from this article about wang yibo’s new show with discovery channel 📝
Discovery Channel's latest masterpiece "Exploring the Unknown" officially announced that Wang Yibo's first outdoor exploration full record
Produced by Warner Bros. Discovery and exclusively broadcast on Tencent Video, Wang Yibo's outdoor exploration documentary program "Exploring the Unknown" has officially been announced. Starting from August 31, the 12 episodes will be updated twice a week on Tencent Video. Actor and singer Wang Yibo, as the initiator of the program, will follow six Discovery Chinese explorers to start an outdoor exploration journey deep into the polar regions. Cheng Er will be the special interviewer to explore Wang Yibo's mental journey and personal growth in participating in the program.
It is the first outdoor exploration documentary program that Wang Yibo has participated in. The program unites six top survival and outdoor experts in China: Lao Xue, a jungle survival skills expert, Zhou Peng, a leader in China's mountaineering community and the first mountaineer to win the "Asian Golden Piolet Award", Wang Hao, an extreme explorer who focuses on cave exploration, Zhou Fang, a natural documentary director and senior underwater videographer, Abang, a world-class rock climber and rock climbing instructor, and Wu Xinlei, a former member of the French special forces and desert survival expert. In the 12 episodes of the program, they accompany Wang Yibo to six extreme geographical destinations such as snow-capped mountains, deserts, islands, and tropical rainforests to complete the exploration mission.
Through real-life footage it presents the audience with the entire process of natural wonders, exploration challenges, emergencies, and outdoor fun. In the trailer, Wang Yibo follows the explorers to extreme environments such as snow-capped mountains and tropical rainforests, and embarks on outdoor challenges such as rock climbing and waterfall rappelling, showing a strong learning ability and sense of skills. When exploring the snow-capped mountains, Wang Yibo faced altitude sickness, quickly adapted and handled it calmly, and successfully reached the summit; when rock climbing, he faced the danger of the rope falling off, but he still did not give up the challenge... His determination and attitude to overcome adversity, his passion for love and exploring the unknown, show the vitality and vigor of young people.
The program not only presents the process of young artists exploring the world, but also focuses on exploring the spiritual world of explorer Wang Yibo. Through six exploration themes, Wang Yibo constantly challenges his physical limits, explores the boundaries that the body can reach, discusses topics about growth among young people, and shows Wang Yibo's attitude and thinking towards big topics such as living, ups and downs in life, fear, and loneliness. Each challenge brings him one step closer to his true self. Contemporary young people can project their own mental state into the program and follow Wang Yibo on a journey to find inner answers and inner strength.

Love Me, Love My Voice (很想很想你) Review
I went into this drama not knowing anything about it. I didn’t know the actors nor the plot. However, after watching this drama filled with honey dripping sweetness, I was so glad I gave it a watch.
My Rating: 9/10
Episodes: 33
Country: China
Genre: Pure Romance with good Music and too many scenes with food
Aired: Nov 30th, 2023 - Dec 16th, 2023
Cast:
Tan Jian Ci plays Mo Qing Cheng/ Qiang Qing Ci
Zhou Ye plays Gu Sheng/ Sheng Sheng Man
Hou Wen Yuan plays Zhou Zheng/ Jue Mei Sha Yi
Yang Xi Zi plays Geng Xiao Xing
Vincent Cao plays Feng Ya Song
Chen Hao Lan plays Dou Bing/ Mo Mo Er
Synopsis:
Sheng Sheng (played by Zhou Ye) seems like a typical university student, however she has another identity online as “Sheng Sheng Man” where she makes music in the folk pop genre. One day, in a voice chat room while Sheng Sheng was talking to her friend, her idol, Qiang Qing Ci who is a voice actor (played by Tan Jian Ci) enters the voice chat and speaks to her. Thus, Sheng Sheng’s world into professional music and love begins.
This drama was adapted from the novel “Really, Really Miss You” (很想很想你) by Mo Bao Fei Bao (墨宝非宝).
Beware of Spoilers Moving Forward!
What Episode did the Main Couple Start Dating?
Sheng Sheng and Mo Qing Cheng start dating as early as episode 8. She is reluctant to accept since they have only been together a handful of times, however, Mo Qing Cheng persuades her to start a relationship with him.
Misunderstandings?
There are literally no misunderstandings, no break ups, no petty problems between the main couple as they talk about their feelings pretty straightforwardly. This show was genuinely a breath of fresh air between two green flagged characters.
Love Triangles?
