One week.
It’s been one week since Zayne laid those sharp, hazel eyes on you, and he’s going insane. At first, he was feeling pretty confident. You were upset and needed some space. Surely, you would message him sometime that day, asking to discuss things.
Wrong.
The second day, Zayne was still feeling confident, albeit less confident than yesterday. Leaving the apartment that morning, he notices you forgot your favourite necklace— the necklace he bought you for your one-year anniversary. Surely, you would be around to pick it up, and he would somehow catch you in the act.
Also wrong.
When he came home around 11pm that night, your necklace was still sitting on the dresser. To Zayne, the diamond looks slightly dull, or maybe that’s his teary foggy eyes. He resolves to have it cleaned tomorrow.
By day three, Zayne’s confidence in you returning is non-existent. Still no word from you, his mind races over all of the mistakes he’s made these past few months leading to this hiccup in your relationship. Looking back, it’s so fucking obvious. Not texting you daily, not taking days off, never telling you when he would be home, and not giving you his full attention even when he was at home. And it wasn’t solely because he was busy or tired. It was because he thought you could bear it.
Being a cardiac surgeon isn’t for the weak. Choosing this profession, he’s had to put much of his personal life on the back burner, especially when his work schedule got even busier than usual. But over the years, he’s learnt to grit his teeth and bear it. He enjoys it even. But why did he expect the same of you?
For the first time in Zayne’s life, he succumbs to temptation and tries his first energy drink. It tastes like medicine, grating and sour to the tongue. But nothing can compare to the flavour of your absence. Unable to sleep for the past several nights, he treks down to his local gas station and buys the canned arsenic.
Once the cardiologist gets home, he pops the tag and takes a sip. Recoiling with disgust, he finds the willpower to finish the 200 mL of poison. And now, he can’t sleep. The caffeine keeps him up well into the early hours of the morning, fuelling his attempts to type out an apology message.
I’m so sorry, darling. I want to make things right between us—
“No,” he groans, pressing ‘backspace’ with his pointer finger so hard he could crack the phone screen.
I’m so sorry, darling. I miss you terr—
My sincerest apolog—
I know that I’ve hurt you very deeply, my love. But if you’d be willing to give me another chance, I’d like to make things right between us.
Huffing, he deletes the message and throws his phone on his bed before heading to the bathroom to get ready for work.
As it hits Friday, one week after you left, Zayne is feeling confident. Confident that he can’t go on without you anymore. The energy drink catches up to him, and he almost falls asleep mid-consult. Finishing off with the patient, he has the rest of his appointments cancelled and dozes off in his office.
When he wakes, night has fallen. Gathering his bag and coat, he books it to his car and clicks ‘Start Route’ on his Audi’s GPS to Tara’s apartment complex. Once parked, he takes the elevator up to her apartment, mentally rehearsing everything he’s been meaning to say to you this past week.
…˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚…
You’re halfway through the new episode of your show when there’s a knock at the front door. It’s just you tonight, seeing as Tara’s out on a mission for the next couple of days. Throwing off your blanket, you stalk to the front door and stand on your tippy-toes to glance through the peephole.
“Go away, Zayne,” you grumble through the door.
He shifts closer, one hand on the wood as he declares, “No. I’m not going anywhere.” Groaning, you flip the lock and swing the door half open. He’s close, towering over you with dopey, wide eyes, which rake over your figure. You’re in his shirt, the sleeves rolled back and v-neck hanging off one shoulder. His gaze darts up to yours.
You sigh, “What is it?” Zayne steps back, putting some distance between you as he clears his throat.
“I’d like to talk,” he says clinically.
“Talk?” You bite back. “About what?”
“About us.”
You scoff, “I’m surprised you have the time. Don’t you have some emergency surgery to attend to?”
He shakes his head, saying firmly, “I took the night off.”
“Wow,” you say sarcastically. “Your first night off in months, and you choose to spend it with me. How thoughtful.” You roll your eyes, the pettiness bubbling up to the surface.
“Y/n.” Looking back at your boyfriend(? ex-boyfriend?), you take note of the knot in his brow. His scent wafts over to you, a mix of sweets, sweat, and… was that a Red Bull?
He sighs, “You have every right to still be angry with me after how I neglected you. But please, will you give me the chance to fix things between us?” You stare at him, thinking over his words. You’re about to respond when you notice the resident gym rat trying to sneak past. Reaching out, you grab Zayne’s forearm and tug him closer to you.
“Sorry,” you call past him.
Your neighbour mutters, “It’s fine,” as they dash off to their apartment. Hearing the click of their door, you release Zayne’s arm.
Gazing up, you huff, “Come in.” You push the door open wider with your back, standing against it and trying to make yourself smaller as the surgeon slips past you. It’s cosy inside: soft halogens, a warm vanilla candle going, and the low hum of your tv show.
“Take a seat,” you instruct, pointing to the couch. Leaving his shoes by the door, Zayne does as he’s told. His sleepy eyes are glued to you as you sit across from him, the too-big shirt sliding further down your shoulder. You must have recently showered, he thinks. Your skin is positively radiant and looks so smooth. The urge to touch you is unbearable, but he bears it. As long as he gets to speak to you, he’ll do anything.
“My eyes are up here,” you snap.
“Right,” he says quietly, heat rising to the tips of his ears. His heart rate accelerates as you two sit in almost silence for a minute.
Finally, Zayne apologises, “I’m sorry for ignoring you, darling.” Ooo, strike one. Your brow raises, and your eyes dart up and down his frame from the pet name. Fuck, no more pet names, he reprimands himself.
“You mean everything to me, and I was— I am— an awful partner for not reminding you of that every day,” he continues. Strike two. Bold of him to assume you’re still together. Not that you aren’t. You didn’t consider the sticky situation you would create for future you by walking out on him. But you appreciate his sentiment.
“I wish that I had taken the initiative to contact you earlier, and reassure you of your importance to me despite my busy schedule.” You nod, starting to like what you’re hearing. But by no means is he off the hook.
He sighs, “I took you for granted. Not because you’re not important. But I thought we could handle it. I thought you could handle my absence.” Strike three.
“What’re you saying?” You ask, your forehead creased and mouth twisted into a pout.
Zayne mumbles beneath his breath, “Fuck.” Pushing up his glasses, he clarifies, “What I mean to say is that I was ignorant of your needs, and my duties as your partner to fulfil those needs. I was unaware that you needed me to be more present in our relationship. And I was unaware of the toll my neglect took on you.” Better.
You prompt, “And so what’re you going to do about it? When it gets really busy, how are you going to make time for us?”
“Well,” he starts. “I’m going to communicate to you around what time I’ll be getting home, and make sure that if that changes, then I let you know. I’ll take a day off once a week, and we can spend it together. When you visit me at the hospital, I’ll be attentive to you. And if I can’t be, then I’ll tell you.” You hum, approving of his answer.
Zayne sighs, “But, I need you to communicate to me when you’re feeling dissatisfied in our relationship. If I’m very busy, then I want you to do whatever it takes to make me listen to you.” You chuckle. It’s short and soft, but it reinvigorates him the way an energy drink can’t.
“Whatever it takes?” You muse, your arms crossed underneath your chest, loosening.
He nods, “Yes. Grab me by the collar and give me an earful if you have to. Whatever you have to say to me, I want to hear it.” You gaze at him for a long moment, weighing up his apology and your pain. Your heart thumps in your chest, and your hands are becoming sweaty.
You pose the final question: “Why didn’t you come after me sooner? It’s been a whole week.”
Zayne avoids your eyes as he murmurs, “I… needed time to collect my thoughts as I’m sure you did.” He pauses before meeting your gaze.
“I love you, Y/n. I will always love you,” he states like it’s a fact and not a feeling. Like the only thing he’s sure of in this lifetime is his love for you.
Sighing, you slowly rise from the sofa opposite him. Stepping around the coffee table, you stand in front of him. He stares up at you, analysing all of the emotions in your eyes. They’re much gentler now.
He breathes out shakily, “Did I pass?” You smirk and run your hands through his hair, scratching at his scalp lightly and eliciting a soft sigh from him.
Zayne raises his hands slowly and reaches out for you tentatively. You give a small nod, urging him to touch you. When his cold fingers caress the back of your thigh, you shiver. They tremble as he palms your warm flesh and presses you into the space between his legs.
You giggle, “You scraped it by only one point.” His eyes almost pop out of his skull, and his jaw slackens— utterly mortified.
“O-one point?” He stutters.
You chuckle, unable to contain yourself, “I’m kidding, I’m kidding. By two points at least.” His head dips as he nuzzles your tummy.
He murmurs into his your shirt, “That’s my worst grade yet. Don’t you think you mark too harshly?”
Ruffling his hair, you quip, “No.” Your hands slide down to his shoulders and wrap around the back of his neck. His toned arms encircle your legs as he sighs into your warmth. All of the tension accumulating this past week dissolves beneath your fingertips, and Zayne finds himself rather tired. Yawning, he tenderly kisses your navel through the cotton fabric.
“Where’s Tara?” He asks lazily.
You chirp, “She’s on a mission. Won’t be back until tomorrow night.”
“Mhmm,” he hums. You two remain like that for a few minutes, content to enjoy these tender touches and each other’s presence.
Eventually, Zayne yanks you down onto his lap and cuddles with you. He murmurs sweet apologies in your ear as he strokes your thigh, twirling the hem of your shirt between his fingers. You rest your head against his shoulder and close your eyes, your hand on his heart. It beats steadily beneath your palm, a constant reminder that everything will be okay.
At some point, you doze off because when you open your eyes, you’re in Tara’s guest room. Morning sunlight streams through the curtains, and birds chirp in the distance. You stretch and turn your head to the side, eyes searching for a swathe of black hair and pale skin.
There’s no sign of Zayne. Not as you get out of bed and clean yourself up. Not even as you head to the kitchen and boil the kettle. Not until your phone pings.
You grab it, hoping that it’s him. And you grin as you pour boiling water into a mug with a tea bag in it, clicking on his message.

