oh wow, great to find someone else enjoying Fairmeadow!! amazing art, and I've loved the worldbuilding/designs for Goma and the orcs.
Yay another Fairmeadow fan! A friend recently recommended it to me and I now recommend it to anyone else looking for good thoughtful fantasy webcomics that play with the genre's conventions. :3 Here's the pitch for the other people reading this post who haven't read Fairmeadow yet: "An orcish warrior joins an isolated pacifist commune-- can she learn to live alongside those she swore to fight?"
Goma, a wayward Orcish soldier, finds herself in Fairmeadow, a commune of pacifists deep in the Cascadian wilderness. Isolation has allowed the commune to thrive in the shadow of a century-long war, but Goma’s arrival brings troubling reminders of the world outside to those who have settled there in search of respite. Fairmeadow’s enigmatic leader, Sanctuary, finds his utopian vision challenged as he struggles to keep the peace. Their self-sufficiency exists on thin margins - margins that threaten to break if Goma cannot learn to live alongside those who she has sworn to fight. Fairmeadow is a post-epic fantasy drama inspired by the counter-cultural movements of the late 60’s, the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, and tabletop RPG’s. It’s about the collision of idealism against pragmatism, reckoning with the consequences of dropping out, and trying to make its readers want to go on a hike.
It also has gorgeous art, especially the landscapes/backgrounds! I've noticed a lot of webcomic artists are either good at drawing expressive characters or expressive backgrounds, but this artist is great at both. The worldbuilding is conveyed pretty subtly/naturally through dialogue, and the good writing in combination with the beautiful detailed background illustrations really helps sell the story's fantasy world as a 'real' place. It's also pretty queer, though it's far more focused on 'the emotional and societal consequences of war' than on romance. tl;dr: I know half of all fantasy webcomics try to do a 'what if the monsters/orcs were Sympathetic" storyline, but this is genuinely one of the best-written examples of that!
#one of the few well-written examples of it#not because the idea is bad#but because most webcomics are bad XD#I say that as someone creating bad webcomics#it is very hard to make something good#especially if you are working alone and have no budget#and anyone can self-publish a webcomic so theres no barrier to entry/no filtering process#it's a lot like fanfic-- fanfic isn't inherently 'worse' than published fiction there's just no barrier to entry#I LOVE webcomics but i don't generally read webcomics because they are good XD#i read webcomics because i want to see someone spending an agonizingly insane amount of time to say something thats valuable to them#if they're good it's just a bonus#a cool miraculous bonus#a good webcomic is extremely rare.#fairmeadow

Part 3 of Batman the Playboy, in which I change my mind about the reveal in part 2:
Batman: “So you didn’t notice?”
-justice league record scratches-
GL, horrified: “No. there’s no way, there’s absolutely no way…”
Batman’s grin would fit better on a supervillain, before he suddenly, miraculously, transforms. He leans back, tilts his head, the smirk isn’t evil but instead inviting and amused: “Really, Mr. Jordan, your job is just so fascinating… tell me more about planes…”
GL: 😨
Batman, turning on the rest of the league, one by one, changing his body language ever so slightly for each person: “Mr. Allen, I do hope you’ll entertain me again if I’m ever back in central, I had a grand time. Dinah darling, I stand by what I said, Ollie was SO much nicer to kiss when we were in college. Princess, the boys and I are in your debt. Mr. Jones…”
Batman’s mind goes no thoughts, head empty. Martian Manhunter is both impressed and embarrassed, nodding in understanding as Batman turns to the final hero, smiling sweetly, brain still empty as a blank sheet of paper: “And, Mr. Kent…”
Batman steps closer, hand on Superman’s chest, hip cocked, Brucie Wayne smile in full effect: “Our conversation got… cut off, the other night, because I wasn’t sure if you’d be okay with me going further, which is a damn shame. Call on me, won’t you?”
Superman, realizing why a very eager Brucie Wayne stopped their makeout session short: “…huh? OH- um.. uh huh.”
Green Arrow, short circuiting: “No fucking- BRUCIE? How? How is that possible?”
Batman, backing away from a shutdown superman, the physical mask on his face hardly the most effective one in his arsenal: “Because I’m Batman.”
Bonus for @help-i-need-a-cool-username: Hal Jordan STILL doesn’t know who bruce wayne is.
a few months later:
GL: “So this big old money billionaire guy in gotham is connected to this, i think he’s called Wayne or smth.”
Justice league: “…”
Flash, had a FULL DAY of Brucie and was VERY aware of who he was with: “Uh… Hal?”
Green Lantern, who heard Bruce’s name in passing, while distracted, under loud club music + has tried to erase that night from his memory: “what?”
Batman, under his breath: “We can find your secret identity so easily, batman, you’re not that good, Batman, we’re just being polite, Batman.” Sure you fucking can, Jordan. You know, it’s polite to remember the names of people who you’ve fondled.”

