for pride month, i have:
a list of how the hazbin hotel had their gay awakening. (or lesbian, or bi, or trans, or aroace, pan, etc)
Charlie: she watched Sleeping Beauty, the year after it came out. she looked at Snow White and thought “wow, she’s so pretty.. but also Price Florian.. wait.” because this was in 1938, she didn’t know what bisexuality was, but she knew and accepted her feelings, because it wasn’t a big deal to her. in the 1970s, she found the label for it— bisexuality— and thought “OH THERE’S A NAME FOR THIS, YAY!” and that was that.
Vaggie: when she was still alive, in 2010, a friend sent her a photo of a genderbent character from some TV show, and her first thought was “oh, okay, i see why everyone’s in love with them now. …wait.” she spent the next 20 minutes looking up female versions of characters and realizing “oh. OH THAT EXPLAINS SO MUCH” (based on my own story)
Angel: honestly, he can’t really say. he just kinda knew from the beginning that men were just hot, and he’d marry a guy if he could. molly just assumed he meant “yeah, men are just better than women” and went along with it, even though she personally thought both were radiantly beautiful. (she found out what pansexual meant in 1972.)
Husk: he has no idea. if asked, he just shrugs and goes “any hole is a goal, i couldn’t care less.” at one point, Angel just shoved a poster at him, Husk read it and was like “oh. i guess that’s me.” pretty chill reaction, just continued his normal day, but kept thinking “okay, wow, that’s ME.”
Sir Pentious: he just thought all people liked both men and women, but because of societal rules and whatever, they had to wait until they had a crush on the opposite gender. ..what do you mean thats not what being straight is. (he only found out what bisexuality was after he came to the Hotel and Charlie had a bi flag pin. he asked her what country that was, and she had to sit him down to explain the concept of LGBTQ+, and no, it is ABSOLUTELY NOT a mental illness, wtf, you’re fine, buddy, go be happy.)
Alastor: post-season 1, like three people separately wished him a happy asexual awareness week and he was so confused, he asked Angel to look up ‘a sexual’ on his phone because he couldn’t find anything at the library. (he was looking at the outdated library in cannibal town.) he read the definition, and locked himself in his room for the rest of the day. if anybody heard muffled screaming and somehow-happy-sounding swearing, nobody mentioned it.
Vox: pfft, what? no, he’s not gay! he’s perfectly straight! is it gay to say that men are just as good at women? …Val, what do you MEAN ‘no but yes’? (Valentino explained the entire history of LGBTQ+, stressing bisexuality. Vox just said “okay, okay, hear me out.. there’s a whole month for them, right? their whole thing is rainbows? what if we paint all of our logos rainbow-colored? they’d buy it!” Valentino gave up, because Vox just COULD NOT comprehend what he was trying to say. but he keeps sending bisexual memes to Vox.)
Valentino: he just always knew. come on, everyone’s hot, unless they aren’t. even better if they can be exploited. that’s all there is to it.
Velvette: pfft, she grew up with social media, she’s known about this shit since she was a kid. fuck love, fuck fucking, she’d rather pester Vox into making cheesy garlic bread. the guy’s a bitch, but he makes good cheesy garlic bread.
Baxter: back before he and sir pentious became bitter enemies, they were both talking about.. whatever. at one point, they got on the topic of clothing, and Baxter— then Bella— griped that he hated how dresses felt. too heavy, too annoying, and it made him feel sick, anyway. suits were just better, not just because they’re lighter. man, he wished he were a boy. pentious asked if he wanted to be a boy in general, not just for the suits, and after a moment, Baxter excused himself quickly to go find something in his library, shooing Pentious out of the house. a couple days later, he came out, transitioned, all that. the only reason he doesn’t cut off his light-lure thingy is because it’s useful. other than that, he avoids looking at it as much as possible.

Note
I just wanna confess that as someone who's aroace, I feel like I'm not allowed to use the aromantic flag. I see a lot of alloaro (hope that's right) posts. I guess when I use the aromantic flag I feel like I'm harming alloaros in some way? Like I should only use the asexual or sunset flag. I know that sounds weird, and I support alloaros. I'm not blaming them or calling them out. I just get anxious I'm doing something wrong. Sorry if any of that comes off as rude
Hey no its fine. yes you can use it if you want!! aroallo and aceallo have their own flags if it makes you feel better!! I personally use the aro flag but don't feel like you need to and dont let anyone stop you if you want to!!

A Study of the Heart and Brain Pride Special 2024
Father Figure! Sherlock Holmes x Teen! Reader
Pride Special 2024
“Sherlock, you wanted to do something nice for (Y/N), so put on the bloody pin before I stab with you it,” said John, trying to corner Sherlock.
