced you to move your head so your chin rested on your knees. You side-eyed the girls, trying to imitate your usual stoicism. It was difficult with red-rimmed eyes.
“A phobia doesn’t make you childish, or weak— do you know how many people have a fear of thunder, y/n? A lot of humans.”
“A lot of Uncle Heisenberg’s lycans as well,” Bela chimed in.
“And are you going to go around insulting them? No, Y/n, because that’s not nice. So don’t insult yourself for the same thing.” Cassandra waved around her index finger as she spoke. Your eyes widened and followed the movement. Both girls laughed.
“Is that what’s been giving you nightmares?”
You shake your head. “I just haven’t been sleeping; too tense.”
Cassandra giggled. “Just ask mother for extra cuddles, not like she’ll say no.”
“Or a more intimate distraction,” Bela winked.
Both sisters giggle at the blush creeping on your cheeks.
“Can we sit here with you?” Bela asked, already taking the vacant spot on your right.
You shrugged— as much as you could in this balled-up position. “You don’t have to.”
“It’s ok y/n, we don’t mind.”
They sat on either side of you, Bela holding your hand, enjoying the comfortable silence that cast over you.
*******************************************************************************************
A loud crack of thunder jolted Alcina awake. Cursing to herself she eyed the clock across the room–2:06 am. Raking a hand down her face, she jolted again when another crack of thunder echoed through the castle. It wasn’t a minute later that an insistent downpour of rain started pelting the roof and windows followed by an angry howling of the wind. You stirred next to her in the bed. You were mumbling in what sounded like a mix of Romanian and English. Alcina swallowed thickly because she knew what that meant; another night terror. She laid back down and curled herself against you, cocooning herself against your back. Alcina placed a few stray kisses on your shoulders and the nape of your neck, smoothing her hands along your hipbone in the process. You calmed after a few minutes, your mumbling returning to the steadying breaths of deep sleep. Alcina sighed in relief and closed her eyes in hopes that she could drift back to sleep.
KRAK-OOOOOM!
Alcina sat up on the bed and saw you still appeared to be sleeping, though you looked somewhat agitated. She reached over and attempted to run her fingers through your hair but all that succeeded in doing was causing you to jolt awake.
You woke up with a strangled yell and starting crawling out from underneath the sheets. You sat with your back against the headboard, your breathing and heart rate rapid. Alcina crawled over and realized you were having a panic attack. “Y/n, can you hear me?” You nodded, your eyes squeezed shut as tears started leaking from the corners. You clamped a hand over your mouth, and Alcina realized you were trying to silence your breathing. “Honey no, don’t do that, just focus on me,” she pulled your hand away from your mouth slowly. You shook your head and tried to take your hand back. “No no no... I can’t- I-I-I can’t wake Al-Alcina,” you gasped. “It’s alright, Dove, just follow my breathing.” Alcina took exaggerated breaths to demonstrate. You started calming down slightly. “That’s it, everything is alright, just keep breathing.” You seemed to calm down more with the breathing exercises. “I’m going to get you a glass of water“ Alcina started to say, but was cut off by you grabbing her arm. “No! Don’t-don’t lea- don’t leave, please, don’t- don’t” you closed her eyes, her breath quickening again. “Sweetheart, breathe with me. In, out. In, out.” Alcina took your hand and put it on her chest. “Breathe with me. In, out. In, out.” Your breathing returned to normal. After sitting in silence for a bit, Alcina turned to her.
“Another night terror?” She asked. You looked away for a minute, ashamed of yourself.
“No.”
God, you probably woke her up, good job.
Alcina couldn’t keep an amused smile from forming. “Can my little dove not sleep because of the thunderstorm?”
As if on cue, a blinding bolt of lightning crackled down from the sky. The following rumble of thunder seemed to shake the castle. You let out a whimper and shielded yourself from the sky. “How could I possibly sleep when it sounds like the sky is falling?!”
Alcina hums and pulls you close against her. “There’s nothing wrong with a healthy fear, Dove. It brings out the human in you.”
“UGH! Just-!”
KRAK-OOOOOM!
Another shriek, barely muffled by Alcina’s shoulder, had you violently trembling. You were barely holding yourself together.
Wracked with terror, eyes shut tightly, you found yourself unable to prevent the reflexive compulsion to cling to something nearby.
Which, in this case, was Alcina, who was left staring in shocked silence at the violently trembling form with arms wrapped tightly around her midsection. She immediately wrapped her arms around you again and began rubbing soothing circles on your back.
“Calm down. You’re fine,” She spoke softly, ignoring the buzz under her skin as she soaked in the unwitting embrace like a dry sponge in water. Soothingly, she rubbed up to your shoulder blades. “There we are, my love,” Alcina chuckled. “I’ve got you. Listen to my voice,” She rumbled, speaking soft but firm as the thunder forced smaller tremors through the floor. “You’re going to relax. I’m going to help you. Just lay here with me and close your eyes. I’ll hold you all night if you want me to.”
Gradually, the sound faded and petered off back into the loud patter of rain against the windows but Alcina held you tightly still. She could feel the flutter of your heartbeat against her own, almost impressed that you hadn’t passed out from fear alone.
“Why didn’t you say anything? The storm’s been going on for days now you must have been petrified.”
“I didn’t want you to know,” you mumbled into her neck. “It’s a pathetic fear I’ve had since I was a kid. I don’t want you to think less of me.”
“You think something as trivial as a phobia would make me think less of you?” She pulled you even tighter against her. You melted into her embrace. “Clearly I haven’t been a very good partner to you.”
“No Al, it’s not like that. Gods, you’re an amazing partner. It’s just my stupid insecurities. You’re all so fearless and brave. You’re not afraid of anything, and then there’s me; tiny, inferior, afraid of a little thunderstorm.”
She sighed and continued rubbing circles on your back. “I’m not fearless.”
“Yeah right,” you scoff. “What could the great and powerful Alcina Dimitrescu possibly be afraid of?”
“Death.”
You wriggled out of her arms just enough to turn and face her. “What? But, you’re immortal. Death isn’t really something you have to worry about.”
She gave a small smile and brought a hand to cup your face. “I never said my death, sweet one.”
Oh...OH
“The girls are clever, they can get themselves out of most situations unscathed, but still, we can be slain. And there have been some pretty close calls in the past. And you,” she rubbed gentle circles on your cheek. “Your death is inevitable. It gnaws at the back of my mind every time I look at you. Every time morning I have to untangle myself from your embrace I remember that one day I’ll wake up alone and wish I cuddled with you for just a bit longer."
"Al, I didn't-"
"I can't always be there to protect you, including the girls. If I could take the brunt of all conflict for you I would gladly do so, but that's unfortunately not how life works. I'm just left worrying until I know for sure you're all safe."
She hummed into your neck and kissed your pulse point. "How selfish of me, I'm supposed to be comforting you, not the other way around. If I paid more attention I would have known, I’m sorry, my love.”
“Don’t apologize, just hold me.”
Alcina kissed the top of your head. “With pleasure.”
Soon enough you did fall asleep again, your arms still clinging tight around the vampire’s upper midsection. Alcina found a comfortable enough position and allowed herself to drift away as well.

________
It was a close to an hour later and you were halfway through a bottle of bourbon, laying on the back porch of your mom’s house, staring at the rafters and debating finishing off the whole thing.
“Y/N?” you heard. Your skin crawled as you sat up, spotting your father at the other end of the wrap around. “Are you drunk?”
“This would be an appropriate time to tell you that yes, I am and I also have this,” you said, reaching behind your and picking up a hunting rifle. “I might be plastered but I think that’ll only improve my aim. I’ll be nice and shoot for your balls first.”
“You got so much wrong about me kid.”
You fired a shot near his feet and he held up his hands.
“Why don’t you go jump off a bridge or some shit,” you said.
“Y/N.”
You pulled the trigger as he took a step forward and he jumped when it hit the window nearby. You pulled again but it just clicked as he walked closer.
“Your new momma never taught you that kind of rifle only has two shots, did she,” he said. You tried to stand but got way too dizzy and fell down.
“Well I can still tear you apart with my teeth,” you said.
“You’re drunk and judging by your face, very upset. What happened to that boy you were with? I didn’t see him when I looked around.”
“Touch me and that boy will rip your head off.”
“This doesn’t have to be a bad thing,” he said, stepping far too close for your liking. You swung the rifle at him but he caught it and kicked the bottle away before you could get at it. “All grown up. Probably enjoy it now.”
You crawled back as far as you could, eyes darting behind him when you saw movement. You barely caught the brown hair and green eyes before your father was face first on the porch. You tried to stand but he yanked on your ankle and pulled you down hard. It took a long time to peel open your eyes again, your father now at Jensen’s feet. Jensen pushed down on his back while he talked on the phone to someone and it didn’t take long to hear sirens in the distance.
“For the record,” said Jensen as he walked over to you and crouched down, his belt around your father’s wrists, “I didn’t believe you for a second. Oh and you’re a dumbass but you’re my dumbass. Forever. Got it?”
“I couldn’t…” you trailed off. He nodded and took off his flannel, wrapping it over your shoulders. “I knew he would do something and I couldn’t have him near the kids or know they exist. I couldn’t-”
“I know, honey,” he said. “But don’t you dare ever do anything like that again.”
You put your head down sniffled, dizzy still as he rubbed your back before going back to watching your dad.
It took an hour or so before you could go home and you were sober enough to stand on your own.
“Can I ask why you made the executive decision that you did?” asked Jensen, holding your arm loosely as you got into his car to head back.
“Because I’m stupid,” you said dryly from the passenger seat as he turned on his SUV.
“I mean more so why didn’t you come to me if you were scared? Why make up a lie?”
“You did let me go. You must have believed me at least for a few seconds,” you said.
“No, I actually didn’t.”
“You let me go.”
He was quiet until you got close to the brewery, Jensen pulling off onto the plot of land he owned next to it. You leaned your head against the cold window and he turned off the engine.
“This whole, tired, don’t talk to me attitude right now? Been there. Lived it. I know it’s bullshit.”
“You let me leave so you did believe me so-” you said, Jensen pressing a finger to your lips.
“I am certain of very few things and you are one of them. I let you go so I could figure out what scared you so badly you’d lie, to me. There’s only one thing I can think of so before you even had a foot out of that house, I was calling people and I got put on with Detective Finn who worked your case as a kid and I find out that dick for brains sack of shit just moved practically down the street from us. It does not take a genius to put the pieces together.”