I wish the plot of the first season was Marinette coming to love being Ladybug. Mostly because I’m sick of it still being presented as a chore when she could easily pass the responsibility on to someone else. Instead, Ladybug is still presented as mainly a burden that Marinette is forced to nobly bear. My best guess is that she’s meant to be a tragic hero, but she's mainly just annoying.
Both times she gave up the earing she only took them back because there was no other choice. The writers could have dedicated an arc to Marinette learning what it means to be a hero (If nothing else, this needs to happen! Marinette is one of the least heroic heroes I have ever seen in media) and then being given the option to give up the earrings, but refusing because she wants to be Ladybug. One reason I think Adrien would make a better protagonist is that he clearly loves being Chat Noir.
Or if that’s too serialized for the show’s formula, then make being a miraculous holder an inherited position to justify why Marinette is still doing this. Maybe only descendants of the original holders can wield their respective miraculous. Maybe since the kwamis are basically gods, their holders are their avatars. They reincarnate every hundred years or so, and the kwagatama allows them to speak to their past lives. As a bonus, both these options provide an organic way to explore the lore of the miraculous and Marinette’s chinese heritage, both of which are extremely lacking in canon.
---
Yeah, like, that's the most annoying thing about Marinette Ladybugging: she sucks at it, she hates it, she merely does the bare minimum and yet she has all the power to quit at any second. As soon as an audience member realizes she holds all the power in this situation, the question of “why” becomes essential. Why is Marinette still Ladybug? She only views her duties as a burden and she kinda sucks at superheroics with her fix everything spell and far more dedicated partners carrying her and pulling her ass out of the fire whenever she's dealing with anything more stressful than a run-of-the-mill Akuma. If she was up against supervillains where you couldn't just magic the problem away like a real superhero, she’d be throwing crying fits every week.
Like, back when Neon Genesis Evangelion came out, people didn't really understand what parental abuse does to a kid and they were constantly annoyed at Shinji not just telling his dad to go screw himself if he didn't want to pilot the super cool giant robot. There's some lack of sympathy in general going on here, but people who didn't get it were asking those questions. And that was when said abusive dad was also telling him he’d send in a grievously injured girl in Shinji’s place if he didn't do it. Yet no one questions why Marinette, who's her own boss and yet constantly complains about her job, doesn't just quit.
It's starting to feel like some attempt at false humility by the writers, where the reason it's okay she gets all the power and authority is because she doesn't "really want it", but it comes across as more like her not appreciating it. She's supposedly really stressed out, but she doesn't exactly feel concerned for the people following her lead, considering none of her concerns are about if she's being a good leader or not. Whenever she's concerned about her performance, it's mostly in terms of how she's viewed, not how she's impacting others.
Her arrogance goes even higher than Barman's in terms of thinking she's the only one who can do the job, but Batman actually gets called out for this attitude.

My True Love is Dead

Maskless version

The art piece was Surprisingly cooperative and didn't crash once! A true miracle considering it was 3000x4000 with 100+ layers and ibis was crying to me abt performance near the end. The only issue was that I have finally suffered the curse of colors changing on different displays 😔, the color of the shadows (bg, midground, and foreground) WERE SUPPOSED TO BE VIOLET and ended up blue when I looked on my phone :'|
.
I didn't execute bash on slashes hip the way I wanted too, but im honestly not to upset, it just looks like he's not connected to her 💀. Slashes skin also ended up being more lively than intended considering the undead status and a (presumed?) Lack of blood in her.

Also silly bonus doodle! (Pre MTLiD)

The rest of the post is yapping about my slash! If you don't care you don't need to read it :3
.
.
I had to think of backstory for slash I felt fit, with her scars and the canon tragic backstory of vengeance, and I debated around giving her a bear theme because bears are cool but I scrapped it. Eventually I landed and stuck with a carrie-esq backstory.
An unpopular nerdy kid in college who, on Halloween, was invited to a party in Lakeforest by some of her college classmates, a ploy to kill slash out in the forest. Telling slash of the Lakeforest killer as a campfire story they set the plan in motion. As one of the members of the group snuck away, grabbing an outfit similar to the lakeforest slashers (bash) and the machete they'd packed, heading back to the party to 'kill' the others before targeting slash. After a chase into the deep parts of the woods, slash tripped and was caught by the fake. Leaving her with life threatening cuts, the party fled the scene not knowing slash had miraculously survived. Making her way to a hospital and receiving care, she reported all that happened to the police, knowing who and why they'd done it. No justice was served though, as the members who organized it had powerful ties to the college and political community that saved them.
Upset, angry, and vengeful, slash decided to do it herself. Dressing in casual clothes with her red turtleneck, she grabbed a machete and some throwing knives to execute her Halloween vengeance. A gruesome sight as she killed every member of the original party except one. It should've been on kill, it turns out slash didn't only just like killing, she was good at it.

