Vincent van Gogh was born and spent his youth in Zundert, a few kilometers to the West of Baarle.

Zundert is as much on the Belgian-Dutch border as Baarle-Hertog/Baarle-Nassau but without the enclaves. It's a tiny piece of Holland that pokes into Belgium.

It made him a Dutch protestant boy surrounded by Belgian catholics.

So Lindsay Van Zundert has retired❤️‍🩹

Her “11 past the hour” short program will still live in my head rent free and I will forever wish we got to see her “pirates of the carribbean” free program more, my introduction to figure skating was the 2022 Beijing Olympics and considering how much of this sport consists of people shouting about quads etc one of my favourite things about the “new to fs” fan stage is the fact that you literally don’t know anything and end up deciding on who your favourite skater is purely based on how their skate made you feel.

Lindsay was one of the skaters that made me want to continue watching fs after Beijing, the “first skater in 46yrs to compete at the Olympics for the Netherlands” story was plastered everywhere and I thought it was just the best thing ever! Her skating to me was like a stop and take a breath moment, a reminder to just appreciate. I am so glad Lindsay got to have her Olympic moment and make her mark on Dutch figure skating❤️