“Fine! I did it in some stupid attempt to protect you,” you said. You glared at him and he shook his head. “What?”
“I’m not gonna get mad at you.” You put your head back on the window and stared out to the dark trees, sniffling some. “Why do you want me to be angry with you?”
“Uh because I didn’t forget to turn on the washing machine or leave on a light. I lied. I lied so big that-”
“You lied to protect your family from a monster. Do I wish you had told me? Yes. But I fuck up so much and you’ve never once been angry with me for making a mistake and I’ll never be angry with you for making one either. I know you want me to be angry with you, feel like you should be punished for what you imagine is hurting me. But you didn’t hurt me, Y/N. You didn’t and I know you get that because so many times you’ve been on the other side of this and I know you’ve never once thought, oh yeah Jensen’s a piece of shit, let him really have it. No. Just no. So I’m not getting mad at you and I don’t know what to fucking say to make you feel better like you always do me and I’m so sorry he got so close to hurting you again. But I’m really good at fighting monsters in this family. So please next time, I don’t care if you’re scared of the bug on the wall or you think someone’s outside the house or what it is. If you’re scared, tell me and I’ll do my best to make it go away, I promise.”
“What do you do when you want to hate yourself for being an idiot?” you asked quietly. You heard him shift in his seat and you shut your eyes, the sound of a door opening and then another. Strong arms wrapped around you and you buried your face in his chest.
“I try to treat myself as kindly as she does. She would never hate me and she hates when I’m in pain. I see it all over her face. So I try to cut myself some slack and ask myself if she would hate me and when I realize no, I’m forced to forgive myself and it normally takes a few hours but it works pretty good. A lot of hugs and cuddling don’t hurt either.”
“Thank you for stopping him.”
“Don’t.”
“Thank you. I owe you so, so much.”
“You don’t owe me a damn thing. We got each other’s backs and that’s all there is to it. I’m just sad I missed you trying to shoot his dick off.”
“How did you know where to find me?”
“Find my iPhone. Also I figured that was a good place to check,” he said. “I would have been here sooner if Jared didn’t drive like a tortoise over to the house to watch the kids.”
“I’m sorry I scared you...and you had to do that tonight.”
“Oh punching your father was a personal highlight for me. Trust me,” he said. He stroked your cheek and you turned into the touch, eyes squeezing shut. “You’re safe.”
“He’s going to get out on bail and-”
“And we have a very good lawyer. Oh, and I know the mayor so fuck his ass, he’s not getting bail.”
You buried your face once again and he put a finger under your chin, lifting it up.
“You’re still scared.”
“He’s gonna get arrested for what, trespassing? Attempted assault? I was drunk and shot at him. He can spin it. He can spin it and be out on the street like that.”
“I’m going to ask the lawyer to do something else, something that maybe can take care of that problem.”
“What?”
“Once a piece of shit, always a piece of shit. He’s been gone for fifteen years. I have this bad feeling you weren’t the only one. Or even before that.”
“Or maybe he just hates me.”
“You don’t have to be scared. I’m gonna take care of it.”
“Jensen, I know you don’t have to worry about the money but it might still not be enough.”
“It’s enough,” he said. “Or else next time I’ll be the one with the rifle.”
“You would kill him?”
“Honestly? Yeah if it came to it. I wish people like him died in car crashes, not innocent ones. We have every right to protect ourselves and our family and I’m not letting him touch the kids or you ever.”
“I should probably say that’s bad but I don’t disagree.”
“Money works a lot. A real lot. Maybe he did something super bad and he can rot in prison forever.”
“Maybe,” you said, spotting a cruiser pull up nearby.
“Stay here, sweetie,” he said. He walked over while the officer got out. He spoke to Jensen for a moment, Jensen’s face a bit blank when he turned around.
“What’s wrong?”
“Your dad had a heart attack in the backseat,” said Jensen quietly. You cocked your head and he shook his. “Your father. In the police cruiser that was taking him for booking. He was just pronounced.”
“He died?”
“He was really overweight and didn’t look to be in the best health. He probably got his heart rate up too high and...the officer said he’d escort us home, stay outside the house for the night, calm our nerves.”
“He’s really dead?” you asked. You looked over at the officer and he came over, giving you a quick smile. “He really died?”
“Yes mam.”
“What...happens now?” you asked.
“We’ll file the report but you don’t necessarily need to press charges anymore. You’re next of kin as far as we’re aware so the body…” he trailed off when he looked at you. “We can talk about this with your lawyer.”
“Thanks,” said Jensen. “We’ll be on the road in a minute.”
The officer climbed back in his cruiser, Jensen leaning against the doorframe. He tucked your hair behind your ear, letting out a deep breath.
“Y/N,” he said. He stroked your cheek, your head turning up. “What is it, honey?”
“I don’t feel bad at all. I’m actually happy. That kinda is freaking me out a little. You shouldn’t be happy someone died.”
“Most people you’re right, you shouldn’t. But there are exceptions. He tormented you. He harassed you. He came after our family. I’m gonna sleep just fine tonight knowing he’s never coming back in our lives.”
“Were you scared of him?” He ducked his head down and you took hold of his hand. “Jensen.”
“Put it this way, I’d protect my family by any means necessary. What scares me was what if I was five minutes later tonight. Ten minutes. My job is to protect you and especially from monsters like that.”
“I’m a big girl Jensen. You don’t have to protect me from anything.”
“Yes I do, just like if it were me in your shoes I know you’d have done the same exact thing. We protect each other. It’s not because I’m the guy or I’m stronger. You’re my family and that’s what we do.”
“Thank you for protecting me and forgiving me for being stupid earlier,” you said. He smiled and nodded.
“You’re my dumbass and I’m yours,” he said. “Want to go home now?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I really do.”
“He’s really gonna spend the night?” you asked half an hour later in bed, Jensen shutting the door after himself. “He knows there’s a cop outside, right?”
“What can I say, Jared...he thinks of you like a little sister,” he said. “I can’t blame him for being protective.”
“I’ll be right back,” you said. You climbed out of bed and went downstairs, the light dim aside from where Jared was reading on the couch, a blanket over his legs. He looked over the top of the book and set it down, sitting up.
“Everything alright?” he asked. You smiled and took a seat on the edge of the couch, pulling him into a hug.
“Thanks for staying,” you said, a pair of large arms wrapped around your back.
“Of course.”
“You do know there’s nobody to bother us now, right?”
“I know. Some peace of mind never hurt anybody though,” he said. “Go on back to your fiance. You guys had a rough night.”
“Yeah,” you said, closing your eyes. “Thanks.”
He kissed your temple and you returned to your room, Jensen pulling you under the covers. You let out a deep breath, turning into his side.
“Here,” he said. He started to take off his bracelet but you shook your head.
“It’s yours, Jensen. I feel safe, I promise.”
“You’re tense still, honey.”
“Still working on that not being so angry at myself thing,” you said. He smiled and kissed you quickly, laying an arm over your waist. “I know what you said but I still want you to be pissed at me for lying.”
“You didn’t hurt me.”
“But-”
“You didn’t hurt me, Y/N and you know what? Sometimes, you’re gonna hurt me and I’m gonna hurt you. We’ll have bad days and get annoyed with one another. I’ll leave dishes in the sink and make a mess of the closet. You’ll chew with your mouth open and never fill up your car with gas until it’s too low. We’re not perfect. But even if we do hurt each other, we forgive each other because that’s what you do. We’re not always gonna like each other and what we do but we’ll always love each other. I don’t want to be mad at you. I want you to feel safe and know that I understand why you did what you did. I do. Please try to let it go, for me.”
“I am trying,” you said quietly. You shut your eyes and turned away, his arm over you pulling you back against his chest. “You’re normal. I can’t just stop hating myself like that.”
“You think I’m normal?” he chuckled. “Me?”
“Did you ever have to punch Dee’s psycho father? Did you ever have to talk about protecting her? Did she ever put your family in danger? Did she ever-”
“Y/N.”
“Go away,” you said, pushing his arm off of you. You moved over farther on your side of the bed, tucking your covers under your chin. The bed shifted and you tried to move again but his arm pulled you straight back to his chest, fingers dipping under your ribcage and holding you in place.
“I might not have had to have done those things for her but I would have. For the record, you didn’t put anyone in danger. That fucking asshole did. It is not your fault he was an evil and vile person. All you did was try to protect us because you were scared and I know, I know you didn’t tell me because you’re so scared of that man and I don’t blame you. He made my skin crawl and I interacted with him for all of five minutes. Get it out of your system however you need to but you are stuck with me forever. There is nothing you could do to make me want you gone so get used to it.”
“You shouldn’t have to deal with this,” you breathed out. You pulled your sheets over your head, taking deep heaving breaths. “You have so much to worry about already. You shouldn’t have to…”
“Did you think I couldn’t handle the news?” he asked. “That your father was so close by?”
“I thought you’d hate me,” you whispered. He tugged down your sheets and you squeezed your eyes shut as he turned you around.
“Look at me.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Now you’re angry.”
“Look at me.” You forced them open, meeting a soft face and sad eyes. “Why would I ever hate you?”
“My shit’s supposed to stay in the past. You don’t…” you said, Jensen furrowing his brow. “See, you’re mad.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Your shit stays in the past.”
“It means you’ve had the world’s worst fucking year and you’re in such a good place now and you need to focus on you and not have my shit come in and fuck that up.”
“Do you think I can’t take care of you?” he asked.
“No of course not.”
“It sounds like you’re saying that you think you can’t have problems cause I can’t handle it.”
“Well at least I got what I wanted with you pissed,” you said, glaring up at him, tears welling in your eyes. You tried to push away but he held his arm around you. “Jensen, let me up.” You pushed again and he glared right back. “Stop it. Let me out of bed.” He only glared and you tore your eyes away from his face.
“Do you think I’m weak?”
“No,” you said, keeping your head low.
“Then why-”
“Because you need a fucking break. I dealt with this shit years and years ago. I understand needing a fucking break and people need to take care of you, help you. You’re a different man than the one I met way back in January. You’re so happy and healthy and you have a different outlook on life again and that’s incredible. I’m so proud of you for that. But you’re just, just out of the woods and I’m not gonna be the one that sends you back in because of my fucking problems.”
“They’re our fucking problems,” he said. “Our problems. There’s no your problems or my problems anymore. It’s us together. Why do you think I’d hate you?”
“Jensen,” you said, pushing on his chest. “Stop.”
“Why?”
“I said stop!”
“Tell me.”
