I hate men because today after years of my brother mocking me whenever I talk about something Iâm well informed on by saying I did no research I finally told him how much it upsets me. So straight after he brought up my male assault statistics and called them fake before leaving.
#like wdym you think 80% of violent crimes being committed by men is a âfake statisticâ how would that be fake itâs based on the imprisonment#ratios!!! Males will always feign ignorance to defend their kind no matter how âkindâ and âgoodâ they are#justice to my youngest bro tho (Iâm raising him w feminist beliefs as best I can so he can be as close to a real good man as possible) who#chased after him and started asking him if he heard they were fake on Reddit (moid bros fave place to say I get my facts from)#my youngest bro is still a moid and he has his misogynistic moments (mostly interrupting me/heâll swim underwater when I talk as a norm)#but heâs NOWHERE near as bad as my other bro in how often and rudely he does this (my other bro also does other worse things whereas this is#all the lil guy does [I like to believe I can teach him to be a proper good guy even tho I probs cant])#but yeah fuck all men theyâre all misogynists#some are better than others and maybe we can âfixâ them (but we shouldnât have to- I only do this w my lil bro cuz Iâm stuck with him NEVER#try this with a friend or bf who you can end the relationship with at any point)#but theyâre all misogynistic in some way or another#sunni posts#radblr#radical feminism#radical feminist safe#radical feminists do interact#radical feminists please touch#radical feminists do touch#radical feminists please interact#radical feminist community#trans exclusionary radical feminism

The way fans on the st sub are almost all in agreement Nancy ending up with neither Jon nor Steve wouldnât be the worst thing in the world, and how they can even come up with a sleuth of reasons as to why, honestly pretty valid and fair reasons, but then are absolutely gobsmacked when fans merely speculate something along those lines for El is, quite something.
#el hopper#byler#platonic elmike#stranger things#this is coming from someone who ADORED mileven in s1-2#I literally skipped all of s2 in my rewatch before s3 aired bc I just wanted to see their reunion#then s3 happened#and I was confused at#A LOT of ppl are#and anyone coming to voice that confusion is ran off Reddit like theyâre committing a crime#like would it hurt yâall to have some of the same common sense you have for el like you do with Nancy#??#I am more jancy leaning but also I just feel like itâs certain stancy ainât happening#but Iâm also not totally against Nancy wanting to be on her own for a while#maybe theyâd imply jancy Will find their way back to each other#maybe theyâre teamed up in s5 and wait until the very end to cement that certainty for each other#but I would not hate their stories if Nancy and Jon decided to live their own lives#FOR THEMSELVES#Nancy doing what she wants and loves#Jonathan doing what he wants instead of just doing stuff that helps people around him#and Iâm not going to even get into the reasons why el and mike would benefit from living for themselves outside of their relationship#the attachment to the ship is stronger than any sort of attachment to the character#and when the things keeping them together are not strong to begin withâŚ#that attachment is doomed and hard to watch and enjoy like idgi at all#also; all the pro-ronance comments on there getting like 30+ likes??#go ronance I guess??!??#idk if itâs because they think byler actually has a serious possibility while ronance has less build up#so they can sort of play with that idea without actually having to take it seriouslyâŚ#at least ronance has a positive audience on there#a win is a win I guess đđŤĄ

unpopular opinion but i think that a lot of the people who hate quinn are just like quinn and hate to see him being himself in such a public setting bc they feel like since they donât feel safe to act like themself nobody should

i just. hit s+ rank in splatoon and i never honestly thought this would happen?? am i cool now.. do i get to be a part of the s4? do i get to be watered down to my running joke all the time?