KINDRED — 40 (finale)
It’s your final year of highschool, and your only goal is to graduate top of your cohort, as usual. Except as student council president, your advisor can’t seem to leave you alone. What happens when you take Decelis Academy’s top student, their star athlete and put them in front of a camera?
written (2.7k words)
❥・• episode 40 — her entire being is lovable
Tumblr media
The week after Jungwon’s competition, the two of you slip back into the usual programming of studying together after school, despite the documentary having ceased filming. It's a curious irony, isn't it? Now liberated from the suffocating grip of your mother's expectations, free to pursue your own desires, yet you find yourself still tethered to your books, for she was right when she says you can’t go anywhere without decent grades.
You also don’t know what else to do in school besides studying. The library, with its quiet embrace, has become your refuge, a familiar haven and a place where you seek clarity amidst the chaotic excuse you call your current predicament. With your resignation as student body president, all that remains is the race against time until your college entrance exams.
"Y/N, sorry for being late!" Jungwon's voice breaks through the quiet murmur of the library as he settles beside you in your customary corner. You offer him a shy smile, basking in the familiar scent of his cologne that wraps around you like a comforting blanket.
"I finished a whole chapter waiting for you," you tease gently, knowing full well that he'll feel a twinge of guilt for keeping you waiting, only for you to feel bad for making him feel bad. And now you’re both feeling guilty and he’s demanding a kiss from you to make up for it.
"I never took you for the clingy type in a relationship, Yang Jungwon," you chuckle softly, playfully pushing a finger against his forehead to halt any public displays of affection in the holy vicinity of a public library.
"Yeah, well, I didn’t think you’d be rejecting my attempts at showering you with love when we’re a whole fortnight into dating," he pouts, his bag dropping to the seat beside you with a sullen thud. If one other thing did change aside from your relationship status, it would be the fact that Jungwon no longer sits across from you, but beside you. He insists it’s for practicality's sake, which to a certain extent you agree.
Truth be told, Jungwon just finds it distracting to be directly across from you, where he was in full capacity to be distracted by the beautiful features of your face. Not that the new arrangement helped anyway when he is still constantly reaching for your hand to hold, a silent plea for your touch that you gladly reciprocate.
“Why did the teacher hold you back anyway?”
"Couldn't believe my math grades improved so much; he thought I cheated on the recent quiz. Never thought I was doing so badly to make him doubt me that much."
"I mean… you were pretty horrendous," you quip with a grin, nudging him playfully. "Emphasis on ‘were’!" you add, teasingly, knowing he won't take it too seriously. He proves you right as he scoffs at your candid assessment of his past academic struggles. After all, deep down, you both know there's some truth to it...
"We have that final confessional with Producer Choi later today, right?"
"Yeah, can’t believe two months just flew by like that. Feels like just yesterday we were agreeing to only pretend to like each other." You snicker softly, sensing the irony in the situation now that you and Jungwon are in an official (not fake) relationship.
The irony is not lost on Jungwon as you catch his silent smile, knowing he, too, is lost in the memories of that pivotal moment, where pretence gave way to something real and profound.
"What's to say I'm not pretending right now?" Jungwon raises an eyebrow, eliciting an exaggerated gasp from you.
"Are you suggesting you still hate me?" you exclaim, feigning offence and playfully inching away from him on your chair. Jungwon's reaction is immediate, grabbing onto you as he pleads for you to stay, insisting he was only joking.
"So, you don’t hate me?" you inquire with mock seriousness.
"No, I would never!" He envelops you in a sideways hug, leaving you in a precarious position where, without his support, you'd probably topple off the chair, earning judgmental stares from every library patron within a half-mile radius.
With his arm around you, you gaze up at the finely sculpted features of his face, marvelling at how you ever found this man annoying in the first place. As Jungwon's fingers toy with the strands of thread hanging off your uniform blazer, a comfortable silence settles between you.
“When’s your confessional?” Jungwon's question breaks the serene silence, prompting you to glance at the clock and realise the time constraints you're under.
"I'll have to leave soon if I don’t want to be late. Your confessional is right after mine, yeah?" you confirm, already mentally preparing to make your move.
"Yep, I’ll meet you at the gate after, and we could go for some snacks!" Jungwon suggests with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
"Is this another one of your tricks to feed me into a coma so we don’t have to study?" you quip, raising an eyebrow in playful scepticism.
Jungwon feigns innocence, his grin widening. "Who, me? Never!" he replies, his tone dripping with sarcasm. You chuckle, knowing full well his penchant for indulging in snacks whenever the opportunity arises. But as you gather your things and prepare to leave, you can't help but look forward to the prospect of spending some more time with Jungwon, even if it means indulging in a few too many treats along the way.
You arrive promptly at the confessional venue, positioned strategically in the field right by the entrance of the school so the logo can be seen clearly in the background.  This meant people, a lot of them, stopping nearby to watch and observe the commotion as it's not every day you get to see a whole camera crew in the front yard of your school.
Spotting Producer Choi among the crew members, you make your way over and exchange greetings. "Y/N! It’s been a while, hasn't it?" she exclaims with a warm smile.
"It has," you reply, returning her smile as you exchange pleasantries with the familiar faces of the cameramen stationed around you.
"It felt weird not seeing you around after having seen you almost every day for the last 2 months. Strangely enough, I kind of missed it," you admit, though you sense a hint of scepticism in Producer Choi’s eyes, as she knows damn well you were the most excited for this documentary to end.
With a gesture from Producer Choi, you settle into the stool in front of the cameras, and the familiarity of the setting washes over you. It's strange how quickly this space has become a second home over the past few months, filled with the laughter of the crew members who have become like family. With that thought in mind, you mentally ready yourself to share your thoughts and reflections on the journey you've embarked on.
"First of all, thank you, Y/N, for agreeing to be a part of this documentary," Producer Choi begins as the camera lights turn red. You nod in response, feeling a mixture of nervousness and excitement coursing through you.
"Let’s start by having you share with the viewers how you felt about this journey," Producer Choi prompts, her voice gentle yet probing.
"Well, it’s not easy, that’s for sure," you begin, your words flowing more easily now that you've found your rhythm. "It was an experience that urged me to step out of my comfort zone and explore beyond a routine that I was already used to. It was difficult, no doubt, but the friendships that I’ve made along the way made this whole journey worthwhile. If I were to go back in time, I would do it again."
Producer Choi nods encouragingly, her eyes reflecting understanding and empathy. "If that’s so, tell us the most important thing you gained from this documentary."
"This experience was precious to me in many other ways than one," you continue, your voice growing more animated as you recall the memories. "But if I were to point out the most important thing I gained out of this documentary, it would be myself. It’s a little cringy, I know. It still amazes me how much I managed to change in this short period of time. But you know what they say, the best discovery starts within you, and you best believe I discovered."
The camera captures the sincerity in your eyes, the raw emotion shining through as you speak from the heart; a genuine reflection of your growth and transformation throughout the journey.
"Throughout the airing of ‘Kindred,’ the show has gained immense popularity among both domestic and global viewers, why do you think so?" Producer Choi asks, her tone shifting to a more analytical one.
"Honestly, the documentary was able to do well all thanks to Jungwon," you respond with a chuckle, thinking of your ever-charismatic boyfriend. "Without Jungwon, I genuinely think you guys would have produced the most yawn-bearing documentary to date. I acknowledge my lack of entertainment wits. There is also the whole strange pairing between Jungwon and I, even I admit that I’d be interested to find out how our very unique dynamics would work with each other."
The crew members share a knowing smile, having witnessed firsthand the magnetic chemistry between you and Jungwon that has captivated audiences around the world. It's a testament to the power of authenticity and genuine connection, something that can't be manufactured or scripted.
"Speaking about Jungwon, how has your relationship with him changed throughout the show?" Producer Choi inquires, her curiosity piqued.
"Jungwon is really special to me," you admit, a soft smile gracing your lips as you think of him. "I’m glad I got to properly know him through this experience. I’ll forever be grateful to ‘Kindred’ for bringing him into my life."
"Seems like there's something more to it, but I won't pry! But now that you’re graduating soon, what’s next?" Producer Choi prompts, her tone shifting to one of anticipation.
"Hmm… I’m not sure," you confess, feeling a pang of uncertainty creep in. "Ironic since you’d expect the girl with perfect grades to know what she wants to do. But I’m still working on that. Although, tutoring Jungwon made me realise how much I actually love teaching. May or may not consider pursuing it in the future, but we’ll see. I’m not in a rush anyway."
"Lastly, is there anything you want to say to the viewers of ‘Kindred’?"
"To all the viewers of Kindred, thank you for all the support and attention you gave us!" you exclaim, genuine gratitude shining in your eyes. "I’m glad you found some sort of joy going through this journey with Jungwon and I. It’s an experience I’ll hold close to my heart forever."
As the final words leave your lips, you can't help but feel a sense of closure wash over you. This chapter of your life, filled with ups and downs, laughter and tears, is coming to an end. But as you look back on the memories you've created and the relationships you've forged, you know that the impact of this experience will stay with you for a lifetime.
"By the way, will Jungwon be doing his interview here too?" you ask, curiosity tugging at you.
"Why of course," Producer Choi replies with a smile.
"Can I watch?" you inquire, eager to see Jungwon in the hot seat for a change.
"You don’t see Jungwon here now, do you? We got to play it fair, Y/N," she says with a wink as she scurries you away from the film site, leaving you with a sense of anticipation for Jungwon’s answers now that you know the questions that were being asked.
"What was your answer to the question?" you grab onto his arms, shaking it relentlessly trying to get him to fold, even equipping your signature puppy eyes. Jungwon, however, continues to chew on his food that both of you bought off a random street cart, and is now seated at the very same bench where you shared your first kiss.
“I’ll tell you if you tell me,” you consider revealing your answers but decide against it when you think back to your responses and visibly cringe.
Jungwon, ever the enigmatic one, simply smirks, his lips curling into a playful grin. His eyes sparkle with mischief as he toys with you, taking another casual bite of his street food as if your inquiry were nothing more than a fleeting thought.
You roll your eyes, knowing damn well the game he's playing. This teasing banter, a familiar exchange between the two of you, only adds to the playful dynamic of your relationship. But deep down, you can't help but wonder what his answer might have been.
“I guess we’ll only know when they broadcast it,” you shrug, resigning to the mystery as you lean your head on his shoulders. The warmth of his presence beside you, and the gentle rhythm of his breathing, all serve as a comforting anchor amidst the bustling street around you.
As Jungwon reaches over to play with the strands of your hair, a comfortable silence washes over you. The sound of distant chatter and the occasional honking of car horns fade into the background, leaving only the two of you in your own little bubble of tranquillity.
With a playful smile, you reach up to gently swat at Jungwon's hand, feigning annoyance. "Stop messing with my hair," you tease, though secretly enjoying the attention. Jungwon chuckles, his warm breath brushing against your cheek as he leans in closer.
"But it's so fun," he counters, his voice a mere whisper. You roll your eyes playfully, unable to contain your grin. "You're lucky I like you," you retort, leaning into his touch despite your mock protest.
Jungwon's laughter fills the air, a melodious sound that resonates deep within you. His genuine joy is contagious, spreading warmth and happiness with every moment you share.
"I know," Jungwon replies with a smirk, tightening his hold around you. "And I'm lucky to have you." You smile to yourself, the warmth of Jungwon's words enveloping you like a soft embrace. His ability to express his feelings so openly still catches you off guard at times, leaving you feeling both exhilarated and a little overwhelmed.
"You know, you have a way with words," you tease, lifting your head to meet his gaze. Jungwon's smirk widens into a full-blown grin, his eyes sparkling with affection. "Only when I'm talking to you," he replies, his voice filled with sincerity.
The sincerity in his words touches something deep within you, stirring a gentle flutter of emotions in your chest. Despite any doubts or uncertainties that may linger, there's a sense of reassurance in knowing that Jungwon is by your side, ready to face whatever challenges come your way.
You never fully comprehended why you felt so connected to Jungwon in the first place. Sure, you could say that anybody in your position—forced to film a documentary 24/7 with a decent-looking boy (though you’d rather die than admit this back then)—you were bound to catch feelings.
To you, Jungwon is more than just a forced proximity crush; he's an anomaly in your otherwise stoic and academic-focused life. An anomaly that got you so frustrated trying to figure out why he’s such a constant pain in your ass. An anomaly that introduced you to the world outside of the one your mother delicately crafted for you—holding you to unrealistic expectations that she knew damn well you could never meet no matter how much you tried.
He helped you understand that this life is a journey that you shape. That no matter what, mistakes are inevitable. You can give your everything and still somehow manage to fuck things up along the way. Yet, the beauty lies in the way you get to decide how you’re going to fuck up. And there’s no one you’d rather navigate these missteps with than Jungwon.
And while many would assume that a student council president with stellar grades and a Taekwondo athlete who can't study to save his life would never go well together, these assumptions are proven to be false as you realise the many similarities you share with Jungwon. Like how either of you will do anything for the people you care about and for the things you wish to achieve. You could say the two of you are Kindred.
As you rest against him, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath your cheek, you can't help but marvel at the depth of your connection, forged through peculiar circumstances.
With him, it doesn’t matter who you want or need to be.
With him, life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile.