Ladies and Gentlemen. I give you Little Vesperia. She's a powerful punch in a petite package! I posted her design in sketches ages ago but I was SO jazzed to finally do it digital. And I finally could do Teen Zoé and Vesperia.
Buckle up folks this is a long one.
I won't go into too much detail on Teen Zoé's fit, since I already talked about it in here. But Vesperia is where things get more interesting.
Little Vesperia obviously takes more inspiration from Queen Bee since in my rewrite Zoé idolizes Chloé so much. Zoé's father couldn't really be bothered to care about Zoé, she's been at every boarding school and summer camp he could afford while still keeping most of the money Audrey sends him. She rarely sees him, and when they are stuck together he wants her out of sight and out of mind.
Then Zoé is uprooted entirely when Audrey's infidelity is exposed. To save face she gets brought to Paris, to play at being one big happy family. She may be young, but she's wise enough to know this is just another person using her for their gain. She did face bullying at her schools, and a whole lot of nothing done about it from the teachers.
She also does not speak french. Which means that a good 70% of people have no idea how to communicate with her. And Audrey was no help. Zoé vas given so little information she didn't even KNOW she had an older sister when the was taken to France. Chloé was a complete blindside to her.
And she especially doesn't expect this intimidating teenager to kneel down to her level, and in perfect english explain that it's okay to be scared and she'll make sure Zoé won't be stuck wondering what's gonna happen next.
They spend the rest of the day learning where everyone is, and what certain things are called in french so that Zoé has a better way to communicate. They also sit down and order decorations for Zoé's room.
Zoé fully anticipated André to ignore her, but he is kind like he is in cannon. Just very busy so can only get in small conversations with her. Still, he's shown her more care than her own father had in the 9 years she's been alive. Since he'll ask her about her day, anything she may need, how school has been, etc. He also manages to get a free day to show her all the cool things in the hotel that most people don't know are there. He tries to have dinner with Chloé and Zoé as often as possible and they eat lunch together at the hotel at least once a week.
Now to Teen Zoé. I'll probably write this down in a separate post but my Idea for her is because of the limits I put on the rabbit miraculous Bunnix is no longer able to fight Timetagger, but she IS able to bring someone from that point in time to help instead. And since bringing anyone that could be recognized could potentially cause a paradox, the best solution is to bring in someone who they haven't met yet.
Design wise I like Vesperia's cannon design but it does look more like a wasp than a bee. I based her top on these biker jackets that had segments on the sides and just made the segments alternate black and yellow. I originally planned to keep the black top and yellow bottoms, but it just didn't look the way I wanted it too. I think making the jacket yellow makes it look much more like a bee. Also black mask because I like how those look better.
I think Little Vesperia looks good too, different enough from Queen Bee while still looking like she took inspiration, my favorite part was making it look like she had striped socks. While Teen Zoé looks like a logical progression while also dipping into badass as opposed to cute. Also her pupils turn gold to further differentiate her from Queen Bee.
(Bonus- Verpseria with colors closer to her originals)

Blorbo Adoption Poll Finals!!!
This is where we decide who tumblr’s collective son is

“Tails” miles prower (Sonic)
Rob (the amazing world of Gumball)
Propaganda under the cut
“Tails” miles prower (Sonic) Propaganda
tails is just so . cute.. abd autism. ok so
he's 8 years old and he really really likes inventing and just machines in general. he's basically a little brother to sonic so i mean if you want to lump them together that's perfectly okay :3 anyways he's surprisingly smart for an 8 year old. he has GOT to be super fluffy. and we can see that in the movies, he certainly is!!!! he can fly a plane. he's very friendly. he has no alive and known parents in most canons (i say most because there is like. one canon where he has parents who are seen and alive)
here's some bonus propaganda if you want to group him together with sonic:
okay so first of all. you can NOT separate the brothers
but also sonic is the adhd to tails' autism. tends to come up with stuff on the spot, impatient, etc... he's really cool. he's so funny sometimes!!! also he has literally unparalleled amounts of tboy swag. hates bullies. god please i love these silly lil animals i might need to cut this off before i autism out too much so ywah
Rob (the amazing world of Gumball) Propaganda
To put it simply, god doesn’t like Rob. Bro really said “mmmyeaa this one is kinda boring” and sent him into the void (literally). Miraculously he got out, but his home, familly and basically everything he cared for is gone. Not to mention he became physically deformed in the process. This 13 year old little boy is now homeless without a purpose. And no one seems to be concerned for him. Please give this boy a home, he needs some good parents to take care of him and a nice cup of hot chocolate.

I was rewatching some of the earlier seasons and s2's ending is almost Perfectly set up for a Final Battle Situation. The big bad is in person and powered up, all the heroes are there, etc.
Now I know s2 very much DID NOT have enough set up for it to be a good ending, but after rereading the Scarlet Lady AU I'm left wondering:
How could a finale Like s2's work for Miraculous? Like even if it was pushed to s3 instead. A big final with the small team of heroes and all.
(On another note I really like your analysis posts! It's interesting seeing people tackle the issues of the characters from the writing perspective mainly)
I'm glad that you like my stuff! Hopefully you enjoy this one, too!
There are a lot of ways to do a final like the season two final so long as you set it up properly which season two kind of did. The season featured three new heroes being chosen. Those heroes featuring in the final makes sense! The problem is that they were pretty worthless and could have been cut without major repercussions to the way the final plays out. That's not how you want to do a final. The new heroes should matter otherwise why waste our time introducing them?
There's also the issue that Scarlet Moth comes out of nowhere. Gabriel just randomly decides to use this cool new power because the writers said so which is pretty boring. If we're rewriting this arc, then we want to make the powerup come as a result of the new heroes being introduced to give a better feeling of cause and effect or at least back and forth power scaling.
Here's a rough outline of what the season two might look like if you didn't make any major changes to the season and also didn't want this to be the series final:
Season two opens with Hawkmoth somehow becoming more powerful. A new ability, Mayura being introduced, anything to up the threat level.
Ladybug and Chat Noir decided that they need help to deal with the increased threat level so Marinette begs Master Fu to introduce more miraculous holders. He agrees, but only on a temporary basis.
New holders are chosen early in the season and we get several episodes that show these new heroes doing their thing to really cement them as solid additions to the cast.
The advent of the new heroes freaks Hawkmoth out and he starts to plot how to make multiple Akumas at once so that he can counteract this larger team.
All of this leads to the season finale, which happens the same way it does in the show, BUT our new heroes aren’t akumatized. Instead, they realize that even they aren’t enough to allow Ladybug and Chat Noir to win. They need more help
Someone suggests that the new heroes should go out and rally the people of Paris to distract the Akumas.
The new heroes rally the people allowing our dynamic duo to face down Hawkmoth. They win, but Hawkmoth gets away.
Ladybug and Chat Noir realize that this victory only happened because their new allies were there. Master Fu realizes it, too. The season ends with him permanently giving the miraculous to the new heroes since he's the character who actually needed to learn that lesson.
Optional bonus feature: season three sees Hawkmoth able to send out multiple akumas at once as a new upgrade, but we get even more heroes to counteract this upgrade so it balances out to neither side getting an advantage. A move you really do need to make if you want to explain why a greater team is needed full time.
A series finale would require more changes, but would look pretty similar as season five already showed. In many ways, the season five final is just a rehash of the season two final because this show did not have five seasons worth of plot in it! Same goes for season three and season four. The plot beats of those finals are nearly identical.
I'll still give you a more detailed option for how a series final could work, though, since you did ask for that:
Introduce a larger team for some reason. Same list as above applies with Mayura probably being the best bet. I'd also go for something that lets Gabriel make multiple akumas, but only on a smaller scale. Five or less a fight.
Gabriel is struggling because of the larger team and decides to come up with a way to have more fighters on his side. This is the b-plot for whatever season we're in. Could be the alliance or something else.
Meanwhile, team miraculous is working to track down Gabriel's identity. They succeed in the final episodes of the season, but before they can decide what to do, Gabriel sends out his army which includes Mayura so the heroes can't just stop Gabriel and win. They have to fight on both fronts.
Team miraculous comes up with a plan to split forces with most of them protecting Paris while a small strike team goes after Gabriel. This would be a nice way to show off Alya's second-in-command skills if you go that route with her.
Cue a battle that lasts at least two episodes and gives everyone a chance to show off the skills and teamwork that the show took time to show them learning because the show should do that.
Fight ends with the heroes victorious and Paris saved! You could also let Mayura get away if you want to keep the story going in a spin off or something.