#the last part is a joke but i do not see a whole lot of recognition of the s4 being. the s4#like yeah they were cool formidable foes in the s1 era and skull even beat goggles despite his plot armor#but now theyre just#there??#dont get me wrong i love their existence but#it feels like theyve been watered down at least a bit#skull is always just getting lost and army is almost always either the manual guy or the curry guy#thats. thats it thats their bits#skull also has the sweets thing#rider is sometimes a considerable foe too but at the same time the s4 doesnt usually consist of him so im not sure how much to count him#that being said it is a kids manga so i dont really expect it to lean too far into the formidable foes thing#even the xblood werent that scary in the long run and ended up goofy despite being who they were#i also get it in terms of fandom#i understand the appeal of something like aloha being cutesy dumb pink guy (who maaaaaaybe commited some crimes and it shows)#i also definitely understand the appeal of army having a thing for curry as well as the manuals#the manuals can be an endearing thing to write about trust me#but i also wouldnt mind seeing more things that center around the likes of the s4 and the xblood and even the best8 being the absolute best#of the best during their prime#reminder that s+ was the highest rank around when the s4 were introduced. same with the xblood#they were the strongest players and id like to see things that center around that#id like to imagine that moving on to the square and splatsville that the s4 would have had a chance to move uo and get into xbattles#i think of all of them skull and army would have the highest chances of actually making it to xrank and being successful#but honestly if mask and aloha could probably make it pretty well too if they got off their asses#and i think rider would excel as well being rider#he has his own kind of near plot armour i think#so do most of the big teams in my opinion#theyre the sort of doomed by the plot that forces them to battle goggles at some point lmao#maybe i could use this in a fic or au one day#maybe someone already has...#(please send to me if you know of any creators who have played around with these vague ideas of strength i wanna see em)

there is no future or liberation for any movements that sees their "enemies" as non-human
#having read accounts of some of the most soul-destroyingly cruel and evil actions taking during genocides by their perpetrators#i understand how easy it is to divorce these people from our concepts of humanity and logic but like#nothing will be solved unless you understand that these people commiting these crimes are in fact human#and nearly nothing seperates you from them but your situations. nothing. there is no inherent moral center that these people lack.#if we were raised in these circumstances we too would do these things. the reasons people within these systems reject them is not because#they are uniquely better and more human than the majority of their ethnic group / fellow nationals / whatever#but that they were in circumstances that allowed them to understand that they were being lied to#these people actually do have be engaged with and accepted as human beings. you can not kill or remove every person who has participated#its doesnt work like that. it has never worked like that. changing things is awful demoralizing generational work that we may never see the#results of but it very literally is the only option. any solution that denys the humanity of any of the parties involved will fail and will#leave all these issues for the next generation to solve. the only way forward is to destroy THE SYSTEM creating these circumstances and hope#it leaves a better world for the children.

Do you support prison abolition /paying prisoners a living wage / making being able to vote more accessible to everyone?
I like your stances and opinions and your jokes but I'm genuinely curious on this one.
(This is inspired by some of the comments under one of your posts talking about how we should just make democracy more livable under capitalism, and while I disagree with that being the ONLY thing we need to do, it does kinda make me think about how many people think we need to get better without abolishing prisons or at least treating our prisoners better than we are treating them currently.)
hi! i'm not sure which post you're referring to but I'm actually anti-capitalist. I think we need to dismantle capitalism as a system because it is inherently inhumane, working exactly as intended and therefore cannot be "fixed" without restructuring it entirely from the ground up; the devaluation of human labor and environmental destruction for profit is not a bug, it's a feature. i could delve into the kind of economic system that i think should replace it after dismantling it, however it's more of a thought exercise and until it becomes a plausible reality, i would rather focus on how we can make capitalism livable for the time being because we have no other choice. for example we could start by lowering rent, instituting a 4-day work week, and establishing support networks for homeless people. i'm not an economist so it's not like i have all the answers but according to the results from other countries who have applied these practices, it improves quality of life and the economy significantly.
as for prisons, i'm pro-abolition. you can check out my prison abolition tag for more information, but essentially prisons exist in this day and age as an industry that profits off of slave labor. many of our laws and their enforcers unfairly target minorities and lower class people, and the denial of convicts the right to vote is just another way our government strips vulnerable communities of their political power, autonomy, and supposedly inalienable rights. aside from the conviction of innocent people and people who did commit a crime but ultimately did no harm, i don't think it's the right of any individual (or government, for that matter) to imprison others. i think people tend to forget that "criminals" are human beings and deserving of the same rights as everyone else, and it is human nature to make mistakes. the important thing is the opportunity to do better. militarist propaganda has done an incredible job of convincing us that convicts are amoral and undeserving of our sympathy, turning society in general against them and destroying any sort of safety net they might have had or needed otherwise. and people are too busy clinging to the notion that criminals are subhuman and deserving of whatever punishment is dealt that they can't see that this is a slide into fascism, and that they can just as easily become "other" should they find themselves on the receiving end of the system. we are very close to living in a surveillance state, which means any minor offense or slip-up has the potential to completely decimate your chances at getting a job, applying for college, getting a loan, receiving housing, and especially being able to have a say in elections. it also makes you more likely to be arrested again on account of "suspected illegal activity", so your record follows you around for the rest of your life.
sorry this got so long but yeah, essentially capitalism and the prison industry are inhumane and should be abolished.