“I don’t have to wear for (Y/N) to have a good time,” said Sherlock.
“It’s to support them,” said John, rolling his eyes. “That’s what you do as their father.”
“I support them, and they know. I simply do not want to wear a pin,” said Sherlock, eyeing the pin—rainbow. He wasn’t a fan of the brightness since it would clash with his “mysterious detective” persona.
“Sherlock, they’re going to be here soon, so put on the bloody pin!” John narrowed his eyes, and all of his military training came out in his tone in that moment. “Now.”
            Sherlock took the pin hastily.
l
(Y/N) twirled the finished lollipop stick between their fingers and threw it out before they entered 221 Baker Street. They headed upstairs, already planning on grabbing another sweet to reward themself for another job well done. Sherlock had let them take more cases on their own, so (Y/N) had been working on them. Of course, they had solved the cases given to them. (Y/N) wasn’t going to let Sherlock or anyone else down—not even themself.
That being said, they’d worked hard all day, so it was time to sit down and do nothing. Sherlock would be proud of that. He was always insisting they get more sleep and eat more often, but (Y/N) brushed that aside when working on a case. Now that they had finished, they could do the boring (necessary) parts of life (until they got bored).
(Y/N) opened the door to 221B, and they blinked. A rainbow banner had been strung across the room, and John was standing in a bisexual sweater beside Sherlock, who wore a pin with asexual colors.
(Y/N) stared. Ordinarily, they could anticipate everything. But this? Nope. Not in a million years.
            “Surprise!” said John, smiling.
“I am surprised,” said (Y/N), even if their face didn’t change expressions. “What is this about?”
“Last year we went to London Pride together,” said Sherlock. “This year we worked a case during it.” He gestured to the flag. “You should still be proud of yourself.”
“Right, so Sherlock and I decided to put this together,” said John. He glared at Sherlock. “Even if someone is lazy.”
“I would have given them the flag I bought,” said Sherlock. “I just wouldn’t have a party.”
“This is three people, not a party,” said John.
“One person is enough,” said Sherlock.
            John groaned.
(Y/N) smiled, and John and Sherlock relaxed as they saw the expression. Despite their bickering, they had both wanted to do good by (Y/N), so as long as they were happy, that was enough.
“Thank you,” said (Y/N). “I like it.”
Sherlock smiled and held out a bundled cloth. (Y/N) took it and found an aroace flag and a nonbinary flag. Sherlock helped them throw the flags over their shoulders.
“There you go,” he said. “I told you that I supported you and who you were.” He tilted his head. “Did you think I’d forget?”
“I thought you’d delete the information. It’s not very important,” said (Y/N) matter-of-factly.
“You’re important, (Y/N),” said John, putting a hand on their shoulder.
“Yes,” said Sherlock, nodding firmly. “Your feelings are important.”
            “Sentimentality is—”
“If you finish that with anything negative because of what this bloody idiot says, I’m throwing him out the window,” said John.
“That is my move,” said Sherlock. “And, (Y/N), I told you before, sentimentality is fine outside out cases.” He smiled at his kid. “You know when to put feelings aside and focus on logic and when it’s alright not to.”
“If only you took your own advice,” grumbled John.
“I don’t have feelings. That’s a chemical issue in the brain,” said Sherlock.
            “Bloody sociopath,” said John.
            “Precisely,” said Sherlock, grinning.
“You take care of me, though.” (Y/N) looked at their dad and held the flags tighter around them. “You wouldn’t do that without feelings.”
“They’ve got you there. Logic applied to feelings,” laughed John.
Sherlock smirked. “Well, they’re a bright detective.” He looked at (Y/N). “Aren’t you?”
(Y/N) smirked, and they tilted their head, snake-like. “Of course.”
Sherlock reached out and squeezed (Y/N)’s head. “You’re intelligent, and you’re my kid. That’s all that matters. I support you.”
            “We support you,” agreed John.
(Y/N) found themself truly beaming, honest emotions reflecting in their expression for once. “Thank you, Dad, Uncle.” They had their family. They were supported and loved. That was all that mattered.

Books (again) and other things
10.22.24 ~ Tuesday
Tumblr media
Welcome back to the Book Nook! First things first: HAPPY ASEXUAL AWARENESS WEEK! I want to do something special for every day of Ace week (I have yet to decide what) and today it's going to be a drawing of a frog with an Ace flag that I found on Pinterest. Maybe that's what will happen every day, I guess you'll have to tune to find out this week. ;) I'm also aware that Asexuality Awareness week started two days ago, on the twentieth and it is in fact, October 22nd. Tuesdays usually feel like the "actual" start of the week to me since it's the first day of work for me. So...it makes sense to me.