Small reference for an AU that's been microwaving in my brain for a while and is kinda Halloween-y, titled...the Were-Pina AU! (aka werewolf!lila)
At first, I was thinking of basing her colours off of a fox, but eventually decided to go with a maned wolf. Not only because I think they're cool, but because they used to be mistaken for foxes, which I feel fits with Lila (or more specifically Volpina, since she pretended to be the fox miraculous holder).
Anyways this isn't really an AU I've given much proper thought to lore-wise, it's more like one of those AU's that has no actual plot, but I just love it anyway
Also, here's a bonus Chlolila doodle for this AU, featuring a draft of what detransformed Lila looks like:

So with my thought on different yin-yang pairs that would cycle between 6/7 Miraculous, I also wanted to cover the different pairs for Felix and Marinette as I do think they are a pair that can easily use both Ladybug and Cat.
So I wanted to see if that could extend to my idea on other pairs, particularly Fox/Peafowl and Bee/Butterfly.
Which, for this, there are tweaked themes for these pairs.
Fox and Peafowl echo themes of Deception and Truth/Vision.
Bee and Butterfly echo themes of Order/Notion and Chaos/Emotion.
Bonus, Turtle/Serpent.
As this got long, going to exclusively focus on Fox and Peafowl.
Initially, for me, Fox and Peafowl stand out to be the most interchangeable pair for these two.
Felix is an easy stand out for Fox. He has an eye for detail and being clever, and he's always been a deceptive character (pretending to be someone else why trying to woo LB, being deceptive in canon, pretending to be Adrien at times, ect.). Canon has also brought in Felix doing magic tricks, being something of a magician, who are illusionists. And of course, there is that little detail that Trixx and Felix both keep their hands behind their back when idle.

Felix with Fox can also work off questionable loyalties, as the Fox is often a self-serving animal, not known to be loyal and helps with their own interest (sounds a lot like Felix). Additionally, with canon, Felix also matches the Fox in terms of curiosity/nosiness and being a risk taker. And of course, doing illusions would be right up Felix's alley, as that allows him to decide when to have the stage and when to be more elusive.
With Trixx, that could've been an interesting kwami to work off Felix, being another deceiver/manipulator, and should be a little impish and selfish at least, and you get these two cunning manipulators trying to outsmart each other, clashing only because Felix prioritizes himself while Trixx is for the greater good.
And as a (dark) monochrome character, I do think it can be in the best interest to get something colorful to signify the change in life. And orange represents warmth, spontaneous, and playfulness, working off Felix needs to learn to lighten up, to be "warmer" as he's initially cold.
For Marinette, Peafowl's a pretty natural click when factoring all things that peacocks represent.
Peafowl is a big symbol of Vision, which can include having an eye for deatil/being perspective, looking to the future, being a visionary, and seeing what others do not see (including a supernatural sense). All of which matches with Marinette, being observant, having goals for the future that she works towards, and a knack for predictability and how she can pull off her elaborate plans. She's also quite vigilant, and can usually pick up on trouble or when something is off, which can work off peacocks tied to vigilance and guardianship.
Peacocks are also big symbols of incorruptibility, able to literally take in evil and turn it into beauty (which really kinda makes it weird for it be a misused villainous Miraculous). This works off Marinette as a natural creator of beauty, but it works off her role as a cleanser/purifier.
The Peafowl naturally works off Marinette's interest in fashion, as a natural symbol of beauty and vibrancy, able to stand out.
And on the topic of visual, Marinette has a nice inverse color coding to Duusu:
Visually, this nicely sets them up as foils that click and balance each other out, with Duusu being more "cool" coded to Marinette who is more "warm" coded. So where Marinette is more affectionate, energetic, and humble, Duusu in contrast should be more sophisticated, level headed, and egotistical/vain (this is not Duusu's canon personality, based on the little I've seen, but emotional birdbrain isn't what really comes to my mind for a peafowl kwami).
Working off this set up for Duusu's personality, you can get two dramatic characters with similar moral alignments working off each other, but able to balance each out. When Marinette overthinks and spirals, Duusu brings the truth and logic, where Duusu has the ego, Marinette has the humbleness. Duusu should also be a kwami who adores her interest in fashion, and should be one of the most romantically engaged kwamis, a literal wingman, who wants Marinette to display her colors and show off her interest to her crush (not that she's there yet). Additionally, Marinette can be chaotic and unpredictable, which as a peafowl, Duusu is set up to be more for integrity and order, so anything sketchy will be called out.
Working off Origins, where Marinette's biggest issue is self-confidence, Peafowl is a natural answer as that's an animal that's all about confidence and knowing your self-wroth. This can also work off Marinette getting pushed around (mostly by Chloe), giving up what she's rightfully won (Gamer), and putting herself down/shifting to prioritize someone else's feelings over her own when she also needs a chance to be upset (Glaciator).
Peafowl can also cover Marinette learning leadership as they are tied to royalty and clarity.
It could feed into her Atlas complex a bit, as this is a symbol of absolute goodness and fortune, but this animal has themes of being self-serving (flaws of pride, ego, and vanity), so it probably wouldn't be to the extent of Ladybug.
Now, on the reverse...