#voter suppression#prison abolition#militarism#capitalism#52018#racism#classism#1312#also before anyone brings up r/pe or other genuinely awful crimes that endanger people i have to posit the question:#how can we account for those crimes when the people arrested for them are are mainly minorities?#need i remind you that white women used to accuse black men of assault just to weaponize their white privilege?#to exert power over them out of fear or hatred? people convicted for violent crimes are disproportionately trans poor and POC#while the rest of people actually committing those crimes walk free because of the privileges of being cis/het/white/upper-class#and like. thats not to say that those crimes should go unrecognized. but the system we have and the people enforcing it are just not#capable of doing so fairly. they look for signs of abusive behavior in race. gender. sex. age. class. sexuality. religious beliefs.#very little investigation is performed and hardly any empirical data is used in ruling. if they cared about victims at all they would focus#on preventing abuse before it happens and giving us support and access to people and services who can help. as a victim and survivor#the gov did not give a shit about my abuse. we cant make a system built on suffering care about any of us.#and like. yall are so confident you'll be able to decide who is 'good' and who is 'bad' but you can't. its like the shit with amber heard.#everyone was so caught up in defending their favorite actor they disregarded a woman's account of her abuse and made her out to be crazy an#evil#and i know you think youre different and we can do it differently but it happens over and over and over again#tldr we cant use a system to prosecute the ''evil people of society'' that is built on defining those traits through a racist misogynistic#etc lens#if we could we wouldnt even be in this mess

You know i know we love dehumanizing people on tumblr dot com and the internet at large but maybe if y'all could be a bit less openly gleeful about random-ass people you know nothing about dying in terror at the bottom of the ocean because they were rich
#if it was some specific#like look#if king charlie suffocated and got crushed to death in an imploding submarine#i would meme it up with the best of them#but doing it about people you know LITERALLY nothing about other than their income bracket#no names no demographics nothing#is the sort of mentality that leads to war crimes#not that any of you have anywhere close to the balls to start a single fight much less commit war crimes#but it's still ugly

is there any fanart, fanfic, or other fanworks about Bumi and Toph hanging out? Bc two incredibly powerful earth bending chaos gremlins being even 30 feet close to each other is a recipe for disaster that we should be exploring
#toph and any other character is a great combo bc I love toph#But toph and bumi?? Yes#Toph shows bumi metal bending and heâs like WHY DIDNT I EVER THINK OF THAT?? TOPH YOU ARE THE MAD GENIUS#and bumi rebuilds omashu and goes sliding in the mail system with toph#bumi keeps the metal box the fire nation kept him imprisoned in as a souvenir and he and toph play around with it#sometimes bumi can be responsible and a good mentor for toph#but occasionally he forces toph to be the responsible one which she hates#more often than not they just commit crimes and create inconveniences together and drive everyone crazy#they rebuild the earth kingdom together just the two of them bc they are that powerful#maybe suki would have fun with them too since sheâs from the earth kingdom. smth smth fawnâs self rivalry in the siblings!au
#gideon shut the hell up challenge#bc we keep randomly thinking abt how Absolutely Devastating the museum is in sibs!au it ofc led to#us thinking abt the heartache of having to see river take up the sidestep name#to have (who you think is) some stranger waltz in and just stake a claim on arguably the single most important thing in your life#(read: the sidestep name bc itâs all you have left of ur brothers)#BUT. then we started thinking abt how they Also take up the sidestep name again#and the agonizing self-loathing and Constant Mourning that they go through every time they commit a crime#bc itâs not just their own hero memory who they are corrupting and bastardizing but Their BrothersââŚâŚ..#fawn in the sibs!au is literally the equivalent of being so broken and bloodied and still dragging yourself onward#bc what other choice do you have?#ALSO !!!! bc we love to discuss fawn treating destroying the exhibition as a self-inflicted funeral.#knowing that in the sibs!au they probs only intended to remove their own self ?? but spare cyrus and riverâs??#except then cyrus goes and blows up the fucking museum !!!!!!#I know for a fact theyâre too busy helping w evacuations to actually manage to detour and save any of it too#bc they def wouldâve considered it. genuinely inconsolable later when ric talks to them abt it.#bc hereâs the thing. it may not have happened in actual book canon but I know in my heart he would sit them down and explain that nothing#of the sidestep exhibit could be recovered. which is fine for Just fawn but when u include the brothers ??? absolutely not#angie also is the one who chases fawn off which makes it even more fun bc they Just run from her they donât super fight#and genuinelyâŚ. idk if they could have right then !!!! I think theyâd be way too distracted and shocked to manage it#keeping up with the beckers