I will also be going on a trip to Arizona on Thursday, so you best believe Imma be rocking some Ace and Aro pride while I'm there. ;) I wanted to try to wear something Ace or AroAce every day but I might've forgotten today. BUT I have made AroAce bracelets to sell in the shop I work at, so we got one of those on. Plus, I got my nails done recently and they've got purple ombre, so I think that counts as well.
Something I did for Aromantic Awareness week is make a bunch of Aro colored bracelets and had them out for free, so I want to do that again for Ace week! But I am low on those bracelets, so I'm gonna be a bracelet making machine when I get home today. Besides, better late than never. ;)
One of the main things I wanted today's blog post to be about is a book series that I really love. The Baby-Sitters Club (the graphic novels) books based on the original BSC books by Ann M. Martin. The illustrators/authors have changed as more books have come out but I love looking at all the different art and writing styles.
This is probably the main book series that I will always get new releases for, no matter how old I get, no matter what age the books are for. (Quick side note on that topic: it literally does not matter how old the books you read are intended for and it does not matter how old you are. Heck, I'm twenty and I regularly read middle grade books. Because I like them. And that's all that matters. I'm someone who has had a bit of trouble with not feeling embarrassed with reading some of the books I read but I shouldn't feel embarrassed! No one should. READ WHAT YOU WANT TO READ, WHO CARES WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK.) Okay. Side note over.
I never really got into the original Baby-Sitters Club books, though I've read a few of them. I love the graphic novels a lot, I feel like the art adds so much more to the story. So far, there's 16 of the graphic novel adaptations out. (And yes, I have all of them, hehe.) I know they've skipped some of the original books, probably because they felt they didn't add enough to the Baby-Sitters Club universe. (Or not, I don't know.) But the ones they have made, I love. And of course, we're going to talk about my favorites.
Tumblr media
These are three of my favorites out of the BSC! I'm sure if I re-read all of them, I'd include a few others, but we'll talk about these for now.
Good-bye Stacey, Good-bye is book number 11 in the series. Lemme just preface by saying, Stacey is probably my favorite BSC character's point of view to read from. She and Claudia are probably my favorite BSC members, honestly.
I love this one because it's Stacey moving back to New York City and while her leaving Stoneybrook is sad, the way she looks at moving back, I really like. Also, I've always wanted to go to New York City and explore, so I'm gonna love any of the books that have to do with it. As well with Stacey and Claudia's friendship, I love it so much. In this one it's shown quite a bit, their dedication and care for each other. The art style in this is one of my favorites. It was a bit of a change to get used to when Raina Telgemeier stopped illustrating them (I love her own books as well), but I think I kind of prefer this style more. I love them all, but this one just scratches my brain right.
Jessi's Secret Language, book 12. As a CODA (Child Of Deaf Adults), I really, really love when authors include deaf representation. There needs to be more representation, but over the last few years I've really noticed deaf characters being more included in books. As well as deaf representation, I'd love to see more normalized LGBTQIA+ representation. Seriously! But we're getting on a tangent now.
I love book 12 because of the things I've already stated, but also it's such a sweet book too. Jessi's love for dancing and how the kids and other BSC members show their support; I love it all.
And the last Baby-Sitters Club book we'll talk about today: Stacey's Mistake, book 14. Like I said about Good-bye Stacey, Good-bye, I love all the New York City vibes in this one too. But I'm also drawn to it because of the friend issues that happen. I haven't read this one in a bit, but I remember something in my brain going, "oh wow, I feel seen." I love books that make you feel like that. The way everything ends up okay-like every BSC book but that's partly why I love them so much-makes my heart smile.
I love all of the Baby-Sitters Club books and I will probably revisit talking about them in the future. They just give me this comfort and peak my interest every time I read them. And I'll also add: this is probably the only series that I've felt a real interest in writing fanfic and/or creating fanart for. But fanfic in the sense that I cast some of the characters as AroAce in my head. Honestly, it's kinda a lot of fun; I can see why people like creating an alternate story line to original stories in this way. :)
That is all for now, have the best day ever, and never stop reading what makes you happy.
All my love,
Thalia <3

Happy International Asexuality Day y’all!!! 🖤🩶🤍💜
I will be forever thankful that Jeremy Bradshaw exists, he has helped me so much to discover and embrace my own sexuality and he is the kind of aroace rep I have always longed for 🥹
And as you all know from know I love him very very dearly so I couldn’t not make a drawing about him today, he’s so important to me, and this day matters so much too!!!
