Keep Monsterland White
"Hello, the Daleks are stirring up trouble again..."
Daily Mail cartoon by Stanley Franklin (c. 1965)
This is surprisingly biting commentary on racism in 1960s Britain. Daleks are normally used for comedy in these types of cartoons.
I wonder if the artist knew the Daleks were an allegory for Nazis/race supremacy, or if he came to that conclusion on his own.

Haven't been motivated to draw much lately so I decided to draw myself a new doctor who sona as a bit of a runway into art again! :) this was actually super fun to do!
This is Kivee! Kivee is a Zarbi research scientist on Vortis, often tracking their migration patterns and their work, also making sure they don't get too close to the city of the Menoptra.
Kivee being dull colored and smaller compared to most Menoptra in the city makes her less appealing as a mate and overall as an individual, however, this does not bother her much. Kivee is more of a recluse, often keeping to her books, writing, or flying around and tracking the stars in the sky. Kivee often enjoys finding new things and learning any sources of material she can get her hands on. Out of the few friends she has on Menoptra, she would consider Hedyla (from Big Finishes Return to the Web Planet audio) to be her closest friend, although after Hedyla and her father moved out to the outlands, she grew a bit more distant, yet visited as often as she could, helping Hedyla construct plans for her wings.
When Hedyla and her Father finally returned to the city after the issue with the Zarbi was resolved, Hedyla introduced Nyssa and the Doctor, Kivee became fascinated with both of them but took interest in Nyssa imparticular for her smarts and kindness, Nyssa was able to help Kivee learn a few things about Biochemistry before her and the doctors departure from the planet Vortis. This knowledge now helps Kivee with her latest research with the Zarbi, as well as the Doctor being kind enough to spare a few books from the TARDIS Library to aid in the future study of the Zarbi.
Kivee is considered to be Ace/Sapphic and they go by She/They :)

Stops sipping at his grande nonfat no whip pumpkin spice latte for a moment to stare at a large xmas tree, erected in the middle of the city.
The lights spiral and glitter through the baubled branches, It's quite mesmerizing.

The funniest thing about The Mind of Evil is that the Doctor is terrified of the fucking Zarbi. Out of all the other motherfuckers they could've picked and it was the clumsy 'oops I've walked into the camera' giant ant bastards that made the cut.

60 Years of Doctor Who Anniversary Marathon - Pertwee 5th Review
Doctor Who: Infinity (The Orphans of the Polyoptra) - Video Game
So Doctor Who: Infinity is a spiritual successor to the Doctor Who:Legacy game that I covered earlier in the marathon. And just like that previous game, this one too was no longer available to buy. I guess the BBC just doesn’t like to make money or something.
Once again I downloaded the apk file to play on an emulator and tried out the free tutorial to get a feel of the game play. It’s similar to Legacy, in that you move orbs around the board to match colors, but that’s it really.
The game play feels really paired downed from the last entry. Rather then trying to strategize with a custom party, abilities, and trying to find the best move set that works for you; you’re instead giving a single objective each round to complete. Gather blue orbs, match orbs around this one item, avoid this obstacle ect.
It’s really rather repetitive in the worst way and feels very tacked on. The challenges just exist as roadblocks for the story rather than the story existing to the support the game play. So much so that you can even choose to skip the game segments all together in the option menu if you want.
After all, you’re really here for the story.. or stories in this case.
One improvement that Infinity has over Legacy is in the story department. Rather than having a long drawn out single story, with no end in sight; Infinity opts to have shorter standalone stories that you can play in any order.
This is the better approach to on going online games in my humble opinion. The stories are better paced, presented, and self contained so your not wasting hours trying to get an ending that won’t ever come.
Basically I appreciate the idea, even if the game play is lacking.
Overall, Infinity is a well executed series of motion comics, complete with voice acting and music, that happen to have optional game play mechanics. Which makes you wonder why they just didn’t make a bunch of motion comics to begin with.
As for this particular entry, The Orphans of the Polyoptra, it’s okay. It’s nice to get a sequel for the Web Planet but it’s kind of by the numbers. Not bad, but not super exciting as well.