i feel like if there was an au wherein Willow and Charlie's roles were swapped, everything would simply have gone So Much Worse. like, i think Willow would have encouraged Maxwell. she would make him worse
i do not dare imagine what a Constant with Willow (worse edition) in charge would be like, because just thinking about it a teeny tiny bit leads me to believe no one would survive a singular day. she would be a menace beyond belief and reason. Maxwell would be so very proud off her up until he gets hit with the character growth (i.e, realising she's not going soft on him), and then he would be scrambling to get her off that throne immediately
#don't starve#i found one (1) fic about them and now i can't stop thinking about what their dynamic would be like#she would make him worse. she would encourage his atrocities and push them even further. i think they would be funny as fuck together#willow is very amoral. to me. she would commit war crimes <3#but i also don't think she's like. cruel. or anything. she's just having her fun and if you're hurt by that then like. that's YOUR problem?#i also think she'd pair well with a redeemed maxwell?#both because maxwell trying to hold back willow is funny but also because i think she would NOT put off with any of his bullshit#like boohoo you got trapped in the Constant by your fundamentally changed girlfriend fucking get in line#and when he gets too caught up in guilt she'd roll her eyes and kick his knees in and tell him to get OVER himself#anyway they're my little guys now. putting them in a jar and shaking it. wilson breathing a sigh of relief like i'm not gonna put him back

I have a lot of posts about how I liked the finale and it was not OOC, but thatâs on a stance of consistency, not storytelling and meta narrative. The finale is consistent with their characters (except Punz but thatâs a whole other rant). I think the ending was far from well written (because the dialogue was fucking improv on a time limit). Itâs definitely not handled well on the meta, but I think it Makes Sense. I donât defend the finale because I think it was great. I defend it because I see a lot of poorly interpreted takes or just straight up neg.
I think Iâve accidentally come off as a c!Dream apologist or a c!Tommy anti at first glance even though Iâm quite literally the opposite of both if anyone actually reads my long form rants (because they are rants under the thin veil of analyses; I am just throwing words at a keyboard without any central idea). If given a gun, I wouldnât hesitate to shoot c!Dream between the eyes, and Iâm literally a cc!TommyInnit main. He is literally the only steamer/youtuber I watch regularly (anymore) despite being the kind of person who prefers to flitter through content topics rather than dedicate to a specific channel or streamer.
Criticism where criticism is due, and I love reading crit and neg and I agree with so much of it, but Iâm not the kind of person to reiterate what other people are already saying. You can criticize the execution of the finale all you want and I Agree With You. Itâs terribly executed! But Iâm going to ignore the terrible execution and the unintentional framing because itâs been beat to death by now, so let me shove what I liked about it down everyoneâs throat.
I donât intake the DSMP from the perspective of someone expecting a professionally written story. Iâm watching it knowing that this is an improv told by amateur storytellers, one of whom is literally a comedian and the other who has the self awareness of a very small dog.
I donât expect a perfect execution, but I know itâs well meaning. I think people are so desperate to hate sometimes that they forget that the whole existence of the DSMP is out of a place of love and passion for the story theyâre telling. It wouldnât have gone on this long if it werenât for a genuine love for what they do, and we have seen first hand how other projects die on so so many occasions.
I think the DSMP (especially Tommy and Dreamâs finale) deserves to at least receive some praise for what the content creators intended rather just neg upon neg, a lot of which are by people who didnât even watch the finale. Thereâs a whole section of the community who loved the ending when it was first streamed, but I didnât see anyone else actually talking about why it was good other than âStaged Duo My Belovedâ and âTommy is a good person!â like YOURE ALSO MISSING THE POINT. THIS IS THE SAME BULLSHIT STEVEN UNIVERSE FANS PULLED.