None. Nada. There was no second male lead or female lead there to squash the other person’s feelings. Purely feel good.
Love Me, Love My Voice Ending
Love Me, Love My Voice has a cute typical happy ending, where they skip 2 years into the future and basically wrap up the story where they show that Sheng Sheng has finished her postgraduate studies and is beginning to work professionally as a composer. She is also preparing to get married to Mo Qing Cheng as he has already bought them a house. They go on a little vacation to their first retreat spot, and take wedding pictures and essentially reminisce about their time together.
We also find out that Zhou Zheng and Geng Xiao Xing are also officially together. We also get a cute ending for Feng Ya Song and Dou Bing, where he finally takes the courage to try to confess to Dou Bing and she essentially accepts by telling him to stop talking, and takes his hand.
Love Me, Love My Voice Review- Cute, Fluffy, Wholesome Romance
I give this show a wonderful 9/10. This show literally was the fluffiest, cutest, most wholesome romance for a girly who loves romance. It fulfilled every checkmark. The main characters have the healthiest relationship, the premise of voice acting and folk pop music was new and super fun to watch and listen to. I’ve never listened to any folk pop music before this show, but I was genuinely loving every song in this show (P.S. i have all the songs from this show added to a playlist on Spotify luls). They were massive foodies, which didn’t help me as I was watching the show. It made me always crave food when they described recipes or he was whipping up a dish.
My review of this show lost a point only because I felt the character’s romance stayed very stagnant close to the end and not much was changing. Also, with the random time skip I felt like the ending was rushed. It felt like it was supposed to have a 40 episode run, but the show was cut short.
This show, all in all, was just pure fluff with a new fun premise of voice acting and folk pop music, with a lot of food added in to create a unique wholesome romance.
In my opinion, it's a must-watch if you love romance shows with little to no misunderstandings, no love triangles and pure fluff romance <3.

[ID: Slightly larger than life-sized bronze statue of a bearded man. He has a realistic face and oversized, square shoulders and exaggerated, angular hands bigger than his face. There is an animal mask motif on his clothing. End ID]
As much as I adore this handsome statue, he’s not from the Shang dynasty!
He is a contemporary depiction of Cheng Tang (the founder of the Shang Dynasty) at the entrance of a Zhengzhou City Museum exhibit.
You can tell he's not from the Shang Dynasty a few ways:
The human depiction
Human depictions during the Shang dynasty are rare. People didn’t really make big shiny statues of their leaders all that much. Or if they did, the art didn’t survive to today.
A lot of the artwork that did survive from the Shang dynasty comes from graves, especially the tomb of Fu Hao (a military general and priestess). Most of the bronze artifacts found in graves are cauldrons and wine vessels; not human statues. Important people did have attendants accompany them to the afterlife, but instead of statues, real people and animals were sacrificed.
There are some depictions of humans, but they look like this (sighted folks, click the alt text for details about each piece):
The casting method
Early Shang bronzes were cast in sectioned moulds. You’d carve the design you wanted into slabs of clay and then pour the bronze in. Then, you’d crack the mould sections off and reuse them to make matching sets. Sometimes people also added little decorative wings (flanges) to the seams.
Here’s a diorama from the Zhengzhou City Museum of what that might’ve looked like:
I think this handsome man was probably made with a hollow lost-wax method instead, which was used more in the later Shang and Zhou dynasty. The statue has finicky detailing like the ears that lost-wax is better at capturing. Also there’s no visible seams (though, to be fair, there are bronzes with perfectly concealed seams from the Shang dynasty). Disclaimer that I'm really not that well versed in casting techniques.
The art style
His face is quite realistic. You know the terra-cotta warriors from the Qin dynasty? His face is more reminiscent of that time period. Shang artwork is more abstract and geometric. Here’s some examples of animals with abstract detailing.
You caught me. This section was mostly just an excuse to show you some cool bronzes.
Also, the statue isn’t behind glass
Anyways.
I think this statue is really neat! His small head, oversized limbs, and flat dimensionality looks kind of like a Corporate Memphis art style...but with Shang motifs and coloring. The statue reminds me a bit of Ren Xiong’s self portrait from the Qing dynasty, which has an extremely realistic western-style face and expressive, abstract brushwork for his clothes. This statue's realistic face, combined with Shang and Zhou bronze patterns, intentionally oxidized coloring, and exaggerated, square proportions is a little bit jarring. Like he’s seesawing between old and new.