“Because I’m scared,” you said. He let his hold go lax and you sat up, getting out of bed. You walked over to the balcony door and rested your forehead against the cool glass. The bed creaked and you felt his presence behind you.
“You’re scared of me.” You scrunched up your face and nodded. “Why?”
“Because if you realized how fucked up I am, you wouldn’t come near me with a ten foot pole. I’m not supposed to cause you problems. I’m supposed to fix them, be there for you.”
“But I can’t be there for you. You assume I’m just a dick where it’s only me and my shit that we can work on right?” he said.
“I didn’t say that.”
“Relationships go both ways, Y/N. I don’t expect you to take care of me for the rest of my life. You are allowed to need help too.”
“You don’t understand.”
“No, you don’t understand,” he said, grabbing your arm and spinning you around. He was frowning, his voice an octave higher if you didn’t know any better. “Do you honestly think I would have been angry at you if you told me about your father being in town? Do you?”
“I put the kids-”
“For the last time, you didn’t put anyone in danger,” he growled. “What is going on with you?”
“How many times do I have to say it, I’m not supposed to cause any problems!” you said.
“Yes you are! You, me, the kids. We’re all gonna have fucking problems sooner or later. Why do you think I’d hate you for telling me you had a problem, sweetheart?”
You fidgeted with the bottom of your shirt, looking past him.
“Something with your dad, isn’t it. Something got triggered in you after that phone call with the detective, didn’t it.”
“Call Ray. Tell him to come over,” you said quietly. He nodded and grabbed his phone, sending off a quick message before he was guiding you to sit on the bed.
“Honey,” he said when you pulled away from him. “Okay, no touching. Can I get you anything while we wait for Ray?”
“Probably should tell that cop that we’re expecting someone,” you said, rubbing your hands against your thighs. “Fuck, tell Ray it’s the help thing. He’ll understand.”
“Okay,” he said with a nod. You rubbed your legs harder and he stared at you. “Y/N.”
“I’m trying not to have a panic attack,” you grit out. “I haven’t had one since I was eight.”
Your head was turned and you felt his hands on your cheeks, Jensen forcing a smile. You stared for a long beat before you took a breath, his head nodding.
“That feels better,” you said, your hands not rubbing so hard. You heard feet and the door open, glancing behind Jensen to catch Jared in the doorway. You could feel your heart rate pick up, Jared nodding.
“I get panic attacks too,” he said. You nodded and Jensen glanced over his shoulder. “I heard arguing.”
“Can you tell that cop outside Ray is coming by and to let him in?” said Jensen.
“Sure. Who’s Ray?” asked Jared.
“Her mom’s old boyfriend and foster dad. He was her therapist when she was little. Something’s not right,” said Jensen.
“I’ll send him up as soon as he gets here.”
You felt calmer by the time Ray was walking in fifteen minutes later in sweats and not much more.
“Hey kiddo,” said Ray, giving you a quick hug before he squatted down in front of you. “Doing okay?”
You shook your head and shut your eyes, Jensen holding an arm around you. He explained what happened, Ray staying quiet. You eventually opened your eyes to stare at the floor, Ray standing and pulling over the bench from the end of the bed to sit on.
“Y/N do you want Jensen to stay?” he asked. You nodded and he hummed. “Y/N.”
“Yes,” you said dryly. “Can I have some water?”
Jensen got up and retrieved a glass from the bathroom, the pair of them watching you chug half of it down before you sat it on the nightstand.
“Y/N, does Jensen know what triggered you?” he asked.
“Not specifically. Asking for help he figured out but not the reason,” you said, looking away.
“Well on the bright side, you didn’t have a panic attack, you worked through it, you trusted Jensen to help you through it even if he didn’t know why and some of your coping skills helped you out quite a bit. But this is something Jensen needs to know. You’ll need help in a relationship and I know this is the big one but he needs to know so this never happens again,” said Ray.
“What if he thinks I overreacted?” you said.
“I won’t, trust me,” said Jensen. “Secret’s safe with me.”
“Go on, Y/N,” said Ray. You took a deep breath and Jensen held your hand, stroking his thumb over the back.
“So you kinda figured out that me having a problem was the trigger and that I didn’t ask for your help earlier and kinda assumed a bad reaction if I did.”
“Yup and that’s all okay,” he said softly.
“It wasn’t because of you that I assumed you’d have a bad reaction. It was something that happened to me that sort of...default my head to react and anticipate things in a certain way in that particular situation.”
“So if you have a problem and ask for help, you assume the person you’re asking for help from will not take it in a good way?” he asked.
“Yeah, basically. If it’s a really big problem and if I anticipate that the problem would upset the person I’m asking then my head assumes this bad thing will happen. In that case, it assumes the much better option is to not reveal the problem at all and handle it myself because then the bad thing won’t happen,” you said.
“The bad thing. It’s bad isn’t it,” he said. “Really bad.”
“Y/N, remember you can share without the graphics involved,” said Ray. You nodded and leaned your head back.
“When I was six I broke something of my dad’s. A mug. His favorite mug. I picked up the pieces but I knew it was his favorite so I didn’t throw it out. I asked him for help putting it back together,” you said. “The amount of rage he had over a broken mug...I never experienced such a horrible day in all eight years as that one.”
He didn’t say anything and you tucked your feet up, holding one up to him and showing the bottom. He stared at it and cocked his head, narrowing his eyes. It took him a moment but you saw when he noticed the small little scars. His eyes flickered back to yours and you nodded.
“He hurt me badly,” you said. “All day long.” He stared at you and you told him exactly the way the scars came to be, Jensen shuddering and closing his eyes. “It wasn’t a good day.”
“Fuck,” he said, standing up and rubbing his arm. “You were six?”
He shook his head and went to the balcony door, taking a deep breath.
“Jensen. You alright?” asked Ray.
“No,” he said, turning around, looking to you. “That many times?”
“One for every broken piece,” you said. He ran his hands over his face and shut his eyes. “The worst thing was just that it went on all day. It was long enough for me to interpret it as conditioning for a result of an event rather than just a bad memory from everything me and Ray worked out back in the day. It hasn’t been a trigger for me ever really but we knew it could be someday for a big life problem potentially. I’m guessing with it involving my dad, it kinda sent me into overdrive earlier.”
“Jensen,” said Ray, shooting you a quick glance. “Y/N’s okay. I’m actually quite impressed with her behavior. There was no hesitancy or waiver in her voice. I don’t feel as though this will likely be an issue ever again now that it’s out in the open and her father is gone.”
“You’re the closest thing to a father she’s ever had,” said Jensen, rubbing the back of his neck. “You know every horrible thing that’s happened to her and, and you just...all you did was throw him out of the country for fifteen years?”
“First off, the law was different back then and it was a lifetime ban. Second of all, buddy, violence isn’t always the answer to violence,” said Ray, getting to his feet.
“You should have adopted her.”
“She didn’t want me to.”
“You were the damn adult. She was the kid. Act like one,” said Jensen. “I mean fuck, you adopted two other kids only a few years later.”
“If I had adopted her you wouldn’t even know she fucking exists,” shot back Ray. “Her father still would have come back and this would have happened regardless.”
“You should have done what you needed to the second he popped up again when she was a teenager.”
“I did not strike you as a violent man but I do not like it.”
“She was almost assaulted by that man again tonight,” growled Jensen. “He tortured her and tormented her and he got barely any time at all for that. I would have-”
“Why’d you call the police then?” he asked. Jensen swallowed and Ray shrugged. “Why back at the farmhouse did you call the police? You could have killed him, called it self-defense and been done with it. Why?”
Jensen looked down and Ray sighed.
“The price for being a good person is making hard decisions, Jensen. Would I have loved to have rid the world of that son of a bitch the second I learned all about him? Oh you don’t know the half of it. I’m a trauma therapist, Jensen. Mostly for kids and teenagers. Do you know how much fucked up shit I’ve heard in my life? The world has so much ugliness in it. But it’s got good too and that’s why you called the police like you were supposed to and that’s why she loves you. She needs a good man, not a violent one. I’m not saying don’t think about protecting your family. But don’t act on it unless you don’t have a fucking choice, kid. Understand me?”
Jensen nodded and Ray cleared his throat.
“Say it.”
“Yes, sir,” said Jensen quietly.
“Ray, don’t get mad at him. He’s not used to this stuff,” you said. You stood and pulled Jensen back to the bed, Ray crossing his arms and nodding. “If I ever feel this happening again, what should I do?”
“You could work on reconditioning instead,” said Ray. “Work on saying I have a problem to Jensen and ask for help, even if there isn’t a problem. If Jensen responds positively or even neutrally and you two work at it maybe an hour or so a day for the next week or two, I don’t think you’ll ever have to be afraid of that trigger coming back. All of your triggers Y/N have involved your father. I know similarities can set you off but they’re small, manageable. You never have to worry about anyone hurting you ever again.”
“I know. I should have trusted my partner to have my back,” you said.
“I don’t blame you. I didn’t before and I definitely don’t now,” said Jensen. Ray smiled and pulled the bench back over to the bed.
“Get some rest you two,” he said.
“Ray?” you said after he gave you a hug. “Why didn’t you adopt me?”
“Honestly?” he asked. You nodded, Jensen preening his ears. “You reminded me so much of your mother and I was devastated when we lost her. I should have been the adult and done what was right but after seeing her in pain for years...I didn’t have it in me to take on a grieving teenager that would have been just as angry back at me. She already was so angry then, I would have put fuel on the flames. I didn’t have it in me to be strong anymore and that’s my mistake for not trying.”
“You can adopt adults,” said Jensen. You both looked at him and he smiled. “Adults can be adopted.”
“Not sure if…” trailed off Ray as you smiled at him. “Y/N, we’ve only just started talking again.”
“Maybe if that keeps going well...maybe things could...work out…” you said. “If you wanted.”
“Yeah, maybe we can do that,” he said with a smile. “It’s getting late. Put her to bed. Don’t be surprised if there’s a nightmare or two tonight.”
“Okay. Thank you,” said Jensen as Ray started to leave.
“Take care of her kid,” he said. Jensen nodded and you lay back in bed, the house growing quiet.
“I’m so sorry,” said Jensen, his head lowering after a few moments. “I should have realized…”
“You did realize,” you said, sitting up. “Even when my head couldn’t come out and say I trust you and I know I’m acting a certain way because of what my dad put me through, you stayed calm and figured it out. You got nothing to be sorry for.”