Tumblr media
Here’s a whole view of the drawing!
Tumblr media
Little wip of the drawing! (Yes I was outside to draw him today, weather is good where I live in France so I thought that I could fully enjoy it!) And I’m emotional because the first drawing I did of Jeremy ever was him holding the ace flag last year so it just feels like a circle has been completed 🥹🖤🩶🤍💜

was thinking about my asl bros headcanons and started laughing when i realized ace is the only allo one (bi with a preference for men, luffy is aroace and sabo demi and only really interested in koala btw)
HEY!!! WE HAVE THE SAME HEADCANONS!!!
Idk if Luffy would, but Sabo definitely makes fun of Ace for being allo. He wouldn't let anyone else do it, though, he's the only one allowed to slut-shame his brother.
And you didn't ask but these are my ASL headcanons (+ Uta) because we have basically the same thoughts:
Ace: Bisexual. Bi. Bibibi. Would sleep with anybody, probably. Definitely. The preference for men is so real too. Going insane. I luv him. Also you didn't mention gender headcanons but I feel the need to say he's the most transmasc character I've ever seen. But this is a fact already, so.
Luffy: Aroace. Always. I think it changes depending on my mood tho??? Like for me it's either Aroace or Demi but tbh his feelings when it comes to my ships with Luffy transcend romance so calling him Demi would be an understatement. But yeah. Whatever. Aroaspec. And also he's transmasc. And demi-boy. Don't ask me why I think this it's just the vibes.
Sabo: I'VE BEEN SAYING SABO IS DEMI SINCE DAY 1 HE HAS THE FACE OF A DEMI PERSON I SWEAR HE'S SO-- It started as a joke to me bc I was like "haha his clothes look like the gay flag haha and Koala's look like the lesbian flag haha" and I ended up saying "what if they're both demiaroace with a preference for their own gender but at the end of the day it doesn't matter bc they're married". You know the whole "She's A Lesbian, He's Gay, And Their 33-Year Marriage Will Change Your Perception Of Love"? That's Saboala to me. Also Sabo doesn't look like somebody who'd use labels at all so his gender is unknown to mankind.
Uta: Lesbian. Just lesbian. Her gender is also lesbian. Idk how that works but yes. Also she's dating Perona. I'm a firm Perouta believer. Let's go lesbians!! She's also dating me, specifically.

Why do feelings have to be so confusing???
I’ve never been super into labels, but if I had to choose I probably would have gone with aroace. I kind of figured I wouldn’t ever find someone I wanted to be in a relationship with and that was fine.
But now I’m 30 and somehow in a relationship for the very first time with this person that I love so much. And it’s wonderful and amazing in so many ways, but I also feel so crazy with it??
I feel like a teenager with their first crush but also too old for that and it’s like I don’t know how to trust myself in this because I’ve never felt anything close to this before.
Feeling romantic and sexual attraction for the first time there’s a part of me that’s like how has everyone been living like this the whole time??? It still doesn’t feel like it should be real somehow, even though I’m now experiencing it firsthand.
Anyway I don’t know exactly where I’m going with this, but if you either advice or even just stories to make me feel a little less ridiculous, I’d love to hear them!
I think it's really REALLY important to remember that socially reinforced ideas of normalcy when it comes to exploring sexuality are not, actually, normal. A. Because people are people and what works for one person doesn't work for others. While there's obviously going to be a bell curve on the graph of "when do people typically sort out who they want to kiss (or not kiss) and start doing that" there is going to be a steady, not insignificant, number of folks that are on the upward and downward swing of that bell curve before you even get to the far outliers, and that's to be expected. B. Traditionally accepted timelines for building a sense of sexual identity don't apply anymore. The average age for (first) marriage is creeping back each year. In the US in 1900 it was 26 for men and 22 for women. Now it's 29 and 27 respectively. Women, especially, don't have nearly the pressure placed upon them that they used to to quickly find someone who will take care of them seeing as we can now open bank accounts and own property and work for (mostly) equal pay and all that jazz. So there's that to consider.
But also. Humans, human bodies, are never stagnant. You might have heard the fun factoid that all our cells are replaced every 7 years. That's not entirely accurate, but it's true that the body does regenerate skin and bone and liver and stomach, and so on, cells at a kind of mind-boggling rate. There are things that we're born with that don't change like some of the neurons in our cerebral cortex, I think, but as a species we are generally made to adapt to new experiences and environments so much so that our bodies are in a constant state of change themselves. You're just...doing what you're built to do. Something new has happened and you're adapting to it.
