Honestly, I feel like I was not productiv today, but at the same time I do? It is a weird feeling. Anyways: Todays topic was Chaos Magick. Even though I am not at all focusing on the 19th-20th century it is interesting to take a look at later forms of magical believes. That timeperiod in particular is interesting, since psychoanalysis became a thing, what also shaped the view on magic itself.

Key figure for CM was Austin Osman Spare, who was a "critic" (that might be a far to nice word) of Freud, Jung but also Crowley. His philosphy/religious view mainly focused around the Idea of KAI as the unfiltered source energy of all. All in the sense of literally everything as one conected being and us as humans as part of that one thing. ZOS is more or less the lack (?) of KAI or having it blured by something like the ego. To reconect to KAI Sigil Magick is used as a tool.

eso bringing back the stolen fanart to profit from it

apparently this december 7th, 2023, zenimax is bringing back the ragebound crown crates. this is the crate that features the real-dollar-costing body art cosmetic lifted from a fan's art.

originally, the body art was labelled as relating to almalexia, despite the stolen artwork clearly depicting sotha sil. the item itself was renamed later after sotha sil at a MUCH later date.

is this decision to bring back ragebound crates (unprecedentedly quick, considering they JUST came out earlier this year) an attempt to re-market the STOLEN art under this new name? Probably.

will the item instead be taken out because holy fucking shit it was snatched from a fan artist who was 'compensated' with a goddamn non-speaking non-questing npc hanging around the barren outskirts of the newest dlc? Probably not.

either way. don't buy it. don't waste your money and time.

I’ve largely grown disinterested with ESO besides using it to play dress-up with my blorbos and to turn my brain off now and then, but just 5 days ahead of the upcoming developer stream where they’ll reveal the next dlc/chapter/whatever they call it these days, they just posted this teaser of the ouroboros emblem, but consumed with a tentacle motif and emblazoned with the signature dual-pupil’d eyes of Hermeus Mora if you look hard enough through the heavy green haze over the image. I won’t recite the caption verbatim, but it seems to be a quote from the god himself addressing the listener as “champion”, and beckoning them to join him in preserving “what threatens to unravel”.

So apparently wherever this upcoming dlc will be set, Hermeus will be a major player and seemingly an ally. (a refreshing break from the exhaustingly overplayed deadric invader storylines from like 75% of the rest of the game.)To the point of where this dlc will be set, I’ve seen some speculation that it may be on the isle of Telvannis/Eastern mainland Morrowind, however I’ve seen no evidence to that and it may just be Dunmer fanboy hopium. Other options include Solstheim due to the major Herma Mora temple there (assuming that even exists in a tangible state in the 2nd era, I’m a bit rusty on that bit of lore) which honestly I’m only excited for it being an option so I can laugh about Solstheim being added as dlc to a TES game for a 3rd time. The last idea I have for a location is Winterhold, which is mostly based on nothing but there being a wizard college for smart book people there, and also my own interest in seeing ZOS answer one of the greatest mysteries in ESO…
