I've read Heated Rivalry like 10 times in the last two months and I was like this is a new level of hyperfixating, even for me.

BUT THEN I REMEMBERED.

At another time in my life when real life was too hard, I had another, even bigger obsession:

Crash Landing On You

In March of 2020, when the world fell apart, I let myself fall so deeply into this show - in love with the beautiful actors, the funny script, the poignant moments that made me cry my eyes out, the brilliant soundtrack - that I let it completely take over my life.

I made like everyone I know watch it and live blog their thoughts for me. To this day, I still have some of those texts up on my fridge.

It was the escape we all needed in March of 2020 when *gestures vaguely* everything else was too much. It is the perfect show. Perfect. 10/10 no notes.

Never ever have I seen a pair of characters start out quite this stiff and annoying, and become one of my all time favourite, hot and deeply romantic couples on TV. I love them so much, and now this meet cute is funny rather than cringey.

I've been obsessed with Korean dramas since a few years, and this drama was one of the best I've ever watched.

Only after I watched this series I found out they are married irl AND have a child!!! I cried more after that because they found love while they were acting~~

I love the fact that their drama chemistry was so pure that they actually started developing feelings! You can see it in their eyes during the drama- it's pure love...

My dad’s reaction toward “Crash Landing on You”

Before watching it: “This looks interesting, but you know how I feel about romantic drama shows. I watch it just because it’s super popular.”

When he started watching it: “This is perhaps one of the best Eastern Asian shows I’ve ever watched.”

Throughout the whole show: “Gu Seung-jun is the best character. He’s so perfectly written in every way, and that Kim Jung-hyun did well portraying him.”

At the end of the show: “That ending is garbage and I won’t ever forgive them for killing Gu Seung-jun.”

After was done watching it: “I want– no, I need you to write me a fix-it fic, Elle.”

Hong hae in , Do do Hee, yoon se ri meeting at a BUSSINESS CEO meeting or something and then staying together talking about their husbands. I am imagining things.

After those two weeks together a whole year goes by before they find each other again in the green mountains under the clear sky.

As Jeong-Hyeok waits for hours, his smile fades into a sad expression of realisation, of course, it was obvious at some point she would move on, that's why she is not coming alone this time, it'd be easier to face it and accept it that way, how clever of her.

"I'm sorry this complicated things... it just happened, I should have been more careful".

He looks away as his eyes glisten, stays silent and just nods, he didn't want to stare for longer at the pretty picture of the perfect family he'd never get to have.

"Aren't you happy?"

No words, he shrugs, it was sort of cruel.

"But you told me you wanted twins".

Shock replaces his defeated expression, and then regret for having doubted about her, and for not being present but he had had not other option.

Then finally joy, with his string arms he holds his family, he has to make plans, decisions, later. For now, that second in time is the only one that matters.