And yes, it can be scary and make you feel very vulnerable when you don't have historical relationship or sex-related context like other people your age might have, but that's when you get to lean on friends and/or talk to your therapist to make sure you're approaching things in a healthy way, there aren't red flags you're missing, etc. Because humans are also pack animals and we thrive in communities in which we can share each others burdens and wisdom.
As someone who also had built what I thought was a pretty clear assessment of my romantic and sexual identity over 29 years, only to have it challenged and rebuilt at 30, I fully empathize with the way you feel. But I leaned into the feelings of confusion (and frankly, giddiness, at times). Who says teenagers are the only ones that get to experience first crushes? Who says 30 is too old for self-discovery? You get to decide how you interact with the world. Who cares what other people are doing if what you're doing makes you happy and hurts no one.

hi there, i'm dey and i'm an artist! use whatever pronouns you'd like. i mainly do visual illustrations, comics, and doodles, but i dabble in animation, poetry, and writing on occasion.
cheers! ✌💫

[ID: a colored, digital meet the artist. The artist, named Dey, is young and feminine presenting. They have warm, light skin, brown eyes, various moles and freckles, and their wavy, scruffy brown hair is in a high ponytail. They have a tail and pointed ears. They wear a t-shirt dress, a hoodie around their waist, ripped jeans, sneakers, and most notably, a key necklace. Dey waves at the viewer with a grin and a wink. Catori, a small, slight blue raccoon, slinks around Dey's shoulders. She has stars peppered throughout the dark of her fur and wears a ribbon around her neck. An arrow points to her and says her name.
Dey is gesturing to some text and flags in the upper corner. It says Dey is an adult, uses any/mirror pronouns, and their birthday is June 15th. They are agender and aroace, american, and autistic.
In another section, their likes are listed out. They enjoy loz (legend of zelda) and danny phantom. Their favorite animals are raccoons and they enjoy spending their time watching cartoons, learning, and making art.
In the last section, their daily essentials are drawn. They include, from left to right: a phone, a water bottle, a wallet, keys, a usb c charger, bluetooth headphones, a tablet, and a pen and stylus. end ID]
beliefs and faq under the cut!
my beliefs
anti racism. i acknowledge i am on stolen land. in that sense, i am pro-palestine/sudan/congo/etc.: please donate if you are able! remember your daily click.
pro queer rights. that said, i support any good faith identity (and yes, that includes masc lesbians etc.)
pro choice. give people the support and medical care they need.
pro disabled rights. self dx is valid. fakeclaiming is always bad. all people own their bodies, no one else, and reserve the right to do whatever they'd like.
pro endo. plurality is already stimatized enough, no infighting.
neither proship or antiship, but a secret third thing (wants people to touch grass). tag appropriately and we won't have problems.
fiction influences reality, and vice versa. they are not 1:1 but affect each other. ensuring media comprehension and literacy is important so we don't get things mixed up.
atheist. i do my best to support, but there are some things i simply can't wrap my head around. apologies in advance.
anti ai. as it is now, most ais are built off stolen work and scraped databases. legal protections must be set up.
suicide baiting or calling others slurs is not okay. the only scenario in which it is okay is if both individuals are friends, they're joking, and consented beforehand OR if it's reclaimed and used in a non-negative context. i do not condone anyone in "my community" that suicide baits.
honesty is the best policy. i tend to be blunt and straightforward, simply because i dislike playing the game of social norms. i never mean to offend: i will tell you directly if something offends me.
i do not share donation requests or other forms of reblog bait. i apologize, but i keep this blog as a form of escape and i do not like bringing real life matters up terribly much.
note that this is not a dni. i would, instead, prefer people to keep these in mind when interacting. i reserve the right to block.
if i ever do something offensive and/or juxtaposes with something above, please let me know in a private space.
faq
q: what do you use to draw?
a: i use a samsung galaxy tab s8 and draw in ibispaint.
q: what are mirror pronouns?
a: i borrow your pronouns—hence the phrase 'mirror'. when you refer to me, use your own pronoun set. (ex: if you use she/they, when you refer to me, also use she/they.)
q: what are the dates in the tags of your posts for?
a: i buffer my posts in case i go through an art block phase. the date represents the day i finished work on the file (in mm/dd/yy format).
q: why do you not use alt text?
a: it's usually more accessible to scroll down a little bit than to click a small button in my experience. alt text could be improved, as well, so i find this method best. if any screenreader users have critique, please share!
q: can i make something based on a thing of yours?
a: of course! just @ me in the post + give credit if it's specific enough :]
q: may i use your art as a pfp/phone background/etc?
a: i'm perfectly fine with personal use. just link back to my account if others will see it. if you are profiting off my art, however, that is a whole 'nother conversation we should have in dms.