Prior to Felix officially joining canon, Peafowl was a natural click for Felix in fanon content, especially as an alternative to Cat. And there was a lot of merit to the possibility.
Felix is a naturally deceptive character who does questionable things, it makes sense for him to get an animal that's tied to truth and integrity, to challenge how he is. Duusu would also come with a lot of the similar appeals to Tikki if paired with Felix being more for the greater good, strong sense of responsibility, to step up to help others, and be morally upright.
Blue as a color can also work off what Felix needs growth wise, it's tied to trust, loyalty, responsibility, security, and truth. But it also vibes with him better as a cool color, one that is more passive and reserved.
But Felix also clicks as he is observant and does know how to grab attention and stand out as needed. And for PV Felix, who seems fine just minding his own business and not wanting attention all that much, that adds another nice contrast as this is an animal about having attention, and showing off your vibrancy (which can have some comedic potential for a more reserved character like Felix).
Now Marinette with Fox is another fun and interest kwami swap, one that's also pretty decently popular.

Marinette matches Fox in creativity, observation, quick wit, being chaotic, and being a risk taker. She also is someone who likes to work long range if she can (though will make do with close range). Similarly, she also knows when to grab attention and when to step back and be in the background.
Fox just very easily can click for Marinette. And the show did give us an example in how elaborate her illusions can be (Kwamibuster).
The biggest intrigue can be with Marinette and Trixx. With Marinette having more moral integrity can Felix, making her the more morally upright character, it can open up Trixx to be more of an impish wildcard. It's actually a similar appeal to Marinette and Plagg, where Plagg is up to be more problamatic in contrast to her. Given the Trixx we saw in Sapotis, I got an impression that with Marinette more likely to get involved and do the right thing, it opens up to Trixx prioritizing Marinette own needs and growth. And with foxes being a more self-prioritizing animal, that can work off what Marinette needs, while still working off Marinette's knack for meddling.
I do also see Trixx getting into Marinette's antics too and having fun with it.

Lafayette bird, birdfayette, and bonus cat Robespierre in the corner heres a zoom in of that
You probably want an explanation for this and don't worry i have one
*inhales*
So for starters I have this Superhero universe i call Sapphire, it's basically a mix of genres and storylines and all that stuff, the main story takes place in the modern world but I do have quite a few prequel stories, like the one you're seeing now(this one is called "Epoch")
I have uploaded some Sapphire stuff before (one character, her name is Glynnis Peterson or Whitefire) she can be seen in these
(ik I drew the hands wrong on the first one, I only noticed after I finished it)
So back to the drawings why you're all likely here, Which I will divide into two groups:
Lafayette:
I had the idea of Epoch already semi-going and I thought I'd just leave Lafayette human and move on, but then I fell down a rabbit hole which made me discover that in Miraculous he was an eagle holder. I am not really a Miraculous fan(it's not my taste) but the idea stuck like glue to me and after much debating with myself I decided that I shall do something similar with my own bird people.
These bird people are called Avyens, they have a butt load of notes that I'll upload if people care enough, basically imagine a bird person that's way to overpowered but in a biological way, because most of if not all their abilities are based off real animals (mainly birds) in some way. People can get turned into one and that's what happened to Gilbert. The infection happens when mitosis goes wrong and gradually over the span of years turns you into a bird person(I am maybe also considering making it a bacteriophage-based infection instead). fun fact: humans contain the genetic material to make feathers and I took that and went haywire. Anyways, I decided to have that start getting "rapid" in the middle of the American Revolution (1778). I plan to make him a short toed snake eagle(Circaetus gallicus) since they are found in France and look cool
Robespierre:
this one is going to be fairly short apart from the lore itself.
I'm new to AmRev Tumblr and even newer to frev Tumblr, so idk much behind the meme itself(if it is one), with cat Robespierre, it stuck the same and had the same outcome as the birdfayette
So the lore itself: so this god, another figure I will mention more later if people care created these things called Juko, basically the spirits of dead animals that hold nature and justice together with elemental powers, these Juko need a human "host" or epitome to have a physical form and actually do stuff, these epitomes usually inherit their powers and physical features and can hide them with magic and stuff, compared to all my other superpower methods they're the spoiled rich kids.
you can imagine my fear when I realized how similar this also sounded to Miraculous, so expect lore to change😭
I also fully plan to have funny interactions between the two since Robespierre liked birds but hated Lafayette, and cats hate birds stuff
There's probably a lot I'm forgetting but oh well
If something wasn't clear please tell me, I have a habit of writing things in a way only i can understand and wrote this in one go

