She was born in Auckland🇳🇿 and was raised in Titirangi by her father, John George Whitfield "Mac" McIver (b. 1951), a photographer, and her mother, Ann "Annie" (née Coney), an artist. Her parents still reside in the house in which she grew up. She has an older brother, Paul McIver, who is a musician and former actor. She studied ballet and jazz dance until she was thirteen.

She began her career with guest appearances in New Zealand-based series, such as Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Legend of the Seeker. She also had recurring roles in the Showtime period drama series Masters of Sex (2013–14) and the ABC fantasy adventure drama series Once Upon a Time (2013–2017). She is currently starring in the CBS supernatural sitcom Ghosts (2021–present).

She is a New Zealand actress. She starred as Olivia "Liv" Moore in The CW supernatural comedy-drama series iZombie (2015–2019) and played Summer Landsdown the Yellow Ranger in Power Rangers RPM (2009). She also played the role of Amber Moore in the romantic comedy film A Christmas Prince (2017) and its two sequels The Royal Wedding (2018), and The Royal Baby (2019).

I have discovered that apparently Beast Morphers resolves plotlines from RPM, which obviously I haven’t seen.

I remember hearing about that season (RPM) and being SO upset about like, the fact that it was a apocalyptic setting because I assumed it impacted the characters I loved from past seasons. But I am glad they put it in an AU.

This shit came to when when I was watching RPM

can you imagine yuu being a power ranger and being transported to another dimension

yuu probably wouldn’t be too surprised bc its fucking power rangers and god knows what happens there and im pretty sure dimension hopping is something that’s canon

the thing that makes yuu panic the most is the fact that it means their team is down one ranger and they need to find a way back bc oh god another monster is roaming earth 

i like to imagine yuu being a red ranger too which makes it works jason where are u when i need you

in my head it would make sense for yuu to morph during the first overblot but my other brain is like

yuu doesn’t know if their usual attacks would help against overblots so they wait

i like to imagine this would go two ways when it comes to the plot or at least the twst universe as a whole

1)the power rangers don’t exist at all so ppl are confused on who this person in red spandex is

like the Great Seven has Maleficent would they really need the power rangers

so when a typical power ranger type enemy appears and yuu morphs everyone is like what the fuck since when did yuu have magic

the other thing i think of is

2) the power rangers do exist have existed in history but they haven’t been seen for hundreds if not thousands of years

like yuu’s presence had awakened a being that was the original enemy of the old power rangers and they storm nrc demanding where the power rangers are

and yuu has to morph bc theres its their duty and they need to protect the ppl around them

everyone is in awe bc they thought the power rangers stopped existing but they have one in the flesh right in front of them

crowley has to make sure this doesn’t and spread to the public bc who knows what would happen if it did

it’s very hard bc 1) nosy teens and 2) how tf can u keep monsters attacks a secret

either way its just a mix of awe and fear in both scenarios

imagine if they’re something like in power rangers samurai when theyre cute things when unactivated

but when the enemies supersize and the zords turn into those big megazords

bro ignihyde is about to have a field day bc what the f u c k

i like to think ignihyde would be interested in the morphers and zords and want to pick them apart 

but yuu refuses bc that shit is important so they have to resort to trying to steal it

i also like to think that when yuu starts to hang out with the first years more they start to see resemblances of their other ranger friends

like not them being official rangers with their own morphers but have the personality of one having said morpher

its not based by hair color either bc theres no fucking way ace trappola is a red ranger

jack has the dependable second in command aura so he would be the blue ranger

ace would be the black ranger bc how much he rebelled against riddle during heartsabyul arc and how hes so adamant against the rules

deuce would be green partially bc comic relief but also bc hes kinda stubborn

white ranger sebek bc of the nobility and bravery he always has

yellow ranger epel bc i like to imagine that he is someone who ties the whole group together

i also like to imagine that instead of crowley refusing to find yuu a way home the other rangers would find a way home bc again dimension travel is a normal thing

that wouldn’t stop yuu from visiting from time to time but just not often and too long bc saving the world takes a lot of free time yknow

the other rangers pop in from time to time bc a land of disney? w o a h

yuu refuses to let twst ppl visit them instead until they decide its safe for them to visit

Yuu: Monsters could attack at any moment!