hi. i want to know things. do you consider yourself one of the below categories, and if so do you call yourself the word queer or not.
a note: this is ONLY about whether or not YOU call YOURSELF this. this is not asking if you are okay with OTHER PEOPLE calling you the word queer.
(i am going to assume if you are ok with other people calling you that than you are ok with/Do call Yourself it? but i know stuff is situational sometimes. that will be its own question in a followup poll i think)
category 1: participation in genders
i'm saying just "genders" instead of "not cis" to include both fully binary trans people, nonbinary people, and agender people (-> people who are never their first gender) and also fluid gender stuff + multiple gender stuff where people are sometimes their first gender and so they're sometimes cis and stuff. also system shit where people have multiple genders and it gets complicated and stuff
this is also to include people who Used To Gender and now have detransitioned/desisted/etc but still feel Weird about calling themselves cis again or still calling themselves not cis. you don't have to worry about it we love and support you here
(yes it is funny to include the "my gender is i don't have it" in the "i have/participate/used to participate in genders" category but idk where else i would put that.)
category 2: same-sex and/or same-gender attraction
are you gay are you lesbian are you homosexual. are you bi are you pan are you any of the other multisexual ones (omni and poly (i think that one's spelled ply to differentiate it from polyamory??? idk it's got a cute candy colored flag tho).
do you experience attraction to people who are in any of the same categories as you, exclusively to that category or including that and others?
(exclusively vs inclusively is like. the difference between lesbian and sapphic. between gay™ and achillean. etc. i know there's words for "nbLnb Only" adn "nbLnb but not only nb" but i don't remember what they are)
category 3: aro and/or ace spectrum
and now for the "do you have attraction to anybody at all lol" category. both this category and the previous one count under "not straight" but i like it when things are specific so i'm differentiating them.
there's no room for "i am completely cisgender heterosexual heteromantic" as its own two options ( @ tumblr up the question limit again) so if you are that and you want to leave input about whether or not you call yourself the word queer for any reason i will read the tags?
hopefully this is worded in as polite and inclusive a way as possible. if you're an asshole on this post i'll block you this is for KNOWLEDGE purposes not DISCOURSE. i did enough of that in 2016 i'm old and tired and there's no point to fighting about it online. go donate money to planned parenthood stand up for people's rights in person that's more important than yelling at people on the internet

From this post:
🌹Rose🌹: send a compliment - you're such a sweet human being! Every time I see you on my timeline it makes me smile (and yes that not only counts when you grace us with her majesty Lou 🤭). 🥰
❀Violet❀: tell someone what makes them unique (does a specific character remind you of them? trope? aesthetic?) - Ransom and Curtis. Mostly Ransom though because I still haven't gotten around to read bodyguard Curtis adventures 😅🙈 Barbie often makes me think of you. Sometimes this meme account on Instagram I follow posts tweets from and account that has the same profile picture as you on here and I immediately think of you. Also I feel obligated to say Mace reminds me of you too 🤭 💙
💮Peony💮: ask would you rather - would you rather have an arranged marriage with Ransom or be Steve's new girlfriend (in the same universe) but have to deal with his father as well
Jaqui! Oh my gosh, you are too sweet. Look at all this niceness! Thank you!!
I will take being known for Ransom and Curtis with pride!! And I feel like I'm probably the loudest Mace apologist on here who doesn't have any actual Mace fic. 🤦‍♀️ I know, I know! I'm working on it! 😅
I'd fully forgotten what my pfp was for a second so I was a little surprised by the Barbie. 😂 But yes, of course! I just realized that means I've had this pfp for almost a year. Maybe it's time for a change... I think I'd want to keep the aroace flag though...
Ok! Now, finally, to your would you rather! Ok, so arranged marriage with Ransom is eventually going to work out well and give you a nice life, but boy, is it a rough road to get there. (I'm working on the next part now and yes, still very sad and rough.) But dating More Than This Steve brings lots of its own complications. Like, are you dating him or is it an arrangement of your own? Cause if it's just dating, I think your position would be pretty precarious with the expectations and responsibilities Steve's family has placed on him. Like, yes, he has a lot more agency than his step-sister but he's not exempt from everything either. But even with all that, I think I'd still go with Steve because you know he'd fight for and support you through all of it.

JTTW Chapter 23 Thoughts
Chapter 23 for the @journeythroughjourneytothewest Reading Group!
Right off the bat the title in the J. F. Jenner version is “Sanzang Does Not Forget the Basic”, which is so casual I find it rather hilarious. It sounds like he is good at Math and put through a middle school Math test.
