My NYCC 2023 cosplay! I've been wanting to make Link's Glide Suit since the game came out, and sure, it was horribly complicated to make, but I had fun. Also featuring this awesome Rauru cosplayer I found who goes by Mochiany on youtube and tiktok.

Wearing a backpack would have interfered with the wings, so I made a detachable backpack that clipped to my shoulders. The cowl also pulled up into a facemask.

I just barely finished making this whole thing because of a series of setbacks. I was still painting it the day before I left for the con.

Randomly remembered all those times someone on a forum or wherever would ask, like, "if your comic was ever turned into a movie or a tv-show, what would you want it to be like", and I was always spewing something about obvious answers like Fortiche or whatever

BUT ACTUALLY. That's wrong.

The correct answer is that I would want it to be filmed as one of those film-student-project fan movies. Where no one has any money and their camera isn't stabilized and the 'sets' are all local buildings but everyone is very committed to making it work with what they have. And all the actors are friends or classmates or someone's parents and therefore look especially real and human.

i always forget that not everyone has the same worldview as me and my friends circle. chatted a bit with one girlie today about cosplays and mentioned my cousin's girlfriend (they're gay) who makes costumes on her own and only after she got confused and asked again who exactly is the person i'm talking about i realised that gay people aren't something that would cross the mind of an average polish person and that's why she needed a confirmation that i actually said what i said. very bizzare

Rising sign Observations~ pt2

Aries risings are usually seen as go getters and always on the move. It’s rare to find these people in the house & they are far from homebodies (depending on their chart however with Taurus and cancer they can be less active) but most are always going to some event or trying some sport out to stimulate their restless minds. Surprisingly these people tend to attract pretty healthy relationships with very pretty ppl (libra in the 7th). This is probably the best rising sign to have because all the signs are in their proper house! (Ex; Aries in 1st, Taurus in 2nd, Gemini in 3rd…. You get the picture). These people have a natural confidence and and endless amount of energy that can get them far in life. However if not kept in check these people can be veryy impulsive. especially with their finances so it’s smart to think before you make a decision cuz they can be quite rash when they are excited. I’ve also seen these people can be very distant emotionally at times from others or feel uncomfortable expressing vulnerability. But overall these people definitely know how to get shit done. They tend to marry very wealthy and attractive partners. If afflicted their partners can be narcissistic and greedy with their possessions. I also notice these people tend to have nice heads (especially for being bald or pixie cut) and they usually have a wider forehead (ex; Rihanna)

Taurus risings usually come off as very laid back and chill. I haven’t met a lot of people with this rising sign but from the people I’ve observed these people are BOUJEE. They usually have really good fashion sense and are always up to date on the latest fashion trends. A lot of big models have this risings sign (Gigi Hadid). They appreciate the finer things in life such as luxury clothes, vacations, high end food ect. They will romanticize tf outta their life even if they don’t have much money they will live like they are in a vogue model in NYC lol. These people have a very quiet magnetism to them, they can literally attract people to them by just sitting their looking pretty. SO JEALOUS lol. Their easy going carefree natures are very charming and many people feel comfy in their presence. If afflicted these people can be very materialistic and have a bad relationship with food I notice (either binge eating or not eating at all). Overall very naturally beautiful people. Aquarius risings are usually super hot but the shit that comes out of their mouth will have you like “???” Lmao. Usually shockingly attractive but very quirky with a strange sense of humor. They are either really easygoing and popular or they’re like aliens coming from another planet. They can come off as kinda ditzy as lost like Pisces risings but the only difference is these people are actually very aware of everything and usually crazy smart. I knew someone with this rising sign who can barely keep a convo going but had like a 4.0 in their college GPA. Since they’re also ruled by Saturn these people are hard workers and usually had to grow up pretty early in life. I know many didn’t have it too easy in their childhood and had to fend for themselves (like cap risings). A lot of people with this placement are into anime and cosplay I notice. Also these people are usually SO TALL. They have such long model like limbs and are usually have really thin nice bodies. Could’ve been seen as unattractive when younger because of how unique their features were and then grew into their looks as they got older. Lastly Leo risings are seen usually as very charismatic and has the ability to charm the pants off of anyone. The things they say are really entertaining to listen too and most have really good humor. They enjoy entertaining people and making people laugh. This is why they usually really enjoy parties and social gatherings. These people can have fragile egos and usually exaggerate traits about themselves to seem cooler or more interesting. They can get jealous if someone is getting more attention than them and get a little competitive. They value their reputation a lot so they will make themselves seem grand and flashy if they’re trying to impress you (most Leo risings are lowkey shy and awkward but they use a confident mask to hide that most of the time). Violet knows about the concept behind a "hear me out" cake, but all of her contenders are fairly tame. The 1996 version of Lara Croft would probably be her wildest "hear me out".

Elanor genuinely believes Angel wants to talk to her about a specific kind of cake, and will set enough time aside to listen to them. Once she understands, she'll likely only consider the antagonists from ACOTAR as the characters they'd put on the cake.

Conan also has no idea what it is. He'll suggest using one of the library computers to research more about this "elusive" cake — and might even offer some of his personal coffee blends to pair with it.

Jae has already done the trend multiple times with Leon and has saved every single video on his phone. He's probably studied them at one point to figure out what Leon's ideal type is gksdgdj

Leon didn't understand it at first but got the idea once Jae started showing him pictures of GLaDOS and Wheatley from Portal. The fish from Finding Nemo was a genuine surprise to him, though.