Tommy was a flawed individual who was facing his abuser and his trauma right as he was at deathâs door but Tommy Didnât Forgive Dream For The Shit He Did. You donât fucking forgive abusive power hungry narcissists for literally killing and torturing you. But yâall are so eager to go straight to Murder just because itâs an actual option, but in the DSMP, murder is still framed as a Very Bad Thing to do rather than just some unfavorable activity that people take part in. Itâs just that thereâs no consequence for commuting the Very Bad Thing other than the degradation of your morals (WHICH AGAIN EVERYONE IS MORALLY GREY AND I COULD GO ON A WHOLE RANT ABOUT TOMMY AND THE THEMATIC IMPORTANCE OF HIM NOT KILLING PEOPLE)
But the prison literally failed! So what do you do if both prison AND murder are off the table?? You move on. Thatâs what you fucking do. You pick the perpetrator up by the scruff of his neck, strip him of everything that gives him any power, give him a licensed therapist or seven, then put him behind a white picket fence in fucking Wyoming literally miles away from the nearest person, and you at least try to live your life.
Tommy literally couldnât move on because he was haunted by the very Concept of Dream. Even if he picked up his bags and moved to the other side of the universe, heâd be haunted by the fear that Dream would find him somehow because thatâs how paranoia works. Instead, Tommy chose to understand the cause of his Fear so that he could get some control over it, so that he could close his eyes for once and get some fucking sleep. Although this entire time he knew it was a futile effort because theyâd be dying anyway, but for once in his goddamn life, he deserved to at least feel some relief from the heavy burden that was his self (although this was mostly everyone) perceived Crime Of Existing.
GIVE THE GUY A FUCKING BREAK.
ITS NOT FUCKING VICTIM BLAMING AND NO ONE IS FORGIVING DREAM EXCEPT THE BATSHIT CRAZY DREAM APOLOGISTS. NOT EVEN CC DREAM IS FORGIVING CDREAM BECAUSE CDREAM IS A PIECE OF SHIT THAT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ANY AUTHORITY OR NEAR CHILDREN.
#personal#dsmp#personally Iâm of the opinion that certain crimes do deserve the death punishment#however Death is irreversible and if you kill the wrong guy then whoops#so I am also against the death sentence in real life practice#purely because it can be exploited like the entire American prison system#I have absolutely no qualms against killing people#in context#but I also am aware itâs not a mentally stable thing to do#and Tommy would actively deteriorate upon committing Kill#he has had the option to be a worse person and he either decides against it or he is prevented from making the choice#good#i see the If Tommy Had A Gun meme#do not give him a fucking gun#donât give any of them a fucking gun actually#except Connor. I trust c!ConnorEatsPants with a gun#just donât let anyone commit murder except Connor

Maybe Iâve just been Thinking Too Much About the Concept of Justice due to...currently watching....something (Idonâtwannatalkaboutit)..........but GENUINELY the way most of yâall talk about the death penalty and about ANYONE who decides to go through law school for ANY reason is terrifying.
#like. aside from the fact that y'all think thoughtcrime is real (to the extent that it's the Same Thing as actually committing a heinous#crime that affects real people) and would thus be punishable by death (fuck you if you think this btw)#I simply don't think anybody should have the power to decide who lives and who dies#that is a level of absolute and (in the case of death) irreversible power that I believe NO ONE is entitled to#and like. idk. maybe this is just the result of The OCD⢠always telling me that because of [unrelated innocuous thing] I'm a terrible human#and should kill myself for the good of society. but. uh. given the inherent fallibility of human nature#and the fact that the justice system is fucked up in the first place#and the fact that marginalized people of any kind are ALWAYS demonized for being marginalized by the oppressors in power#I don't think it's worth risking all those innocent lives for what YOU consider a personally-satisfying idea of justice that could be#achieved through other means#idk man when your brain (inaccurately but still significantly) is always convincing you that you are an Irredeemably Evil⢠person#it makes you scared to just. exist as a person in society when people talk like this all the time about people they believe don't deserve#human rights or who should ALWAYS be executed in bloody painful gruesome ways with NO chance of anything else#because you're gonna think that they mean you! that you are included in that!! even if that's not their intention#!!!!! aside from EVERYTHING ELSE I've mentioned that is gonna fuck up people's mental health SO much#(ESPECIALLY if they're stuck in a terrible church environment that condemns them for innocuous things!!!!)#I understand that we're all angry and the world is terrible but maybe consolidating ALL major decisions within One Justice Person or#One Organization is bad actually!!!! even if that person/group is you and you mean well!!!!!!!#tw: suicidal ideation#tw: death#my god I hope this doesn't breach containment I do NOT need people telling me I need to reevaluate my stance that 'human rights'#includes 'all humans'#this blog does not support capital punishment if that's a dealbreaker for you then...don't interact with me I guess???#also every single lawyer ever is not your inherent enemy it's not like cops

Liar's Den WIP [Working Title, Unfinished]
Almost a solid year (Mar 23rd, 2022) since I started writing and editing this thing, and I planned / plan (?) to do more with it, but I'm honestly not quite sure where to go, and in a way, I honestly think it works alright as a standalone, so I'm just going to throw it out there to show that I do, in fact, write. I had fun writing it, at least, and I hope to make something more of it someday, but...?