Right away the German translation brings up an interesting point that Autumn here is a stand-in for aging.
While I’m at it with the season, it also specifies the month in the notes as October! Spooky season! Given what our pilgrims are about to go through rather fitting.
“[D]on’t use the whip” yes, thank you, I do not trust Tang Sanzang with a whip around a horse.
Ah, a little reminder for the reader that this whole thing is an allegory as well.
And we finally get to know what their travelling gear consists of!
The horsey got scared, that doesn’t make him mean! Like what. I feel like Bailong Ma gets way more flag than he deserves whenever he’s actually mentioned and not just left out by the narrative all together.
Tang Sanzang held on this time! I was not expecting that to be honest. Much like Sun Wukong I expected him to go flying off the horse.
Also I see what Sun Wukong did there. He taught Zhu Bajie a practical lesson that while yes the horse can go faster it actually is in Bajie’s own interest for him to trot at a more leisurely pace. Smart monkey.
With it being October in mind and Tang Sanzang’s mention of not entering a place uninvited I can’t help but picture him in a little vampire Halloween costume.
I love the descriptions meant as compliments but appearing silly to foreigners. Hm yes, onions. It’s very funny and interesting as well to think about why that comparison might be considered a compliment.
Tang Sanzang.exe stopped working. Or rather by my guess just doesn’t want to deal with this, which I feel that, I would try to opt out of dealing with something like this as well.
There is quite the meaning to the birthday the Lady Jia is mentioning! Something explained in the German translation. For the year Ding means fire and Hai means water. The month is associated with wood while the hour You belongs to the element of metal. All opposite to each other, so very inauspicious!
Those last lines of Sanzang’s counter-poem were a bit rude, but he’s pretty riled up at the moment, so it shall be forgiven by the audience with hindsight.
Ah Sun “I ain’t staying, my aroace self could never” Wukong.
Zhu Bajie look, his mind was short-circuiting, he’s allowed some slack here. Good on calling him out for being rude though still! Consequences for people’s actions, we love to see them acknowledged!
Ah the only thing Sun Wukong really cares about regarding a wedding is food and drink, such an aroace thing to do.
To be fair they kind of group pressured Zhu Bajie. He may very well had just tried to get them a meal and lodging for the night with some hallow promises and nice words like he told Tang Sanzang he should have done, but they pushed it like he meant it no questions asked. I feel this outcome might have been a bit unfair.
Though Tang Sanzang telling Sun Wukong not to ridicule his little brother like a Dad gave me such a sense of found family.
In general I really enjoy these social interactions, like yeah the fights are nifty too, but love the actual discussions between them and it’s such a treat whenever they really show how close they have grown already.

I want to talk about my day yesterday presenting my pride flag bracelet project at school! :D (if you're not interested feel free to scroll by)
So yesterday at school was the day where the students graduating from my school in my program (International Baccalaureate, or IB) have to present their end-of-year project, that they create themselves and set their own criteria and use to learn new skills and gain new experiences and such. I had all year to work on it with the help of my personal project mentor, my old science teacher who helped me set my schedules and organize my stuff. The presentations lasted the whole day with IB students of the other grade levels coming during the day and in the evening, we presented to our parents, some graduates of the program, and the parents of kids who possibly want to join the IB program at our school.
So my project was to make a total of 315 bracelets with the colours of 21 different pride flags (rainbow, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, omnisexual, aromantic, asexual, aroace, abrosexual, trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, genderqueer, agender, bigender, trigender, demiboy, demigirl, and demigender) to sell this summer at the pride parade happening in Montreal. All the money I would make is going to Jag, an lgbtqia+ organization. I also sold some bracelets to students at my school on Valentine's Day and I was offering some during the presentations as well. This was my poster:
Tumblr media
I got to stand beside my friends for the presentation, so that was fun. Anyway, here are a few nice things that happened during the day:
One of my friends bought like ten bracelets for herself and her friends, and she'd invited over some more of her friends to see her presentation and they bought some too!
One of her friends had a really nice colourful button-up shirt and I wanted to compliment it but I was too shy, but when they asked to buy an asexual bracelet they complimented me on my shirt and my hair!! So I told them I liked their shirt as well.
A bunch of adults (and some students) said while reading my display "wow, I never knew there were so many flags! I only knew about the rainbow one!" and most of them looked genuinely interested to learn about the different flags and their meanings. A lady also told me "oh my gosh, more people should know this! This is important!"