Rin had come home early from practice. As soon as he opened the door he heard strange noises coming from the living room. When he walked in he found you sitting on the floor trying to shape a large piece of cardboard. The room was a mess with hot glue guns paints fabric scraps and oddly shaped foam pieces scattered everywhere

“What are you doing?” Rin asked with a curious expression. You looked up at him. With a smudge of paint on your face and messy hair you smiled brightly. “I’m working on a new cosplay. This is going to be a piece of armor” you said holding up the cardboard. Rin raised an eyebrow. “Armor? That thing needs a lot of work before it even looks like armor.”

“Don’t tease me!” you retorted. “This is just the base layer. It still needs painting hardening and detailing. Rin chuckled. “Alright alright. But why does the entire house look like a battlefield? Do you even know what you’re doing?”

Though you looked a bit offended you could tell Rin was getting interested. “I watched some YouTube videos and read a few guides. It’s a bit challenging but I’m learning. Plus it’s fun”

Rin sat down next to you and picked up the piece of cardboard you were working on. “If you’re going to put in this much effort at least do it properly. You need to cut this cleanly with a craft knife” he said grabbing a knife and showing you how to do it

After that day Rin couldn’t help but get involved in your project. Sometimes he’d point out mistakes saying “You’re doing it wrong” and other times he’d grab a paintbrush to help you add finishing touches

When the cosplay was finally ready you put it on and showed Rin the completed look. As you posed excitedly you noticed the surprised look on his face. “Alright” he said after a moment “I thought it was silly at first but… it actually looks really good”

“Really?” you asked your eyes sparkling with hope. Rin shrugged. “Maybe. But after all that effort I guess I can’t say anything against it.” At the convention your armor caught everyone’s attention. People stopped you to take pictures and compliment your work. Rin stood a step behind you a small smile on his face keeping an eye on the crowd to make sure no one crossed any boundaries

Sae Itoshi

when you first mentioned your passion for cosplay he didn’t think much of it. “Cosplay? You mean dressing up as fictional characters?” he asked one day his tone calm but slightly curious “Exactly!” you replied with excitement. “It’s a lot more than just dressing up though. I design the outfits build props and sometimes even compete. It’s a hobby but it means a lot to me”

Sae gave a small nod. “If it’s important to you that’s fine. Just don’t expect me to dress up” You laughed at his response knowing it was his way of acknowledging your interests without diving too deeply

A few weeks later you were preparing for a convention. Your living room was a workshop with fabric glue guns and foam scattered everywhere. Sae walked in and paused his sharp gaze taking in the scene “You’ve been at this for hours” he commented setting his bag down

“Yup” you said not even looking up from the detailed painting you were doing on a prop. “The convention is in two days and I want this to be perfect” Sae sighed softly walking closer. “Does it really need to be this detailed? No one’s going to notice if it’s off by a little”

You shot him a playful glare. “Oh they’ll notice. Trust me cosplayers have an eye for detail” He didn’t reply but leaned down to pick up one of the finished pieces. “It’s impressive” he admitted after a moment. “I didn’t realize you made all of this yourself”

The day of the convention Sae offered to drive you there. As you stepped out of the car in your fully completed costume he couldn’t help but let his eyes linger for a moment. You looked stunning the outfit perfectly capturing the character you were portraying “You’re really into this aren’t you?” he said his voice softer than usual “I am” you replied with a bright smile. “And I love it”

At the convention Sae stayed in the background watching as people approached you for photos and compliments. He observed the way your face lit up every time someone admired your work. Despite his usual stoic demeanor he felt a subtle sense of pride

Later as you both sat down to eat he spoke up. “You’re talented. I don’t think I could have the patience to do something like that” You grinned. “Coming from you that’s a big compliment.” Sae smirked faintly. “Don’t let it go to your head”

Kaiser Michael

“You dress up as fictional characters and make all this stuff yourself?” he asked, spinning one of your half-finished props in his hand like it was a trophy.“Yes, Michael” you replied, rolling your eyes at his tone. “It’s not just dressing up. It’s crafting, designing, and bringing something I love to life. And no, you can’t break that it took hours to make”

Kaiser smirked and placed the prop back carefully. “Relax. I’m just admiring your… creativity” A few days later, he strolled into the room while you were sewing fabric for your next costume. His golden hair was slightly tousled, and he leaned casually against the doorway, watching you work. “So, when’s this big event of yours?”

“This weekend” you answered, not looking up from your work “Perfect. I’ll clear my schedule” he said with a grin. You looked up at him, surprised. “You’re coming?”

“Of course” he said as if it were obvious. “I have to see how good you are at this. Besides, you’ll need someone to make sure your fans don’t get too close”

The day of the convention, Kaiser arrived in style, dressed impeccably as always. When he saw you in your finished cosplay, his usual cocky smirk shifted into something softer. “I’ll admit” he said, circling you like a critic. “You look incredible. Almost as good as me” “Almost?” you teased, raising an eyebrow “Fine” he said with a mock dramatic sigh. “You look better than me for now”

At the convention, Kaiser stayed by your side, his presence impossible to ignore. People stared as much at him as they did at you, but he didn’t seem to mind. Whenever someone asked for a photo with you, he’d step aside, arms crossed, observing like he was the one managing your image

“You know” he whispered at one point as you posed for a group shot. “You should’ve told me earlier. I’d have joined you in costume. Imagine us as a power duo unstoppable” You laughed, shaking your head. “This is my thing, Michael. You already have football”

“But you’re my girlfriend” he said with a wink. “That makes everything you do my thing too” By the end of the day, you were exhausted but happy. Kaiser drove you home, still talking about how “you stole the show” and how “everyone was lucky to witness your brilliance”
