Screams into the American Void:
This is Not just a Presidential Election
There will be 33 Senate Seats and 435 Congressional Seats OPEN FOR ELECTION
Vote fucking blue.
I am Not affiliated with a political party.
I am vehemently anti a 2 party state
However when the difference is between a professional political leader who may make policy I disagree with
And a party trying to DISENFRANCHISE and Strip civil rights away from my people.
There is ONLY one answer.
Vote Blue
Vote Harris
Vote for the Blue in your area.
If you wish to have a discussion about political parties with me, my DMs are open.

Hey guys, I’m normally not political at all and I will not express any explicit opinions here but…
November 5th, tomorrow, is election day in the US, and I’m just here to say:
If you are a citizen of the United States and you are 18+ years old, you need to vote.
This election is extremely important, for the presidential office and others. The outcome will affect literal billions of lives. It is no longer about the US, but about the climate, the wars in Palestine and Ukraine, and so much more. Even still, if you live in America, it will affect you immensely.
Have your say in it.
If you don’t know how or who to vote for: there are thousands of resources on it if you do just a quick google search. Make sure you are registered and are in line on November 5th.

Is Kamala the greatest option we have ever had?
No.
Is the Democratic Party a bastion of change and hope?
No.
Are they a better alternative to a literal Tyrannical Evangelical Christian State?
HELL YES. Why the fuck would ask that? We can vote to split into multiple parties later we have to get rid of this heritage foundation think pot Now.
VOTE for Kamala
VOTE for the Dems in your local and state elections
VOTE blue
You do not have to be registered Dem, just stop the orange felon from getting into office.

My 9 year old: mommy, who was the worst president?
Me: oooofffff. That's hard.
11 year old: Trump, right?
Me: he's definitely a solid contender
11yo: who's worse than Trump? Was it the one that was impeached?
Me: Reagan created the Welfare Queen lie that still persists today and encouraged the death of hundreds of thousands of gay men sooooo.
11yo: oh okay
Me: or Andrew Jackson who literally committed genocide. Another solid contender
11yo: so he's the one that was impeached, right
Me: uh, no. I believe he was lauded
9yo: why are there so many awful presidents?
Me: voters and non-voters. Good people aren't voting

Y'all I did NOT know this about Harris, and I think it's really critical that we all listen and understand as we approach this election. Video at the end.
This creator's video describes how progressive Harris was as a prosecutor -- actively going against the grain to the point she was accused of being soft on crime. Accused of being a social worker, not a prosecutor. She calls it being smart on crime. She's pushing for systemic changes to give real pathways to reintegrate incarcerated folks back into society and prevent their past from continuing to haunt them moving forward.
"Kamala's a cop" is a catchy dismissive response usually used to shut down conversation rather than add nuance. But this kind of reform is ESSENTIAL to work towards a present and future that treats incarcerated people with value.
I fell for it in 2020 and have thought "Kamala's a cop" without further inspection since - and I'm sobered by the realization that (you guessed it!) I'm not immune to propaganda.
A better system only follows liberal democracy, because library democracy allows for exploration of better systems. If authoritarianism takes hold, it will not allow for the exploration of better systems. We will have to fight tooth and nail just to try to get back to liberal democracy, and I suspect we could not achieve it in our lifetimes.
Harris isn't perfect. But she's a hell of a lot better than many leftists have led me to believe. Don't let perfection be the enemy of good. Don't let perfection be the enemy of harm reduction.
We can either help elect Trump and usher in authoritarian fascism, or we can help defeat him and pull things back in the direction we want to go. Not liking the choices doesn't absolve you from participating and doing the most good you can with the options available.
I'll link the original video in the replies. The original video has captions if you need them.

Literally begging anyone who can vote in US elections to vote, and to vote against Trump. Which means voting for Harris, not abstaining or voting third party.
My family actually did move here from an authoritarian country, where voting literally didn't matter, they literally did throw out your vote, and they literally did assassinate citizens who spoke out against them.
We would all very much like to keep living in a country where those things are not the case!
You know, the same things that Trump and his stooges have openly said they want to do. And two of the main propaganda lines for why people in the US shouldn't vote, which is a lie.
Voting matters. The parties are not the same.
And make sure to vote in down-ballot races!!!
And like. The fact that voting matters in the US is a very real reason for hope. It is something you should genuinely appreciate. We can make a difference.
And a lot of people risked their lives or even died to earn that right, and it's a right not everyone has.

We deserve more than two parties
We NEED to vote for Kamala
Both are and can be true.
But we cannot get to more parties and ranked voting if we have no democracy left to change.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Kamala/Walz going up DAILY, I've seen more people talking about voting third party/Jill Stein (EW) and I believe the above screencaps from @three--rings can explain WHY Third Party votes NEVER work NOR is this the election to screw around in.
Everyone....like she says above.....PLEASE LEARN FROM HISTORY!!!
(Because if Trump gets in, he's NEVER LEAVING).

Listen up.
The current Supreme Court is a 6-3 conservative majority.
Justice Thomas, that corrupt fascist fucker, is 75.
Justice Alito, that biased fascist fucker, is 74.
Each is married to a fascist ultra right wing woman. Ginny Thomas was actively involved in Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Martha Ann Alito is the alleged source of the ultra right wing flags on the Alito homes.
If Trump is elected in 2024, Thomas and Alito will retire, just like Kennedy did in 2018. Trump will get to appoint two more justices in their 50s.
Like sexual assaulter and liar Kavanaugh. Or handmaid's tale Coney Barrett. And the conservative majority will be on lock for thirty years. Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett are in their 50s.
Add two more ultraconservative justices in their 50s and you have a five seat conservative majority for 30 years if they live natural lifetimes.
If Trump is elected in 2024, we've not only lost the Court for at least a decade (now) but another thirty years.
What other civil rights would you like to lose? Because YOU WILL. We ALL will.
Can we fucking not? CAN WE FUCKING NOT?
Vote for Biden.
Vote for Democrats for the Senate.

I’m in the South. I’ve got ears to the ground. Republicans are SWEATING at the prospect of Kamala being nominated. They’re not sure Trump can beat her.
Let’s prove them right.

On the one hand I would prefer a functional government, but on the other, the sheer comedy and Schadenfreude of the House Republicans descending into petty, humiliating chaos while the Dem folks are showing up with literal popcorn and chanting for their own Speaker nominee like this is a high school sports game is filling me with manic glee.

The solutions HAVE TO BE FEDERAL.
We have to work AS A NATION.
Because if one or two states figure it out then everyone will go to them and their resources will be taxed.
Homeless populations in one’s Nation are a NATIONAL ISSUE to solve.
Should be an emergent one, actually.
Call your congressmen. Call your Senators.
And VOTE.
And VOTE BLUE.
Also, like, I'm sorry but if you've set up a free shelter, and people refuse to go because sleeping on the sidewalk under a freeway bridge is more pleasant, that's fucking on you, that's not on them.
You really can't compete with sleeping under the overpass so you are going to force people into shelter?
Unspeakably cruel and stupid.