“I’m sorry he hurt you. I got to pretend to be a cowboy and my dad read me stories when I was six. The worst thing I ever got was a few smacks but I know he regrets doing that,” he said. “Even then it was because I was acting out not…I just don’t understand why he would ever hurt you.”
“I stopped trying to understand him a long time ago,” you said, the door opening. You both turned, Arrow walking in with a pair of wet eyes. “You have a nightmare, sweetie?”
“I went…to the bathroom…” she said when you noticed her holding her wrist. Jensen hopped up and walked over, picking her up gently and setting her beside you. “I fell down off the step stool. It was wet.”
“Tell me what hurts,” he said.
“My hand,” she said.
“Let daddy see,” you said. She moved her hand back and you both saw her wrist was swollen and bruised. Jensen swore under his breath and guided her hand back on it. “Okay, you hold it if it feels better that way, honey. Daddy, I think Arrow should go to urgent care.”
“Arrow, why don’t you go get your dolly and we’ll bring her with us. We might have to wait a minute,” he said. “Be careful okay? I’ll come get you in just a minute.”
“Mommy?” she asked, staring up at you.
“Mommy’s really tired-” said Jensen when you stood up.
“Uncle Jared is staying over though, daddy. Go get your dolly and mommy and daddy will get dressed,” you said. She sniffled but climbed down okay, Jensen sighing when she left the room. “She wants me there and I want to be there. I’m going.”
“Alright but you’re going to try and get some sleep in the waiting room at least, please.”
“No promises.”

You’ll Be Okay
AO3
fourth owl fight attack! This one’s prompt was “Hunter and Luz being siblings” and I went a whole Direction with it
Summary: The Emperor was defeated. Amongst the ruins of a half-destroyed castle, Luz finds Hunter. While waiting for the others to find them, Hunter's shields finally fall apart. After all, at the end of the day, he was just a kid.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Luz found Hunter in the wreckage of the Emperor’s Castle, using his staff (the one that had Rascal perched atop, not the other, artificial staff. That one had been snapped in two) to support himself, his other hand clutching his side.
“There you are!” She breathed, rushing forward.
Hunter flinched at the noise and whirled around, lifting his staff to aim it before falling over at the lack of support. He hissed and curled up on the ground, eyes squeezed shut.
Luz faltered for a moment before continuing towards him, albeit much slower and cautiously now.
“Hunter?” She called, crouched down low.
He cracked open a wild, unfocused eye. It took a moment till it landed on her, and a few more until she could start to see him process who she was.
“Hey,” He croaked, slowly raising his head. “I was beginning to think I’d gotten rid of you for good.” He chuckled, before he was wracked with coughs and curled back in on himself.
“Oh please, you’ll have to try way harder than that.” Luz huffed, though the forced teasing in her tone didn’t work much. “Are you…okay?”
“Take a wild guess,” Hunter muttered, bracing one hand on the ground as the other stayed wrapped around his side.
And yeah, in hindsight, he really wasn’t. His white cloak was ratty and torn all over, the piece of under armor he often used barely hanging on by one strap. He was covered in gashes, bruises, grime, and who-knows-what. His breathing was ragged and raspy, and she figured that, yeah, when one is used as a living portal-booster they aren’t going to come out of it okay.
“Alright, fair, bad question.” Luz admitted, inching closer and placing a hand on his leg. “You need any help?”
“If I say no,” Hunter wheezed, eyeing her hand for a moment. “You’ll help me anyway.”
“Yeah,” Luz shrugged. “But it’s polite to ask.”
“Never stopped you before,” He rasped with the faintest of smiles, slowly leaning back until he was flat on the ground, staring up at the sky.
“Need a minute?” Luz asked, scooting until she was sitting right beside him.
“Or three,” Hunter agreed, shutting his eyes. “Everything kinda hurts.”
“Then rest, someone will find us eventually.” Luz assured. “I…may have run off to find you when I realized you weren’t with the others.” She admitted sheepishly, rubbing her neck.
“If they accuse me of kidnapping, I’ll break your shins.” Hunter threatened, though his tone never changed, and his eyes stayed shut.
“Understood,” Luz smiled, watching as Rascal transformed back into his usual self, chirping as he settled himself on Hunter’s stomach.
And the two remained silent for what felt like hours, though Luz was willing to bet it had been no more than ten minutes. She just looked out at the rubble around them, aching all over as a light wind breezed by. Had she not seen Hunter’s ear flicking periodically with the wind tickling it, she probably would’ve thought he’d died then. His breathing barely even disturbed Rascal, which she had to wonder if he was doing on purpose or not.
“When are you leaving?”
Luz blinked, turning her head down, finding Hunter had cracked open a single eye and was peering up at her.
“Huh?”
“The portal, you went through all this trouble to go back to the human realm, right?” He said. “So, when are you leaving?”
“Oh, uh,” Luz swallowed, shoving down the memory of standing before blinding car lights, reaching for a hand she phased right through. “I...I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?” Hunter repeated, giving her an incredulous look. “You went through all this trouble--”
“Okay, in my defense, this goes a little beyond getting the portal back, there were other reasons.” Luz said, waving her arms to the ruins around them.
“Still,” Hunter braced his arms under him, grunting with the effort as he pushed himself upright, disturbing Rascal. “Last I checked, the portal’s fine. How come you’re not making a beeline for it?”
“Uh, because I need to make sure my friends are okay?” Luz said, like this was the most obvious thing in the world, which, really, it should’ve been. “I’m not gonna leave right away. I need a day or two to make sure everyone's alright and figure out what they’re gonna do now.”
“Go back to normal?” Hunter raised a brow.
“An entire government was just dismantled, Hunter.” Luz deadpanned. “My fantasy books never really got to the part of explaining how they fixed a toppled tyrannical way of ruling, but knowing the Boiling Isles, I doubt this is gonna be easy.”
“Let the people good with politics handle that,” Hunter said casually, slumping back down on the ground and throwing an arm over his face. “They’re not gonna listen to a teenage human and her band of misfits for a new government, anyway.”
“Lilith might be good at figuring that out,” Luz hummed, ignoring him. “She has experience. Raine, too, technically.”
“If you put Lilith in charge, every witch and demon in the Isles will riot in the street.”
“We’re not putting her in charge,” Luz stressed, appalled at the thought. “Just guiding people. See? This is why I need to stay for a little bit, I gotta know what's gonna happen!”
“Do you actually want to go back, or was this all a game of keepsies?” Hunter muttered.
“Of course I--I’m not arguing with you, you’re wounded.” Luz said stubbornly, crossing her arms.
“I'm not in that bad of shape."
“Really now,” Luz said drawled, reaching out a hand towards his chest before Hunter batted it away.
"You trying to hurt me more?" Hunter grumbled, rolling onto his side and wincing with the movement.
"I don't think you could get any more hurt if you tried." Luz deadpanned.
“I’ve had worse than this.” Hunter wheezed out, Rascal fluttering around him anxiously.
“Worse than a living portal puppet...thing?” Luz lifted a brow disbelievingly.
“...alright, fair,” Hunter sighed, a wheezing, noisy one as he shook his head. “This is probably the worst. New record.”
“I don’t want to know what the old record was.” Luz cringed as Hunter rolled onto his back once more, wincing with the movement. “You think the worst of it came from the portal, or being thrown around like a ragdoll by an eldritch abomination?”
“Portal thing,” Hunter said, eyes shut. “I’m used to…” He trailed off, mouth clicking shut as he refused to finish the sentence.
Used to Belos, Luz reasoned, was likely where he was going with that. She gazed at him sadly, his hands clenched into fists over his stomach now, Rascal nudging at his shoulder.
“He didn’t make it, right?” Hunter asked softly, and she didn’t ask him to clarify who.
“I don’t think so, we didn’t find anything.” Luz answered. “We could go check where we last saw him...if you’d like.”
“...later,” Hunter sighed, raising his hands to press the heels of them up against his eyes, fingers gripping his hair. “I don’t wanna think about it much right now.”
“I’m,” Luz started, fiddling with her sleeve. “I’m sorry, about all this.” She said, because she didn’t know what else she could say.
“No, you’re not.” Hunter scoffed bitterly. “You’re glad it’s over.”
“I am,” Luz agreed. “That doesn’t mean I’m still not sorry.”
“I’m not mad at you, I get it.” Hunter said, agonizingly gently. “I don’t need your pity.”
“I’m not--Dios,” Luz muttered as she ran a hand over her face. “Me olvidé de lo reprimido que estabas. You are my friend,” Luz shoved lightly at his shoulder, and he jerked and raised one hand away to give her an offended look. “And as your friend, should the stars align, I am sorry that this terrible situation happened to you, because I care about your well being.” She said, perhaps a few notches more aggressively than intended.
“...I’m your friend?” Hunter blinked, removing his other hand.
“Yes! Yes, you’re my friend! Are we seriously still on that page?” Luz demanded, almost yanking at her hair. She raised a hand when he opened his mouth to speak. “If you start protesting about all the times you were a jerk to me before you switched sides, I’m going to hit you.”
“...you have a very mean way of expressing concern.” Hunter settled on, voice small.
“Because you,” Luz poked at his forehead and got a growl in return. “Can’t get it through your thick head that other people can care about you. Newsflash, buddy. Eda’s already talking to Hooty about making another room for you.”
“She what--”
“So I’m sorry that the castle is destroyed, and I’m sorry that your uncle is gone, because you cared about him.” Luz continued before he could butt-in. “And about that whole...Grimwalker thing, which is a whole other pile of messed up things, but you get the point.” She waved her hands around. “You...you deserved better.” She finally finished, realizing she’d sat up at one point to face him, and now leaned back on her knees.
Hunter stared at her for a moment, opening and closing his mouth repeatedly. Rascal had crawled his way up and onto his shoulder now, looking between the two of them.
Eventually, the tension left his body, and he lay on his side, cheek pressed into the dirty, rocky ground. Rascal jolted, fluttering up onto his head.
“He was awful,” Hunter mumbled, like he was trying to convince someone.
“I know,” Luz sighed, looking down at him. “But you loved him.” She said, and Hunter didn’t dispute it.
“...m’sorry,” Hunter got out, which sounded like a shuttering gasp, as though his throat was closing up.
“What for?” Luz tilted her head.
“You want the list?” Hunter managed, his snark falling short as he rapidly blinked his eyes. “I’d ask why you care at all, but you’re Luz.” He said, shaking his head slightly. “You’re too nice for your own good.”
“It worked out this time, didn’t it?” Luz said, offering a tiny smile as she held out a hand, just short of touching him.
