The second one may or may not be true, although again, if I could afford multiple ropes of REAL pearls in unexpected places, I'd be spending the money on thylacines.

It wouldn't be the first time I had used pearls in decorating, but real pearls are not cost-effective in decorating even if you already own them because you will have to have them restrung a lot.

Unfortunately using actual pearl necklaces as decor when you are not wearing them has a result and that result is spending a lot too much money on having them all properly restrung. Real pearls are very heavy and much of the cost of a good pearl necklace is the labour of stringing them. Cheap real pearl necklaces aren't knotted between each pearl, and the reason the knots are necessary is that if you wear them a lot or don't store them lying down, the weight of the pearls will eventually break the string. If they are knotted, you only have to crawl under furniture looking for one or two. If not, good luck finding all of them.

     That wasn't sufficient, however. Not if he had the genuine attention to improve every day, puzzle out various strategies and learn strengths and weaknesses against different forms of magic and fighting styles. Refusing to settle into a specific pattern did not only assist to prevent himself from getting into a rut but it could be absolutely essential for future battles. Different training partners weren't chosen for only his entertainment but it was a decision born out of logical reasoning. He needed to keep himself challenged, needed to keep gathering knowledge of different shape and form - and today it was no less a person than Jellal Fernandes who would fill the role of not only a person to analyze and keep an attentive eye on, though as a training partner as well.

     It was an honor, really. Jellal as a wizard was knowledgable in various types of magic, he had a high intellect and his amount of magic power did not need to be discussed. The Raijinshuu's captain was genuinely looking forward to this, deft fingers curling and uncurling in a sense of anticipation. This might just be the greatest challenge he's had to face in quite a while and whilst he was utterly aware that neither of them would be able to give it their all in a scenario such as this one, it would be enough for a high degree of satisfaction.

     Edges of his lips had been curled upwards in a satisfied smile, grazing the line to an almost challenging smirk, before facial expression turned back into the very definition of stern and focused. Right hand hovered above the hilt of his sword and the next moment he'd drawn it in a fluent motion, raising it towards Jellal. With the sharp tip of his rapier pointing at his opponent, he'd beckon for the beginning of their session at last.

     "Don't hold yourself back any more than we both have to. Show me exactly what I am lacking." And perhaps, hopefully, he would be able to pose some sort of challenge as well.

you're exceptional at knowing scott's strengths, insecurities, and limitations and how these would all impact his life and relationships. and from a meta perspective, it's always a joy to write with you because while we all LOVE scott lang in this house, it doesn't feel like you write him in a way that's to put him on a pedestal or just to push his agenda. he's so grounded and real, which is yet another expression of your inherent scott-isms.

i always love to see how YOU come through in your scott portrayal and how scott comes through in you with our own interactions, too. you both have the best traits of each other, and it's my greatest honor and pleasure to call you both friend and get to share creative space with you. you were one of the first RP blogs i interacted with personally and ic, and i am eternally proud of that fact.
