Review:

I know cheating fics are not everyone’s cup of tea but hear me out. This fic may be centered around cheating however, it is so well written that it makes up for everything. 

I know, I know. Cheating is bad. But what I loved is how the writer approached the subject. It is not some cutesy, hehe haha let’s just be together despite my partner’s feelings. It really goes in depth of how messy it is. They did not romanticize it as something so exciting and hot because it’s forbidden. They continuously showed us how everyone involved gets hurt.

(Although the smut is A+++)

Soobin in this fic is really... he’s just really. I am trying to think of some nice words for him because the entire fic I was so frustrated with him lol. He’s really a dumbass and doesn’t really understand his own feelings but again, that is what I loved so much about his characterization. He is human. He acknowledges that he doesn’t have it figured out and at times he does hurt both Yeonjun and his girlfriend but he tries to work through it as best to his ability (spoiler: his ability is not that good). And side note, just the fact that the writer can get me to not like a soobin character is enough for me to love this fic. It’s almost impossible for me to dislike a soobin character but they really aced it in this fic. 

Another thing I want to praise the writer for, she does not villainize Soobin’s girlfriend in the fic. I know a lot of times in fics you will see the only female character portrayed as mean and bitchy. But she had her own storyline as well that she was also going through feelings she didn’t understand like Soobin was.

And finally, my favorite character is Yeonjun. I’m not really sure why I felt so much sympathy for him because I know he is the one that knew about Soobin’s relationship and still went ahead and had an affair. But his character is just so sweet. He just wants to love Soobin and towards the end you’ll just want to give the poor guy a hug. 

This part in particular breaks my heart for him so much that I had to take a moment to collect myself before continuing. 

"I want you to be with me without thinking of her."

Soobin is silent, eyes searching Yeonjun's avoidant face. His mouth opens, but he knows he can't give the man in front of him the answer he wants. It's fucked up, this whole situation is. It's fucked up that he has to be here, being asked to choose between the person he's been with for so long, someone he's so used to, who he cares for – who cares for him – and this... living, breathing definition of all the things he tried to warn himself against. This beautiful, broken-hearted person who's desperate for him, who Soobin is just as desperate for, too. This man who claims to be in love with Soobin.

Soobin's eyebrows crease, unable to hold this internal battle from his features. "You know I can't do that, Jun."

I don’t want to spoil the ending but for anyone like me that doesn’t like to read non endgame yeonbin. This one is safe to read. Also trigger warning: straight sex. lol.

i was rereading different parts of the royal au and i got to neil calling andrew "my star" and my mind immediately added north to it and i read it as "my north star" and then i remembered that that's the star people always use to find home. cause andrew is neil's home.

Hi everone! Here am I to announce a new ROTTMNT fic I'm working on and be posting on December 1 ( not a day sooner or later) with chapter 2 scheduled to go up at Christmas and Chapter 3 on the morning before the New Year. It's a Krang Donnie fic with plenty gore, angst , fluff and some Krang biology + lore that I never came across before. Found out today that I've published over 100k words over on ao3 (including my ficlet archive of my Tumblr works). Which is crazy to think a year and a half ago I had zero and had never even considered writing fanworks. I just want to thank y'all for your support and enjoying anything I've written from my headcanons to my long fics.

I’ve gotten to a point with Of All the Unexpected where I’m starting to wonder…..just how long the completed story actually gonna be. Like what’s the finial word count gonna add up too. B/c with the current rate of things (aka my chapters keep getting longer), we genuinely might be looking at something that’s around 100k, which is just so mf wild to me.

Like am I gonna be a persons who’s written an 100k word fanfic? Is that gonna be added to my life resume? Am I going to become an entirely different person after doing that?

My Ao3 Wrapped

Last year, on December 30th, I did my Spotify wrapped, but with Ao3. So a Ao3 Wrapped I read 123 complete fanfics that totaled 2,170,440 words, 80% of these fanfics were from the Star Wars fandom and the rest were Superbat and Spiderpool. (Also I read 10k words every hour, sooo this means i spent 217 HOURS just reading on Ao3.) THIS YEAR we still have a whole month to go and I've already reached 220 fanfics… I think I'll post the results of this year's Ao3 Wrapped on December 31st, along with my favorite stories from each fandom that i was a part of (The mandalorian, Star Wars, batfamily, 911, marvel, teen wolf) It's a lot of fun to see the results of hours and hours of reading summarized, and I'd love to see other people do this and share (if someone does it, let me know because i never saw it)

So I finally hit 100k+ words on Ao3!

I know some writers write that many words in their sleep, but it feels like a big checkpoint for me. My first story was posted in August 2023 and now, just over 6 months later, here I am.

This is not the first bit of writing ever for me, but it's fiction writing that has been shared with the world--for better or worse.

Obviously, I have no plans to stop, but I wanted to mark the moment in time, especially as my 40th birthday is banging on my door. Yeah, an old dude on the internet is writing fanfic and I'm enjoying it (and hopefully you are too).

Anyway, check out the latest chapter in 'Getting Lost in the Flames', the last part of a JaySteph fanfic series, now on Ao3.

Thanks to everyone thus far who has read, left kudos and comments, and have generally just been part of this ride with me. Those things mean more than you know.

Big shoutout also to the JaySteph fandom, as it's what got me going on this path and gave me a place to ground myself and have some direction. My house and computer is a graveyard of started projects, notes, outlines, ideas, and good intentions of stories I've wanted to write for years, but for one reason or another I didn't make it happen. If anything, this has proven to me that I can make it happen.