Wariness is her natural state. Calculating. Observant. Perceptive. Even then, it isnât very hard to notice that, out of all the seven deadly sins, she had only ever seen six. No mention of Sloth, of Belphegor, was madeâseemingly a taboo topic among the brothers. No wonder why, Morgana thinks now.Â
âWhy are you trying to trick me? I have eyes, you know.â Her expression turns into a bemused smile. âA brain? I may be a mere human,â she makes mystical motions with her fingers, eyes wide and dramatic, before she drops the act with a scoff, âbut I know exactly who you are.â Her eyes flicker towards his fingers, blue-tipped nails, which tighten on the door. Another giveaway, Ana observes. She knows by now that Asmo paints all of their nails, but his are chipping; faded. How long has he been here? As long as I have? Longer? She doesnât ask him. âIâve seen your portrait, you know? Even if I hadnât, your fingernails are painted. That might be fine by itself, but your eyes?â She tilts her head, âStrange color for a human. What is that? Purple, right?â Related to Beel? Internally, she rolls her eyes. Obviously.
His hands slacken. He shrugs, trying to appear laxâ a nice imitation, or it would be, except the tightness has moved up. The stiffness of his shoulders makes the action slightly less loose than it should be. Interesting, her eyes narrow. He doesnât like being called out on this. Why, though?
âYou caught me,â he raises his hands in a gesture reminiscent of Asmo. Itâs sort of ⌠cute, on him. Intentional? Questions she canât answer yet run rampant. Thereâs not enough information to infer much of anything, as frustrating as that isâvery. As for his lies, she thinks there could be a logical reason behind them, and while his state of captivity makes him look like a victim in some form, his deception speaks against that. Regardless of logic, the hasty fabrication, the stiffness of his fingers and shoulders, makes her have doubts. Heâs certainly capriciousâjust listen to how even toned he sounds now, compared to his earlier panicâbut to what extent? Perhaps further sarcasm would be ⌠unwise.
Morgana looks back up, âSo what is it that you want, then, if you were desperate enough to lie for it?â She frowns, gesturing to the door that holds him. âFreedom, I assume?â
For the first time, she sees something like a spark in him. Energy that wasnât there before.Â
âI thought I might get your help,â he says, âif I pretended to be human.â She canât tell whether this is duplicitous or not. Even a close inspection shows no obvious signs. Perhaps heâs just that good of a liar. Perhaps he isnât lying at all. It could be both. Insertions of truth, twisted to fit one's liking, have always made lying easier. Harder to detect by a casual, or even careful, viewer. Sheâs only seen a single tell, and even then, being stiff doesnât always indicate a lie â it can be normal tensity; discomfort. Plenty of things that make her slow to place any defining bets. Heâs shown her basically nothing.Â
She had never really given further thought to the implications of Sloth on behavior. Acedia, she remembers, is apathetic. Listless. Lack of care. Her eyes track to his hair â messy; bedhead â to his clothes. Theyâre barely resting on his frame, and not in the sense of weight, but rather, the jacket he wears is nearly falling off. His shirt â plain, white â is a bit more kempt, but only just. It lifts at his midriff, revealing an un-tied pair of sweatpants that dip low on his hips. He wears no shoes at all, but when she peers in, she can see a pair of long boots sitting in the corner. Effortless. Slip-on. Morganaâs eyes find her own slippers, and she shrugs. Understandable, she thinks. Nice, too. The room itself reflects his state of dress. Untidy. Lacking organization. Her gaze falls onto Belphegor again. He seems, as expected, unbothered. It isnât like she can criticize that; in fact, it appears they share these traits in common. That being said âŚÂ
This ⌠probably shouldnât bother me as much as it does. Her brow furrows. Regardless, the feeling doesnât leave. It isnât very often that she canât get a good read on someone. Being out of her element like that makes her feel uncomfortable. Most peopleâeven the other demon brothersâare easy enough to read at the best of times. Belphegor âŚisnât.Â
(Asmo tells her that she isnât, either. Is that what dealing with me feels like to him? Eugh.)