Ara was sitting in her living room while her boyfriend was making dinner. She was on her phone, minding her own business when suddenly she felt a gush of something. Quickly, she stood up from the couch and speed walked to the bathroom.
Closing the door behind before locking it, she quickly pulled down her pants as she sat down in the toilet and saw a puddle of red on her undergarment. She quickly went to her basket and took out a new undergarment. Then she searched for a pad but couldn't find any. Realizing she forgot to buy some yesterday after cleaning the apartment.
Ara groaned in frustration, “Why did I forget?” Sitting in the toilet for a while before she sighed. She dared to call her boyfriend. “Ara, are you okay?” He answered right away. She took a deep breath before answering, “Jay, could you do a favor?” He hummed in response. “Sorry, if this is embarrassing, but could you go to the store and buy some…pads?”
“Of course, love, thin or thick?” He asked. “The thick ones and buy two bags of them, please.” She heard him walking to the front door. “Alright, anything else?” He asked as he put on his shoes and grabbed his car keys. “No, that will be it.” They said their goodbyes before ending the call.
Ara flushed the toilet before pondering over the thoughts and the embarrassment. She couldn't move or do anything since she didn't have any more pads. She wrote in her reminder to buy thin pads as soon as she noticed they were running out, too. Then she heard a knock on the bathroom door. “Love, I have the pads!” Jongseong shouted from the outside.
“Thank you, Jay. The door is open,” she said as she quickly moved her pants up so she wouldn't be too exposed. He opened the door and handed her the plastic bag. She shyly took it. He smiled before closing the door behind him. Ara then changed into a new undergarment and a pad. Wash her hands before organizing the pads into the basket.
Then, she walked out of the bathroom. Taking a deep breath before walking into the kitchen. In the kitchen, she spotted Jongseong making something. She took a seat on the island stool and rested her head on the counter. Her boyfriend turned around, and a soft smile appeared across his face. He settled the cup next to her before ruffling her hair. “You okay?” She hummed in response. “Cramps are coming.”
“Drink the hot chocolate I made for you.” She hummed in response before sitting back up and taking the cup into her hands. She sipped the hot chocolate as she watched her boyfriend go to heat the heating pad. “I don't deserve you,” she muttered while sipping in the cup. He looked at her. “No, I don't deserve you.”
She shook her before putting down the cup and the rest of her head on her arms. Jongseong smiled as he ruffled her hair. “I am almost done with cooking. After we eat, then we can cuddle or do whatever you want.” Ara hummed in response. He went to finish cooking dinner.
Once they finished eating, Ara helped a bit before her cramps got worse. Now, she was curled up in the warm blanket on the couch. She was watching the second episode of Love Next Door. Jongseong walked to the couch after finishing cleaning up. “Do you want me to warm up the heat pad again?” He asked as he put down some snacks and hot chocolate on the coffee table.
“If you want,” she answered as she took the heat pad from her lower stomach and handed it to him. He went to warm up the heat pad again. Once he came back, he gave her the heat pad, and she quickly put it back in place without any thoughts. Jongseong took a cup of hot chocolate before sitting down next to her.
“Here.” He handed it to her. She was about to take the cup, but her cramps hurt so badly that she messaged the lower part of her stomach again. Jongseong stood up again and went to the kitchen. Then he came back with a straw. He blew in the hot chocolate so it wouldn't be hot when drinking from the straw. He sat back down, holding the straw and the cup as he put the straw near her lips.
Ara took some sips as a smile grew on her face. “It's delicious.” He put down the cup back on the coffee table before pulling her into his arms. “That's good, I made it extra sweet for you.” He gave a kiss on the lips. The kiss was passionate and gentle.
As he pulled away, he licked his lips. “Oh, it's very delicious.” Ara blushed and quickly hid herself inside the blanket. Jongseong laughed before pulling her even closer. “You're so cute.” She shook her head inside the blanket. “No, I'm not.”
“Come out of the blanket. You are going to suffocate yourself.” She shook her head again. “I'm good here.” He shook his head and pushed the blanket down to see her face. “Hey—before she could say anything. He kissed her again and put something in her mouth. She swallowed the thing in her mouth before asking, “What was that?”
“Something sweet,” he replied. She pouted, “I want to have a taste of it, but I swallowed it before I could.”
“Do you want more?” She quickly nodded. He leaned towards the coffee table and took a jolly rancher before opening it. He then leaned back. “Open your mouth.” She opened her mouth without any hesitation and he put it in her mouth. “How do you know I love Jolly Ranchers?”
“Your mom told me a while back. She said that you whined about wanting it, but it is always out of stock and such.” Ara nodded. “Oh, this is cherry flavored, want some?” He shook his head. “Well, that's too bad, but I wouldn't let you—” He kissed her again before pulling back moments later. “Oh, it is cherry.” She quickly turned away, blushing even more. “You are getting bold these days,” she muttered. He laughed before pulling her into his chest.
“I guess I am comfortable with you nowadays,” He whispered to her ear while resting his chin on her shoulders. She blushed even harder. “Y…You need to stop being this bold.” She could feel her heart skipping beats. “What if I don't want to,” he whispered to her ear. She quickly moved away and looked at the television. “Oh my goodness, I missed the whole episode!” She whined. Jongseong laughed. “We can watch it again.” He grabbed the remote and went back to the beginning of the episode.
Ara moved away from Jongseong. He looked at her with his eyebrows slightly raised and paused the episode. “Why are you moving away from me?” She glared at him. “You are being too bold right now.” He grinned before slowly moving closer to her. She moved farther and farther until she hit a dead end. She cursed when she looked behind her. “You are now stuck,” he smirked as he trapped her.
She was blushing like crazy. “I—” He raised his eyebrows. “Lost with words, hm, love?” Before kissing her lips again this time more passionately, longer, but still gentle. Slowly breaking the kiss, he put his forehead on hers. “You are so cute.” She was still in shock from what just happened. “Love, are you still shocked?” He pecked her lips over and over to somehow bring her back to the present. Soon, she quickly breaks from her thoughts. “You are crazy.”
Jongseong laughed a bit before pecking his lips. “I am crazy, but only crazy in love.” They stayed like this for another couple of hours before one of them broke it. “Let's watch your kdrama?” She just gave him a couple of nods. He stood up and rearranged the couch to make it longer. Then he carried Ara to the longer part of the couch. They curled up together as they watched the kdrama.

Maybe making out in the Watch Tower wasn't the best idea
Story summary: Most of the Justice League is in space, so Dick and Wally had movie night in the Watch Tower. Maybe it wasn't the best idea when everyone came back early. Dick won't pass up adding a little chaos when he can. Plus, Bruce needs to let his friends know more about his life. Wally is just hoping Batman doesn't kill him for loving his son.
Word count: 1,447
Pairing: Birdflash and hint of TimKon or damianjohn.
ao3 link
Wally won't say that this was the best place to be making out. But he could say this wasn't the worst place he had before. Dating Batman's son could be hard sometimes. He was Batman. There were very few places where he couldn't get access to videos. The Watch Tower definitely wasn't one.
Making out at the WatchTower wasn't a good idea. Batman, along with Tim, Barbara, and Cyberg, made the whole security system. Batman was terrifying, even if Dick said he didn't kill. Wally didn't want to take the chance. He was overly protective of his kids and didn't like his kids dating metals, even if Dick wasn't the only one doing it. So, making out anywhere Batman would see was a bad idea.
But well Dick would just smile and get closer. And all thoughts went right out his head.
They were on the couch watching a movie. The Justice League was doing some intergalactic negotiations or something like that. Wally may be on the team. But they didn't need everyone for this. And he was quite happy to sit this one out. Nightwing had finally gotten the big drug ring bust he's been working on for two months now. He finished at 2am yesterday. After most of the next day sleeping. They wanted some time together relaxing.
Dick had set up all the monitors into one even bigger screen. It was honestly so massive you couldn't see the whole thing at once. They were watching some cheese show, so it was fine.
They were cuddling on the couch, limbs all tangoed together
“You going to fall asleep on me man” Dick was smiling head mostly barred into Wally chest.
“Mmmm no?”
“You don't sound very sure about that.”
“Well, I know something that will help keep me awake,” he said looking up
“And what might that be?” Dick shooted up a little more and kissed Wally. Soft and slow. A smile on both their lips. The TV show was completely forgotten about.
Now at the very least Wally and Dick were not stupid enough to do anything more than just kissing and cuddling.
The episode had ended, and started playing the next one. About halfway through, they heard the bay doors opening. Pure panic ran through Wally. Dick luckily was faster and quickly grab his mask from off the table and put it on. He grabbed onto one of the monitors and disappeared upwards. Wally fumbled with the computer, trying to get the monitors back to how they are supposed to be. As the plane landed, and doors opened.
“Flash” Superman surprised, filling his voice. “I didn't expect you here.”
“I thought you would be in space for another few hours. Is it a good thing or a bad thing that you're back so early?”
“It is a good thing. There was only miscommunication between languages and cultures. And once things got figured out, a deal was made without too many issues,” Martian Manhunter said, walking down.
“Why do you look so suspicious, Flash?” Wonder Woman asks, putting her hands on her hips and giving him a look over.
“Me suspicious, nooooooooooo, never.” Wally tried hard not to fidget and not to look like he was avoiding looking at Batman.
Wonder Woman raised an eyebrow, about to say something. Batman held up a hand and whistled. Wally froze, and the rest of the league looked confused. Then, a bird chirped from above them. They looked up.
“Flash, how did you get a bird stuck in here?” Hal asked, sounding like he wanted to laugh. “We in space”
“I-”
Batman and the mystery bird chirp back and forth. Wally jumped behind the couch and let out a little chirp. And got a death glare from Batman for it. At this point, all of the league was looking up.
“What spooky, you speak bird really??? Of course you would, what language don't you speak?”
Batman only grunted and then continued. Then signed. “Get down here then.”
All of a sudden, there was a black figure falling from the ceiling. And landed right in front of Batman. Everyone else jumped back. All of them quickly getting into a ready stand. Someone in a black suit with a blue stripe from his fingertips along the chest to his other fingertips.
“Wooo wooo don't attack. he a … friend?”
“Wow, flash way to demote me,” the newcomer says lightheadedly.
Batman turned to glare at Flash, who quickly ran behind Superman and Green Lantern.
“Oh, please, B leave him alone. It was my idea”
“I'm sorry. Who are you?” Hal said. At this point, most people lower their weapons. If Batman knows this guy and isn't attacking, they figure it's okay for now. Hal was still ready since now he had Wally behind him, but he was less worried about the newcomer and a little more concerned about why Batman is giving Wally a look like he wanted to kill him.
“I am Nightwing!” he said proudly, giving a bow
“And how do you get in the Watch Tower? Even if Flash tried to let you in, he won't have the authorization to do so.” Wonder Woman crosses her arms.
“Oh, I don't need Wally's code. B here put me in way before all of you. I was the second person to see this place. Well, besides those who actually built it, I guess,” Dick shrugged.
“You're dodging the question. Why are you up here?” Batman said
“We were watching a show”
“Why here?”
“Wait, how??” Hal asked, turning to Wally.
“I didn't do it. Nightwing does all that.”
“Oh, it's eas,y all you have to-”
“Stop, these are for professional use only. Not to watch Netflix.”
“It was on Hulu, actually.” Hal was honestly loving this guy. Not sure how he wasn't getting punched with the attitude he was giving Batman.
“Umm, Batman, can you explain what is happening here?” Superman finally spoke up. Most of the league does not want to be the one to interrupt Batman. “And why does this random hero have clearance?”
“This is Nightwing. He is…. Trusted by me and thus has codes for everything.”
“Wait, everything!”
“Batman. Even Superman and I don't have access to everything!!”
“Who are you????!!”
“How did he get that? What, you blackmail him or something, kid???”
Batman just stood there, not looking like he was going to give any answers.
“How could you B!! You've been friends with all of them for years!!! And you never told them about me.” Nightwing dramatically looked hurt. “Are you ashamed of me?”
“You know why,” Batman sounded tired. HE SOUNDED TIRED.
“Wally, where did you find this guy? He is amazing!” Wally nodded at Hal
“He is the best,” Nightwing smiled and blew a kiss over at Flash, who turned completely red.
“Flash leaves Nightwing alone,” Batman growls.
“I am an adult, and I can make my own choices about who I date. Stop being all overbearing and protective; you're scaring him.” Nightwing turned back to Batman, who grunted. “I mean it, B. Stop trying to scare him away.”
“I don't like you with a meta. And he not ev-”
“I can date who I want, and you're being mean for no reason.”
“Ummm why does Batman care that you're dating Flash?”
“Isn't it obvious? I know y'all are not detectives, but I dropped enough hints.” Nightwing looked at the confused faces. “Batman is being an overly protective Dad. Way to overprotective”
“Dad!!!!”
“You have a kid!????”
“Batman is your dad?????? How that happened!!!???”
“How old are you???? Your kids an adults!!”
There were so many questions now being thrown around. Nightwing just cackles.
“Well, it's been great meeting all your friends, B. But I am going to continue my date. I'll see you on Sunday for dinner with the rest of the family.” Dick slide by Hal and grab Wally hand and pulled him over to the zeta tube
“You have more????”
“Oh, there are a lot of us! Come on, Clark. One of your kids is dating my brother. Have fun, B. Love you!” Dick made sure to add as much fuel to the fire as he could before stepping through.
“Dude, I am dead!!” Wally yelled now that he wasn't near Batman. “I am totally a dead man walking.”
“B doesn't kill you, be fineeeee. Plus, he has to worry about answering everyone's questions. He won't be on top of you for a while.”
“You are evil” Dick just smiled
“Now let's head back to my place and continue.”
Wally picked up Dick, kissed him, and disappeared in a flash of lightning. They can worry about Batman later.

