I also think it's hilarious that this batch of three chapters deal with some kind of tragic love but Ishmael's wlw swag makes it so she's the only one who actually got it in the bag

Like Heathcliff's whole thing is that Cathy did not accept to marry him due to being seen as lowly and breaking his heart so bad it sent him down this path and Yi Sang and Dongbaek get all of these romantic-coded scenes and symbolism to the point you could interpret Dongbaek's final words both in the dungeon and after her boss as a dying love confession (specially since red camellias in korean flower language mean "I love you more than anyone else") but nothing implies they ever actually became a thing and the story doesn't ellaborate on that overtly instead focusing on the League as a whole and the concept of trust

And over here Ishmael has all of these beautiful moments with Queequeg to the point they were planning a future together and basically just a a few steps away from getting gay married and losing Queequeg the biggest reason she hates Ahab so much. It's the redhead who's got game if it wasn't for The Whale

Jin I Soo and Lee Ganghyun go from bickering like kids to comforting each other at their lowest. Ganghyun goes from telling him to go home to texting him to come to the station because they got a new case. Ganghyun takes Jin I Soo to her comfort place so that he can clear his mind after learning the truth about his mother's death. I Soo saying "You trust your father, and I trust you" to Lee Ganghyun when she was on probation and desperately wanted to prove that her father was innocent and that he was framed. Ganghyun scolding him because he put himself in danger and I soo trying not to repeat that. And most importantly what about the fact when they almost drowned together while trying to arrest Bori?? What are you gon say about Jin I soo cupping her face and telling her to believe in herself when she told him that she couldn't swim ??? Carrying her over the water the entire time she was unconscious while he was struggling to breathe and stay over the water himself. Are the writers really going to do us like that?? T_T

The way Hyun-su called Sang-won a parasite in s2 without knowing how accurate he was....priceless. Because, essentially, the dude really is just a parasite. And with his blood more variants were created. They were all kind of similar to him, when it comes to the way their "monster side" worked, but not the same, since Sang-won's monsterization was still part of evolution. Personally, I think that black glibber is the monster version of Sang-won already. He lacked empathy the same way monster!Hyun-su lacked it. But they are not the same, since Hyun-su fought against the full transformation and Sang-won didn't. Technically, he could've become an actual neohuman, had he not been so damn afraid of that change.

Yi-su on the other hand not only had the monster infested blood in her since the moment Yi-kyung conceived her, but also whatever the hell part of himself Sang-won infected her with to find her again.

And it's funny how Yi-su's power is to transform people into monsters or zombie-like creatures/she can grow into any age with her black glibber natural form, when Sang-won's blood had the same superpower. Like father, like daughter. And both variations were loyal. Those infected with Sang-won's blood and the ones Yi-su created.

So while some people turn into a huge protein monster or a long figure with integrated human-juice straw, Sang-won was just some parasite. Fitting, seeing how he was a scientist and all....

Look, I'm not gonna lie. I started this drama for a very superficial reason: Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang are one of the most gorgeous couples I've ever seen. And tbh, that's one of the things that kept me watching until the end. The first half was pretty fun, thanks to their will-they-won't-they dynamic and some really funny supporting characters and recurring gags. Unfortunately, it began to drag around the middle part, and then it got more and more boring with each passing episode. By the time the final episode came out, I no longer cared about the plot, the characters or anything else (although the ending itself was quite nice). With all that in mind, I can't help but think My Demon would have worked much better as a movie.

   Dizi 12 bölümden oluşan zırıl zırıl bir dramı konu alıyor. Herkesten özür dileyerek ve tüm içtenliğimle söyleyebilirim ki hiç bana hitap etmedi. Öyle ki, izlerken ruhum daraldı, ufunetler bastı. Bir türlü “evet bu” diyeceğim noktaya gelemedim. Bunaldım, üzüldüm, daraldım, sıkıldım. Aslında daha en başından mutsuz sonla biteceği belli olan birçok dizi izledim. Hiçbiri bu kadar gırtlağıma yapışmamıştı. Silah zoru ile izledim desem yeridir. Hiçbir yerde olumsuz eleştirisi olmayan ve puanı oldukça yüksek olan bu dizi için bu şekilde yorum yapmak zorunda kaldığım için üzgünüm.

Dizi 1980 yılının Mayıs ayında meydana gelen Gwangju Ayaklanmasını konu alıyor. Öncelikle bu diziyi izleyecekseniz çok kısa da olsa Gwangju Ayaklanması ile ilgili yazıları okursanız, izlemesi belki bir nevi daha kolay olur. Aslında birazcık bizim tarihimizde yaşanan 1980 öncesi Türkiye'si sağ-sol olaylarını anımsatıyor. Hwang Hee-Tae (Lee Do-Hyun), çok zeki bir Tıp öğrencisidir. Hemen hemen hiçbir konudan hoşlanmaz. Hayatını ‘Ön yargıya karşı bir savaşçı’ olarak tanımlar. Oyuncuyu ilk Hotel Del Luna’da izledim. Dizi içinde başka diziye spoiler vereceğim ama benim için kendisi Hotel Del Luna’nın ateş böceğidir. Hala gıyabında konuşurken ateş böceği diye bahsederim. Sonradan kendisini Sweet Home dizisinde de izlediğimden burada görmek benim için tanıdık bir yüz oldu. Karakterimiz bekar bir annenin çocuğu. Hayatı etrafındakilerin ön yargılarını kırmaya çalışmakla geçtiğinden misyonu da ön yargılar ile savaşmak. Bu savaş uğruna hep en çok çalışan, en başarılı olan kişi olmak zorunda kalmış. Ve neticesinde birincilik ile bitirebileceği Tıp okulunu hobisini bahane ederek uzatmıştır.