ok, sorry if question is a bit long and if you have answered, please put the link for me to see please. Well... what are the names of the heroes? What was each heroe's first choice? (I mean the ladybug and cat holder). I know that Marinette is with the Fox and Ivan with the turtle, but for some reason I think that if they swap it would combine more (I speak more in symbolism, ivan who cannot lie with the "miraculous of lie"). What is the weapon of each carrier? About the turtle and Ivan, I think a purplish blue would match more (that leatherback turtle). What are the camouflaged forms of each miraculous? Do you have the reason why every person has every miraculous?
A big ask, but thats okay! I'd love to answer! Note that some answers like names and weapons are subject to change, im not great with names and im less familliar with some characters than others so, opinions and other ideas are awesome :)
Names and weapons, left to right:
Aliase Rouges (red wings), Cartoony sledge hammer
Veilluese (night light), Grappling hook
Bison? Hyland?, Guitar- its electric but doesnt have to be plugged in..
Adora (play on Adore), Frisbee
Ouroboros, Mirror shield (play on the medusa myth)
Tack (to temporarily fasten something together), Big Needle
Captain Stinger (shortened to Sting), Cutlass
Jockey?, Reins? maybe a whip
Alectryon, rooster body (i guess?)
Jack Rabbit (shortened to Jack), Pickaxe
Ridley (a type of turtle), Detatched shields- Bonus purpley-blue version: honestly it works just as well.
Tora (Japanese for tiger, i think), Sythe
R.A.T (acronym for Rodent Assist Team? idk, funny bit based on pokemons F.E.A.R strat lol, also sounds like a dj name??. also based on his purpose being mostly assisting pedestrians), Glow sticks (almost like a pair of lightsabers, without the deadliness. Basically glowing battons)
Boar, Boomerang (shaped like boar tusks).
Cirrus (a type of cloud, Aroure and Mirelle share the name and the miraculous), Lightning rod/ wind sock
Caprix (Play on Caprine), Chunky roller blades
Gibbon? (a type of monkey), one of those silly stretchy sticky hands
Reasons for each holder are here!
First choices are also listed there, if there isnt an alternative listed, they either had the same idea or no strong preference for a different holder. Regarding swapping holders based on symbolism (i.e. Ivan with the fox, Mari with the turtle) that would be super cool and i may draw them at some point in the future, but wouldn't fit with my au. This is because my bug and cat holders choose them based on preexisting relationships, traits, and talents.
Camouflaged forms are these:
Struggled with Alyas rabbit miraculous tbh, it doesnt quite fit with my au for it to stay a pocket watch anyway (the Rabbits power being swapped from Burrow in a time sense, to Burrow in a dig way) so i guess its normal activated form would be some kind of keychain? Alyas disguise currently is a tamogachi :)
Nino wears the mouse necklace wrapped around his wrist like a bracelet.
Max's snake bracelet turns into a smart watch.
Markovs claw connects to his existing claws, and mimics what claws he already has.
Mirelle and Aroure have similar chokers with the charm changed. Aroure has the lightning bolt, Mirelle has the rain drop. They have the chokers replicated by comission with Marinette so they can swap the actual miraculous between them when needed.
Sabrinas sunglasses are prescription. They could also be just normal glasses, no black tint, when appropriate.
Marcs ring, where rainbow, is iridescent!
The butterfly and peacock are still unavailable to our heroes.