Greg calling you while at work - fluff
Greg Sanders x fem!reader
Inspired by the scene in season 1 episode 17 “Face Lift.” He’s so cute on the phone.
The Greg vibe:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No warnings other than mention of sex. just fluff
Summary: While at work Greg calls you to confirm your date for tomorrow.
—————————
You met Greg at a mutual friend’s house party a few months back. You were looking through your friend’s record collection when he first approached you. Greg said that he’d been trying to find the chance to talk to you all night; you caught his attention and he was insistently smitten. He was charming and made you laugh; not wasting a second before asking you out. You were equally infatuated with him, but you wouldn’t admit to it if he asked.
The two of you had been on a handful of dates since, having slept together for the first time last week. You’d been burned in the past and worried you’d stop hearing from him but here he was calling you the third time this week. You were surprised the first time because you remember him telling you that he worked nights.
“Don’t you get any work done?” You playfully greet him after answering the phone.
“I appreciate the concern, but yes I do” he defends, “the computer just takes a while to analyze the tests.”
“Oh is that what it is?” You tease. Yesterday he called you on his lunch break claiming that he had a free moment and wanted to hear your voice.
“Actually, I’ve been backlogged all day and just finished catching up” he smiles while moving to take off his gloves.
“So this call is your reward for a job well done?” you ask raising your eyebrows.
“You could say something like that” he jests then pauses, “have you made up your mind about our date tomorrow?”
Greg could sense your hesitation and hoped you’d say yes. The night you all slept together was the last time he saw you. He only managed to get tomorrow off after some serious pleading with Grissom. He had eagerly agreed to work a double shift next week; he didn’t care, he needed to see you. Images of you were swirling around in his head, and he wasn’t able to focus on anything else but you. Greg also couldn’t shake the worry that you were pulling away from him. He wanted this date to ease your mind as he plans to ask you to be his girlfriend.
“Yes, let’s do it” you happily confirm while smiling into the phone. Greg stops in his tracks. He’s as elated as he was the first you agreed to go out with him.
“Awesome baby, I can’t wait” he tries to stay calm but knows you won’t fall for it. You can picture him strutting around the lab.
“What time are you picking me up?” you ask
“6, how does that sound?” he replies
“That’s perfect. Does this mean you are finally going to tell me what we’re doing or is it still a mystery?” You question hoping to get something out of him. He had refused to tell you anything, only that it was going to be special.
“Mmm, I think I’m going to keep you on edge just a little longer” he teases knowing that you’ll make him pay for those words later which is exactly what he wants.
“I need to know what to wear Greg” you whine.
“Oh, well then I can definitely help you with that” he smirks while sitting down and propping his feet up. “Might I suggest the impossible red dress that you have tucked away in your closet?”
“How do you know about that?” you ask surprised that he remembers.
“That one’s hard to forget because I’ve been imagining you in it ever since. Come on baby, trust me. I know you’ll look stunning, you always do” he charms while leaning back in his chair.
“Alright, I might be able to make that happen but only if you promise to take it off afterwards” you smirk.
“I promise, you’re such a tease” he blushes before you hear another voice come through the phone.
Greg turns around to see that Nick has walked into the lab, clearly looking for his test results. He brushes him off as he’s too excited about your all’s date tomorrow night.
“You gotta go?” you ask in disappointment
“Mhm, I’ll see you tomorrow, I can’t wait” he smiles.
“Me neither. I’ll see you then” you reply
“Bye baby” he says before reluctantly hanging up the phone and standing up to go talk to Nick.

Time flies - yesterday, it's been two months since we left for our inZOI adventures! We're already ~ 200 hours in. (The Sims 4: 6785 hours and 49 mins (since release 2014) ö.Ö' Way to go!)
Tumblr media
We have so much fun, there is so much to explore and they are so, so beautiful <3 (It still cracks me up that it's EA's fault that I even have a computer that runs inZOI because I couldn't play the Sims 4 anymore on my ancient toaster after an update about a year ago so I had to buy a new one lol) And while I can see why some people complain about missing stuff in inZOI (but remember: it's still early access), for our way to play (story telling and building), it already offers (more than) everything we need and it will only get better and better for us with more content. Courtesy of the color wheel and that we can add patterns and images while we play(!) and the game already offers so much in build/live mode, I haven't even used the 3D-printer or any CC yet. Not even the pose maker I've been so excited about ^^' I'm even able to add gameplay fun in between the story takes because we can adjust the length of the day (can you imagine that? In Sims 4 it took me already half of the day to get them on their horses ^^' So it was pretty stressful to also actually play the game and I even cheated their needs to seize the day/night time omg). It's so much more chill for all of us, even without cheats :3
Tumblr media
We already finished the first Chapter (with 12 Episodes) and started the second. you can find the Chapter 1 Episode Overview -> here
While the episodes are still as long as always, I'll keep the chapters shorter, with less episodes, so it's easier to follow along.
If you're interested in what we do over there in general (it's just like here, with the story stuff, lots of behind-the-scenes, builds, news and TMI) -> here is the archive
And -> here is the general Story Hub with all the links and info
With the open world, the color wheel, the cars... inZOI gives me happy Sims 3 vibes and I couldn't be happier. I can make the world our own again.
Yeah, just a heads-up that we are going to be happily busy over there for the foreseeable future. I hope you are all doing well!

Ahhhhhh there is too much good tv to watch! I need like a month off work to focus on my tv watching!! 😂
Hubby and I finished Season 2 of Andor yesterday and it is just SO. DAMN. GOOD. And then today I had to re-watch Rogue One... just had to.
I've watched the first two episodes of Murderbot. There's a lot to like but the characterisation is... hnnnggghhh... so far. I am a HUGE fan of the books and I am trying to be open-minded. Interested to see where it goes.
And cdrama... oh my god, cdrama. I NEED to watch Love in Pavillion... and Prisoner of Beauty... AND Legend of Zang Hai has just dropped too.
But I need to make myself finish In Blossom first. I am literally on the last goddamn episode but I find myself too anxious to watch cos I'm still so scared it's all going to go to shit and they won't get out of it and it'll be a BE.
Grrrr. I need to be brave and get it done.
What should I watch first once I finished In Blossom? Love in Pavillion looks deliciously whumpy, and lots of pretty people in it, but Prisoner of Beauty also looks really good... but so does Zang Hai!!