He eyed her hand for a moment, then his gaze flicked across her face, searching. He must’ve seen something, because the little resolve he had left broke, and he reached for Luz’s hand and gripped onto it far more forcefully than needed.
She hoisted him upright, and barely had a moment to spare until he was grabbing onto her, hands fisted in the back of her shirt as he pressed his face into her shoulder. She froze for just a moment before she returned the hug, forcing herself not to protest against the tight grip along her back, definitely going to form nasty bruises later.
She saw that the white of his cloak was covered in dirt and blood all across his back, from injuries he must’ve sustained, though most of it looked dried now. She wondered if it hurt for him to lay on his back like that, and avoided disturbing those wounds as he trembled in her arms.
He shook with cries that were barely choked back, and she pressed the side of her face against his head. Rascal warbled sadly and nuzzled into his head from where he was perched in his hair.
Luz murmured words she couldn’t remember for the life of her, rubbing small circles across the uninjured parts of his back. He only pressed closer, clinging desperately like she’d vanish if he didn’t, and Luz had to put in effort to not fall back.
It might’ve been a few minutes, it might’ve been longer, but gradually, Hunter ran out of steam. His strained cries became muffled sniffles, slumping against Luz like dead weight.
“Sorry,” Hunter hiccupped again, voice muffled against her shoulder. “I think I got your cloak dirty.”
“It was already pretty messy.” Luz assured. “You wanna talk about it?”
“No,” Hunter muffled, hunching his shoulders.
“Okay,” Luz said simply. “We’ve got time.”
“And ain’t that a new concept,” Hunter mumbled, raising his head slightly to instead rest his chin on top of Luz’s shoulder, and she could already feel him wiping at his face. “Having time. I didn’t think I’d make it past nineteen, if I was lucky.” He sniffled, voice hoarse and raspy.
“That…” Luz frowned. “Yeah, we’re gonna make you see someone for all of that.”
“Make me?” Hunter repeated, a faint, fading amusement to his tone.
“We have our ways.” Luz said with a hint of pride. “You’d be surprised.”
Hunter remained quiet for a moment, and Luz watched the old, ripped tapestries in the rubble wave when the wind went by them. She wondered if Eda would be stealing any of those as a trophy, and how long it’d take before Lilith took it away from her.
“Are you going to come back?” Hunter asked, quietly, curiously, without any hint of pleading in his tone, which she was quite impressed by. The subtle grip around her sides tightening just an inch gave him away, though.
“Of course,” Luz said, not needing clarification on what he had meant. “I couldn’t leave this place forever, not even if I wanted to.” She said, and prayed she wasn't lying.
“Yeah, you couldn’t.” Hunter snorted, slowly pulling back as he wiped up the last of his face, though it was still pretty damp as he faced Luz. “They’d be insufferable trying to get you back.” He said, frazzled hair hanging into his eyes.
“Oh, so you wouldn’t put in an effort, then?” Luz scoffed good-naturedly. “Can’t wait to get rid of me, huh?”
“Well now how am I supposed to respond to that?” Hunter demanded in a whine. “I say yes, and you start getting melodramatic and bringing up pointless random acts of kindness like I’m a liar. I say no, and you get all starry-eyed and unbearable.” He complained.
Luz laughed, despite it all. Hunter rolled his eyes and sat back, looking up at Rascal on his head like they were in on some joke she was missing. He chuckled along with her and shook his head, ears twitching down.
“You’re impossible,” He huffed, though he bore a smile.
“I know,” Luz grinned. “And what’s it say about you, still caring anyway?”
“Don’t push it.” Hunter warned, shoving her shoulder as he leaned further back, her only giggling in response.
A call sounded off in the distance, and they both snapped their heads in the direction of the sound. Hunter’s ears pricked high, the sudden shift in personality from relaxed to alert being another slightly alarming thing to put on Luz’s list of traits Hunter had.
The call sounded again, and Luz could recognize the sound of Eda’s voice. She smiled and stood, untangling herself from Hunter as she peered out at the terrain, seeing a figure off in the distance, and if she squinted enough, she could see a few more not too far away.
“Over here!” Luz shouted, hands cupped around her mouth.
“Ow,” Hunter winced, rubbing at his ears.
“Oh, are they sensitive?” Luz worried, lowering her voice.
“Just a bit, I think I had a concussion earlier.” Hunter said, shaking his head to clear it.
“You’re seeing a healer,” Luz said firmly, looking back out to the figures in the distance. “Cover your ears.”
Hunter grumbled something about Luz being dramatic, covering his ears as Luz continued waving her hands and hollering to the others. It took a moment, but she saw one of them break away before the others followed suit, and Eda’s wild nest of hair could be recognizable from anywhere.
“Are you ready to make formal introductions?” Luz grinned down at Hunter, who slowly drew his hands away from his ears.
“Do I have to?” Hunter whined. “I could just live off the land, making a tent isn’t that hard. I know how to steal.”
“Nice try,” Luz lightly pushed at his head. “Unless you’ve got a proper living space, you’re staying in the Owl House.”
“I’m sixteen, no place in Bonesborough will give me an apartment unless I’m rich.” Hunter complained.
“Precisely,” Luz said simply, offering a hand to him. “Wanna try standing up?”
“I guess,” Hunter grumbled, taking her hand and letting her pull him to his feet.
He stumbled for a moment, hissing and favoring his right foot, and would’ve fallen right back over if Luz didn’t stop his fall with her body, hanging onto his arm to steady him.
“Yeah, that’s sprained. Or twisted, don’t really feel like checking.” Hunter gritted out, Rascal cheeping from his head before flying off, transforming into a staff that Hunter was quick to grab and then lean on, taking his weight off Luz.
“Viney can take a look at it, I’m pretty sure she came with us.” Luz said, grabbing Hunter’s hand and slinging it over her shoulder. “C’mon, let’s meet them halfway. You’re lighter than a sack of lumpy potatoes, it’s not hard to carry you.”
“I resent that,” Hunter growled, though he let her do as she wished. “You're just weirdly strong.”
“You live in the Boiling Isles, you're telling me you're not?” Luz scoffed, beginning to walk with Hunter, who used his staff occasionally to push aside heaps of rock or try and limp himself along.
“Well, I don’t exactly have a frame of reference.” Hunter drawled, looking up, his ears pinning back against his head when he could make out who was approaching in the distance. Luz could now see that King was sitting atop Eda’s shoulder, too.
“You didn’t answer my question,” Luz said, noting Hunter’s nerves suddenly spiking. “Are you ready to meet everyone, outside of, you know, portal mishaps?”
Hunter swallowed, looking down at Luz with something that might’ve been fear swirling in his eyes. He searched her face, closing his eyes and taking in half a breath, anything more causing him to cough, exhaling as he opened his eyes again, facing off towards where the others were gathered, the fear replaced with determination.
“Yeah,” He said, clearing his throat when his voice started to shake. “Yeah, I think so.”
Luz smiled, bumping her body against his, and he looked at her with a smile of his own that might just have been hopeful.
She turned back to call a greeting to her friends as Eda was already scolding her for running off the moment she was in earshot, King wailing something about being worried. Hunter gave them his best crooked smile, despite his earlier claims, insisting she’d only come to drag him out of the rubble.
Yeah, Luz thought as she watched Eda and King pause and look Hunter over, easily slipping into mocking him for how beat up he looked, like nothing had ever gone sideways, and it was any other day in the Isles. They’d be okay.

Engagement Pie {Elriel}
Naked Texts & Pie #5
Warning: nsfw. 18+. Dom/sub.
Written alongside @snelbz . Thank you for reading this awfully dirty mini-series that was just meant to be a drabble. (;
Tumblr media
Azriel was about to have a panic attack.
Inside of his mind was not a pretty place to be, not that it lacked ideas of flowers and baked goods, but because it was a complete and utter mess.
All day, while Elain was gone, he had been running around like a chicken with his head cut off, unaware if he was doing everything right but sure hoping he was.
He was hoping it would be perfect.
He glanced at the clock.
He had about half an hour until she got home.
At this point, Azriel and Elain had been dating for a little over a year, and living with each other for nearly six months. Since Feyre and Rhysand’s wedding, they knew, without a doubt, that they were meant to be together.
Then again, they had always known, just had never confessed it.
Their families had been less surprised by their sudden relationship and more surprised by the state they returned to the wedding reception in, but neither of them could find it in themselves to care. They were happy, blissfully, wonderful happy and in love.
Azriel opened the oven for the hundredth time, peeking inside to make sure things were still going smoothly. The pie was still there, it hadn’t run away, but it still didn’t have that beautiful golden brown crust that Elain’s always did. Sure, he could text her, ask what exactly he had done wrong, but that would ruin the surprise. He’d done his best to keep everything a secret so far. He wouldn’t ruin it now by texting her a question he could easily ask Google.
After doing so, it looked like he had done everything right, so he let it cook longer, forcing him to wait longer in anxious anticipation.
Azriel paced back and forth, fully aware that he had everything in place. He just needed the damn pie to hurry up and get done.
Elain would be home in twenty minutes, and Azriel needed to be in place when she walked through the door.
At ten until six, Azriel looked in the oven once more. It looked a little bit better, but not as done as he wanted it to be.
He’d wait until the last possible second. It wasn’t ideal, as there were other parts of his plan that required that pie to be done and, preferably, not piping hot, but he’d make do.
So he continued to pace in the kitchen until he heard the garage door rising, signaling Elain’s arrival home.
Hurrying to the oven, he threw the door open and pulled the pie out. The second it was exposed to the natural light of the kitchen, and not the watery bulb of the oven, he knew he fucked up.
It had bypassed golden brown and gone straight to brown, but thanks to the lighting in the oven, he couldn’t tell. He swore under his breath as he laid a towel on top of the washer and set the pie on top of it, letting it cool.
He’d ordered take out from Elain’s favorite restaurant, which had been delivered just a few minutes before, so thankfully even he couldn’t mess up dinner.
Right at six, he could hear Elain’s feet climbing the wooden steps to the front porch and he quickly sat at the kitchen table and popped open a bottle of wine, filling the two glasses.
When Elain entered, her purse on one shoulder, her keys in her hand, she stopped and a slow smile spread across her lips at the display.
“Wine and Rita’s?” she asked, setting her belongings down on the counter. “To what do I owe this pleasure?”
Azriel smiled as he set the wine bottle down in the middle of the table. “Nothing special. You’ve just been working so hard that I wanted you to have a relaxing night with your favorite food.”