Thoughts on/Rating the S9 images that will probably be wrong in 3 months LETS GO -
Tecna is the best. Hands down, 10/10. I don’t care if they threw it together at the last minute to avoid backlash, give whoever designed her a goddamn raise. The bob with purple streaks, the vinyl skirt, it’s so perfect I can’t handle it. Me to Reboot Tecna:
Please let that be real. Please let the metal arm stay, Straffi.
My girl Musa is an official SHORT QUEEN, a popular headcannon that’s been going for years. I’m thrilled someone finally listened. Her iconic pigtails are also back, which is a bonus is my book (do they kinda look like Marinette’s from Miraculous? Yes, because Rainbow’s gotta steal one thing per season for Winx). The outfit isn’t my favorite, but better than others I’ve seen her in. A very respectable 8.5/10.
Rainbow’s art department raised enough money for brown paint, which is great news for Aisha! No more whitewashing! Her braids are stellar, her look is sporty, just very cute in general. The color scheme is very different from her original look, but I like it. Give Aisha bright colors. Let her be happy. And now tallest girl? 9/10
Flora’s look is the most similar to the OG series. Really the only difference is that weird ass green jacket - thing looks like it came off a one-day Project Runway challenge. It seems waaaay too structured compared to the rest of the outfit. That’s legit my only note. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, I guess. 7.5/10
Bloom’s look says 2 things; “I’m Bella Thorne from Shake It Up!,” and Certified Horse Girl™️. I do not vibe with either. Bloom is not either. Why is she in pink again? Why is her belt so big - Bloom is so impatient and always in a rush, do you think she has time to put a belt on every day? I get the skirt is paying homage to the S3 one, but the rest is…a choice. This would be lower if Bloom wasn’t my favorite character. But she is, and it’s not the worst look. 6/10.
No, no, the worst look here is your favorite Solarian princess and mine, Stella. I get Rainbow was trying for a new look, but it doesn’t land for me. I don’t like the sunglasses, I don’t like that her dress is pink because that’s never really been Stella’s primary color - it’s more Flora and Tecna’s (and now Bloom’s I guess because UGH). She’s also wearing sleeves, which Stella rarely wore in the series because she is the fairy of the sun and I always thought that was a cool wardrobe detail. The only times she’s worn long sleeves (as a primary outfit in the season) were in S6 with her Alfea uniform, and Season 8, which barely counts. Just…make it orange. Or yellow, or even blue. It would fix so much. 5/10 for doing this ray of sunshine so dirty.
Also, if we can afford new civilian and transformation outfits for the girls, we can do the same for Ogron and the Black Circle. C’mon guys. Also! Why does Ogron have a dark dragon? What the fuck does that mean? Please do not pull a S8 Valtor on the Wizards. They don’t deserve it. And probably get Duman in there before the fans come after you.
#winx club#winx#winx reboot#winx 9#tired: rainbow didn’t put tecna on the poster because she’s the least popular#wired: rainbow didn’t put Tecna on the poster because she would have been TOO POWERFUL#also do you think if I email rainbow and ask them to sell me direct streaming to my tv at home they’ll say yes?

Hey gurl, if our favorite ghost fighting team were given a miraculous which one would they get?
CLOVER I LOVE THAT YOU WORK WITH ME HERE. I can count on you for your FLAWLESS tastes.
I would be lying if I said I haven’t thought about it before. I feel like the „easiest“ choices would be
Danny = Ladybug (Cause of main character reasons, Entire world relies on u to not fuck it up), Snake (because the concept of second chance would be beneficial for him)
Sam = Black Cat (black !! Duh!!!;) OR Butterfly (as it would require her to handle butterflies as Kamikos)
Tucker = Bee OR Dragon (He’s usually the one providing cover and mobility, also I just think he would look hella cool in a yellow or red super suit.),
Jazz = Peacock or Turtle (working with sentient beings/Protection just fits Jazz like a glove)
Bonus:
Valerie = Bunny
Dani = Fox
Im happy to listen to any other suggestions✨

What D&D classes would the CKC cast play as, and what would be their playstyle?
cody - changeling rogue. he'd get obsessed with trying to ride on the back of a hill giant instead of just freakin' killing it, and would probably forget he can do stuff like shapeshifting/bonus actions/etc 80% of the time. he's pretty deadly when he's locked in though, but it'd take some proof and convincing that an enemy is worthy of death. he'd also doodle while playing, heavily distracting him, but at least by the end of each session there's a bunch of silly drawings his friends can flip through.
mini - changeling cleric. the twins are both changelings cuz of everyone in the series, i think they're the only ones that've achieved being losers, cool kids, gods, averaged, AND banned. she's actually a big fan of making overly complicated plans, whether it's a heist, a jailbreak, you know she's got a dozen pastel gel pens to plan it all out! unfortunately she's got horrific luck, consistently rolling under 10. at least the plan goes well when someone else is carrying it out.
peter - human paladin. he has perfect recollection of all the rules and likes the game to be as immersive as possible, because convincing himself he's really a heroic paladin that people like and respect was his copium as a loser. that being said, post-series pb would have a bit more fun, especially with cody there to involve him in all his crazy antics.
juvie - tiefling barbarian/fighter multiclass. they frequently have to reassure their team they're not a violent psychopath irl, it's just that if you're playing in a world where you can do anything, why WOULDN'T you give every kobold a uniquely gruesome death and decorate your camp with their guts as a show of force? anyway they're very combat focused.
peggy - wood half-elf druid. any chance she has to transform into a unicorn she takes (it's not technically allowed but daniel allows her to turn into a horse that has a horn for flavor). she mostly trots around, eats apples, gives people horsey-rides, makes friends with other animals and often demands that daniel allow them to resurrect their friends (ahem cody) whenever they miraculously die.
holden - human bard. he actually brings his guitar and plays a short tune whenever he uses bard magic, it really adds to the immersion! he's also the party-face, meaning he's in charge of persuading the guards not to imprison everyone just because juvie tested the flammability of the local tavern's liqueurs. after a dozen of these instances he's gotten in the habit of telling guards "i've never seen that tiefling in my life."
daniel - elf wizard, (though he'd focus on dming, he'd probably include his own character in the campaign at peggy's request because "he'd be left out" if he didn't). his character would offer important exposition when it's already too late and punish the others for their reckless shenanigans by not helping them when they're in a bind. "it's better for character growth" he says.
gigi - sorcerer. she'd immediately grasp the rules, min-max the hell out of her character, remind people to use their ability modifiers and always be on the hunt for the best equipment, often getting holden to help bargain for them with his high charisma stat. her gamer-brain's also got a good memory for the lore of the campaign. "where was the grand exchange again?" "it was north east of kragmaw, remember?" "..." "in that cave in the side of the mountain?" "..." "you caused a cave-in that cut the water supply off from the local town, displacing hundreds?" "... ooooh, right."
rhyme - astral elf. would join the campaign a bit later than the others since she'd still be getting used to the friend group and all. everyone would welcome her in and they'd all grow as friends. she's annoyingly good at everything as always, yet somehow whenever she's near, mishap seems to follow. juvie's certain she's up to no good but no one believes them, until some pivotal moment when daniel reveals he'd invited her to play as a double agent on the side of evil and in order to complete the quest they must all fight to the death. when asked why the hell he'd do something like that he says "dammit i told you cody, FOR CHARACTER GROWTH!!" rhyme has stellar acting and everyone fights her with teary eyes, until... i dunno, they find some secret option of exorcising her of evil and completing the quest and no one dies and yadda yadda happy ending. anyway juvie gives a very well-deserved i told you so and rhyme admits her being the secret villain was a bit on the nose but she enjoyed the theatre of it all.