Get to know your moots! Tag game :)
I haven't done one of these in so long omg??? Thank you, @mortalscience! I loved reading your answers!!
Favorite color: Purple! In all its shades, but my favorite is definitely violet!
Last song: Broken Social Scene's Hug of Thunder. Although I do listen to them once in a while, this was an accident? (And I now have one new song in my library, yay!) I'd looked up Sara Bareilles' Orpheus (aka one of the most beautiful love songs ever) because I wanted to listen to it after reading this garvez fic and the song below that in the results was Arcade Fire's It's Never over (Hey Orpheus) which I also like! and after those two ended, Spotify just started playing "related" artists after that or sth... But I do loooooooooveeeee Lover's Spit by Broken Social Scene! the Queer as Folk soundtrack will always be dear to me.
Currently reading: Three books by Brazilian authors... I think none of them have translations in English yet, but in case you ever stumble upon two authors called Stênio Gardel and Socorro Acioli, I highly recommend reading them. but other than that, just lots of wolfstar fics (have at my bookmarks!) + this one drarry fic that I'm almost finishing! I also just read the aforementioned garvez fic and I'm still in awe of that, so! :D just *sighs* fanfiction in general is amazing, right?
Currently watching: Shrinking, which I've been watching in small doses because it's sooo goood but also hits me like a punch despite the humor I love (and Harrison Ford is just amazing in it, though sometimes I think he's just being himself... which is golden anyway). Every once in a while I watch one or two eps of b99 from the seasons I hadn't seen after I quit because of the stupid fuckery that was the let's-force-jake-to-'want'-to-become-a-father episode. but it's hard, I still feel like the show was ruined for me after that. but the seasons before season 6 are still very dear to me.
Currently craving: chicken thighs!!! I bought some yesterday and I intend to bake them tomorrow night because they get all crispy outside and juicy inside yayayay
Coffee or tea: Coffee, definitely. I even have a group of friends where we go to a different coffee shop nearly every week to have fun but also try different brands/methods of making it. I can go months without drinking tea (I do like it), but I drink coffee every day. Years ago I had to go from drinking 6 cups a day to only 1 because I was fucking up my throat/voice... lol And one of the few reasons why I dislike not having the sense of smell is people often say that the smell of coffee is even better than its taste. WHYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYY
I'm tagging @thestralsofspinnersend @heart-a-holic @scentedwolfpeanut @excusemeweirdo @m00neroni @outromoonyy and @remusawoooo but there's no pressure! ;)

The Plastic Wrap Incident, Early to Bed, Early to Rise ~ Taking Good Care of Things ~
The other day, I noticed that I was running out of plastic wrap at home. I always keep plastic wrap on the left side of the large drawer under the sink. I could tell I was only a few rolls away from the last one and since I had no stock left in the drawer, I decided to buy some before I forgot. Since plastic wrap is an essential item for me, I bought a bit more to stock up properly. This time, I bought a set of four online and immediately felt a sense of relief ♪ I was excited as I waited for Plastic Wrap babies to arrive. The next day, the plastic wrap was delivered to my house safely. I used up the last one and opened a new package. I felt at ease and happy knowing that I still had three rolls in stock on the left side of my drawer. All of a sudden, I looked to the right side of my storage drawer. There were two rolls just lying there. How did you get there??? What a surprise…I had no idea you existed (maybe because I bought them in the store and not online). Can't believe there have always been two extra rolls in stock. But why are they on the right side? It's really confusing. With five in stock, I feel like I don't need to buy plastic wraps for about a year. I feel like I should do a give-away for my fans. (I won't do it though.)
Hello, this is Wakana (0 ̄▽ ̄0)/
With five in stock, I won't have to worry about plastic wraps for a very long time (But I'm sure I'll end up buying even more rolls)
Well, it seems we've overcome the intense heat of August, and it's finally starting to cool down a little bit. At least in Tokyo.
Recently, in addition to stretching in the morning and evening, I've been trying to go to bed early and get up early. Ideally, I want to go to bed at 11pm and get up at 7am. Surprisingly, it's become a habit quite easily, and sometimes I even go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 6am 😂 I'm already sleepy by 9pm…😴I feel that doing a lot of different things in the morning really helps me finish the day efficiently and refreshed. In the evening, after getting out of the bath and finishing my skincare routine, I do whatever I like depending on how I feel that day. I do some thorough stretching, watch a movie, have a little wine, read a book, etc. I'm going to keep doing this in order to find the best schedule for me😊💕
Yesterday, I went to the hairdresser and got bangs again. This time, I got full-on bangs ( ̄^ ̄). My previous bangs couldn't even be called bangs because they were so thin. But now, they are proper thick bangs. With bangs like this, I can choose to wear them down, part them, or put them all up. I'm not used to it so I will try my best to arrange them nicely from now on. Of course, as before, I will be pulling them up frequqntly to let my forehead breathe (It's my go-to hair-style after all) I'll post some photos next time😊
Finally, I have an announcement and a reminder. First of all, here are some more infos about my upcoming FC exclusive event “Join Wakana! Houseboat Full-Course Tour” 🚣🎶
《Event Overview》 Title “Join Wakana! Houseboat Full-Course Tour” September 22 (Sun), evening session from 18:00 September 23 (Mon), day session from 12:00 Let's all enjoy a great meal on the boat! ! ! \\\٩( 'ω' )و //// For more information, please check this link😊 https://wakana-fc.jp/contents/773952
And once again, I would like to post a reminder for everyone to submit their messages for my next "Wakana's Talk Garden" podcast episode before the deadline. These are the topics: - Everyone's mysterious experiences - Anything you want to ask me!
Stories that can't be explained by science. Stories that make you question your own perception. Stories of miraculous experiences. Really anything weird you can think of! I look forward to your strange experiences 🤗(In a way, the wrap incident was also a strange experience.) Click here to apply ♡ https://wakana-fc.jp/answers/botanical_oshaberi_13/new
By the way, some of you asked about the floral sheets that could be seen on some of the pillow pictures in my last blog post. (Actually, it is a duvet cover) I had to think about it for a while but I must have bought it somewhere in the Sangenjaya area when I first moved to Tokyo 🤔I saw it and liked it so much that I bought it on a whim. It's been almost 20 years since then. I've been taking good care of it, haven't I? *laughs* I'm quite surprised it is still in such a good condition.
Well, that's all for today, until next time~☆( '▽')/ Lately, I've been obsessed with Mini Bolo snacks.

There's always time Cozy!!!
You're doing so well already, and your work and little posts mean a lot to us!! I know it doesn't always seem like it, but there are people who might consider hearing about your day or seeing your art as little drops of joy
So... maybe it's not a lot, but it means a lot to someone, somewhere
Lots of affection (/platonic) from this little anon
then hear about my week.
today i went out and instead of spending 55 bucks on meager groceries i spent 35 on meager groceries because the majority of what i got was “buy one get one free” — not much of a ratio and still expensive but 20 bucks less is 20 bucks less i suppose
but this came after i bought a humidifier only for it to show up like it sustained a freaking bullet wound either during or before shipping but nobody gave a shit. It’s muskrats America so maybe my humidifier DID get shot. it’s cheaper to just crack a window for some humidity in my room. Refund imminent.
two days ago i finished my last art trade from that follower raffle i did (i know i never posted the art i did receive- its not my style but i loved all of them, but tbf most of my recipients didn’t either so i suppose it balances out)
today i finished 75% of my emergency comms from days ago. there’s only one left. after that i’ll finally have a clear plate for the first time in months
i was sick most of the week with a cold (at least i think it was)
still doing the twst oc outfit art meme. tho im slowing down on purpose since im pretty confident that the only person who even likes the challenge is me. Pretty sure all the askers are only doing it out of pity anyhow since im not giving gen art. It’s not nearly as in demand as like…that old wardrobe art meme with all the fake cards and to think…
those are basically obsolete since ⚠️the game started room relaxation on jp and i realized how off base i truly was 👌👍 good thing i never finished. But i was tired of making thankless stuff anyway.
i cleared out my inbox yesterday cuz i knew i would never get back to anything (mainly ask memes i failed completing)
so now instead of 150+ unanswered messages its now a more humble 100 unanswered messages (mind half of that is just my own personal archived bs from like 2017)
Speaking of thankless, there was still drawing other peoples yuu requests in there from 2023. Pretty sure all those askers dont even like twst anymore and the majority of ones i did do never touched my work again. Always makes a homie remember that one is only useful to others so long as you can give them free stuff 👍
the only art that gives me joy is the stuff that i never post.
book 7 makes me frown now but not for the reasons people might automatically jump to but i already vowed never to voice mundane takes or reflections again because [redacted] [noun_error_notfound?] are [adjective_error_notfound(?)] if anyone says anything innocuous
I made tikka masala today.
world bad and i wanna get off of it
i stream drawing art in a discord server with one single other person in it and they are forced to listen to sonic game OSTs until they memorize the games they come from
art bad im never gonna be as good as the ones that sometimes manage to cross my purposely dead dashboard cuz i simply have no sense and have a “just making sure i dont fit in” complex where i dont wanna draw whatever is trendy
i did not put this under read more
i watched a bunch of bratz movies and episodes yesterday and i did not know they made some new mini-series continuation of their main continuity 😭 (apparently it was tiktok exclusive so ofc i didnt know. i dont use that.) so that gave me some joy.
speaking of toktik i was informed that someone apparently reposted my malleus and silver animatic up there >:(
i get a.i references when asked to draw stuff now i and dont like it because a.i but also because i cant read the images well as a result.
maybe people shouldn’t do that, idk.
And i didnt draw for myself today. That was my week.

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Conflict episode 1 review
After almost a year Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood war anime is back on the air! I would be lying if I wrote I hadn't been expecting it to come last month (September) because the second cour started to appear back then. But it's a good thing the cour 3 finally started!
Despite that, I think the first episode was a bit mid. The sole reason is the fact almost half of the episode was a recap of last cour's two last fights. Don't get me wrong, I still think Senjumaru's fight against the Quincies was epic, and seeing her Bankai was wonderful. Ichibe going against Yhwach was also something to be mesmerized about, but because those fights were so epic...at least I could remember those as clearly as if I had just yesterday finished watching cour 2's last episodes. Even so, while I found it a bit puzzling why there was such a recap, I could somehow understand it. It'll give the animators (hopefully) a budget for other epic scenes yet to come and once the anime finally truly picked itself, it felt just a natural continuation. Even so...it made me question 'what if they had cut out that recap and used that time for something else?'
But moving on. The third cour only kicked on after that recap and just like every manga reader would know, it was this time the quincies turn to win. The manga never showed us how, so seeing how Yhwach and Uryuu brought down both Ichibe and Senjumaru was interesting.
I really liked Uryuu's comeback against Senjumaru. I believe we haven't really seen Uryuu going so strongly against anyone except at the very beginning of the Bleach Mayuri. Which Senjumaru made the comparison. It almost made me laugh when she made that comment. It was like her breaking indirectly the fourth wall!
Yhwach vs. Ichibe was epic. The fact Ichibe broke down to that poem-ish singing middle of the fight to bring a new side of his Bankai (as youngsters these days would call it [talk about Ichibe and Senjumaru slaying things with their witty choice of words]) was epic. The animation was also epic. It felt very unique and refreshing, despite the fact there was some 3D here and there, but the makers still made it work. Too bad, Yhwach had seen that all and claimed his victory just like Uryuu who ended up playing Senjumaru like back with Mayuri, but hopefully this time without as big a cost as with Mayuri. Truly. Uryuu vs. Senjumaru felt like a parallel to Uryuu vs. Mayuri. But with that twist, this time Uryuu was the bad guy -at least from a certain perspective.
I also felt a strong parallel when Ichibe asked Ichigo to stop Yhwach. I don't know, but that parallel felt like a parallel to Kisuke? I can't now remember (it has been quite a long time) if Kisuke ever asked Ichigo to protect Soul Society or sort of, but the way Ichibe talked, his behavior, and the fact 'you don't have to kill the Quincy King (Yhwach) to protect Soul King, just stop him' just gave me massive Kisuke vibes asking things from Ichigo. I know many other shinigami have asked Ichigo to protect Soul Society when they haven't or sort of, but this...just like déja vu. I feel like this episode as a whole had lots of parallels. It was...interesting from that perspective.
Yhwach thrusting his blade to Soul King felt very ominous at the end. That and paired with the next episode's title, we can expect something epic next time!
Plus, the hint of Kyoraku going to see Aizen? I can't wait to see Aizen joining the fryer, since it won't just be your usual social visit Kyoraku will do.
Lastly, the opening of this cour is just epic. I really love the aesthetic of a monochrome setting with hints of color. It capture's viewer's sight of certain things while making the viewer somewhat 'blind' to other things that might occur. The ending made me giggle as the music sounds so upbeat and happy-happy, even though the words aren't that happy-go-lucky nor are the animations. But the beat being like that after things end with an ominous note? Yeah, talk about the contrast between things. In fact, the ending felt like playing with contrasts as Uryuu was on the side of the 'darkness' while Ichigo was on the side of 'light', yet in the end...they felt like just two opposites of the same coin, meeting somewhere in-between. The midnight sun was something that caught my attention when I watched the ending and read the lyrics of the song. It was obviously a figure of speech, but somehow...it felt a significant one. Also, once again, the fact the ending song's name was 'MONOCHROME' while the opening was almost fully monochrome felt like a huge parallel between the two things. In fact, the whole episode felt like it had lots of parallels...