Lee Soo-Ryeon (Keum Sae-Rok ) ise zengin bir ailenin hukuk okuyan kızıdır. Ülkenin karışık olduğu bu dönemde üniversiteli öğrenciler komünist ilan edilmektedir. Soo-Ryeon ise darbeci yönetime karşı gelip protestolarda en önde yer alır. Ailesi onu bir an önce evlendirmek istese de asla evlenmek istemez. Karıştığı protestolardan biri artık bardağı taşırınca babası ona görüşmesi için birini ayarlar.

Kim Myung-Hee (Go Min-Si), Soo-Ryeon’un fakir arkadaşıdır. Üç yıldır hemşirelik yapan naif, sakin bir kızcağızdır. Eğitimi için paraya ihtiyacı vardır. Bu nedenle de izdivaç buluşmasına para karşılığında arkadaşının yerine gitmeyi kabul eder. Amaçları basittir, buluşma sırasında uygunsuz davranacak, ilişki başlamadan karşı tarafın olumsuz yorum yapmasını sağlayacaktır. Buluşacağı kişi ise Hee-Tae’dir. Hesaba katmadıkları şey ise Hee-Tae’nin daha önce onu görmüş ve görür görmez aşık olmuş olmasıdır.

Lee Soo-Chan (Lee Sang-Yi) ise Soo-Ryeon’un abisidir. Fransa’dan yeni dönmüştür ve uzun süredir Kim Myung-Hee’ye ilgi duymaktadır. Yani kendisi dizideki ilişkilerin kör düğüm olması için gereken son düğümdür. Oyuncuyu Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha da ikinci erkek rolünde izlerken baya keyif almıştım. Bu dizide de yine aynı rütbesini koruyarak kariyerine devam ediyordu.

Şimdi bu noktada, diziye ilk başladığımda bana hissettirdiği şey “Business Proposal” dizisinin o eğlenceli havası oldu. Biraz eğlenceli biraz gergin bir aşk izleyeceğimizi düşündüm. O kadar yanılmışım ki… Bütün bu hissiyatım 2.bölümde su balonu gibi patladı. Bir anda dizisinin havası sanat filmlerinin o ağır melodramatik rengine büründü.

Lee Do-Hyun ve Go Min-Si ; “Sweet Home” dizisinde abi kardeş rolünde olmalarına rağmen bu dizide umutsuz aşık rolünü sırıtmamışlardı. Gel gelelim dizi her bölüm o ağırlaştırılmış havasını arttırmaya devam ettiği için ben çöktükçe çöktüm. Olaylar derinleşti, savaş çirkinleşti. İnsanların mücadeleleri alevlendi. Masum insanların çaresizlikleri yuvarlana yuvarlana büyüdü. Bütün olayların ortasında yanlışlıkla bir araya gelmiş bir çift olarak kaldılar. Hakkını arayan masum insanların katledilmesi bende üzüntüden çok buhrana neden oldu. Dizide çekilen sahnelerin bir çoğu tarihte günümüze ulaşan fotoğraflardan sahnelenmiş. Belki kendi tarihimiz olmadığı için bilmiyorum, bizim olaylarımıza bu kadar benzemesine rağmen ben ağlayamadım.

Ve mutsuz son tabi ki… yani bunu spoiler olarak düşünemezsiniz bile, çünkü zaten ilk bölüm bittiğinde bu dizinin gidişatının hiç mutlu olmadığını herkes anlıyor. Günün sonunda özetlersek, diziyi kimseye önermem. Benim için kötü bir tecrübeydi.

Vergilius just walked into the orphan store and said "Give me your saddest little German boy." Sure, he's got that dog in him, but right now it's more like a kicked puppy.

A pencil-necked geek who has never thrown a punch in his life. Last seen jumping through a plate glass window in his backstory. How much enhancement did he have to get before he was even passable in combat?

Someone who has lived in luxury and ease his entire life. Still, he must've had a lot of time to practice with his guandao, and dude was in killer shape. Also, lest we forget, he is a rock. That's gotta count for something.

Pretty much the same deal as Yi Sang, but being connected to the Faust Group Chat gives her a lot of other options. She's the living embodiment of "I calculated the timing on all your attacks but my reflexes suck so you're gonna hit me anyway."

If we're measuring purely physical strength she'd probably be much higher, as it's implied she's almost freakishly strong (like when she manhandled Ishmael). But her lazy nature makes her a less effective fighter. Still, we've got to the first one with a confirmed pre-game kill count.

She's fought The Horrors and lived to make it everyone else's problem. One of the quickest to violence but not always the most effective at it. She's got grit, but she's still in the bottom half.

Can dish it out and take it. No formal training, but a lifetime of hard-won experience. Every inch of his skin tells a tale of violence. That said, his fighting style is still just that of a thug.

Points in his favor: Cockroach mutant, a battle-tested soldier

Points to his detriment: Doesn't like his powers, I know from firsthand experience how quickly you go to seed once you leave the service.

I wanted to put him higher to rep for us enlisted, but he was way too rusty.

Still wearing her uniform in her mugshot. She was likely arrested shortly after the...incident with the suitors, so she went straight from war to a hell voyage to a murder spree. That said, she's more known for her leadership and cunning than her actual personal battle prowess.

Speaking of coming straight from violence, jeeeezus couldn't they at least hose her off first? She's wearing a Shi Association uniform, so we know she was a professional assassin beforehand. Then, if she's like her inspiration, she was also basically a serial killer. Definitely earned her place in the top three.
