I don't think the fandom talks enough about how traumatizing the mines of Moria must've been for the hobbits.
And I'm not referring to Gandalf's death (this is actually quite discussed), that's "oh no, they've killed grandpa".
I'm talking about the members of the Company of Thorin Oakenshield they've found dead. The hobbits grew up listening to the tales of their adventure and their extraordinary deeds.
Just thinking about how 15-16 Soukoku would have the most serious pillow fights. Dazai starts it by tossing at a pillow at Chuuya's face and doesn't realize it until it's too late that he made the worst mistake of his life because he just waged war. Chuuya plays to win.
But I feel like Dazai, realizing he was starting to lose, would start playing dirty by trying to tickle Chuuya instead. He may not have the strength to bonk Chuuya with pillows over and over again, but he wouldn't go down without a fight either.
Mori questions the dark bags under the eyes the next day and Dazai just has a thousand-yard stare. It's a long, sleepless story full of getting bonked upside the head and pillows flying everywhere.
Not only is the piña colada dream team possible within this game, but it also somehow becomes a piña colada dream triangle (arrow?)(competition?????).
Every other BG3 relationship you can have is either wholesome or tragic, but only Greygold is able to find the one that is a Godsdamn Mess. It's fine, they can work with this.
I feel like if the bobby from the animated show and the bobby from the game met, there'd be some moments. I also would head cannon Game Bobby as being more experienced. There will possibly be more of this.
At first I really wanted to make him like- completely unnoticeable and nobody fuggin remembers him despite being a member JDHDHFHHF- but I wanted to make him interact with Dr.Stone so instead he’s a member thats just rarely seen anymore (Wally totally didn’t get rid of him cause he kept being fuggin annoyin)
kinda all brawls no brains like sally- used to chaotically collect debts peeps have with the ol mob (still does but significantly less since now he’s a fetcher for Dr Stone for more harder to get goods the mob needs. The mob technically can go without the help of Dr.Stone, however he is a middle man that knows just about everything needed for successful heists/deals with his knowledge and name alone)
also? This dude doesn’t know what a bed is he sleeps on just about anything (can sleep like a baby face first in a trash can)
Something something you’re talking to a friend who says something cringe/embarrassing/etc and say “Kate Laswell herself couldn’t waterboard that information out of me” and lo and behold who is behind you but none other than the woman the myth the legend herself
Hey Tolkien people and history buffs of Tumblr, I'm in need of your assistance. Does anybody know if there was an actual historical inspiration (or many) to the narrow, no rails, stone bridge of Khazad-dûm?
For context, I'm trying to use it as an example in my theoretical physics dissertation on the dynamics of pedestrians moving in a single line, but I've already met with some resistance from advisors with No Taste. All my google searches have conducted to analyses of the effectiveness of the Khazad-dûm scene in the book & movie, instead of an analysis of the actual "physical" bridge.
I know I could use other modern examples from construction scaffolds or bus and plane boarding/exiting schemes for single-line movement, but that's boring. Uninspired. Everyone does it. What I want is a badass illustration from The Lord of the Rings, and a JRR Tolkien quote on my very theoretical, so abstract that is basically useless, physics dissertation.
Get ready to rock and roll with a new steddie fanfiction by @thefreakandthehair & @sidekick-hero with art by me!!!

Eddie, you and Gareth have worked very closely over the years with him as your second in command, so to speak. What’s it been like with Steve now stepping into the drummer role?
Eddie: “It’s been… different. Definitely a big adjustment but you know what they say. The show must go on, and all that shit.”
Steve: “I can’t speak for everyone— that’s Eddie’s job— but all things considered, the ship is still sailing, Gareth’s been super helpful, and I think fans have a ton to get excited about.”