- May 25th 2025 -
What was the last large city you visited? I was in downtown San Antonio two months ago, but I'm not sure if I'd call San Antonio a "large" city. The last truly large city I was in was Dublin, in 2023.
Have you ever lived in a house with a finished basement? Yep, my current house has a finished basement, and the house that my husband and I rented from 2013-2016 had a finished basement as well.
How many Canadian provinces have you been to? Two. Ontario and Quebec.
What kind of car did you take your drivers test in? My parent's minivan lol. It was a Honda Odyssey.
What is your first memory of being in a hospital? Being a young kid, probably around 4 or 5, and having to go to the hospital for testing and procedures related to my birth defect of my kidneys/bladder.
Do you have any relatives with red hair? Yes, one of my cousins.
What's a really unusual pet peeve that you have? This is super pedantic of me, but I find it annoying when people call meteors "shooting stars." Stars don't shoot across the sky, and anyone with a 2nd grade education should know that.
Does anyone in your life treat you badly? No.
Are you allowing them to treat you that way? Or do you stand up for yourself? N/A. I would not tolerate that, though, if that were happening to me.
Have you ever cut someone out of your life because of how they treated you? Yes, by quitting a job with a borderline abusive/exploitative boss.
Is there really any difference between 'turning the other cheek' and being a doormat? Not really, I guess.
What is something good that has happened to you in the past week? I had several days that were quite fun. My husband and I went to the farmer's market and out to brunch and looked around a few of the cute little shops on the town square. And another day, we went to the Renaissance Faire with my brother and his two kids. And I think the best part of all, is that I was able to do all of that walking without my post-covid heart problems flaring up. None of that gave me a tachycardia episode where I'd have to sit/lay down and rest, and it didn't give me any chest pain either. I think I'm slowly starting to get better.
How much was the rent/mortgage at the cheapest place you've ever lived? My husband and I's first place together was only $250/month. Crazy to think about nowadays. But this was way back in 2010, plus we knew the landlord from flight school - he had inherited the house after his mother died and he just wanted it rented out while him and his wife lived elsewhere.
Are you usually busier on weekdays, or weekends? Weekends. My husband typically has 3-4 days off over the weekends and we're usually out doing things, especially in the summer when the weather is nice.
List all the people of the opposite sex whom you fully trust 100%. My husband, my brother, my dad, my Uncle Scott, my uncle Dave, my Great-Uncle Mike, my friend Cory.
Have you ever been to a gay pride parade? No.
Do you still keep in touch with your very first best friend? No, I haven't seen him since 1996. I think my mom is Facebook friends with his mom, though. My mom is super sociable and is probably Facebook friends with like 90% of people she's ever met. 😂
When was the last time you slept in later than usual? Yesterday.
Have you ever lived in an apartment/flat? Yep, I had a 1-bedroom garden-style apartment for a few months when I was in college, before my husband and I moved in together.
Do you wear contact lenses? Not anymore.
^ If you do, have you ever slept with them in? I think I occasionally did, back when I still wore contacts. For a while, I had the gas-permeable kind that were okay to sleep in, but I usually didn't do that because it made my eyes kind of dry.
Have you ever owned a Toyota? Nope.
Who got married at the last wedding you went to? Mine and my husband's closest friend. Him and my husband have been friends since they were 5 years old.
What was your favorite home-cooked meal when you were a kid? I loved when my dad would make steaks on the grill, and my mom would make potatoes and asparagus to go with it. I also liked when my mom would make Chicago deep-dish pizza, she sometimes made that for me as a birthday treat.
What was the topic of the last conversation you had with your dad? We were just catching up on life. I was telling him about what my husband and I had planned for the weekend.
Have you ever drank Turkish coffee? I think I've had it once.
Are you an active member of any online communities/message boards? Just the ProBoards forums that us Bzoink users migrated to when Bzoink shut down last year.
Why do so many teenage girls fall for the "bad boys?" I have a theory that it's the girls with asshole fathers who go for the "bad boys," because they grew up thinking that asshole behavior is normal for men since that's all they've ever seen from their father. Just a theory. I could be totally wrong.
Do you know anyone who is (or has been) in a cult? Nope.
Have you ever been to a wedding where the bride was a total bridezilla? Nope.
How often did you visit your grandparents when you were growing up? About 2-3x a year, on each side. My Grandma lived in Illinois, and my Granny and Granddad lived (still live) in Delaware, so it was about a day's drive away to get to both sides.
Have you ever accidentally deleted a voicemail you meant to save? Maybe. I can't remember.
Are you the jealous type when it comes to relationships? Nope.
Have you ever been in a relationship with someone who was the jealous type? Nope.
Would you ever want to live in Switzerland, if given the opportunity? I think it would be neat to live there temporarily. My Granny and Granddad actually lived there in the 70s-80s and they really loved it there.
Have you ever had psoriasis? Nope.
What is tomorrow's weather forecasted to be like? It's going to be partly sunny with a high of 62°F.

If you could rant about one thing in BL, what would it be? (This could be either a complaint or a soapbox)
Thank you for the invitation to climb on my soapbox, I love it up here. Something that’s been on my mind recently is bl second seasons, so I will take this opportunity to talk about why I both anticipate and dread them in equal measure, and what makes for a strong second season in a romance narrative. I would apologize for this being so long but it's you, Emperor of the Long Post, so I don't even feel bad.
First of all, let me just say that part of the reason I love Asian dramas in the first place is because they don’t have multiple seasons. Unlike American TV, you don’t have to invest literal years in a show only to have it blow up in your face when it (nearly always) goes off the rails for one reason or another. The vast majority of Asian dramas are one and done–they tell a complete story in one limited run, and afterwards you just get to move on to the next story. As a result they tend to have a higher hit rate because they’re not trying to stretch their story beyond its limits to keep it going and going, and even when they fail you only spent a few days or weeks on it so it doesn’t feel like you wasted a lot of time. There are a few exceptions of course (lately kdramas on Netflix have started splitting into two “seasons” that are really just one standard kdrama episode count split in two and airing a few months apart–high key annoying IMO), but by and large that’s how it goes.
So the bl genre’s propensity for second seasons already goes a bit against the grain of what I love about dramas, and add to that the very nature of bls—they are romances, which typically end at the point that the romantic conflict has been addressed and the characters decide to stay together. So in general, I am primed to be suspicious of second seasons in this genre. Many second seasons are clearly driven by capitalism more than anything else–the pairing is popular and so the production company is looking to cash in while their commodity is hot, and whether or not they actually have any more story to tell is a secondary concern. So my first questions when approaching a second season is why was this made and what is it trying to accomplish?
I think there are a few buckets here:
Continuing the narrative season 2s: These are the shows where the story was not complete at the end of season 1, and season 2 is actually necessary to provide some resolution. Love Sick 2 and Make it Right 2 are prime examples; those narratives were incomplete after the first season and season 2 finished them. What Did You Eat Yesterday? 2 also falls in this category but for a different reason: it’s a slice of life show and the narrative never really ends. They could make 10 seasons of that show and it would make perfect sense (not that I am begging or anything).
Cash grab season 2s: These are the ones with little or no real narrative purpose. They’re more like long specials, and their purpose is primarily to provide additional fluff for the audience while they sell products (including the actors, they are also products here). Cutie Pie 2 You, Still 2gether, TharnType 2 are all good examples of this. Now I am not saying these shows are inherently worthless–they gave Aof the reins for 2SG, for instance, and he managed to make something of it and even repair some damage from the first season–but they are definitely inessential.
What happens after the HEA season 2s: My favorite kind, these are the ones that move into the next phase of the romance, once the characters have decided to be together, and take a look at what their relationship would actually be like. Their purpose is to deepen the relationship and character development and examine the types of conflicts that would naturally come up between the two personalities. Gameboys 2, I Promised You the Moon, Minato’s Laundromat 2, SOTUS: S, Together With Me: The Next Chapter, To My Star 2, and Utsukushii Kare 2 all fall under this category. Some of these are more successful than others, which I will unpack below.
Something like Our Skyy and Our Skyy 2 runs the gamut between these three types, with each installment fitting into different categories. The Eclipse OS2 is a great example of category 3, whereas My School President OS2 is more of a category 2, and you could make a case that SOTUS OS is really a category 1, since it puts a nice cap on the narrative of that whole series.
So, with that said, what I actually want to talk about is category 3, because these are the shows I am most interested in and where the decisions made in the writing are most crucial. Because this type of second season has real potential to either strengthen or damage the couple and how we see their relationship. The best second seasons of this type build on the established characteristics of the characters and take us through some natural conflicts that would arise as they continue their relationship. For instance, in Gameboys 2 we see Cairo and Gavreel spend prolonged time together in person for the first time after maintaining a long distance relationship and work through what physical intimacy looks like for them as well as how they intend to keep their relationship strong despite distance. I Promised You the Moon, SOTUS: S, To My Star 2, and Utsukushii Kare 2 all build on their characters’ well-established flaws from the first season to explore how that would manifest in conflict as these relationships continue and offer plausible scenarios for how the couples might make it through those issues (and it ain’t always pretty!). All of these are very successful second seasons, because they build naturally from what came before and directly address the doubts we had when those shows first ended about whether the couple can actually make it long-term.
Where this type of second season goes really wrong is when the writing violates character or the established patterns of the relationship in order to create conflict. In Together With Me: The Next Chapter, the show uses cheating as a plot device, having Korn cheat on Knock in a one-off hookup with a shitty villain character, and to add insult to injury, they juxtaposed it against Knock finally coming out in a poor attempt at dramatic irony. The reason this sucked was not just because it hurt our feelings; it sucked because that behavior was contra everything we knew about Korn, his devotion to Knock, and his well-established patience with Knock’s internalized homophobia. Now, don’t get it twisted: I do not believe cheating is an inherently bad plot device. It was actually used very well in I Promised You the Moon, a decision I will defend to the death (in fact, you can tune in to the conversation pod in a couple weeks to hear me do just that!). But its use in TWM:TNC did not make sense for the characters, and thus rather than deepening their relationship development, it irreparably harmed it.
Another way a second season of this type can go wrong is when the writing is not committed to the narrative or leans too hard on first season nostalgia rather than dealing with the current iteration of the characters. Minato’s Laundromat 2 just did both of these things, which was especially frustrating because for nine weeks it was on track to be a very successful version of this type. The show started out tracking the painstaking and slow process of Minato dealing with his internalized homophobia and becoming a decent partner to Shin, but for reasons I can only speculate about, the show balked in the final act, backing away from finishing its narrative in favor of an amnesia plot and several episodes of first season nostalgia bait, ending with a happy resolution that felt wholly unearned and thus deeply unsatisfying. This was especially infuriating because the show got us invested in the growth arc before failing to complete it.
So what is my point here? Second seasons can be very worthwhile, but only if there is a clear vision for what the story wants to explore about the relationship that is rooted in what we already know about the characters. There are rumors about other second seasons coming our way from shows like Big Dragon, Blueming, and The Eighth Sense, some of which have more potential to add to the original story than others (T8S is particularly primed for a solid second season IMO, because it left so much character development and natural conflict for the next stage of the relationship on the table). But regardless of where they decide to go with the plot of these additional seasons, the thing that will be most crucial is whether they keep fidelity to who the characters are and how their relationships work. That is how you successfully build from an origin romance in a way that feels meaningful and worthwhile.