I Made MORE Princess Bee Fanart:
Sup, I had my wisdom teeth ripped out of my head, which means I had pain and time to kill! That means I made more fanart for a miraculous ladybug AU created by @princess-of-the-corner, because it has gripped it's claws into my brain and will not let go. AU is called Princess Bee.
I made a short, sketchy comic based off these two posts involving Adrien getting akumatized by a Butterfly!Lila and her finding out about the ENTIRE sentikid nonsense through his emotional meltdown. Beware of tonal whiplash.
Explanation of AU under the cut (as well as a little bonus drawing). I did not come up with this idea, go read the Princess Bee tag on @princess-of-the-corner! (and all the other AUs and fics going on over there, they are so cool).

>:) :'). Oh, and I gave Chester a rat's tail braid.
General Explanation of Princess Bee: If I keep making fanart of this, I'll probably just make one solid paragraph and stop rewriting this every single time!
Anyway, sometime before season 5, Chloe gets disowned/emancipated and skips town, where she goes to law school, gets therapy, and eventually has a daughter named Dawn. Shortly after she leaves, an altered version of the S5 finale goes down where a Wish is made that prevents the current Team from using their Miraculous again. Lila, with nobody left to get revenge against, disappears underground to do low-scale cons. Ships sail and children are had. And then everything goes to shit many years later when the Adrienette kids find the miraculous and take them on a joyride that ends out VERY on the news, which causes Lila to resurface. At the same time, Chloe gets dragged back to Paris due to Andre's death and failure to update his will. Now it's up to the Next Gen kids to stop a new Butterfly under their parent's guidance, all while everyone is navigating a complex web of interpersonal relationships!

Bonus: Butterfly!Lila design. Technically, this could be for anything, since Lila is all geared up to be the new main villain and Butterfly holder of Miraculous, but I designed this with Princess Bee in mind, so she's an adult. I based her off a purple empress butterfly, and also could not remember Cornerverse's Butterfly!Lila name for the life of me, so I named her Empress. I don't love the name, but I don't hate it either.
#Me designing the backdrop for Lila and Chester's place:#“I know Gabe got a whole secret evil lair in a big spooky attic in his mansion with a secret conservatory and everything”#“But you two are on a budget. How do you feel about a shitty bachelor pad with peeling yellow wallpaper and blackout curtains?”#fanart#ml fanart#I gave Lila short Cerise hair solely because I did not feel like incorporating the long hair into a cohesive butterfly design#Also it's a gradient that goes from pinkish brown to light purple#but I was too lazy to draw that in the comic so it's only in the design page#miraculous ladybug au#not my au#oc fanart i guess#not my oc either though#Chester is great#miraculous ladybug fanart#mlb#mlb fanart#short comic#lila rossi#adrien agreste#butterfly!lila#i feel the paranoid need to credit the 5 minutes later panel as being from Spongebob even though literally everyone knows this#Giraffe's Scribblings

It's Chameleon Time, and I Don't Mean the Cool Lizard
I decided to watch Miraculous Season 3 Episode 1: Chameleon, the salt episode, because I suddenly decided I wanted to know how real the salt was again. Here's my thoughts:
Damn, Lila's good. She has backdoors for her lies and the only one I'd really call bad was the napkin one, but then again these are 14-15-year-olds in 2015-2016. They probably believe in the secret Grillby boss fight after beating Sans in genocide.
Despite being the two biggest targets for the salters, Adrien and Alya were incredibly chill here. Adrien was doing what he thought was best for the context and would defnitely change is mind if he heard Lila threatened Marinette, while Alya was one one most on Marinette's side. They're besties.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Marinette was just jealous of Lila at first until she threatened Marinette in the bathroom stall. Her grievances were more at Lila throughout the episode than what she was doing to the class.
Marinette, all you had to do was excuse yourself to the bathroom, transform, and explain the situation to Nino and Alya.
In general the closest thing to hostile the class was to Marinette was Kim and Mylene calling her out for throwing stuff at Lila (a major no-no there,) and a few moments where they all looked mad at her, probably because it would be cheaper instead of giving them all different reactions.
I have to wonder if a lot of the stuff Lila does in fics is real or not. I know she makes people do the work she doesn't want to do, but do future episodes showcase her as a con artist like in the fics? It wouldn't be surprising, at the very least.
Did anyone seriously believe Chameleon's ruse as Adrien? It's like she was trying to be horrible. I could do a better job at both lying to appeal to the class and posing as Adrien.
If Lila continues to be as evil as I think she's gonna be, I hope she gets turned into a clam more often even though I know that won't happen.
So yeah, that was the salt episode. Here's my beliefs on how the class views Lila with one bonus:
And also @flightfoot because I know you were curious.