Her smile widened as she sat across from him, but then she stilled for a moment. “Do I smell…pie?”
“No,” Azriel said, then quickly changed his mind. “Yes. It was a candle.”
She blinked once, twice and said, “Huh. I didn’t know we had an apple pie candle.”
She let it drop after that, filling Azriel in on her day. It had been uneventful, a change from her usual hectic schedule, and she was grateful for that. The past month or so, she would come home, scarf something quick and easy down for dinner, and collapse in bed, ready to do it all again the next day. Tonight, she actually had some pep in her step.
“Dinner, wine,” Elain mused, running a finger over the back of Azriel’s hand. “Did you have anything else in mind tonight?”
One of her eyebrows was raised slightly and he knew exactly what she was referring to, which yes, he absolutely did, but first, he had something else he needed to do.
“Actually, yes,” he said, standing. He leaned down to press a kiss to her lips. “Stay here. I’ll be right back.”
Her other eyebrow had raised to match, clearly showing her surprise. “Okay.”
He disappeared for a moment, and when he returned, he held a pie in his hands, dark brown crust and all. It also had a massive “X” cut into the direct center. It didn’t look like a venting hole.
Covering the bottom half of her face with both of her hands, Elain tried to stop the giggles from bubbling from her lips, but she couldn’t. “I knew I smelled pie,” she said, still laughing.
“I sort of burnt it,” he admitted, setting it down in front of her.
“I see that,” she chuckled, leaning forward to kiss him. “I’m sure it will still be delicious.”
He was about to say something when she asked, “But what is that?” gesturing to the center of the pie.
“That….” Azriel started to say something, but wasn’t sure what. All he knew is that he was a nervous mess and not a lot currently made sense. “X marks the spot.”
Elain blinked. “What?”
“X marks the spot.”
She blinked, again. “I don’t follow.”
Azriel sighed. “Pirates… When they bury treasure… X marks the spot.”
Elain’s head fell to the side. “Babe, are you drunk? Are you high? Are you alright? You’re not-.”
Azriel sighed, and reached into the pie. His hand broke the crust, and Elain was so surprised by the gesture that she jumped, and a nervous laugh escaped her. “Az, what are you doing?”
His hand came back up a minute later, covered in apple filling. “You know, I had a whole, romantic thing planned out with the pie. Pie is our thing, and it was going to be cute as hell-.” His words fell off as he opened his hand, revealing a beautiful pear-shaped diamond on a thin, rose gold band.
Elain stared, her mind taking a second to process what she was looking at. He picked up one of the napkins from their dinner and wiped the ring off, as well as his hand, before dropping to one knee from the chair he was sitting in. With his clean hand, he took hers in his. He prayed she couldn’t feel it shaking as badly as he thought it was.
“I know we haven’t been together long, El, but I love you so much. You’re my entire world and my best friend. I can’t—.”
Elain’s lips crashed into his and they went tumbling to the kitchen floor. She pulled back, just enough to see his face and breathed, “Yes.”
Chuckling, Azriel said, “You didn’t even let me finish.”
“It doesn’t matter,” she said, kissing him again. “My answer is yes. Yes, yes, yes.”
He sat up and Elain crawled off his lap, sitting next to him on the kitchen floor. He took her hand in his again. “Let me at least ask the important part, yeah?”
She was grinning like a fool, but she nodded, waiting for him to go on.
Resting the ring against the tip of her finger, Azriel asked, “Elain, will you marry me?”
“Yes,” she breathed, and a tear slid down her cheek. “Yes. Yes! Of course, I will.”
He slid the ring onto her finger with shaky fingers before her mouth was crashing into his, once again.
Azriel wanted to ask that question for so long, and now that he had, not at all the way he had planned, it didn’t even seem like it had happened.
Yet, as she flung her arms around his neck, everything seemed completely and perfectly right.
Elain leaned back and peered at the ring. It was magnificent, lovely, perfect.
She slowly looked at Azriel. “You….hid it in the pie?”
He cringed, but laughed softly. “It seemed like a good idea at the time.”
Her eyes went wide and she glanced at the ring again. “You didn’t bake it with the ring in there, did you?”
“No, of course not,” he chuckled, pulling her back into his lap.
She went willingly, straddling his hips and wrapping her arms around his shoulders. “Okay, good. The pie would have been inedible then.”
“I think it’s inedible now,” he scoffed, his hands gripping her hips, while his lips found her neck.
“I think I should be the one to decide that,” she said, her voice going high and breathy.
“There’s something else I’d rather eat instead,” he replied, tilting her face down to meet his as his lips crashed into hers.
Elain hummed against his mouth as she fell into the kiss. After the millions of kisses that they had shared and the constant lovemaking that had come along with being helplessly, madly in love, Azriel never grew tired of being intimate with Elain.
In fact, he couldn’t get enough of it. Every time he was with Elain, he just wanted it more and more. He couldn’t grow tired of it, ever - it was impossible.
His hands swept up her back and tangled into her hair, and she cupped Azriel’s face in her hands.
He could feel the cool metal of her ring against his cheek.
Azriel rose, taking Elain with him, and laid her down on top of the table. Her head fell right next to the pie. She couldn’t help but glance over at it.
She giggled as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close.
“Something funny?” He asked, ducking away, trailing his nose down her neck as his lips found her collarbone.
“No.” It came out as more of a breathy moan than the sigh she was meaning it to be.
“Really?” His hands gripped her wrists, unwrapping them from around him, and he pinned them above her head with one hand. “That little laugh would suggest otherwise.”
His free hand began undoing the buttons on her shirt one by one, and Elain was practically vibrating beneath him by the time he was pushing her shirt to either side of her body.
Her bra was made of nothing but lace, and he could see her pebbled nipple through the fabric. He toyed with the idea of taking it off, but his lips closed over it, the rough lace scratching against the sensitive skin. She whimpered softly, her back arching off the table to better accommodate his mouth, and when he tugged on her nipple with his teeth, the whimper became a moan.
Gazing up at her, he said, “Is anything funny now?”
Elain sucked in her bottom lip as she slowly shook her head. “No.” Azriel raised a brow. “No, what?”
Elain couldn’t help her spreading grin as pure excitement radiated throughout her body. “No, sir.”
Azriel smirked in return as he gave her his first order. “Stay still.”
“And if I move?” she asked, quietly. Since their first time, Elain learned that she liked to test her boundaries.
Azriel liked it, too - when she was naughty.
“Then I’ll stop,” he said, and slowly let go of her wrists before putting his fingers in the band of her black skirt and yanking it off. “And you don’t want me to stop, do you?”
She shook her head, watching everything he did, biting her lip. Her hands were gripping the edge of the table to hold herself in place. As he dragged her panties down, as slowly as he could, she wanted to reach out and touch him. She was nearly naked, while he was still completely clothed, but she figured that was exactly how he wanted her.
It typically was.
He was quite the tease, but Elain secretly enjoyed that fact.
Azriel took a step back from where she lay and crossed his arms as his eyes swept across her body, taking in every beautiful inch.
In response, Elain spread her legs wide for him.
Azriel took in a deep breath and nearly growled.
He loved the sight of her, longed for it, thrived on it. It made him weak in the knees, still, and he was certain it always would.
“I am amazed,” Azriel breathed, “by your beauty.”
His comment only made her spread her legs wider.
He smirked. “What do you want, sweet girl?” He trailed a finger up the inside of her thigh, getting so close to where she needed him, but not quite.
“You,” she sighed, but it sounded more like a gasp.
“I know that,” he drawled. “Be more specific.”
“Your mouth on me, please,” she replied, gripping the edge of the table harder.
Azriel smirked again as he gently brushed his thumb over her entrance and then circled her clit once. “You’re saying you want me to eat your pie?” He asked, raising an eyebrow and looking up at her face.
“Yes, sir, please.” The words were breathy and quiet and he was fairly sure she was already trembling.
Azriel fell to his knees as Elain’s head fell back in pure ecstasy. It was the anticipation, the want, the need…
The second his tongue swept between her slick folds, Elain was already on edge.
Azriel had that effect on her.
Those hands that gripped the edge of the table tightened, and Elain’s eyes fluttered shut.
He knew exactly what he was doing. He had the first time, and he sure as hell did now as he took his clit between his lips and sucked, gently.
“Az,” she breathed, fully aware that when she said his name, it sent him wild.
He took her ass into his hands and pulled her closer to him.
She could never last long when his mouth was on her. The things he could do with his tongue made her see stars and she knew this time wasn’t going to be the exception. Azriel knew it, too.
He flicked his tongue over her clit and pushed a finger inside of her. “Are you close already, Lainey?”
She nodded, feeling his breath on her sex.
A second finger joined the first, and he curled them upward. “I couldn’t hear you. I said, are you close?”
“Yes, sir, I’m so close,” she panted.
Her arms were straining and he swore he heard the wood groan beneath her hands as she struggled to keep them where they were. It was surprising she’d held on for this long. He knew how badly she longed to have her hands in his hair or even kneading her own breast, still covered in that pretty, lace bra.
“Don’t come yet,” he crooned, pressing a kiss to the top of her sex.
He was torturous.
Purely evil, and yet, Elain thrived on it. Her entire body shook as pleasure swept through her. She was so close. So very close to the edge, ready to fall into the oblivion that was being loved by Azriel.
Her body jerked, and Azriel held onto her tighter.
Elain tried to obey, and tried to stay perfectly still, even though her entire body fought against it.
Azriel’s tongue continued to dance along her sex, continued to suck on her most sensitive of parts.
“I need you,” Elain begged.
Azriel didn’t respond, he only tugged her close, sucked her harder, praised her longer.
“Az, please.” It was more or a groan than anything else and he responded by sucking her clit between his lips and pulling hard. At the teeniest press of his teeth, she began to shake, and then he began to pump his fingers in and out.
Elain shattered, crying out and letting go of the table. Her hand dove into his hair and she lifted her hips, doing whatever she could to keep his face where it was.
Azriel worked her through her orgasm and when she stilled, he stood, wiping off his face and looking down at her. She was still breathing heavily, her chest rising and falling, but that full bottom lip was caught between her teeth again as she watched him. She knew what was coming.
“You weren’t supposed to come yet,” he breathed, dragging a finger from top of her sex up her stomach and between her breasts. He reached her face and worked her lip from between her teeth. “You disobeyed me.”
“I’m sorry,” she breathed, even though she really, really wasn’t. The last thing she was was sorry.
“You’ll have to be punished now,” Azriel said, softly.
“Punished how?” Elain asked.