befriending the one (apandah x reader) 1/3
“hey everybody, welcome to episode #91 of the sleep deprived podcast!” schlatt yelled. “today, we have a special guest! her name is y/n!” “hey everyone!” you greeted. “we have an awesome episode for you today, panda will be leading us in conversation. right now.” schlatt said. “yeah, i had chick-fil-a today. it sucked.” panda started going on a rant about how much he hated chick-fil-a and how much he loved popeyes and dominos. you didn’t really say much, but eventually you had to let in some of your input. “i hate pizza hut.” which everyone agreed, panda especially. and you started ranting about pizza hut, how horrid it is, and it shouldn’t exist. and panda paid close attention to everything you said, like you were fascinating to him in some way. and after you all finished recording, panda DMed you.
p- hey y/n i just wanted to talk about popeyes w u y- i think i’m going to go to bed, but we will later i promise!! p-ok, goodnight then y-goodnight panda!
you did eventually talk about popeyes with him, over a discord call a day or two later. it was seemingly 3 or 4 in the morning, and you two were just talking and ranting about popeyes and all of your favorite interests and such. you two were really different, and yet, got along so well.
and that’s how it stayed for a couple months to maybe even a year. you two talking everyday, about seemingly whatever came to mind. eventually, you did become a member of the sleep deprived podcast, and you and panda continued to get closer, when one day he DMed you.
p- hey when can we meet up???? y- good question.. wyd next month p- well hopefully i’m coming to see you y- i live in new york, how far is that from where you are? p- not far!!! i’ll see you next month!!! y- yay..
but alas, you couldn’t dwell on the situation too much, you had a silly podcast to film.
*while filming*
“panda i hope you know when you get here to my house, you’re on dish duty. for the entire time that you’re here.” you joked. “fine, but you’re on cooking duty!” panda yelled back. “panda im convinced the whole reason you’re meeting up with y/n is because you’ve never felt the touch of a woman and need to experience it,” aztro stated, laughing almost before they could finish their sentence. schlatt and mika agreed with aztro, and panda scrambled for words, trying to explain that he and you were just friends meeting up and that it wasn’t anything else. you giggled, siding with panda. “we’re just friends meeting up, that’s all it is!!” is what you demanded, but mika wasn’t listening. see, you’d been texting mika about panda the past couple months. take yesterday's text as an example..
y- MIKA MIKA MIKA m- hello y- i think pandas flirting with me but i could just be delusional m- what did he say? y- so he sent a selfie of himself and i said “omg ur hair is making me twirl my hair and kick my feet while giggling” and he replied “it’s not as gorgeous as yours, toots” m- you’re not delusional for once y- he’s so fine it’s insane
it was time. you and panda were finally meeting up. you’d cleaned your house 9 times, back to back, praying it was clean enough. he texted you when he needed you to come pick him up and what gate, and you jumped in your car to go get him. once you arrived at the airport and got to baggage claim to go meet him, the nerves set in. and the second you saw him running towards you, you gave him the biggest hug ever. you could tell he was touch starved, he just wouldn’t let go of you. “alright boss man, let’s get you home,” you eventually said, making him let go while he stammered out incoherent words. he grabbed his bags and such and you two left, going back to your house.

“I know you are close, but good girls don’t cum”
When I told him I wanted to do my last post, I told him I wanted him to chose a more “out there” picture - which he chose the one you saw. However, we made a little secret agreement that, for every upvote the last post got in 48 hours on Reddit, those would be the number of days that would be added to my denial period. That little joke resulted in 149 upvotes, which means I will be in denial until the 17th of July.
Yesterday morning, considering that at that point we knew we were looking for a long denial period (and that it’s only my third week ever knowing what denial is), he told me that I could cum if I wanted, that the choice would be mine without any repercussions. I chose not to for the simple fact that I have been constantly dripping and horny, and I want to see how my body will react to this. I am proud of myself for sticking to it and choosing to be a good girl. Cause that is who I am now, and good girls don’t cum.
After an eventful Saturday, we continued to test some limits, and explored a little bit of my willpower. I cockwarmed for the first time, watching specific videos he asked me to, and that was very very hot for me. I could only clench my pussy if I wanted, without touching my clit. But at one point, I was so horny that I couldn’t even control the clench anymore. I was truly desperate, and I felt my pussy really begging for the first time. The video attached is the result of that play - which I was incredibly shocked when I recorded, because I’ve never seen myself in that state (ever!).
After a couple more episodes, that is when the test really started. He told me to put my phone on my pillow, so I could read his instructions, as I would have my hands full - I got bent over, I had my ass plugged (the second one in my set 🥰), I was fucking myself with the dildo and I was using a vibrator on my clit. He would put a timer and tease me, and I couldn’t stop until the timer stopped, but I also couldn’t cum, no matter how close I got. He would guide the depth and speed, and I just had to obey. He told me to start slow, with the vibrator on low and with the dildo just rubbing against my lips, and I really thought to myself that I would be able to control my body throughout. Of course it progressed and my mind is blurred after he told me to start fucking myself with the dildo and the vibrator on medium. I remember him telling me to slam it into me, which I obeyed. He told me to have the vibrator on maximum speed while I was doing it, which I also obeyed. I remember bitting my lips so hard, in an attempt to bring myself some awareness to avoid cumming. I told him I could feel myself leaking and I could fill it running to my stomach, and that I never felt myself that close for so long. I was losing complete control that all I could do was follow what he told me, and that was an incredible feeling.
I felt that was a real test if I was in this 100%, and I guess I am here to stay. I have been very happy, constantly wet thinking about everything that has happened in the last two weeks. Being in work is now a chore, when all I think about its how I can please him when I get home. He knows how to drive me crazy, and I am craving his touch more and more each day. I told him I wanted him to teach me to be the best I could be for him, and to test my limits, and he did. As I have yet to finish my first full week of denial, I won’t lie and say I am not a bit intimidated by the 5 months ahead of me. But I agreed to it, and I know that if I take it one day at a time, listen to him and continue to be the good girl I have been, I will be completely fine. I have the best of the best taking care of me, and for him I will always be a good girl just to make him proud.