Sources
Big thank you to the Zhengzhou City Museum and the National Museum in Beijing for caring for these artifacts and to Professor Garry Lee Todd for taking all the photos in this reblog as well as the original post photo. He has hundreds of museum photo tours on his website.

trying to request a ride for half an hour but still no driver has picked up the order, the driver looking down and finding that the order assigned
the passenger, discovering that the system is abnormal and trying to cancel the order but still can't...
Of course, some drivers also encountered an "unexpected surprise": they woke up after a night's rest and found that the HE Tuber income in their account exceeded 60 billion... You know, Cheng Wei's total personal wealth whenwent public was only 29 billion.
If Didi’s outage remains popular because online ride-hailing is very close to people’s lives and is used frequently, then the impact of the large-scale Alibaba Cloud outage on November 12 is even worse. Already: Alibaba’s Alipay, Taobao, DingTalk, and Alibaba Cloud Disk are indispensable applications for mobile payment, online shopping, online office, and cloud storage scenarios respectively.
When these applications are all paralyzed, people’s work, life, and Shopping may have to be paused.
What is even more worrying is that on November 27, Alibaba Cloud's cloud database console in some regions experienced access anomalies again, only half a month after the large-scale outage on the 12th. Two outages occurred in a short period of time, which is a serious problem for the entire cloud computing industry.
Even if the timeline is further relaxed, outages among major Internet companies have occurred quite frequently in the first half of this year.
On March 29, QQ and WeChat failed one after another, and many functions such as payment, voice calls, Moments, and QQ Space were used abnormally. Tencent characterized this as a first-level accident, including Lu Shan, President of the Technology Engineering Business Group, and WeChat Business Group Several senior executives, including Vice President Zhou Hao, were criticized internally. Coincidentally, Vipshop also suffered a P0 level outage on the same day, and the head of the basic platform department was dismissed as a result.
Secondly, the simultaneous occurrence of frequent outages, long-term cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and large-scale layoffs inevitably makes people suspect that there is some subtle connection between the two.
To judge whether this statement is reasonable, we must first understand the cause of the cloud server outage.
Generally speaking, the reasons for server downtime can be divided into two categories. One is human failure, such as system failure, design loopholes, and short-term overload operation. The other is non-human factors such as extreme weather and temporary power outages in the area. The outages of Vipshop, Tencent and Alibaba Cloud are typical human faults. The direct cause of the three incidents is that the abnormality of the cooling system in the computer room caused the equipment temperature to heat up rapidly. This is also the most common cause of failure in the industry.
Generally speaking, no or non-human factors can be completely avoided, disaster recovery and disaster preparedness plans are necessary. Alibaba Cloud also admitted in its subsequent response that the failure to handle the accident site in a timely manner caused the sprinkler system to be triggered, and the failure to release fault information in a timely manner were important reasons for amplifying the impact of the outage.
It was this response that led some people in the industry to uncover problems: downsizing staff
laying off high-paid senior programmers, and relying too much on young people. no emergency and preventive measures such as dual-machine hot backup plans, backup computer rooms, and multi-node clusters. , are one of the reasons for exacerbating the impact of downtime - and are also the sequelae of cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
In response to the above speculation, major manufacturers have not responded positively, but there may be no reason for the groundless speculation. And coincidentally, Didi, which just experienced a "frightening night", also experienced a round of layoffs last year involving almost all departments such as product technology and ride-hailing teams. It is reported that the number of employees involved is about 3,000, and the proportion is as high as 25%. .
One thing is certain: senior technicians not only have guaranteed professional skills, they can identify system vulnerabilities more accurately and quickly, and have more experience in handling on-site faults. Frequent outages are believed to have made major manufacturers realize the importance of improving infrastructure, increasing disaster recovery and
preparedness plans, and cultivating high-end technical talents. However, the impact of two consecutive years of cost reduction and efficiency improvement and several downtimes on its reputation, as well as the negative impact on customers and upstream and downstream partners in the industry chain, may be difficult to completely eliminate. It is still unknown whether major manufacturers will change their cost reduction and efficiency improvement policies as a result.
3. In 2024, can cost reduction and efficiency improvement come to an end?
The impact of cost reduction and efficiency improvement by large manufacturers on customers and partners is multifaceted.
First of all, of course, downtime events seriously affect the daily operations of corporate customers, especially those small and medium-sized enterprises that do not have the financial resources to make their own disaster preparedness and emergency plans.
Official data shows that Alibaba Cloud has more than