A young kid, maybe 10-11 years old here with his mom, listened to my presentation and told me it was cool, and asked me if I was lgbtq myself. I said yes, lesbian and asexual, and I pointed at the corresponding flags on my display, and he gave me a thumbs-up and said "Awesome! I support you". (Seriously it was so cute)
I got complimented a lot on how nice the bracelets looked, and how much time it must've taken to make them.
There was also this retired teacher who used to work at this school and who always came back for the project fair, the first openly gay teacher in the school and the former leader of the school's Rainbow Alliance Club, who came by to compliment me on my project, he bought two bracelets and gave me five dollars and told me to have a happy Pride this summer.
And there was this really nice old man who came to see my project, listened really attentively when I explained it, asked me questions about the organization the money was going to, and then took me by the shoulder and said "I think it's wonderful that in this generation, you can do a project like this and present it. Back when I was your age, you couldn't do something like this, and it's just amazing that it exists now. Who are we to judge others, right? Good job on the project." and he called his wife over to show her all the bracelets I'd made and she said they were beautiful.
So anyway I had a really god time even though I was exhausted by the end of the day. It was so nice to have people genuinely interested in my project and the pride flags, and I can't wait to sell them at the Pride Parade this summer! (:

11 for Scott, 12 for Virgil and 14 for John? 😊
ahhh thank you (both for the ask and for waiting while I slept :DDD)
11. A queer headcanon for Scott
I have so many fluid headcanons for everyone (bc I find that more fun personally!!) but I'm going to elaborate on aro Scott bc I was meaning to do that before I crashed at the beginning of the week lol
cw sex mention as a heads up :)
Aro Scott is very near and dear to me simply because I think he's such a good example of a person who loves so fiercely, just not romantically lol :D He loves his family and friends so much, they colour everything he does, and I like the idea of him not really knowing until John comes out as aroace and Scott's like huh tell me more and kind of really intensely interrogating him until John loses his temper a bit bc he thinks Scott just doesn't believe him, and Scott's like "well EVERYONE feels that way" and then John goes all quiet and is like "uh, no they don't, it's normal but not as common" and Scott goes away and has his lil crisis and then comes back a week later and is all "okay so I might be aroace too but I still want to have sex" and John's just like "I hate you so much right now I do NOT want to have this conversation with you" and anyway they muddle along and Scott eventually figures out he's aromantic and allosexual and he has a good time with it :D
12. How Virgil would show off his identity
I feel like Virgil would be pretty lowkey and not do anything too overt. I think he'd enjoy going to pride and walking down the street holding hands with his date, and as an artist I feel like he'd really enjoy subtly showing off the colours of his flag (yes I'm being ambiguous here bc I don't have a set headcanon, I know, shocker!). I can 100% see him as the guy that never really comes out, but just is himself so authentically he makes it look effortless and nobody ever questions a thing :D
14. How John would come out
Oh man, it's either the most matter of fact statement over dinner where he's just like "look I don't want any false assumptions here, these are the facts" OR it's the most angst ridden, nerve wracked, over thought rush of words to Scott and Scott only and then he just never mentions it again and Scott's like wth John are you telling people or not and John just very unhelpfully shrugs and says do what you like and Scott's like NO BECAUSE THERE'S A RIGHT ANSWER HERE AND IF I PICK WRONG YOU'LL BE MAD AT ME and John's just :| *hangs up* Eventually he tells Alan, but only bc Alan's questioning his own identity and Alan spills the beans to everyone and everyone (in the family at least) was like oh yeah, that tracks cool.
While the first scenario is more likely, I think that the second scenario would be way funnier, he's just like "Scott it's YOUR queer crisis now"

I fucking hate Instagram and I only have like 5 followers there anyway AND i wanted to hear other people’s thoughts, so I’m posting this here. so here are my buffyverse headcanons!
I also think drusilla, darla, lilah and lindsey are all bisexual, clem is gay, dawn I’m not too sure about just because she only shows interest in one boy and no one else, and xander is simultaneously the straightest man alive and is completely obsessed with men (see - spike, angel, jonathan in superstar, did I mention spike) which is why I think his bisexuality is inarguable. also in case you don’t know the flags, illyria is agender and aroace, which is canon just never explicitly stated because 1, they didn’t have the terminology back then, and 2, shes an ancient all powerful eldritch demon possessing a dead body, so maybe human rules don’t apply to her. yes I see willow as pansexual, but I included sapphic too because even though all pansexual women are obviously sapphic, willow shows a clear focus and preference for women post tara. also cordy is bi because she had a crush on buffy and also because I said so <3
please please please do comment your own thoughts and headcanons and opinions because I’m really interested to know just how much the gays have claimed these characters