Chapter 2 out of 6 in second episode! Let's go! :D
(Chapter is undercut)
Spooky Things
Season 1. Beginning
Episode 2. The Weirdo on Maple Street
Chapter 2. Another day, same story
Despite the events that happened night prior, Will managed to have a quite restful night. Even if he was asleep, he hoped El had a good night too...
But problems arouse just as soon as he woke up in the morning... when he felt a familiar gentle hand on his shoulder... as well as a familiar scent from over him.
"Will, honey" A gentle voice called from over his head. "Time to wake up, my Pumpkin boy..."
Slowly, the boy opened his eyes, rubbing his eye, as he saw an oh so familiar face.
"Mom?" He asked half asleep.
Amber smiled softly at the small child, bringing him close to her chest, breathing out softly. If Will didn't know better, he would think it was a breath of fading worry. He smiled brightly to his mother, the previous sleepiness disappeared, as he wrapped his arms around her neck.
"You're back!"
Amber chuckled softly, running hand through her son's hair. "Of course, we did... we couldn't leave you and Susie alone at such times..."
Will was about to ask what she meant by that, but then he remembered. Oh... Ross was still missing? It's second day already... it was getting scary now.
"You and Dad are here both?" He asked, looking at his mother, who just nodded to him.
"Yes, honey." She said once more. "And we're going to stay as long as it's going to take until we know everything is alright again."
Will smiled once more. It was good. Mom and Dad were here now. It meant it was going to be alright. They knew how to fix everything.
And just in an hour... they would help El too!
In the morning, somewhat recovered from yesterday's phone incident, Jaune and Aaron (unable to have a good sleep) were on the kitchen. Aaron, seeing the state his wife was in, decided to take over cooking once more.
He looked over at her. His entire mood soured even more upon seeing her sitting over missing poster of their son... they gave up trying to sleep at 5 AM, getting up to finally finish the poster making... they did that just 30 minutes prior to this.
"Alright, hon." Aaron broke the silence, holding two plates, breaking Jaune out of her thoughts. "Breakfast is ready..."
"Oh... right..." She smiled weakly. "Just be careful of the poster."
Aaron smiled softly to her, nodding, setting her plate next to her, but away from all the papers.
For few minutes, they just sat in silence, with Aaron taking notice that Jaune didn't even touch her food. He sighed, before reaching out to her, putting hand on her knee.
"I need you to eat, Jaune..." He spoke gently.
Jaune sniffles lightly, before looking a at the poster. With another deep breath, she spoke again. "Alight. Xerox place opens in... 30 minutes, right?"
Aaron nodded. "I know, I called Ember, we'll go there together after she drops kids at school."
"Okay, good..." Jaune smiled, breathing out. "So... how many copies we need? 200? 300?"
With that, Jaune stood up, walking to another room.
"Jaune!" Aaron called to her. "Jaune, stop!"
He followed Jaune, to catch her up on the table, rummaging through her purse, mumbling to herself about the price of copies. She seemed not to have even notice him. Aaron looked at his wife for a second, before sitting next to her, pulling her away from her purse to himself.
"Jaune, sunflower, relax." He said, looking into her eyes. "Keep your money, I've got enough for the posters."
The two shared a look for a second, before Jaune looked away, covering her face. Aaron sighed out, putting hand around Jaune's shoulders.
"Look, I know, you're worried, and so I am, but we both know that Ross would hate you putting yourself through that..."
Jaune was still staring to side, as she took a deep breath. She then laid her head on Aaron's shoulder.
"I... I know... I'm sorry... just give me a second..." She whispered softly.
"No, no." Aaron then wrapped his arms around her. "It's okay..."
And nothing followed. The couple just sat quietly, on the couch in one another's embrace. As much as they didn't say it, they both knew the each of them needed the other's comfort. They needed just a moment of the silence before everything would go back into chaos again.
After few minutes, their peace was interrupted by the doorbell. Aaron was the one to stand up and going to open it, but Jaune followed him.
To explain what they felt when they opened the door... was could be easily to be described as a weird mix of relief and frustration.
"We've been waiting six hours." Aaron said, looking down at the policeman.
"I know..." John sighed out, as he was let in. "I came as soon as I could."
Jaune frowned. "Six. Hours."
"A little bit of trust here, alright?" John said once more, before turning back to the woman. "We've been searching all night. Went all the way to Cartersville."
Aaron and Jaune shared a look, before looking at the man with hope in their eyes. "And?"
And after a small pause, John finally managed to give answer of a "...Nothing."
He hated being the bringer of bad news. Especially to an old friend and parents with lost child... but what could he say? Give them false hope without any evidence of supporting of opposite?
He looked away once more upon seeing the pair's reactions. "God..!" Jaune whispered out, as Aaron's hands curled into fists.
John's thoughts tangled more. He knew this feeling... this kind of helplessness and fear. The type of feeling only a parent can feel when something happens to their child... and they can do nothing to help them.
The feeling he couldn't wish upon even his worst enemy.
He decided to change the subject to the very reason why he came here. "Patty says you got a phone call?"
"Oh, yeah..."
Jaune nodded, before separating from Aaron. She lead him towards the phone, rasing the handset to show him. John's eyes widened upon seeing it being burned throughly, but kept his professionalism. He took the thing in his hand to inspect it closer.
"Hm..." He tightened his lips together. "Storm barbecued this pretty good..." He then looked at the pair. "What else?"
Aaron just raised his eyebrow at this, before shaking his head, but Jaune... oh, she looked at him as if he suddenly grew a second head.
"Are you serious!?" She then shrieked.
Through surprised, John still decided to continue. "What?"
Jaune just showed him onto the burned phone. "You're saying that that's not weird?!" She asked.
"No." John shook his head, before putting the headset onto phone back. "It's weird."
Aaron sighed out, taking his wife's shoulders to comfort her. "Do you think we can..." He started, before looking to John. "trace who made the call?"
"No, it doesn't work like that." The cop continued, shaking his head. "Now, Jaune... you're sure it was Ross? Because Patty said you just heard some breathing."
"No... It was him! It was Ross!" Jaune said once more in breaking voice, her mind going back to last night when she heard the sound through the speaker. "And he was scared. And then something-..."
"It was probably just a prank call." John then cut her off. "It was somebody trying to scare you."
"Who would do that?" Aaron asked, not believing somebody would dare to play with somebody's feelings like this. At such times.
"Well, this thing's been on TV." John explained. "It brings out all the crazies, you know. False leads, prank calls-"
"No, John!" Jaune raised her voice once more. "It was not a prank. It was him."
"Jaune..."
But she still stood her ground. "Come on, how about a little trust here?" The blonde argued, looking at the man. "What, you think I'm... I'm making this up?"
"I'm not saying that you're making it up." John shook his head, walking to her. "All I'm saying is it's an emotional time for you."
"You think I don't know my own son's breathing?!" Jaune yelled, finally snapping. "Wouldn't you know your own daughter's?!"
The room feel quiet after this with tense silence. Jaune and John were looking at each other. John's eyes widened as he was surprised by this outburst, while Jaune's filled with tears and desperation. Aaron just stood to side not sure what to do...
Then, they heard a sound of somebody clearing their throat. All three turned their heads to see Jack, standing just few steps away from them. John's face then turned to a 'God damn, I forgot he was here' expression.
"Mrs. Jaune... did you hear from..." He looked away, tuning onto the collar of his shirt. "your father yet?"
"No." Aaron said for her, with Jaune just shaking her head.
And then Jack turned to John. "You?" And, after some thinking, John also gave a negative answer.
The older policeman then sighed out. "Alright." He said, starting to head for the door. "It's been long enough. I'm having him checked out."
"Oh, come on!" Jaune said once more, throwing her hands up. "You're wasting your time!"
As John was coming to his car, he heard a voice yelling "John!". The man turned around to see Aaron coming to him.
"John." He said. "Can you switch with me?" He asked.
John raised eyebrow. "I’m sorry?"
"Switch with me." Aaron said once more. "Jaune needs some support right now, Lila isn't going to come until later today and I..." He sighed out, his fists curling up again. "I want to go and check Oscar's..."
John looked at him, closing his eyes.
"Aaron, thi-"
"Listen to me." The man spoke once more. "If it's as you said, and Ross' there... it means he ran away..."
Aaron sighed ohf at the idea. He knew his son. He wasn't the type to run away. He seemed happy here... and yet, as little as he liked this idea of his child running away... he couldn't cross out the possibility of it.
His son was a quiet kid... he never seemed to complain about anything, so him and Jaune assumed he was happy. But assumptions can always be wrong? And what if they were wrong about Ross?
"Look, what I'm saying... that if he sees you... or any cops really... he'll think he's in trouble. And he'll hide." Aaron continued to explain. "And just so you know, Ross..." He stopped at his son's name, before sighed out. "...he's good at hiding."
"Yeah?" John asked, before looking into Aaron's eyes "Well, cops are good at finding." He then turned away, lighting up another cigarette. "Okay, I know, I can't stop you, and, if you want to go there... then you'll do that... but first, let us do so and, if we don't find anything... you go. You're his father. I don't doubt, he'll come out to you... and for now..."
They both turned back, to see Jaune in the window, looking at the phone.
"Stay here with Jaune, until Lila can come..." John finally said. "She needs you."
On the breakfast in Wonder house, Will was on kitchen, stealing few leftovers of Halloween cookies into his pocket while his parents weren't looking. He loved them, yes, but these weren't for him.
He needed to get some food for El. Sure, not what he'd call breakfast... but Susie said he couldn't bring him out now that their parents were home. So, he decides he'd take something small and sneak it to him! Easy.
"Will! Where are you?" His father called for him.
Through not wanting to, Will came out from the counter, hiding his stash back. That meant four cookies would be the maximum, El would get to eat, until he reveals himself to Mom and Dad. Well, still better than nothing?
When they were on table to eat, Will was doing so faster than anyone else, that got him looks from the entire family, (expect for Susie).
"Slow down, Will." His mother said, trying to calm her son down.
The siblings shared a look. Will was as if he was aking if he should tell their parents about their guest in his room... but Susie quickly shot him a glare of 'No. They can't know he was here. Stick to the plan.'.
Noticing their glances to one another, Gary spoke up. "Hey, what's going on?"
The siblings turned away from one another to their father. "Nothing." Both kids said quickly, before going back to their food.
Surprising nobody, Will was the first one to be done and was excused from the table. As soon as his feet hit the floor, the boy darted to his room.
Eleven was sitting in his small hiding spot, stoll holding the orange plush in one hand. In other, there was a little speaker, as he was turning the volume button. It was when the blanket was pulled up and he saw Will on other side.
"Hey, you found old speaker from Dad's computer! Pretty cool, huh?" Will said, showing wt the small device. "He doesn't use it anymore, as he has one at work... so he gave it to me." He giggled lightly. "Got you breakfast."
He then pulled out the cookies from his pocket, when El's eyes went to them and widened a bit.
He looked all of them, taking a notice of they all looked. In different shapes and colors. There were white, orange, red, black and purple.
He then took a white one, shaped as a small mountain with a face on it and took a bite. It was sweet... it felt like bread, he'd be given at The House, but... it was coated in that sweet white thing, that melted in his mouth.
El continued to eat it. The more he did, the more he liked it. It seemed to make Will happy. He then turned to the door and after that back to El.
"So listen, this is gonna sound a little weird, but I just need you to go out there." He showed at the window. "Then go to the front door and ring the doorbell."
El's eyes followed the other child, as he walked up to the the window and opened it. He tilted his head. Why would he need to do that?
"My mom will answer and you'll tell her that you're lost and that you need help..."
El's eyes then widened at this. Tell... Will's mom? (whatever that meant)
"I would've told her already, but Susie said he'd get in trouble for sneaking out, when we weren't supposed to... so we'll need you to stay quiet about last night..." He shrugged before "Understand? Really, it's no big deal. We'll just pretend to meet each other again. And my mom, she'll know who to call.
Call... Viviana and Tom also called to help him yesterday... and Viviana got hurt by Harold! And now Will wanted this to repeat? Why would he want it? El knew he wasn't lost! He was trying to get somewhere safe! And if Will's mom calls... it will lead bad here... and they will hurt Will and Susie too.
El couldn't let this happen!
"No." His soft, yet determined voice said.
Will tilted his head at this respect. "No?"
He wasn't going to let Will get hurt.
"No." El repeated once more, shaking his head.
"No... you don't want my mom to get help?" Will asked once more, as El looked away.
The look in his eyes seemed... different to Will... but he thought he could understand what it meant... he saw it with Susie previously (through maybe not that scared).
"You're in trouble, aren't you?" Will asked softly, putting hand on El's knee, who just nodded. "Who... Who are you in trouble with? Your parents?"
After a short pause, as if El was going through his memories, he finally replied with a short, simple "Bad..."
"Bad?" Will asked, raising eyebrow. "As in bad people?" He waited once more, but El didn't say anymore. "They want to hurt you?"
El didn't know what to say about this... Will could follow same fate as Viviana... being pointed that... thing to his head and fall after the bang.
He tried to demonstrate this by raising his hand with two his fingers pointing to his head, right above his ear...
Will's eyes widened at this. He could get it that El didn't have the words to explain it... but the way he showed it was enough... he was being hunted. And he... could be shot? But guns weren't legal in town, unless they had a permit for it... and getting one, from words of Ross' dad was really hard.
So the thought of somebody wanting to shoot El sent chill down his spine. And then... El's hand moved... towards Will, pointing to his forehead.
The boy's eyes widened, as he shared looks with El, who was looking at him with worry, and serious expression.
"Understand?"
A single, simple word. Said barely above whisper... but that was enough for Will to be now scared.
And then, he was pulled out of his thoughts by his mother, who was calling for him... God, he forgot he had school today.
"Um..." Will whispered, before looking at El. "Alright. You stay here. Don't close the window. I'll be back. Okay? Just stay here. Okay?"
El nodded, looking at Will. The boy then lowered the blanket to once more hide El from everyone. He did ask Mom not to put it away...
He heard that Mom was going to go with Mr. Aaron to help him and get groceries... and Dad would join the search party for while him and Susie are in school... it meant that he'd just need to wait for them to leave. And then he can think on how to help El!
Maybe, they'd even be able to get him a better nickname too... Yep. It would do!
Footsteps rang through the long halls of the mansion, as Father walked with few people next to him. None of them wore their usual robes, which was surprising, but it didn't stop them from still acting concerned about the needs of their... "group".
Father walked ahead of them, speaking with a man with suitcase in hand, who seemed to he worried put of his mind.
"When was this?" Father asked, through on high alert, he kept calm face.
"L-Last night!" The man in yellow shirt spoke. "Less than two miles away... just down the hill!"
Father rumbled  rubbing his forehead, already having a clue who it was. "And the boy?" He asked one more.
"Still missing." The man lead him inside a room, where were few more people, a table, computer, headphones and listening device.
Father sat in the chair, putting headphones on, as one of people turned on the recording. It was recoding of a phone call between two women. A police officer and what seemed to be a victim...
Father's mouth tightened upon hearing the second voice. He knew that woman... oh, people like her were unforgettable...
'God, Jaune was always more of fuss than she was worth...' He thought to himself, as he listened to the conversation.
"It was my son!" Jaune's panicked voice said. "I know it!" She then stopped for a second. "And I... I heard something else..."
"Something else?" Second voice, one of a officer, asked.
"It was like..." Jaune made a noise, as if trying to find current words to describe what she heard. "It was slithering... like one of a snake..."
After that, Father's eyes, widened. Slithering? As one one a snake? But how? It had to be a very massive one to be heard like this... and there weren't any snake species that could do that...