âI canât break the seal on this âŚdoor,â he admits, scowling. Surprisingly expressive, his hands flutter before it. That, at least, is truthful. Thereâs no hesitation in his words, no tightness of his frame. His emotions are visible, but not overdone.
âFrankly,â she says, unable to tamp down her bitterness, âI donât know what you expect me to do about that. I have no magic.â This may not endear him to her, but itâs true. Sheâs been painfully aware of her status since being deposited here. Even with potential, the understanding of theory, all that becomes useless when she canât even apply it.
âThat may be true, but you have pacts.â
Morgana raises her eyebrows. âAnd you know about this âŚhow?âÂ
âDonât get so worked up,â he huffs, rolling his eyes. âLucifer told me.â
She snorts. He is cute. Sort of. Shakes her head. âHumor me, then. If I were to free you,â Ana posits, âwhat is it that I would have to do?â
âIf you made a pact with all of my brothers, that would be enough to break the seal.â
She hums. âWhat do I get out of this dealâ I mean, why should I?â It sounds cruel. He could be innocent, she reminds herself. But itâs a genuine enough question, really. Why risk herself? Mammonâs pact was pure luck, and Levi's was borne of some uncanny trickery. Fooled into believing she had won when she hadnât. Heâd been too worked up to realize, and she was, of course, in no hurry to correct him. She was weak here; having something concrete would be protection. âI donât even know you.â
âAre youâ?â His eyes flash. She has to cradle her face to hide the smile this brings. Thumb and forefinger resting on her cheeks. Her hand; a curtain. Neither his apparent anger nor her amusement lasts for very long. âYouâre a human,â he says, incredulous. âDonât you want powerâor something?â
Morgana sniffs, fingers coming down to rub at her eternally stuffy nose, âI donât particularly care.â
He blinks. âAre you not driven by ⌠generosity?â His words are metered, strained, and pushed through clenched teeth; she suspects the word he wishes to have said was not half as nice as the one he had chosen. Heâs being careful. Itâs notable that he does seem genuinely curious, however. Itâs just a guess, really, but this probably wasnât how he had expected their meeting to go. And it must be weird to meet a human not simply drawn in by that promise of power, especially a power received so idly. A thing that Belphegor is known for accomplishing at a price; a particularly devious demonâmanipulative, her textbooks had warned. Sheâs not sure she wants to deal with the cost of that, really; power and influence are overrated things, anywayâshe wouldnât deny a level of self-motivation in seeking out pacts like Pokemon cards, but. Power is the least of her concerns. Control is a trivial matter. She simply wants to live unburdened, and to do that, she needs to actually be alive. Itâs a simple desire; all things considered. Base. Yet sheâs curiousâfor answers no one else would give, she knows. Who would be so forthcoming? Lucifer? Certainly not. Thereâs clearly something going on hereâthis attic room, these spiral stairs, up which Lucifer had told her nothing was or would beâand damn it if she doesnât want to know why this would be worth lying about; if everyone else was lying to her, too. Did Beel know? It didnât seem that way, certainly, but she doesnât really know him, eitherâŚ
âI can be generous,â she reveals after a moment, âbut Iâm not going to go out of my way if I donât need to. Plus,â Ana turns her gaze on him. âYouâve given me no reason to trust you.â
. . .
Trust. She falls onto her bed, sighing. How fucking complicated. Itâs true that his lies had made her wary, but a part of her â an annoying, shoved-aside part of her â wants to help him. That feeling is as annoying as it always is. Sheâd been working on this part of herself, slowly but surely. Itâs uncountable how many times now that her generosity has hurt her rather than helping, but attempting to be so selfish hurts all those good parts inside her, too. Tears them up and crushes them underfoot.
Tonight, it bothers her so much that it even stalls her sleep. Lying. Rolling. Restless. Why do you want to help him anyway? She doesnât know, and more than not knowing him, her ignorance of herself is infuriating. She should know this. She should understand herself like the back of her hand. She thinks restlessly. She thinks endlessly. She thinks and comes up blank every time. Heâs a stranger, Ana tells herself. He might even deserve it.
âDeserve being locked away?â She murmurs, an uneasy frown twisting her face. âWith nothing?â Closes her eyes. It was glaringly obvious how little he actually had, after all. No D.D.D., which sheâd already noticed early on. Absence from chats. Communication. Healthy things that were necessary. Isolation. Loneliness. One of Luciferâs ham-fisted âpunishmentsâ? It doesn't feel right.