Azriel watched her for a moment before he said, “Turn around.”
She did as she was told, rolling onto her stomach, her ass in the air. “Is this okay?” she asked.
“Beautiful,” he breathed, and raised his hand before smacking her across her ass.
Elain gasped at the contact and had to bite her lip to keep from exploding into a fit of delighted giggles.
The sharp intake of breath was her only response, she fought to keep in the quiet cry or moan that he wanted to draw from her. She was feeling bratty tonight.
Glancing down at the ring sparkling on her finger, she knew exactly why. She got to experience this sensual rush for the rest of her life. She was Azriel’s.
And he was hers. Forever.
His hand cracked against her skin again and she had to close her eyes and bite her lip to keep from moaning.
He did it again and again, but then he suddenly stopped.
“You’re getting even more wet for me,” he breathed, dragging a finger along her center. She was unable to stop her whimper. He added, “That’s not the point of a punishment.”
He knew exactly what his spankings did to her. He loved it, and if he kept on with it, she’d be dripping all over their kitchen table.
Without warning, he picked her up, carrying her into the living room and tossing her on the couch. She bounced gently, a pleased smile on her face.
“Take off the rest of your clothes,” he ordered, pulling his own shirt over his head.
Slipping the button down off her shoulders, Elain reached behind her and unclasped her bra. She watched as Azriel removed his belt and dropped it to the floor.
She tried not to let herself feel any disappointment as he discarded the belt. He’d used that once or twice before and the unyielding, stiff leather had drawn more than a few orgasms from her as he spanked her with it.
He popped the button on his jeans and said, “Touch yourself.”
Propping her feet up on the couch, she spread her legs for him and slid her hand over her pussy. He was right. She was soaked and so, so turned on. She circled her clit with one finger. She moaned softly, “But I want to touch you.”
“That’s too bad,” he replied, his eyes settling on her sex. “You’re being punished.”
She slid her finger between her folds, teasing herself. Adding a second finger, she just barely dipped them into her entrance, but no more than her finger tips. She was so sensitive, still riding the high of her orgasm and fought off a moan as she watched Azriel watch her.
Dragging the zipper down on his jeans, her eyes tracked the motion and she stilled, waiting for him to take them off.
“I don’t remember telling you to stop,” he said, regaining her attention.
Her fingers began slow motions, yet again, but she didn’t take her eyes off of where his own hands worked at removing his denim. She breathed, “And how long will this punishment last?”
Azriel’s eyes sparked as his chest rose and fell, slowly. “It’ll end when I want it to.”
Elain nodded as her fingers slid up inside of her and she let out a soft, low moan.
Azriel licked his lips as he tracked her every movement. “Keep up the good work and I may just let you choose your own punishment.”
“I’d rather have a reward.” Her voice was soft, low, but it was shaking slightly. The anticipation got her off just as much as her own fingers did.
He paused with his jeans hanging low on his hips. She could see the waistband of his black boxer-briefs underneath. “Oh? And what would that be?”
“I want to touch you,” she said again, slipping both fingers inside herself again, deeper this time. Curling her fingers up, she reached for her g-spot, eyes falling shut when she skimmed over it. Her head fell back against the cushions and she groaned.
His approach was silent, but she felt his hand on her face and when she opened her eyes, he was standing in front of her. His cock was in his hands and he stroked it once. “You want to touch me?” He asked.
“Yes, please.” She continued to pump her fingers in and out and licked her lips as her eyes bounced between his eyes and his thick, proud length. It was just a few inches from her face.
“How do you want to touch me, Elain,” he asked, dragging a thumb over her bottom lip.
It was that tone, that deep, sensual tone of his that drove her mad.
“I want to take your cock into my hands,” she breathed, the words hitched. “Into my mouth.”
Azriel hummed, as if he was debating it. He nodded to the fingers that were pumping in and out of herself. “You can touch me when you’re finished touching yourself.”
Elain nodded, her hand moving faster as she pumped those two fingers in and out, then another, easily sliding in alongside the others.
Azriel stroked himself, slowly, again and again as he watched.
Elain’s other hand trailed between her legs and she began to circle her clit, pulling a loud moan out of herself. As her two hands worked, she drew closer to the edge, and Azriel’s breathing grew shallower.
Her words were high pitched and she was struggling to keep her eyes open as she asked, “Can I come? Please, I’m so close.”
He ran his thumb over her lip again and waited until she was looking up at him. And then he smirked. “No, baby, you can’t.”
Elain wasn’t proud of the whine that she let out, but she slowed her fingers. She didn’t withdraw them, because she knew he wouldn’t like that, but stopped circling her clit. If she didn’t, she was going to come and as fun as another punishment really would be, she wanted her reward.
“Good girl,” he crooned, tilting her chin up to look at him. She’d been staring at his cock. There was a milky bead of precum on the tip and she wanted to lean forward and lick it off.
As if he could sense her thoughts, he ran his thumb over the thick head, spreading the wetness over the length. She tried not to whine again.
“You want me in your mouth?” He asked, shifting his hips forward slightly.
“Please,” Elain breathed, nodding eagerly.
“Do you think you’ve been punished enough?”
She frantically nodded, and Azriel wondered if she even knew she was bucking her hips, searching and needing release. He loved when she got like this, so needy and begging for whatever he’d give her.
Instead of giving her what she wanted though, he crouched, taking the hand that had been circling her clit in his. Raising it to his lips, he licked the tips of her fingers. He moaned quietly. “I will never get tired of the taste of you.”
Elain whimpered softly, her other hand still pumping in and out of herself.
“Do I taste as sweet to you as you do to me?” He asked, leading that hand back to her swollen clit and stood.
She began the slow circling again and nodded, and he knew if she was incapable of speaking, she was going wild with lust.
In the quietest of voices, Azriel said, “Prove it.”
Elain wasted no time wrapping her lips around the head of his cock and lathering him with her tongue. Azriel let out a long, slow breath at the contact and when her finger slowed against her clit, he shook his head. “Don’t stop.”
Elain moaned, and the vibrations against him had Azriel’s fingers weaving their way into her hair as Elain took Azriel further into her mouth.
She continued the slow circling of her clit, but slipped the rest of her fingers from wet pussy. She reached for his cock, to wrap around what wouldn’t fit in her mouth, but he caught her hand. Her fingers were glistening, still costed in her essence, and he brought them to his mouth. “We can’t waste that,” he murmured, before sucking them between his lips one by one.
Elain’s eyes fluttered shut and she moaned softly as he released her hand and slipped his free hand into her hair as well, absolutely controlling her and the pace with which she worshiped him.
Or so he thought.
Opening her throat, Elain took him as deeply as she could, gazing up at him as tears welled in the corners of her eyes. Azriel was unable to stop the groan as he fucked her mouth and throat with no abandon, until she began to gag softly.
He withdrew himself, dropping his jeans the rest of the way, and sat down on the couch next to her. He took her face in his hands and kissed her roughly. “That’s new,” he crooned, his lips dragging down her neck.
Her laughter was sensual as she continued to stroke him. “I wanted to surprise you. I didn’t think you’d be surprising me, too,” she admitted, bringing her hand up to admire the diamond sparkling on her finger.
Azriel wrapped his hand around hers and brought it to his lips, where he kissed the back of her hand, just below her ring.
“I’m just glad you’re not asking me to wait for this again until our wedding night,” he murmured.
Elain grinned. “I don’t think I would survive the wait. I’d have to marry you tomorrow.”
Azriel’s eyes sparkled as he took her hips and pulled her on top of him. “That wouldn’t be so bad.”
Elain moaned quietly as Azriel teased her at her opening. “I don’t know. I kinda wanna make you wait.”
“That, and you want a big wedding,” he said, leaning up and trailing kisses along her throat.
“Not a big wedding,” she replied, trying to lower her hips. His grip was firm though, and she only managed another inch, teasing herself just as much as he’d been teasing her.
Resting her hands on his shoulders, she tried to rock her hips, wanting more of him inside of her. He still held firm.
His smirk was devilish when she looked up into his face. “I never said you were done being punished.”
Her mouth fell open in surprise. She squirmed and his grip on her hips tightened, his smile growing. “Az, please.”
“Hmm?” He leaned up again, capturing her lips with his and his thumb found her clit. Her body gave a jerk and her thighs burned with how hard she was trying to lower herself onto him.
Pulling away, she pressed her forehead against his. “Please… I’ll be a good girl for you. I won’t come until you tell me to. I just need to feel you inside of me.”
He nipped at her bottom lip with his teeth and released his hold on her hips.
She sank down onto him, not gently in the slightest, and moaned as he filled her in one rough stroke. She bucked her hips, not rising but needing the friction as her lips crashed against his.
It was thrilling. There was always a rush that consumed Elain’s body the moment he filled her. A spark of excitement that never grew old, never faded.
Azriel knew it, too. There was a look that crossed her face that only showed itself the moment he entered her.
It was beautiful.
Consumingly gorgeous.
Elain’s head fell back as she rocked her hips - her hips that Azriel’s fingers were digging into, yet again, but he didn’t guide her.
She did that perfectly well on her own.
With his bottom lip sucked between his teeth, Azriel’s eyes scanned Elain’s body, from her tilted back head, to her breasts at eye level, then to where they were connected.
“Better?” Azriel asked, his voice low.
“Yes,” she breathed, eyelids fluttering shut.
He wrapped a hand around the back of her neck and brought her lips to his. The kiss was not gentle, but he knew that wasn’t how she wanted it. Sure, they had sweet, soft sex sometimes, something they both adored on occasion, but nothing drove Elain wild as much as rough sex did. He had never dreamed she’d be as submissive as she was but gods, he was so glad of it. She was the other half he’d been waiting for and the fact that she was his for the rest of his life…
He growled quietly as he pressed his other hand to the small of her back and rocked his own hips up into her. She gasped against his lips and braced her hands on his shoulders as they found a rhythm that had her groaning his name.
There were very few things that pleased Azriel more than hearing his name on Elain’s mouth while they fucked. It broke him, unleashed something unearthly.
His hips thrust harder up into her, and each time he did so, his name grew louder and louder on her lips.
Azriel felt that magnificent, familiar feeling rising within him but he didn’t move his eyes from Elain. Her face was still close to his, her breath hot against his mouth. He cursed before kissing her, yet again, bringing her lip between his teeth and gently tugging.
Before she could anticipate it, he flipped them so they were laying on the couch, his body covering hers, and lifted one of her legs so it rested on his shoulder. It opened her up, allowing him to thrust harder, deeper, and she began clawing at his back. She cried out, and he groaned as she screamed his name.
