Mister Blue waits for her, but Yumine can't bring herself to escape with Maria's horse. She couldn't leave her friend behind to fend off her handler!

And he knows it. The way he isn't even bothered by Maria's threat. Instead, he smirks, knowing damn well what choice Yumime even had.

She had none.

"Maria....,"

And he thinks he has her wrapped around his finger. Yumine reaches to tug on the ends of Maria's clothes and looks at her. "We will fight together. I...I will not run."

It wasn't what he had hoped to hear from her.

You think I won't hurt your loved ones then?"

He was capable of it. He was the kind of person that went through with what he promised...At least it was what Yumine had been trained to believe. Still, if she fought alongside Maria then perhaps they had a chance.

"Did you hear me? If you touch a hair on her head — or anybody she holds dear, for that matter — then you'll be pushin' up daisies so fast that people'll think you're a florist."

Maria draws the Calamity Rifle. It faintly smells of fire and brimstone. She takes aim at the man's chest, but doesn't pull the trigger. Not yet.

"Yumine, you get outta here. I can deal with him," she says.

She nods at her horse, but what Yumine decides to do is ultimately up to her.

A trembling hand rises and is then placed on top Ramattra's that found its place still on her shoulder. The squeeze is light. As light as she can make it considering. They were almost what people were would call TWO SIDES THE SAME COIN. Or perhaps a yin and yang. They had both been mistreated by humans but in such different ways. While she had the kindness of those people who she called family, Ramattra had constantly been given despair.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't...." the damage she had caused from the sheer amount of emotion she felt for Ramattra only continued to dance like an irritated flame.

She could stare at the wall for as long as she could, but there is something pulling her away from said damaged wall and toward the person standing near but behind her. Yumine finally looks. Through his own eyes, she looks pass her own face and she looks right through to Ramattra. "I'm sorry..." it wasn't enough. It would never be enough. Yumime knew that feeling while she was in here that no amount of apology, no amount of punishment would be enough.

Wouldn't it have been hypocritical of her to even think of Ramattra as cruel? Should things have been different---if those humans had chosen a different path then Ramattra wouldn't have all of his people. He wouldn't have been left with so much rage and anguish. She knew that feeling well enough. Not to the level of what Ramattra was dealt with, but not a day had gone by where she didn't think about taking care of the problem and being free. Going back to the home she felt safe and free. She couldn't judge Ramattra.

"I understand why..." She wanted to understand then and thought she truly did understand when he spoke about his past to her. This was NOT what she had envisioned his life to be.

"I tried so hard to get you to see and understand that there are good humans out there." And truly there were. Ramattra would have seen them through her memory. Still, she shakes her head, "but I understand that something like that would be so....so impossible to see."

And his wrath scared her.