Even without trust, even if he did deserve some form of punishment, could she say that it would be this? Could she condemn him? Because thatâs what it would be. Damning. Not helping Belphegor would only mean that he would be stuck thereâliving in those conditions, alone, for as long as Lucifer saw fit to hold him. Her wariness didn't mean she had to be okay with that by defaultâdidnât allow her to simply turn a blind eye. Itâs true, she knows this, but that doesnât mean she likes facing it.
#belphegor x mc#obey me belphegor#i wanted to make them kind of contentious and have a moral struggle idk#i've seen so many people talk about the scene and the betrayal of it#but i didn't trust him and i wasn't spoiled either so no outside perspective just vibes#and i thought it'd be fun to approach it like that#and i also feel like ... i would have noticed a picture or something beforehand you know ? like he just fits into my type so gd well#i cannot be led to believe that i would traverse those halls every goddamn day and not spot the emo boy#i am simply built different#and yeah i'm criticizing lucifer in this because belphegor's whole issue was the belief that lilith had actually died#and i just fundamentally disagree with treating someone who hasn't committed any crimes like a criminal#lucifer backed a beast into a corner of course he's going to fucking lash out like what do u expect psychologically it makes fucking sense#persecution of an as of yet innocent person is likely to make them desperate#they've no other options and the worst has already been assumed of them anyway so fuck it right nothing to lose#lesson 16 spoilers#obey me

It was SUCH a good scene. Though, contrary to the first post, it was INCREDIBLY justified, and that's part of what was so good about it.
Osha took all that hurt and betrayal, and it didn't matter that Sol was unarmed and not fighting back. The only thing that mattered was his terrible lie to make a child trust and believe in him just so he could have his Padawan, and the unprovoked murder he committed so he could have that Padawan.
He forgave her because he knew that he deserved what she gave him. He forgave her because maybe he finally understood the great evil he'd been committing for years.
Osha's actions were human. Her feelings were dark. Faced with the shock of this horrifically, terrible betrayal, you can debate whether they were evil. They were not unjustified, that's for sure. Sol got exactly what was coming to him, and that the show allowed Osha to unapologetically deliver that justice was wonderful.
One thing I did appreciate is that The Acolyte did not hold back on that Osha went full dark side, that Sol's kyber crystal was crushed by her anger and hate to the point that it bled into a red saber. She straight up murdered someone who was not fighting back. She killed him because she was hurt and angry, not because he was a threat. Osha's feelings of betrayal and rage were valid, her actions were not. She murdered an unarmed man who was not fighting back, who had no intention of fighting back, who literally forgave her as she choked the life out of him, and nothing of her actions were justified. She wasn't even regretful about it. The dark side can be humanized to a degree, it always has been in Star Wars, that's nothing new. Anakin's everything ever, Maul's pain and desperation for a connection through an apprentice, Dooku's clinging to his care for people like Yaddle or Asajj, the dark side has never been about detached or unsympathetic anger. It's always come from a very human place, that's why the Jedi constantly caution that no one is beyond it. But Osha embraced it here, she stepped over the line and murdered a defenseless man because of her rage, not because it was in any way justified as a killing, and the kyber crystal screamed and bled because of it. You don't get a red saber by being justified, you get it by crossing the line into an act of evil. And props to The Acolyte for not shying away from that, as human as Osha is and will continue to be, her actions were over the line of evil.
#I've always thought it weird how people take the superhero approach when it comes to murders#it was TOTALLY 100% justified#he could have been lounging on a bed of pillows playing with puppies and Osha would be justified in killing him#like. his present physical condition doesn't play a role in justice. only the crimes he committed and Osha's feelings about it matter#that's why Anakin was also justified in wiping out that Tuskan village#you have these parties (Sol and the Tuskans) who did unspeakable things#it is not on the victims to pardon them or to be sympathetic#why SHOULDN'T they eliminate them? they don't HAVE to take the moral high ground#ofc it certainly makes them unsuitable Jedi. xD but it's understandable and justifiable and very human#and I'm GLAD to see it#we have enough superhero movies lol#i do wish Sol had been better than GROSSLY INCOMPETENT tho#that whole witch murder fest did NOT track in any reasonable way with the story or the characters#given what happened the outcome was very satisfying#but what happened could have been done SO MUCH BETTER#commentary#Acolyte#spoilers#Star Wars