His fingers gripped her chin and her lust-filled gaze found his. That hand slid between them and found her clit. The next thing he said wasn’t a request. It was a demand.
“Come for me.”
Elain did. She shattered, her body shaking with the force of the orgasm that slammed into her.
Azriel couldn’t hold on much longer, the feeling of her coating him, spasming around him, having him meeting his own end.
He came, one hand digging into the couch cushions, the other gripping her ass. His fingers would surely leave a mark.
Elain didn’t mind.
He fell onto her body, breathing heavily, sweat coating his skin. As Elain caught her breath, her arms wrapped around him.
His face was buried in her neck, and she felt his lips moving and heard him murmuring before she could understand what he was saying. But then she heard him, clearly, and she wondered how it had taken them years to realize it together.
“I love you, I love you, I love you.”
His words weren’t just a quiet praise and reminder, but also a promise, as strong as the one that she now wore on her finger.
He pulled back, his eyes finding hers, even as his chest was still heaving as he caught his breath. Reaching up, she ran a hand through his sweaty hair. “I love you, too.”
His gaze was soft as she leaned down and gently pressed his lips to hers. They stayed like that for a few minutes, slowly kissing each other, not in any hurry to start anything up again, but just enjoying the taste and feel of each other.
When Elain’s stomach growled, however, Azriel pulled back and looked at her with a raised brow.
“Work up an appetite?”
She laughed, quietly. “Maybe so.”
“Well, Rita’s is gone,” Azriel muttered, “but, there’s pie.”
Elains laughter grew louder, and even Azriel couldn’t help but smile down at her.
“It’s a little burnt, but I’m sure it tastes alright,” he went on. "Maybe."
“Pie sounds good,” Elain said, eyes bright. “Even if we can only eat the filling.”
Azriel scoffed. “That’s the best part.”
“True,” she agreed, and rolled off the couch from beneath him. “I’m going upstairs to clean up. Meet me in bed.” She stopped at the bottom of the stairs and looked over her shoulder. Azriel's eyes scanned every inch of her body as she said, “You bring the pie.”
Azriel was off the couch before she could finish her sentence, doing just that.

Waiting for you - Spock
Pairing: Spock x reader (gender neutral)
Warnings: mentions of injury and death
Words: 1838
Star Trek universe: AOS
A/N: Just a lil thing I wrote because I haven’t written (at least for Spocko) in ages. And didn’t feel like writing on a series.
-
“She’s here. She’s here” you heard someone shouting beside you and looked around and finally you could see the Enterprise approaching in one of many tunnels above you. You smiled and stepped forward a little and waited for the crew to dismount. When you saw the first of them, your smile got broader and you got onto your tiptoes to look out for your husband. Not many people of the Enterprise had someone waiting for them and those who did seemed overjoyed. It made you look down for moment because you had a feeling that Spock wouldn’t greet you like others greeted their loved ones. Finally, you could see him and slightly raised your hand, hoping he’d see you. When he did, he came straight towards you, stopping half a meter in front of you
“(Y/N)” he said “What brings you to Yorktown?”
“I’ll give you three guesses” you replied and just threw yourself around his neck “I’ve missed you, Spock” you breathed against his skin and he hugged you back slightly.
“Am I therefore right to conclude that you came here in order to see me during my shore leave?”
“Right” you let go of him but only that you could kiss him. He cupped your face and kissed you back. At some point his hand found yours, slowly stroking his first two fingers against yours. But then he pulled away from you all of a sudden, just holding your hand. You turned around and saw two older Vulcans behind you.
“Commander, might we have a word? Alone?” you wanted to ask why you couldn’t come when Spock threw a glance at you and squeezed your hand
“Do you mind?”
“Just be quick” you pecked his cheek “I’ll be waiting for you, okay?” you handed him a keycard of the hotel where you had booked a room for you both. He gave a nod, then let go of your hand and followed the two men. With a sigh you looked after him and returned to the hotel, knowing he would be clever enough to find it when he was done.
But he only came when it was dark and you were already in bed, reading a magazine on your PADD.
“Have you been waiting with sleeping until I return?”
“Well, you got some days of shore leave, then I won’t see you for another two years. I want to use every minute with you that I can” he gave a nod and sat down on the bed, placing a device on the nightstand. “What did they want?”
“I will tell you in the morning”
“Alright” you put the PADD aside and stretched yourself a little before sitting up, crawling closer to him and wrapping your arms around him again, kissing him. “We now have better things to do, don’t you think?” he kissed you back and placed one of his hands in the small of your back, pulling you closer while he ran his other hand over the side of your face. After the kiss he leaned his forehead to yours and you bumped his nose with yours. “Did you have fun out there on the mission?”
“I have written and called you three times per week, as we have agreed on, and informed you about what you call ‘adventures’ and have also answered each question concerning them I was allowed to answer”
“Well yes but your last message was two days ago. I need a recap of the past two days. Or retell me your favorite mission. Doing it face-to-face is much better” you pecked his lips. He gave a nod, pulled you into his lap and started telling you how the Captain had attempted to make peace between two species that didn’t work out as planned. Then he went on to their arrival to Yorktown and suddenly his communicator beeped “Tell me that’s your private comm”
“It is not” he leaned forward to get it and you just wanted to stop him but let it happen with a sigh. Placing you back on the bed, he gave your hand a squeeze, took the comm, opened it and left the room. With a sigh you fell back on the bed, glancing to the PADD and considering if you should continue reading but then looked at the ceiling, repeating everything you had planned to do with Spock in the following days in your mind. Soon Spock returned and you sat up with a smile but his words ruined it “I must go”
“Go? Go where? Aren’t you on shore leave?”
“I am. However, there is a matter that requires my assistance”
“What is it?”
“I cannot tell you much but I must leave Yorktown”
“You’re shitting me”
“I do not joke”
“But… but… will you at least get that time off later on? How long will you be gone?”
“I suppose it should not take longer than 36 hours”
“Oh well…. Then you owe me yet another debriefing upon your return” he gave a nod, came closer to put his comm on his nightstand and pecking your forehead.
“Please make yourself a pleasant day tomorrow”
“Okay. And then I’ll be waiting here for you… again”
-
But Spock didn’t come home the evening or morning after he had left, so you decided to make yourself another nice day exploring another area of Yorktown. In the late afternoon, you suddenly heard how the station went on alert and after looking around you saw that a swarm of tiny ships tried attacking Yorktown. Around you everyone was in panic, screaming, rallying kids and running away while you stood there frozen, staring at the many little ships on the other side of Yorktown.
“We have to leave. Come. Now” someone next to you shouted, pulling on your arm
“Can we go somewhere safe? Like a… bunker?”
“A bunker on a Starbase?” the man started laughing slightly and shook his head.
“Or can we do something? Something to help? Is there a defense station or militia? Or help evacuate people?”
“That’s Starfleet’s business” as if on cue, there was an announcement, informing the public that there was an attack and that you should not panic. You let out a snort and watched how the people around you seemed to panic even more. You looked around and finally saw a security, officer, going over to him.
“Excuse me, Sir?”
“Don’t worry, we’ll all be safe, just stay calm and…”
“No, I wanted to ask if I can help something.”
“Help?”
“Yeah. Weapons, evacuate people or something” he looked at you, considered it a while then said he’d have to check it out. But before he could return, they managed to somehow blow up all the small ships. Somehow you couldn’t believe that this was everything and sure enough, there was another announcement informing the public that a great part of the ship had been destroyed but that three of them had gotten into Yorktown but that they still had the situation under control and would do everything to stop them. For some reason, you found that three ships hand entered Yorktown almost worse than the initial attack. Because you knew there probably wasn’t much you could do unless the ships came to that part of Yorktown, you sat down in a café, ordered a drink and watched the news on the big screen that gave a permanent update on the situation at the other end of Yorktown. Not even 15 minutes later, you heard that everyone was out of danger and the intruders had been rendered harmless. After a sigh, you finished your drink and then returned to the scene of the action, maybe there now was something you could help, like tidying up damage or helping the wounded. You stayed there and helped until it was dark and the volunteers were sent home, so you returned to the hotel. But you didn’t get far and the receptionist called you over.
“You are (Y/N) (Y/L/N), right?”
“That’s me, yeah”
“I have message for you, from a doctor Leonard McCoy”
“I know him. He’s the doctor on the Enterprise. What is this message about?”
“He lets you know, that your husband… Commander Spock will spend the night in Yorktown hospital”
“Ho-hospital? They’re back? What does he have? Is it bad? Can I visit him? When did they get back?”
“He only told me that so you know where your husband is and in case you wish to see him. I don’t know anything else” you nodded and with a thank-you you ran out of the hotel, to the hospital, where you had brought a few people earlier today. You went to a visitor station to register your visit and once you knew where your husband was and that he currently could be visited, you rushed to the elevator and then to his room. When you saw Spock lying in bed awake, you let out a deep breath and moved closer.
“Spock” you breathed, not sure what to say and having a hundred questions at the tip of your tongue. "How are you?” was the first you asked
“I am well, (Y/N). The doctors insisted I stayed the night to ensure that my condition does not become worse” you nodded and came closer, taking his hand, pressing a kiss to it as you sat down on the edge of the bed. To your delight, he squeezed your hand.
“What happened? To you, I mean?” he explained how on the mission his side was impaled by a piece of metal and that McCoy didn’t have the correct equipment to properly treat him. “At least you’re safe” you ran your free hand through his hair. “When did you even get back?”
“4.2 hours ago”
“That was… that was when the attack happened” he agreed and said it was them who played a great role in stopping them. “Oh so that big ship that destroyed the central plaza was you, the Franklin?”
“Indeed”
“And what about the Enterprise?”
“She has been destroyed”
“Oh no. What about the crew? Are they safe?”
“We have not yet been able to ascertain who has survived the attack on the Enterprise and who lost their life, however, I am certain that at least 350 people have survived”
“Out of 428 that’s still a lot that could have died”
“Besides, I also know of at least 16 casualties from the crew” you gave a nod
“And what now? I mean is your mission over? The Enterprise is gone”
“We do not know yet but it is certain that we will remain her for longer than the originally scheduled 12 days of shore leave”
“Well, then we got more time to do something as long as we’re here. And I get to see you longer. Ha that visit was worth it” you leant down to kiss his forehead. “Now we just gotta make sure you’ll be on your feet as soon as possible because I have lot planned for the next days”
